UNBOXING THE OUMAX S6 SMARTWATCH

WOW!
SO wow guys!
I just received the watch today, and it's currently on the charger. I will have a comprehensive review coming up in the next week. I got to tell you though. When i first opened the package up, The phone was cradled in a suede holster and everything felt really expensive.... like the watch looks like it costs $200 when you open the box. The device is only $50 on amazon right now, so me personally... i expected lower quality, but wow... blown away. Screen is REALLY bright too!
More info to come.
If you have questions about features let me know and i'll try to incorporate them in the review!

It isn't android... it's a similar interface to the iWatch. The device overall looks a lot like the iWatch

i WILL BE POSTING A VIDEO REVIEW SHORTLY in the Original Post!

Does it's impossibile to have whatsapp standalone on this smartwatch, right?

There are pro's and con's to every device. This device was not made for high-ram consuming apps. The initial launch of the watch only includes a messaging application to respond to text messages from ANY texting app...
You can receive whatsapp notifications as well as any messenger notification (like facebook) you just cannot respond to them yet. The developer is planning on rolling out updates of course in the future to make these things possible.
As of right now the watch runs FAST. ZERO LAG - Which is why i really don't want to root it and complicate anything.

Thanks a lot for your answer

Yeah it's similar, there are a few difference though:
-The band looks nicer on the S6 (it's a little wider, making it looks less square)
-The RAM is 24MB, on the Oumax it is 64MB, allowing for even faster operation over longer time
-The battery is 250mah on the zeblaze, battery is 350mah on the Oumax
Also the Oumax is Priced around $45 on amazon, where the zeblaze is around $60

most important difference: the S6 can take a simcard, where the rover can not (so can be used standalone or connected to a smartphone)
i guess that's why it has a bigger battery

what kind of connectivity does your watch have or what are you using to get data service on the gear S ?
you can put an actual sim card in this watch and use as a stand-alone device if need be

Sim card

Well there is a sim card slot so it should work fine as a stand-alone phone. do you have a duplicate sim card? so you basically have 2 lines of service but one of them goes to the watch? they use the same phone number?
I don't have a Gear S so i'm just inquiring. that is pretty cool - i would image the case being the same with the S6

No some how it forwards it to the watch. But the watch and phone have separate numbers and sims.

Hi,you can connect OUMAX S6 with your phone by Bluetooth, the contact number and message can by synced from your phone to your watch, it should be like this.

Yes it is, I was just wondering if anyone else was one of the original contributors. The first 200 were able to get it for a contribution of $99 and the next 2,000 were able to pick one up for a contribution of$149. I should be getting mine delivered in August as I got a chance to be one of the 2,000 contributors.

Well not sure on the watch, when you go through their slides on the home page they said tree colors instead of three colors. So what does that say about the product?

Its a French company and obviously the sites moderator/creator has a language barrier. They actually have a previous product that has been successful but it was geared towards being used as a workout companion paired with a smartphone.

Just a quick note to all, the Vea team slightly changed their design by using an LG screen which has several people pissed, although I personally still like it.
With that said, if any of you are interested, be on the lookout for some folks selling theirs since they do not want to keep the watch once it has been shipped.

Nice, didn't know they hit ebay already. Got mine in April and I can't complain too much about it, only problem I'm having is that my google account has authentication enabled so the gmail notifications don't work unless I remove the authentication, but otherwise it's pretty nice.
I've been in touch with the founder/owner and asked her if she feels the hardware is capable of carrying the Android 4.4w

[Q] What do YOU use your Nexus for?

I can't tell you how many times I have thought to myself "I wish I had thought/heard of that!" when hearing what someone has conspired to make their smart device do. For example the guy who discovered you could use a PS3 controller, or the fact that Splashtop even existed in the first place. Or THIS GUY. Post the awesome things you have figured out how to do with this or any other Nexus! It can be simply through Apps you have found, or all out customized craziness! I'll start, though it's hardly amazing, I installed Splashtop on my mums PC, I have saved SO MANY TRIPS to her house this way. She is one of those who calls at midnight to say that while she was using Internet Explorer she discovered that her PC is infested with a virus and needs to be repaired, and asks if should she click the box that tells her so?

I bought it for the idea of showing off, editing my pictures from my camera, I could see them, but I can't view them and zoom in out. The only thing that could be done is import them. I have it connected with a regular use cable from my camera to the usb dongle to nexus.

