Let me start ...
Advanced
EU Version
~April 2015
Official Jiayu Deutschland (Germany)
LP 5.1
Issues: None so far
Regards

- advanced
- CH version
- March 2015
- Jiayu-store.com
- KK 4.4.4 OTA 507
Phone works aok for me.
Note: can't use charger with less than one amp draw or touch screen flakes out.
Had to use name brand SD 64gig card from Samsung as it would not recognize generic SD card of equal size.

Basic
CH Version
~Mid of February
SpeMall
KK 4.4 20150430
Issues:
-Gyroscope is too sensitive and inaccurate.
-Magnetometer (Compass) is really bad, keeps spinning even if the phone is still. And doesn't show real north (actually misses too much).
-Slight pressure points on screen (Like when you press a bit harder, looks like when you press LCD monitor and "bleeds" a little). Probably isn't laminated well. It doesn't bother me so I just mention it.
And I hope someone will help me solve problem with gyro and compass!

Advanced
EU Version
~June 2015
Antelife (China)
Originally installed with 20150314 KK, since upgraded to superdragonPT's beta 3 and then unoffical 1Jul15 LP 5.1 - latter both working well
Issues:
Lower microphone only works in Sound Recorder/Video Camera, fails to work on calls or OK Google - suspect software glitch somewhere, but have ordered replacement USB/lower mic board, and will report back when fitted
Occasionally under KK (stock), when hitting the slider to unlock the phone it would 'stick' and the only way to resolve was to take battery out
Deezer does not work well under KK (stock) - have to keep screen alive to allow it to play one track then the next on an album, otherwise the second track will not load properly - suspect Deezer issue not optimised to work with octacore models

Basic
CH Version
February 2015
Aliexpress
(1/7 LP ROM)
Issues: Low Mic Volume Call. But Google Now works.

•CH Version
•Purchase date June 2013

•Rom / OS Version : KK 4.4.4 S3SW 20150314-141844
Works perfectly, no issues
(when I first received the device, it wouldn't detect my simcard and didn't have an imei stored, after I contacted support they advised that all I had to do was perform a factory reset and the phone would allocate its IMEI... I did so and now the phone is working perfectly)

one thing:
The GPS status program allows to calibrate compass (rotate all 3 axes). Does it help?

No my friend, I've tried everything and dozen of compass apps that "calibrate" this way and even some apps that are just for calibration.
I've seen however in engineering mode when going to msensor (magnetometer) it says with data is wrong so it might be broken sensor, but it is kinda unimaginable. I've seen many people report these two (gyro, compass) not to work correctly. Also, my friend got S3 and he has the same problem.

Accuracy 0.0 looks odd. Mine is 0.2 but also mentiones 'NOT GOOD'. It works though.

When I leave compass on table it keeps drifting, sometimes it can make few circles even though phone is still.
What ROM do you have?
And what are your experience with gyro? Can you try google camera and see if photo sphere works?
Cheers!

Very strange indeed. I fired up my engineering mode to see what I got, and it started the same, 0.0, NOT GOOD. but after about 90seconds, the green bar spiked and I got good data. See the attachment.

Is this values normal compare to yours?
Mine heats up also when playing online 3d games with heavy graphics, no overheating wile browsing (i'm talking about 3g and wi-fi though - don't use 4g).Have you tried to lower the CPU frequency to 1,5 for example. Some guys here thing it heats up because of the turbo function 2 cores are getting boosted to about 2.0 mhz. When needed. Don't know how to switch that off... If someone has solution is welcome to share.

Is there a way to know jiayu s3 manufacturing date in software?, maybe via engineering mode or some special code? (like, for example, "Phone INFO ★Samsung★" on Google Play Store does for Samsung)? Knowing date might perhaps help correlate hardware issues.

Good news - got the replacement lower USB/mic board today - swapped out easy enough, and now finally have a working lower microphone. Very pleased, fix cost about £5 from Vifocal (http://vifocal.com/usb-connector-with-mic-deputy-board-repalcement-for-jiayu-s3-smartphone.html), took 24 days to get here from China.
Now I can finally use the S3 as a phone, not just a tablet.

