Hey you can't flash a s4 recovery in s3. You just have to flash a recovery for s3 neo. Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56085899&postcount=2

Thank you
Successfully flashed twrp 2.8.5.0 via flashify
I made nandroid
Does it restore nandroid or it has some issues

Yes it can make nandroid backup and restore. Just follow the instructions carefully. If you want to copy that backup to external memory card or pc just copy the whole twrp folder. And remember if you want to flash a custom rom, always make a backup of EFS and Modem because EFS and Modem have your IMEI info and other drivers details like wifi, bluetooth etc.

I can't flash cm12.1 by rox ,recover says Patching sys unconditionally
N then takes forever

When I restored nandroid
Every thing was okay
Except flashing modem it took loot of time without successful restore conformation.
Then I rebooted
Phone is working

Strange. I think you have to make a clean flashing. Wipe out everything thing then try to install. But first go to CM 12.1 page and read the instructions before doing anything.
---------- Post added at 08:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ----------
But hey, if you wiped out everything there will be no backup on internal storage so copy that to your external card. (Do not wiped your external card out)

I think yes. But there are many users who said that they didn't change it. I don't know much about it. Tell me when you tried to flash CM 12.1 did you wiped everything out? As much as i know you have to make a clean flashing.

That's why you have faced that problem. You have to wiped out everything but do not wiped external card out.

Very strange. Did you try f2fs? Make a post on that CM 12.1 thread. Restore your backup please then download catlog app from play store, make a logcat and share that with your post there. You can use zip manager to compress the logcat file.

I have never faced such problems. May be your CM package has something wrong during downloading. I am not a DEV so i don't know what is really happening. Anyway make a post there and one more thing try to flash any other rom if you have any.

How did you get TWRP to install successfully? What error messages are you getting?
Not sure if it's a requirement, but did you enable Developer Options and check the USB Debugging box?
Only twrp 2.5 will flash..but takes a few flashes with Odin...if twrp flashes OK...n I flash cfauto root with odin...I gain root and lose twrp..stock recovery.. try n flash twrp n I lose root...Its so crazy ive never seen anything do this..ive been flashing on the S1..S2..S3..and S4...I know what im doing..
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It will also freeze in download mode and say..something about the bar percentage..then I have to connect to kies and when it recognizes it I can flash with odin again
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Jeez......have u tried to reinstall the drivers on ur computer? Are u opening Odin with admin privileges? I would start over from scratch and re download the tar file and go back to stock and try to Odin cf auto root and then install goo manager and install the custom recovery. I hope u get it worked out.

When you make your backups you have to include selinux content. You can find this by opening backups, then miscellaneous settings then check off process selinux content for 4.3

I wouldbt use 2.7.1 because there is a bug right now if you let the screen time out it freezes.
You can go into settings and elset it to not screen off, but im waiting till dr87 makes his twrp with a thermal throttle before i update twrp again.
Youre on 2.7 right? I dont see the need in updating to 2.7.1

Why do you want to update? Just to be "updated"?

If you want to update to 2.7.1 use flashify or the twrp app from play store.
If you want to go to philz or cwm, you should be able just to flash them in recovery to change. If they are not patched for us to flash then use flashify
Twrp is normally never patched for us to flash. You can try flashing 2.7.1 if you want though. Worse case it just gices an error message

Also I wanted to confirm xposed is working I used the wanam v83 sdk23 arm version. I'll most likely just make a nandroid backup of this stock and switch back to cm13 as a daily driver soon since I prefer it. Cheers.
