Downgrade resolution Ze551ml - ZenFone 2 General

Hello, i have a asus zenfone 2 ze551ml, rooted, with xposed framework installed on the lastest firmware(07/03 - 40.22)
I would like downgrade my resolution to 720p or 600p for increase my performance in game and m'y battery life.
I have do its great ! , but i lost the nav bar control !!
I must enable nav bar of gravitybox its too bad.
Any body have a solutions ? Sorry for my bad english.
Thank in advance XDA!

I never used any nav hardware keys with all my phones, LMT Pie control allows me to access 24 action: 14 with 2nd layer (Long/Short press) and 10 with 1st layer. Its much faster to access actions/customized apps. It works with 720P here. To revert back and be able to install it, connect your phone to a pc and run this adb command: abd shell wm size reset. After activating LMT Pie controls, run:
''adb shell wm size 720x1280'' or any compatible resolution. Yes, games will see close to double framerates, phone will be faster/smoother, better battery/less heat, slightly less RAM.
Really, differentiating 1080p from 720p on a 5.5'' screen is not so obvious.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! I have install this little programm and i'm happy i have many buttons back, home etcc
But if any body can create à patch for this is welcome thank you very much

Bienvenue xD Physical keys position mapping is out of range after changing to a smaller resolution. Someone should try to remap the hw keys to fit the new 720P resolution or they can be extracted from the ZE550 phone.

Okay i wainting for someone can remap the hw key

Opps. We really need resolution downgrade. It will help in increasing battery time.
So we can now downgrade resolution but we need to find out a way to remap the physicals keys with respective to the lower resolution... Hmm
EDIT : http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/themes-apps/flashable-enable-softkeys-t3145577
This will disable physical/hardware keys and enable soft keys. Will check what happens.... soon.

Did anyone try this with 720P and then apply back stock settings file from this thread?
Opening the disable/enable file from attached zips might help us find where key mapping is.

I've flashed the zip file its work i have the softkey

With 720p? Oh, soft not physical keys.

Oui cela fonctionne correctement.

Can anyone of you inform me of what kind of gain you get on performance and battery life by downgrading your resolution?

Surtout, close to double FPS in games. Noticeably less lag, smoother graphics and actions in UI. Pinching, Zooming and scrolling is more fluid. I also saw a 100-150Mb RAM usage since textures all take less Mb @720p. Battery improved I say ~15% as I can see its decreasing much slower now and especially the phone heats significantly less as a result. Its rendering 2x less pixels.
I mean phones are getting close to 4K, who can see the difference after 1080p or between 720P and 1080P on a 5.5'' device? The more the pixels, the more the battery is used given the same technology employed. Its that way since monitors were invented lmao

You can notice a slight difference in general sharpness of image if you put the 550 (720p) next to a similarly sized 1080p phone, but you can barely make out any pixels without really close inspection. In general use, rather than a side by side comparison, 720p looks just fine. Well worth it considering the battery, performance and cost (for the much cheaper 550) benefits. 2K and above on 5 or 5.5 inch devices is bonkers.

The difference is most in game
i have tested for GTA and NFS NO limit i have more frame with a more litle résolution.
Zenfone 2 litle burn with big game its ......

Camera Green Spot on CF Root KK9

I've realized since move to KK9 and changed to CF Root that I can observe a green spot in the display when taking a photo
This is not a screen problem, as the pictures taken also have the green spot.
I does not happen 100% of time, but mostly.
Cloud you please check in your devices? I would like to know if this is a KK9 problem, a CF Root KK9 problem, or a HW problem.
I'm including a couple of pictures for you to compare.
I'm on KKA [one release after yours] with the beta .14 kernel and have no problems with the camera colouration.
No green spot here with KK9 and CF-Root.
oh thanks I also had the problem
the problem suddenly happen, somethime not

Do you mind speaking English as a common rule of this community?
Have this problem since kj4. Now on kk9 i still have this problem. Happening only when low light on white background.
On KJ4 and i have this problem too but its pink, had it on the sgs2 also, think its the way the software handles light. in daylight its less noticeable than indoors.
Only having this prob when taking pics with a lot of whites in it.
EDIT: added picture.