It's good to see that spare parts are available for the S3 (particularly with the future of Jiayu in question) and self repairs are achievable. I would choose a self fix if the parts are cheap enough rather than waiting weeks for warranty service anyway.
I have two devices and the LCD calibrations are noticeably different. On one the whites have a very slight pinkish hue(like red needs to be turned down a touch). It also has a very small amount of backlight bleed in the bottom corner which is more noticeable due to the backlight being white and the screen being slightly pink. Simple RGB calibration tools could correct this (like the franco kernel on the nexus devices) but so far I cannot find a tool to do this at kernel level so filter overlay apps are the only option and miravision doesn't help.
Has anyone else noticed backlight bleed or slightly pink screen? Admittedly it would be difficult to detect if you don't have a second device to compare it to.

Issues:
Well, at first, i was pretty excited when i received. I had to cut my old sim cards to micro sim.
And when i tried to connect them, the phone was not recognize them. My though: "Maybe it's because they are old sim cards, i asked to my operator a new ones".
While i was waiting, i've tried a micro sim from a friend, and it didn't recognize as well.
My surprise, when searching on the net, for this kind of problem, i dialed *#06# to see the IMEI, and both are "Invalid"..
Since then, i've tried many ways to restore the IMEI.
"#4634# - After put the IMEI, shows a message that IMEI was successful changed, but when i check, they are the INVALIDS again.
I've tried the IMEI_FIXING MTK. (with sn_gen.exe ) replacing the old file for the new one that is created. And nothing happens too. :crying:
My last thought, is to update my phone to that S3S Lollipop v5.1 – Release Candidate, and see if it fix the problem.
But, for now, it seems that ROM it has a some bugs..
Can anyone help me with this?
Many Thanks

[POSSIBLE FIX] Random Rebooting! Grr

***EDIT***
Well it would seem like my random reboots have gone away. Thanks to Tubgirl for the suggestion, but using Hastarin's 7.5R kernel with NO overclocking, AXI etc, it's finally stable once again.
In fact, I used that kernel with Darkstone's latest 3.2 build and the battery is crazy. I am getting approximately 7 hours of battery life for every 10% of the battery. That's with BT, data and all syncing turned on and basic use. That's around 3 days of life for a light user. Didn't even get that with winmo!
So for me - the moral of the story is stick to the clean, non overclocked kernels. As for speed, I cannot tell the difference (I don't play any games to be fair though).
***END***
For some strange reason, my phone randomly reboots at completely bizarre intervals when running Android. I can't put my finger on what it might be. So some questions!
- Does anyone else experience this?
- I'm running VBN RC3 Minimal WM ROM, might it be this?
- I'm running the 2.14 Radio is it this?
- I'm running mostly Mdeejay builds could it be them (happens with all of the one's I've tried)?
- Is it likely to be piece of android software?
- Is there any way I can find a log to see why it's rebooted?
Random Reboots
I have been experiencing this problem for about a month now. I have tried numerous roms and android combinations, as well as changed radios. The problem still returns no matter what combination I try. So I'm kind of
Could be a problem with your battery. Try replacing it.
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
i had same problem.. what i did was fully drain my battery, than recharged it fully on off mode, with cable plugged in turned it on that charged again till i saw green LED light
since than it worked nicely no random boot
give it a shot id say
cheers
My HD2 has never done it, but my mates has.
He contacted HTC on Thursday and they are repairing it under warranty.
It is a well known issue that affected around 3000 handsets in the UK apparently. They call it the "heat related reboot", and it involves replacing the motherboard and another component.
His has gone back, they sent a courier to collect it..
Mine has been randomly rebooting for about 2 weeks now.
It usually happens once a day when running Winmo or Android. Sometimes when it reboots I get a rectangular box across the bottom of the screen for about a second. I dont know if this is caused by the Radio Rom update or it is just coincidence.
I have swapped the battery but it has made no difference.
It's driving me mad.

