[Q] Google camera fully working. - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi have used LOT of LP 5.x.x builds
- but all lack of fully functional google camera (just photo + video)
Recently I went to miui based on KT 4.4.4
- gues what ? it has FULLY functional google camera "including sphere and panorama all kinds"
- after taking snap !!! in background its crunching the data and you cant take another sphere !!! YEAH great
- also updates from store WORK fine
Question
- wanted ask WHY is this not possible on 5.x ?
- do you know about any edition of LP 5.x that is able to run full google camera ?

Hi,
1. It's possible, maybe you are using the stock Camera instead of Google Camera. Go and check in Settings -> Apps and look the package name of the Camera; it should be com.google.android.GoogleCamera, not com.android.camera2 (stock Camera).
2. All ROMs should be able. However, not all features can be used (since it's vary on device by device, check Google Camera description). See my attachment. I use GearCM and working fine.

SOLVED >>>
devs on LP 5.x mostly use google camera 3MB
its called something like google.camera2 !!! photos+videos ... cant be uninstalled
simply install google camera from shop once again all working fine with me without additional aps

Yes, you're right.
But about Google Camera 3MB: Stock camera on AOSP-based LP 5.x are using the same API as Google Camera. It can be uninstalled and replaced with Google Camera using some GApps zips, however it needs a clean install requirement.

[Q] Better stock Camera

Hi guys,
Im still using stock (a bit modded) firmware for my huawei ideos.
However the camera app for this rom realy sucks.
Is there any way to take camera apk from other roms (e.g aurora, cm7 or any other) put into B572 and make it work?
Aurora's camera is really great because it supports autofocus when recording , also path focusing...
Thanks

[FLASHABLE ZIP] HTC SENSE Camera (v6 and v7) + Gallery for Lollipop (5.1 / 5.0.1)

I've been working on a flashable zip for HTC SENSE Camera + Gallery for Android Lollipop 5.0.1 and 5.1...
Works also on non HTC / m8 phones...
Downloads are in original thread...
Here is the link original thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/themes-apps/flashable-zip-gpe-htc-sense-camera-t3085044
Added SENSE camera v7 zips...
Confirmed that it works also on non HTC Sense phones... (tested on Nexus 5)
How does this differ from the M9 port of the camera /gallery/ and apps. I currently have that variant installed on my G3 and was wondering if this would either add on/ improve or provide me with the same thing? Easier to ask then take the time to download, backup, soft brick 5.1, and then restore.

ROM with working camera

I'm still using my rooted stock Note 3 (kitkat), but am running into more and more apps that can't be installed.
I've tried out a couple of ROMs (Phronesis, Lineage), but the camera doesn't work right on those. Blurry in general, and focus is off.
I use the camera all the time and need it to take sharp photos.
Is there a ROM out there that has the camera working well or is it time to give up on the Note 3?
Samsung TW roms camera should work well .
Have you tried installing apps when using a stock Samsung 5.01 ROM?

best google-FREE rom for z3c? (no google apps, no google software)

i've heard LineageOS is google-free (no google), is it the only choice?
for other roms, can i simply remove the google softwares and install microG instead?
(i'm on eXistenZ, tried removing all google apps, few microG apps couldn't be installed)
good camera is also high priority.
I have tried Carbon and Omnirom with microG (NanoDroid) and evrything worked fine like expected.
Both of them are AOSP based roms, they come without the google stuff by default.
Camera qualtity is as good as it could be with an unlocked bootloader I guess.
I am using this Xperia Stock Camera Magisk Module for a Sony Camera feeling.
