Hi, sorry if I'm being a bit dense, but where do I put this on my phone(currently running 4.4.4, System Version 21.12.40 ) and how do I proceed to successfully upgrade to 5.1? Do I put it in the root folder of my SD card and then manually check for updates? Thanks a lot.
EDIT: Also, I have tried to download from google drive three separate times and it keeps failing on me for no apparent reason...any chance I can request a mirror?

yeah your right. put it both in root of internal and external sd card. check for updates/reboot your device and you should be good to go.

i think you should try downloading on different browsers and both on your device and pc.
i think downloading through chrome on device/pc will be successfully.
if not, then you could ask other people for a mirror.

Hey, thanks a ton for the mega mirror, downloading right now at a really fast speed
Just one more question, please bear with me, I'm an epic newbie at this and I don't want to mess something up by doing something stupid. When I put it in the root of my SD card do I first unzip it or do I put the .zip file in? Thanks!

you don't need to unzip it.

I was kept file in external SD card and flash stock ROM. After phone turn on Immediately it shows the update. File is first copied to cache folder then shows install. No need to put the file in internal memory.

If you don't have any data on internal memory flash the phone. Then update.

so finally this is it ?the final update?no bootloader issues ? and after that i would be able to flash any rom right?

Guys, install this update using the stock recovery sideload... it's simple and fast...

Has anyone installed in XT1021 version?

Hey guys .. @tech_master ... Can anyone make root flashable file from this side load file ???

Did you copy the zip from /cache - and check it out?
A patch file (eg: market.p)? Or the full apk? Does it touch anything else? What build is listed in Settings > About ?
Just unrooted - reverted to pure stock - updated to 55D - rerooted - rebuilt my framework - yadda yadda - on Sunday. Hope I don't need to go through all that again..
how do copy it and view the files? it's downloaded, i just haven't installed it
i haven't rooted yet so i don't have all the options of root file explorer at the momment.
Just got this as well, not sure what it changed.

Install a File Manager if you dont already have one and check /cache.
Since you aren't rooted you may not be able to see it. Check anyway. If you can, use the file manager to copy it to your sdcard and please upload it for us.

That's what we'd like to know. If you're rooted, copy the .zip file from /cache to a handy location or your PC and explore inside the zip.
The update is first downloaded to /cache. A long name with HTK75D somewhere and ending in .zip.
Is there a /patch folder in the zip? All the files in that branch are patched by the updater. The files must be the latest stock version to get patched.
Is there a /system and/or /recovery folder in the zip? All the files in those branches get copied - and older ones on the Xoom are overwritten.
Drill down the /META-INF branch all the way. You'll find "updater-script". This is the command file which guides the whole update process - and tells us everything it is doing.
If there is a bootloader.bin file in the zip's root - we'll be flashed a new bootloader - which could break custom kernels and usually generates some apprehension (guilty until proven innocent).

I've never checked, but for those who aren't rooted, the filename might be logged. Could anyone who recently downloaded the update (but hasn't installed/rebooted yet) check LogCat to see if the filename is there? It should look something like this:
############.signed-tervigon-HTK75D-from-HTK55D.########
(pound signs represent hexadecimal digits)
If it's there, then this might help others manually download the update from the OTA site:
http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/motorola_tervigon/<update package filename>
(I think )
Thanks!

S'all right. 55s a benign update - we're still not sure what it fixed (or broke). If you are still stock - though rooted - use Stachre's update method in the dev section. Then you'll be ready for 75.
yeah 55 was the update from a week ago, google is dropping another one on us.

Hey man, I know people are saying in the XT 530 thread that I posted a link to your ROM without permission, but it is not so. I posted the link to another indonesian website from where I got the file. Like I mentioned, I was searching for this rom for warranty purposes and came across this on that particular website. Funny that google and even xda never threw up your post as a search result all this time.
No harm done, I did not repost your link.

Here's a quick trick :
Have 7zip on your pc.
Copy systemUi.apk to desktop.
Extract using 7zip.
U'll have the statusbar icons in res/drawable...
Find new png images(any other phone's systemui.apk)
Now open 7zip locate to that .apk and replace all those files with new one.
Replace systemui.apk back into system/app.
Restart the device n u r done.
If u want me to do it for u pm me i'll do it when m free.
Hit thanks

I've been playing with this build for one hour now but only now I noticed....
There is 818mb ram available on this one and only 282mb used after you clear the ram!
Apart from that:
- new icons for 'More settings' in 'Settings'
- wifi direct / allshare icon bug fixed
- the current day is marked with a blue circle on the 4x4 calendar widget
That's all I could notice for now.

I've got the kitkat OTA zip file for dual sim version[download link provided]

The file name is Blur_Version.14.85.4.falcon_umtsds.AsiaRetail.en.03.zip
If someone need this zip, I can upload it.
It is from a friend. For myself, I haven't received the push yet. But since I have already root my phone, I can't update my phone using this zip file.
As far as I know, you need put this file into /Cache and reboot to apply this update. If I flash stock rom to my phone, then I can't access the /Cache directory.
So either way, this file is useless to me.
Is there anyone can find a way to apply this update?

*note* This file is mainly here for rom developers looking to build a custom rom or extract files/patches to apply to other models. It can't be used to repair a bad update as patches will not apply twice.
nice, i hope someone can make it compatible with Y
and btw ... there are typos in your signature : 16 MB / 32 MB for your nexuses

The signature reflects the specific models I purchased and the amount of ram/rom they had. As such it appears accurate to me.
it's 16 GB and 32 GB, if it was MB you wouldn't even install anything
How do you install this?
Sweet! So just flash in recovery?

The short answer, and it's not intended to be ugly, is that if you have to ask it's not a file you should be installing.
It's easier to get it from the system updater....this is primarily intended for folks doing rom work or want to extract the patches to see what might be applied to the other models. It could be sideloaded via twrp for the specific firmware/model listed if they needed to for a particular reason.

It died on verifying system because I don't have that Google bloat installed. Oh well.
Quick question. I've flashed .bin files via odin, what do I do here?
It's simply a renamed zip. Change .bin to .zip and you can open it.
@purple.epod and others....I'm uploading an unrooted system image with boot (we need the kernel to match the system) to mega and will post the url when it completes tomorrow sometime. That file can be used to flash via twrp to the latest version and skip all the interim steps. Keep an eye out for it.
Sorry for so many questions -_- Lol. But flash this? Or the one you're talking about uploading?

The average user should use the file being uploaded in the system image thread. This url was for folks doing work on rom's.