I have sent them an e-mail describing my issue, quoting you I will see what they say. Hopefully they will sort it soon because my first year of warranty expires in one month!
Oh also, if I send it back for warranty, I suppose I'll need to revert it back to the 02 defaults and remove all traces of HSPL! Is this possible?
i have this problem too, under android and wm. Still testing to find out hwats causing it but looks more and more a heat issue, eventhough it does not heat that much.
unfortunately dont have warranty so not sure what i can do.
when i have an audio or video stream, or navigator thats when it happens mostly. but i had random reboots as well for no reason.
is there something on WM we can use to find out whats making it reboot?
i get this issue every once in a while when i go to sleep and wake up and its booted up in windows? its happened about 2 or three times but doesn't happen every day.
Me too!
I'm also experiensing this. It started just when the whole android hd2 thing started. I have this problem no matter what radio/rom I'm using (except from stock). Reboots in win. Android gives SOD/reboots. I've tried some reasearching in to this and found out that when I flash back to original rom/radio it's stable. Between every flash i do Task29.
I've tried different memory cards and even swapped the battery with a collegue.
Still the same. Funny thing if it suddenly are many people experiensing this problem..
Could it have something to do with android experiments?
Bad thing is that it would be difficult to send it in for repair since it's working with original rom/radio.
You should all try to flash a stock radio and rom to see if it still reboots.. Mine don't..

I use the same VBN ROM but this build [build]20.09.10||JDMS 1.3|FRF91 Latest Stable Nightly||RC11 WITH AXIS! and Radio 2.12. I dont have any problem (reboot, sleep of dead, no robot voice...)
I switched to the latest hyperdroid v1.6 and have not had this problem yet although It did happen to me a lot when I was running different builds (cant remember which ones sry) Try switching builds and also make sure you turn everything off in WM like bsb tweaks and radio all that stuff. Its weird but it helps considering that everything gets turned off when u hit clrcad.exe anyways but it has helped the stability of my builds.
Alot of us seems to get these reebots in win also...
I wonder if it's got anything to do with the overclocking with setcpu? Hmmmm....
i had this exact same issue , bought phone of eBay so had no proof if purchase . phoned htc they said its 100% covered under warranty , they had it back for repair for 5 working days . they also replaced the external casing as it had a few chips from a drop , they pretty much returned a brand new phone apart from the serial number sticker tomtom no longer recognised the device id so i had to reactivate my maps , so they have at least replaced the mainboard . top customer service ! give them a ring its worth a try they can only say no

nice is there a way to check warranty online? i also bought it from ebay? where you located?
i'm also experiencing this random reboot phenomenon.. happened only after i started experimenting with Android on my HD2.. now the reboot issue happens with WinMo as well.. i've been using the same radio, ROM and same builds..
btw, since jonboyuk mentioned it, i did play around with "setcpu".. could this be the culprit??
Hello..
I've noticed that my HD2 also reboots sometimes in Android. I haven't used WM for a long, so I really don't know if it also reboots in WM. My question is though, is this a hardware issue? Never had this sorts of reboots before starting this Android @ HD2 game. An answer (or just a thought) to this question, will help me, since I have to send my HD2 for a repair tomorrow, cause the microUSB slot is broke. But if the reboot issue is a hardware fault, then I should also report that, to the repair center.
Thanks.

[BUG] Dynamics v2.0 - WP7.8 RTM Bugs

hello, not a noob for installing stuff just reporting some issues im having with this rom.
So currently the install went fine on the focus (ATT device running on Tmobile). the device is rebooting at random times, i would watch it flash the goodbye screen wait for a few seconds then the samsung screen comes on. Another thing is my connection is reporting to be on the E (Edge connection i guess) even though im rated for 3G with tmobile but at the time i just recently turned on my data so maybe when my new pay period kicks in that would change so that ones iffy. Other than that the rom seems to be running fine.
Until your area gets a network upgrade on TMobile's 1900Mhz band, you are going to see 2G.
As far as the reboots, I have 3 focus's running this Rom on Straighttalk. NO reboots.

i know i get 3g before cause my father turned off the data plan when i wasn't working (and before i flashed the rom incase anyone asked), like i said i won't know until a couple of weeks as theres alot of extenuating circumstances which i can pin on Tmobile (my voicemail was kinda jacked up when i first joined).
Yea the reboot was just weird, i would just take it out of my pocket and i would noticed all of my pass tasks were missing even when i wasn't running anything on the background still does it, then last night i was on my computer look over to the right to my phone and it was restarting by itself . Also before i flashed, i had the same issue but not too frequently maybe once per 2 months.

