Guide to update Inwatch Z firmware - Other SmartWatches

Hi. Sorry if this has already been requested on here but I wondered if there was a link to upgrading the firmware from 4.2.2 to 4.4. I have asked inwatch USA and they asked for my version and build number and then said something will be released.....soon, but that's as far as they go and I haven't had a reply from them since. I saw a video of someone who bought the Inwatch Z from chinavasion running 4.4 so someone must know how to upgrade. Any help would be much appreciated, maybe I'm looking in the wrong places.

Indeed there is on OTA on it's way, but I wonder how they want to this, considering all these different version that are around. This may take quite a while.
In the meantime, if you want to update to KitKat, pm me your e-mail address. I can help with the update, but prefer to do this by e-mail. I have all the files needed and can make a small tutorial and answer any questions.

Can you please email me detailed instructions and files to upgrade my inwatch
Currently on v 4.2.2
[email protected]

I received my inWatch yesterday and the OTA to 4.4.2 was there waiting. I am wondering if anyone has rooted or has been able to remove or permanently disabled some apps such as the native email, calendar and messenger? Since memory is an issue I would like to replace these and possibly other with "lighter" apps.

quick doubt about updating

hello.
i have a doubt and hope you can clarify me.
is there any way i can update my x10 with an uk fw in order to have the possibility to update it to 2.1?i've read that generic uk phones will be the first ones to have access to 2.1.
i'm runing vodafone portugal fw r2ba023. in order to have a generic fw i have to unlock it first. is that possible?
thanks
I would sooner wait on an update from a forum member. We don't know exactly where it'll hit first and IIRC, the updates could possibly be staggered.
As we've seen in the past people are pretty damn quick to share the news. We should maybe all band together and keep a torrent going or something. I hate file sharing websites. If worse comes to worse I'd upload this to a file sharing site for others. We've waited far too long and I'd hate for anyone to have to wait any longer than necessary.
not sure where is that fw but u can check on dev threads for the x10
I updated mine to latam generic version

[Q] Android 4.3

Maybe a noob question but i'm helpless.
I bought a brand new S4 with contract here in Germany, branding- and simlockfree, european model.
The problem is that I'm unable to update for 4.3. The current version on my phone is 4.2.2 I9505XXUDMH5 DBT (open Germany), CSC I9505OXADMH5. I receive no OTA notifications. Kies says that I have the latest firmware. In conformity to sammobile I should receive 4.3 I9505XXUEMJ5.
It's my second s4, the first one was replace due to a minor functionality problem. With the first one I did receive the update, but not with this one.
What am I doing wrong? Any help apreciated. Thanks.
I don't think you are doing something wrong.
as you are german:
http://ukonio.de/samsung-galaxy-s3-...rollout-update-firmware-mobile-digital-42632/
rollout is stopped for s3 & s4
so either you root your device and flash 4.3 or you keep 4.2.2 which is not bad in my opinion.
and for the future it is always a good idea to google your device together with "update" or something and display only news or new pages.
cheers

I suggest that you just keep on trying to OTA update on a regular basis. Samsung spreads OTA updates for a queue so sometimes you have to wait some time.

Need help -- Should I Root or OTA update first?

hello everyone,
I have a Galaxy S4 sgh-i1337M with Fido in CAanda. I would like to Root and enjoy my phone as it should be.
Before doing anything, I checked for software update on the phone in settings, and there is one that is 100.01 MB. Looking up that size, I think it has something to do with this number (my modem version??):
I337MUMUFNK1 -- which comes up when I search google for an update of that size which is OTA and for my phone.
Samsung and Fido and Google say to call the 'others' as they do not know what this update is for. WTF! Nobody knows what the update is for??
------------------------------------------
My phone info:
I am on 4.4.2
SGH-I337M locked to Fido in Canada
BASEBAND: I337MVLUFNE1
KERNEL VERSION: 3.4.0-1529758
[email protected] #1
BUILD: KOT49H.I337MVLUFNE1
------------------------------------------
The baseband seems to be what the update will modify??? (ignore this if its dumb)
MY QUESTION:
Should I root the way it is now and disregard the latest update?
Should I update the phone now, as I won't be able to receive OTA updates in the future and then Root? (I know I can always do whatever I want after rooting.....
it would still make sense to do this update now, then root as its just easier that way).
Thank you in advance to everyone who knows the answer to this and responds!

I dont think they are downgrading 8.9 hdx. i was told by 4 techs from amazon it was not possible(which is complete horse****) and they would send me a replacement. I have heard the same from others of them doing this as well. Crazy they would rather send out new device instead of hitting a few keys.
I would help, but I do not have 4.5.3, I am on 3.2.6...

Unfortunately this seems to be true, I searched yesterday threads here with rollback topics and found only Thor HDX 7" are successfuly rolled back. That would also explain problems ggow have when his Apollo HDX 8.9" device stopped working and he received new with 4.5.2 FW and Amazon was not willing rollback his new Apollo no matter what, they rather send him new device with older FW.
So it seems only way how to gain this rollback FW for Apollo device is that people with Apollo devices need to ask Amazon again and again with rollback requests, so they will be pushed to make one instead to sending them new devices...