Need to leave my phone alone as a daily driver, but I plan to experiment with this device like no other.
So far? Watching low quality streaming video. Really loving that 1200p screen. /s
Also its great for textbooks. 2 full pages in landscape mode and it still looks great.
I bought the 2012 N7 when it was released and used it probably 3 times. One day it died and I couldn't turn it back on so I threw it in my night stand and forgot about it for over 9 months. When this new one was announced I told myself I would get it and force myself to utilize it for reading books and tech blogs on the train to/from work. I also started traveling more for work so I imagine it will come in handy on the plane as apposed to staring at the small N4 screen or dealing with my laptop.
Last week I pulled the old one out of the night stand, ADB'd it back to life with stock 4.3 and sold it for $130 on craigslist. Then I ordered the new one and since receiving it I've stuck to my plan and now use it to read books and tech blogs every morning on the way into work and every evening on the way home.
When the Chromecast arrives I'll use the tablet to stream netflix and other stuff as well.
Kind of ordered by most used.

eBook reading (Kindle App)
Lot of reddit in the crapper
Netflix / Dish (sling) / Local streaming on occasion
Casatunes (whole house audio control)
Monitor house cameras to see if my latest Amazon purchase arrived
Use it or my phone to control Boxee Box / Roku on occasion
Work:
OneNote (syncs my work/home notes) Allows me to call up crap I did in meetings since its always synced
Jump Desktop (RDP into my desktop from meetings) and/or Logmein from remote locations if required.
Juice SSH to connect to Servers.
Web browsing around the house or in bed
As a monitor for my DSLR
Reading tech blogs

And XDA of course!

WIME Nano Smartwatch, looks nice

Interesting Android smartwatch here. It can actually be used as a standalone phone, bands are GSM/GPRS Quad Band:GSM 850/900/DCS 1800/PCS 1900 MHZ (can this be used on AT&T?).
What I'm not seeing is if it can be used as a dialer for your phone, so you can just leave it in your pocket and make and receive calls like the Gear.
What do you guys think? I'm tempted to get it just to play around with.

Doing some further reading, yes you can initiate a call to your phone with it, woot! It also has music over bluetooth and local storage. It looks like it has no speaker/mic so you have to use a headset with it, boo, but that's ok.

That's not a bad price point at all... maybe a mini server or media player...
Feature phone software, bleh.
Although I guess for 100 bucks you can't expect it to run Android.
Edit: Hmm, just noticed no where does it say there's a speaker built in...guess you have to use a headset to use it as a phone.
Also only compatible with Android 2.3-4.0. Doesn't say it works with newer.

Strange, I was also surprised by that 4.0 rather then 4.x reference. And I think you are right about headphone 3.5mm jack as the only way to listen to the music. Would have been great if they would include a camera in there.

Haha, first thing that crossed my mind when i saw it.
Dunno why but personally i find most smart watches just tend to look either dull, or just plain awful. Maybe it's because of the space they have to work with? Dunno :/
You guys realize it's a phone? It might be nice to have as a backup phone, or if I just want a tiny phone. It doesn't run apps, but I never had much use for apps on a 1.5" screen.
It's interesting, I may grab one just to play around with. It seems to have AT&T bands. I don't plan on using it like a watch though, it's too ugly like that. I'd just stick it in my pocket or clip it on.

We're fully aware. It's just between recent offerings like the Omate Truesmart and previous offerings like every chinese watch phone out there, this one seems like too little too late to really make sense right now.
If you want a cheap feature-phone watch check out what's available to get a style you like. This one is pretty big and ugly for what it does.

So I got one and got to say this thing is a perfect companion for a phone at work. Built in mic allows you to answer on your wrist and be like I'll call you back it also has Bluetooth audio out and wireless headset support. Weird thing is contacts and messages won't work without a sim has to have one active or not I'm on Verizon so its pointless to try lucky I had art laying around and it vibrates!! This thing is sweet to be cheap!!!

Smart Sync Function: Can sync with smart phone, downloading phonebook and call history (iOS 4.0+ and Android 2.3+) to the device. When using Android 2.3+ OS, download and install the WiMe NanoSmart APK on the Android device and the NanoSmart will sync with the Android device (Google calendar events, new Gmail notification, call history, phonebook, sent/received SMS).
Have you tried to install WiMe NanoSmart?
I'm on 4.3 AOKP linario I can't say its bougus but the contacts sync but....... With out each and every number having the country code in it it refuses to call or message weird right? HI my main problem is the bluetooth is connecting and disconnecting continously, and at the end no auto connect and have to be paired again manually.
"Samsung Galaxy Express 2" with kittak 4.4
The same with BT Swatch, fundo, mediatek...
Try to uninstall or stop any other bluetooh stuff in the phone just in case, no success.
Any other with this problem?
Any idea how to fix it?
Thanks in advance
Is there a way to add clock faces/skins to this watch?
app for LEM1

I got one but I am not happy with it so far... I installed the app for it (BT Swatch) but I do not manage to get the "Messaging" work properly. The app crashes all the times I want to sync Messaging. Can someone help ? Any alternative software for this watch ?

Hi everyone
is it possible with this device to answer a call and talk on speakerphone through the watch ?
Thanks
Custom LEMFO LEM1
I want to add a metal band to it. I just ordered it. Does any one know of the measurements for the band in mm's. I want it to arrive on the same day.
Edit: Update
I got the watch and took a chance on a band. This is the outcome. To me this is the closest look to a huawei smart watch. All it would need is the ability to
have android wear. But I can deal with not having it for the price. $63 from amazon prime and 10 bucks for the band.
Hi, do you have the firmware that you can share? Thanks
Nah. Sorry