I had similar issues when I was on T-Mobile about 6 months ago, but I am not sure but I don't think your issues are because of T-Mobile, try a reflash.

i cleaned before and after but heck reflashing helps too, i'll give that a shot tonight. Yea this rom is awesome, makes my focus still look shiny new
Here are the bugs I found:
1. The Clock Hub seems to flash every other time I look at it, as if it was flickering and loading up just then, not smooth.
2. The Clock Hub's code needs to be fixed to show AM and PM properly when the hour is 12. 12AM is shown as 12PM and the other way around too. Soon as it hits 1PM or 1AM, it's ok.
3. XBox avatar wakes up on the wrong side after shaking him down and he tries to pull the screen to the side. Shake your avatar, make him fall down, watch him get up pissed and pull the screen to a side. On the older stock rom, he pulled it correctly from left to right. In this ROM and the Tango ROM I got from here - he pulls it wrongly from right to left.
4. When I connected the phone to the computer, it detected it as a Samsung Omnia 7, instead of a Focus.
5. The image in Zune is a generic Windows Phone image, not the Samsung Focus as it used to be shown before.
6. When there's a phonecall, earlier it used to say "slide up to answer", why not anymore?
7. No charging sound/vibration when plugged in.
One request:
Can anyone find the original image from the stock rom from the 7 album, which had the person crossing their leg to form a 4, instead of the Mango image that has the latch with the 4 over it?

I found that the network profile does not work. The voice search does not work, also when u have a custom SMS tone it will not silence and also it will play when u are talking on the phone, and if you get more than one text it will play the sound for each sound all at once.

Your phone probably has bad NAND sectors. Aside from getting a new phone the only thing you can try is getting a very large SD card and hope that most of the data gets written to the SD card instead of the NAND. This is a common problem with the Focus I have noticed.

The Dynamics ROM uses a lot of Omnia 7 files as well as it's newer firmware which can cause problems, such as changing providers with the diagnosis app via the provxml trick. The reason voice search doesn't work is because of ultrashot's SearchKeySettings package. If you want that to work you will have to use a ROKM that doesn't have that included.

I had the same problem with my new Galaxy S4 that I bought on 8 of may in 2013.
In the beginning, the camera work fine, but after several minutes, on each time that I tried to open the camera aplication it had black screen with an error message.
I tried to exit the battery and return it, it didn't help.
I tried to rebot to manufacturer settings, at the first couple of minutes the camera work fine, but later the black screen appear again at each time I open the camera application.
Here is a link to youtube that show the same problem that I had :
Search on youtube "samsung galaxy s4 camera fail"
What can I do ?
I am having the same problem with my s4; tried system update, factory reset... maybe i need to try to flash my firmware. so disappointed with Samsung. a flagship phone shouldn't have this problem!
to be safe, getting it exchanged... i never bought insurance before but it looks like i might need to if i am sticking with the s4.
It's a known problem. Loads of people have it. You'll just have to wait for Samsung to fix it.

From today speaking to a guy who repairs samsungs this is a hardware issue. Reboots and factory resets seem to fix the issue but the root of the problem is the the camera module either not correctly attached/or soldered to the connection so when rebooting or resetting the phone the movement of the device in your hand or laying the phone face up briefly re-connects the module to the device. I'm awaiting my new device as my carrier told me a few people have had this issue also.
Hope that helps