@undulus, pls, pm me.
Thanks @ONYXis, I cant believe I missed that one! I even responded to @undulus several times in that thread
OK folks - dear HDX 8.9" owners, I believe a bunch of you are still on 14.4.5.3 and definitely want to root your device, so you can install gapps and use Google play, etc. Please contact Amazon support if you want to be downgraded (and help us catch this firmware (suppossed to be 14.3.2.8 (which is rootable via towelroot)))
1. here is how to contact Amazon support via chat
2. here are several examples how this chat looks like #1, #2, and also it is a good source of information about what to say, and what not to
3. dont mention you want to root your device, dont point them here on xda
4. Try again (may be 4-5 or more times, all depend on person who is chatting with you, some are skilled more than the others...) if they say they cant or wont downgrade you, if you are persistent enough - they eventually will do it
5. After successful downgrade, please contact @ONYXis via PM, and he will guide you how to proceed next
6. Thank you very much again for your help.
I picked up an Apollo today for $150 but it was already upgraded to 4.5.3 -- After an hour on chat with amazon, they have agreed to roll it back to a version 3.x
They said they submitted the rollback request and will send further instructions.
Let me know if I can help!

Yes! Perfect! Thank you very much, please wait, until your device is successfuly downgraded to version 14.3.2.x (x could be 7 or 8) and then contact @ONYXis via personal message (click on his name and then click "Send Message"), he will guide you through process of catching this downgrade firmware, so we can make this available for entire community. Or just post here, that your Apollo is downgraded and I will contact him and he will definitelly send you personal mesage about what to do next.
Thank you again. :highfive: :good:

Please give them another 24-48 hours (people here reffered that downgrade may be initiated between instantly to 5-7 days, so its up to you, if you will wait, or you may want to speed up the process a little, just chat with them again, and say that they need to speed things up...

Hello,

This is regarding your request to roll back your device to a previous software version.
I've sent a request to the technical team regarding the rollback of the software version of your device.
They've informed that we do not have an option to roll back the software version on your device model.
I apologize for any inconvenience caused. I have forwarded a feedback regarding this to the technical team. They will work on it and implement this feature soon.
We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thank very much for patience, this process of downgrading is sometimes very frustrating for end user, that's why we looking to catch this firmware also for Apollo users, so they can freely downgrade their devices - when they want and on their free will and without Amazon support interference...
It's understandable if you run out of patience and eventually give up on this for whatever reason... Just tell us here about your decision...
The more people will contact Amazon about downgrade - the more chance is somebody will be eventually downgraded, and with help from our devs we can end this ridiculous ritual of remotely downgrading...
Thanks
I reopened my rollback ticket with amazon, let's see what they say.
I have tried 3 different times and even dealt with supervisors but no luck. This is so frustrating! I still have 3 weeks to decide what to do.

How to downgrade ZC520TL from N to M

Hello all,
this is my first post on XDA so I hope I am doing everything according to the rules. If I do something wrong, apologies and I will do better next time.
So, I recently purchased a Zenfone 3 MAX in the US in a hurry out of necessity. So I was quite annoyed to find out that ASUS has hidden the ability to format the SD card as internal memory. However I found out there is a way to un-hide the feature via adb. But the procedure I found is tested to work with Marshmallow, and I had already updated the phone to Nougat. Indeed, the adb command has had no effect on my phone.
So, now I am trying to downgrade back to Marshmallow. I am definitely a newbie to this world, but I have been able to find this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/help/how-to-downgrade-zenfone-3-nougat-to-t3573241) thread, which contains a link to a downgrading procedure (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-164531-1-3.html). However, it is not for ZC520TL but for ZE520KL.
I was hoping I could use the same procedure for my phone, if I find the right firmware, but I am not sure I have been looking in the right places. The ASUS website has various firmware versions for the US and I assume the oldest one is Marshmallow (Version US-13.1.4.43), but the procedure above requires two different firmware files and I do not know enough to understand what is the difference and where I can find them.
Anyone can shed some light on this for me?
Thank you

Ask for it. A user in Canada obtained the downgrade. Please write in this thread and share it.

Thanks for your reply.
I have looked at the thread you linked, but I could not see any reference to someone successfully getting their phone downgraded to M by Asus. If anything some people in there stress how unhelpful is Asus with the whole thing. So I am not any closer to the solution than I was before.

Thanks for the link. I have looked around and found a firmware for the ZC520TL. However I am not sure it is the right one for me because it is my understanding that I need a firmware whose name starts with UL, rather than WW. I am not sure what would happen if I used firmware of a different zone. Moreover, I have been able to recover the right firmware from the ASUS website. What I need is the "RAW firmware" as defined in the procedure I have linked in my original post. But I don't know how that is different from the firmware. As I said, I am very new to this world.

WW stands for global firmware, however I am not sure what UL is for. You can contact the person in that website asking for your firmware. They will help.