On KKA i have this problem too...
What firmware do not have this problem?
Thank you!
Dint understand why this has to be in dev section
It's my fault. I thought I was opening the threat in general Note section. I don't know how to move it now

It shouldn't be, and it no longer is. The only reason it's staying open is because it went to two pages before I caught it.
In the future just hit the report button and ask for it to be moved.
I've got Galaxy Note on 11 Nov 2011, I noticed that when switching on Camera, targeting any white wall, I notice Columns / Bars of shadows are moving like curtain or Smoke from left to right of the screen specially in a low light places, also a pink spot in the middle of the screen.
Is this normal? if not, What I have to do?

[Q] Display problem?

Hi everyone, I have a problem with HTC HD2 phone.
I have dissasembled it in order to fix call button. I find it very hard to dissasemble, but I watched a video - how to do that...
I put it together with call button disabled, and turned on. And then, there was a new problem - display is corrupted, but touch works even there where colours are mixed... Is display broken or it can be another problem?
Thanks, and my apologies for bad English...
Though I am forbiden to post links, make link from this by removing spaces between dodaj and .rs

device making noise and unable to focus on bright scenes

When trying to focus on a bright lit scene the device starts making noise and you see ripples going across the preview on the screen. My friend says that is actually coil noise coming from a failing capacitor.
Is he correct or is the device just bad at focusing on certain scenes?

Like "Choose an username..." says, a lot of US models have their OIS messed up. Usually killing the cam app solves it for me, but that "noise" doesn't happen really often in my case. If it happens too frequently for you maybe it is something more serious and killing the app won't solve it. I didn't ask for a replacement because I live in Argentina and I would have had to wait at least a month for the shipping and stuff, but if you can do it I recommend you call ZTE support

Yes, I have the A2017U. Maybe the designers made a mistake with A2017U and fixed it in A2017G.
What's weird is that problems began after the first nougat update, so maybe they are a software issue and can be patched

I can confirm that this issue is also on the A2017G , almost whenever I shake the phone a little bit heavier in the camera app on los, the list goes crazy. Once it even made loud noise, like something inside is cracked. Now on stock I didn't encounter this problem yet.

Ghost Tap fix yet?

Has anyone figured out a fix to the ghost tap issue plaguing this model yet?
Turn off max brightness. Seems to fix mine, and mines bad enough to render the device useless.

Ghost touch, not screen burn in. Turn off adaptive brightness, and you'll have to manually set your brightness. Don't go over half brightness. No ghost touch period after that.
I think i found a fix (below)
(yes i have ghost touch, has even done it in trwp a couple times this week))

Salve,
Need English on XDA, just how it is.
I would help you, but try to translate it

Sorry for my english (even though he didn't write in english lol). Have to change the phone, looking for a good HiFi music phone. i thought about the Axon 7. what do i lose if i mod it
Ho usato google translate lol
Puoi comprarlo senza rimpianto.

The lower sound problem of the G model have been fixed by the update since a long time ago now. So there is no more difference with the U version.

I read somewhere here from someone who tried both the G and U side by side in stock, and says that the G's DAC is noisier and worse overall. I haven't tried but the U is better system-wise anyways
Mine is stock and I use Jet Audio app for my music. Works great, paid for pro version and the AM3D plugin, actually been spending time on that tonight. I feel it will be a good setup without going to a modded or custom ROM.

How did you get AM3D to work? could you send a link or something? Every time I install it to try it, it just stays on the initial black screen...

You can try it without purchasing, that's what I did but found it worked well so did purchase. To turn on the effect you hit the round button with three circles. Check in your Jet preferences/playback that the HRA sound engine is enabled too.
In the phone's sound settings I have Atmos turned off and headset hifi on super. In Jet I have EQ turned off and no other sound effects except AM3D in use. AGC is enabled and at 30.
The other thing is sound effect profiles. You reach them by hitting the EQ button from the top of the now playing screen. Can change settings between different listening devices, so different settings between headphones, speaker, bluetooth etc.
Still tweaking AM3D but currently have it set using Z Bass at 50, Z Treble at 30 and Z Boost on. This makes for good clarity, punchy bass and picks up the detail. A bit like a dumbed down ViPER4Android with minimal adjustments but does what's needed. I didn't find any of the other plugins useful so no other purchases. It sounded great on my headphones and in the car. Now checking my BT speakers at work. My Jawbone Big Jambox pumps!

The only difference will be the modems for different countries. The audio hardware will be identical and differences will be in software but updates to Nougat will fix the G. Mine is good. The drive in to work this morning showed me I no longer need ViPER4Android :good:
Have to keep an open mind, experiment and be willing to purchase good apps.