no it dosent.. it just crashes.. with a black screen!
I have taken several pictures with my 2 days old GS4 but in one occasion when I opened the camera and switched from the front camera to the main, the phone froze and reboot it self :/
I hope i only was a one time failure and not hardware or software relate.
Cheers
There are several other topics created for this issue Slow or reboot when opening camera apps and [Q] Galaxy S4 - reboot launching camera from lockscreen
So far, temporary fixes are limiting the background processes to 4 from the developer options in the settings menu and disabling air view options and smart screen options. This has worked for me, I haven't experienced any other reboots but the lag is still present and sometimes when enabling both cameras feature the app would freeze.
I'm not sure whether this is a hardware or a software issue but nevertheless most GS4s experience lag with the camera app, especially those on the octa version, the GT-I9500. I bought the phone internationally, not using a carrier and switching mine will be a pain; therefore i really hope it's a solvable software issue.
This happened to me yesterday. I tried factory resets, going back to stock with Kies, clearing data, but nothing works. I thought it was because of something
I flashed yesterday, but that wasnt it. Sad it happened so quickly and hopefully it can be fixed.

He doesn't work for Samsung he just repairs them independently so he is speaking from experience. But I have since asked another independent business and the toldme the same. My problem has now stopped buti believe could be fixed due to my new case on the phone pushing the camera module slightly in place? Who knows but I am replacing incase it happens again (really don't wanna be lumbered with an s4 with a broken camera)

Were you receiving any warning messages?. As I dug into this problem I've found there are 2 error types. In the 1st scenario the camera would crash and a message would be displayed. The 2nd one, would just turn the screen black after accessing the camera app and after a few seconds the phone would reboot.
If a message is displayed then it's most likely a hardware issue. If the phone restarts without warnings then disabling air gesture options and smart screen options along with disabling a few samsung apps temporary solved the matter, therefore being a software misbehave. It's not a permanent solution but until sammy releases a patch this could be a small fix.

I have the first scenario. What would actually cause this? Flashing wouldn't cause it, would it?

Mine did both loaded camera app then black screen with message after a few seconds "warning:camera failed" then one time the phone didn't reboot it simply froze until I force restarted it. I'm getting replacement tomorrow evening as I use my camera a lot when I don't have a dedicated camera with me

Fix for Nexus 7 2013 (flo) Touchscreen Glitches

For a long time now my Nexus 7 2013 (flo) 32gb has had this annoying touchscreen glitch where it will get false readings causing it to push buttons I didn't want to press, zoom when I wanted to scroll, and generally make it unusable unless I rebooted (which on some occasions didn't fix the problem). After doing some research, I found that it seems to be a common enough problem, but there was only one thread that claims to have fixed it. Now, to be honest I didn't try his method, as frankly it looked long, complicated, and I never found the time. Yesterday the thought occurred to me that the screen may actually be picking up real interference, and that it may just simply be to sensitive, so I set about to decrease the sensitivity on the device. To decrease the sensitivity ( THIS REQUIRES ROOT) I used root explorer (you may use any file explorer that can access root files) and went to the folder "/system/usr/idc" and opened the file "touch_dev.idc" in a text editor. In this file I found the line "touch.pressure.scale = 0.0125" and changed the value from 0.0125 to 2.5. I then saved the file and rebooted. Since doing this I have not had the touchscreen glitch, and I have been using the device for a little over 24 hours now. I used to get the glitch about 3 times a day. I will continue to test this config, to see if it actually does fix the problem, but due to the nature of the problem, the only way to know if this fix works, is to use it over a long period of time. I will remove this post if the issue ever returns and I am not able to fix it using a similar method.
Notes:
* the directory is "/system/usr/idc/touch_dev.idc"
* increase the value of "touch.pressure.scale" to decrease the screen sensitivity
* make sure you have write privileges (in root explorer, don't forget to hit the R/W button before opening the .idc file in a text editor)
* don't forget to save the file
* after saving the file, reopen it to make sure the change took place, if it didn't make sure you have write privileges and actually saved it
* don't forget to reboot for the changes to apply (I'm not sure if its necessary, but am willing to bet that it is)
* this should work with other versions of the nexus 7 flo, not just the 32gb
* I am not liable for any damages caused to your device (you should know this by now)
*I have only tested this on one device, as it is the only one I have access to with this problem
* If this fix works for you, please let me know below, feedback is appreciated
* I didn't return the device, simply because I lost the receipt, and don't know if the warranty is still in place
Edit:
This does not work, after more testing issues returned. But I will continue to try different values to see if this can fix the problem.

Don't bother adjusting any further, it's a very well known problem and has nothing to do with this, put it back to it's default and then use the fix mentioned in this forum, (the software touchscreen driver fix). It's simple, takes about 5 mins, doesn't require root and actually works. TS10 solved 99% of my problems, which were pretty severe before.

Ok, yeah I'll have to do that. I posted this a bit early, as I was seeing positive results at first and got excited. Thanks.
yes, there are 3 different fixes posted, ts10, ts20 and ts30.....and there are a couple of others in that thread too. I found the experiment ts18 worked best for me. ts10 was an improvement, ts20 better, and and ts30 too sensitive. after sticking with ts20 I decided to try the additional ones and so far 18 is best for me.
try the 3 main ones....and use the one that works best......if you still see little bugs in it, then try the experimental ones closest the 10 or 20 or 30 that worked best for you. I feel like I have a brand new device since running this fix on mine. You don't have to be rooted, but you do have to be unlocked.
I have a wifi 32 gb model manufactured Sept 2013
Question, I originally bought a n7 lte (deb) in November 2013. Don't know manufacture date. Had to return for hardware failure in the touchscreen and the replacement was manufactured in November 2013. So far I have not seen the same touchscreen issues I had with my original (ghost touches, touches not registering etc). Should I try to use the fix in that thread or leave well enough alone? Tia

Well that's really up to you. If it works fine then you don't need a fix.... But if there are glitches.... Well you know where to get a fix.

Okay, but you do know there are SEVERAL different issues with the touchscreen & that thread only will fix (partially fix as everyone I know that has tried it, still has occasional issues) one of three or more issues. There is also a grounding issue, that your reference WILL NOT FIX. There are also issues with the ribbon cable placement, which was my issue & several others, which requires opening the case & either reattaching the cable or reinforcing the connection at the terminal, which fixed mine & a few others. Just saying, I wouldn't blindly state that "this fix" will solve all your issues.
can anyone provide a flashable patch to try? Thanks
This problem is starting to annoy me really badly D:
I have seen different types of issues on my N7 2013 - 32gb. I tested using YAMTT app.
1. touch will not be registered at certain areas or ghost touches - this is worse with stock rom the tablet came with. the best solution for stock rom is to either try ts10, ts09 etc. or try different roms. I finally settled with AOSB rom with Glitch kernel, working fine.
2. touch will work fine if you hold the tablet in your hand or have it connected to usb or headphones. but wont register or see ghost touches if you keep it in a flat place and use it - (grounding issue) - there are various fixes i have seen. (a) remove the tablet and do fix (b) try different magnetic cases if you use one (c) some report that ts file fixes fix these too.
Mine still have this issue. I use it by holding it. Have to try the fixes above sometime.
3. Touch is too sensitive - I believe that is what OP suggests a fix. Sometime when i was scrolling through emails, suddenly a click registers and it goes inside an email. I will try this and report.
Even if one of the above fixes work, after some time if you see problems again, do a reboot and it will be back working normal again. I am still not convinced if it is just a software issue or a hardware issue or both.
This seems to have helped with the 'jumpy' touch issues I've been having. It could also be because I just rebooted for the first time in over a month.
I set mine to 3.0, for me its a lot better than 2.5
Can you (or someone) please post a direct link to the main thread (or others) - I am having a little trouble locating. Thanks. By that I mean main thread mentioned in 2nd post regarding T10 etc
This seems to be it:

Nexus 7 unresponsive screen or reaction without touching
Started having trouble with my Nexus 7 2013 not responding to touches or sometimes just entering characters not touched when doing keyboard entry. Thought it might be sensitivity issue, but checked one of the posts on line here and found that mine was actually set more sensitive than the suggested amount. Thought it might be a software issue as it really started getting bad after update to Version 5.0.2. I found that it seemed to be worse after notices that some of the apps had updated. My solution albeit imperfect was to start deleting apps until I found the problem. Not sure which it is, but it appears to be some of the in built apps that come from Google. I forced stop on several of these like play movies and books and did the uninstall procedure. Like magic, my Nexus started responding like if was just out of the box. Unfortunately, Google has these set so that they evidently run automatically when the tablet is turned on and update by themselves (which seems to have the effect of turning them back on as well). In any case, when I start getting sensitivity issues like it not responding to areas of the screen or not swiping, I go to apps and go through the list forcing a stop on all I don't use (especially You Tube) then uninstalling (only option seems to be going back to factory versions). Nexus then works OK until the next "automatic" update, I actually use (i.e. enable) one of the apps or turn the Nexux completely off and reboot. At least it is less frustrating doing this every week or so than having a non-responsive tablet. If anyone knows how to "permanently" kill these Google apps or at least turn off the auto-start and auto-update functions, I would be pleased to hear it. By the way, the best I can tell, stopping these does not seem prevent You Tube videos playing or any of the other tablet functions from working, but maybe utilizing them from a browser or whatever is what triggers them coming to life again. I'm a novice so I don't know.

True. Its fast. And snappier. Battery seems to be doing better.
How about the touch sensitivity issue? Is it still there?

So far so good. def alot faster now.. even my connection went up..
Tablet bought in Germany but not used there, just got the 1.4 Gb MM update. (see you free space on internal memory before upgrading).
I have notice incredible speed after update but to be fair already there were alot of lag with the tablet (probably something I had installed ...). Apps now, start almost instant like it should on such specifications.
Can't say about battery yet but it seems the settings for saving went away and you could not activate saving other than at 5, 10 or 15 % battery.
A new setting on audio has appear DSEE HX, something that try to upgrade normal mp3 to HD sound quality. Activating this will deactivate ClearAudio+, dynamic normaliser ...) I didnt test it because I use flac uncompressed
Phone has change layout (subject to each person taste) and if you recorded an answer response on your answering machine you will lose it after upgrade (but you don't lose previous recorded messages)
I can confirm that wake up from power but mostly from keyboard (any key) is instant. After some time of inactivity it wakes slower but at practical interval to use (compared with before).
I love to set individual permissions since I have uninstall some apps because of "too generous" permission list.
Camera app: amazing UI upgrade. Where it was so cumbersome to use now is amazing easy to switch. Swipe up anywhere on the screen, can't comment on picture quality as I did;t test it.
I have also noticed less finger prints on the screen and less glare since the update! Amazing job SONY!
... just joking
Hi all,
Just updated my Z4 tablet (Generic Central Europe CE1) and as soon as I launched it for the first time, I encountered few issues. First of all, my SanDisk 128GB card initialized as corrupted. Gave it a try dismounting and mounting again a couple of times no luck and eventually ended up backing up the data on my netbook and reformatting it using the tablet running the Marshmallow. So far so good. Second and the most important of all, I experienced Google Play Store FCs and it still persists. Have been playing with it all day long trying almost everything: clearing both Google Play Services and Google Play Store as well as Google Framework cache, data and uninstalling all their updates rebooting the machine after each step still no luck. Removed my Google account and relogged again, didn't work. Also tried installing the latest version for both the Store and the Services still nothing. I literally have no clue now and am left with no idea at all what is going on?! I recall similar issue with my Z1 the other day but simply updating the Google Services solved the whole drama in an instant. I would be grateful if anyone could help me out with this neverending story.
Thanks in advance,
Jack

Anyone facing bugs in 6.0 on the tablet? My exchange pushmail was working in 5.0.2 but after 6.0, it doesn't connect to the server anymore. deleting and recreating and even nine mail or mailwise couldn't connect to the server. I initially thought it was the server that didn't support 6.0 so i borrowed another brand phone with 6.0 to test and it worked so it's due to Sony's version of the 6.0..

Yes, I faced a bug with my L2TP/PSK VPN-connection. This wouldn't work on 5.0.2 and it didn't work on 6.0 either. It's apparently a known issue on Xperia's, even the Z5 has it on MM.
Luckily, I was able to fix it by selecting Advanced Settings > Backward compatible mode: Enabled.
