I can't test it actually! My phone was at customer service (bricked for a stupid tentative!). When return i will test this method!

I have no certainty . But if my brother can go from ubuntu to Flyme I think we can do the same from the international version of the phone .
You cant put ubuntu on flyme meizu mx4. It is only for ubuntu mx4. If you have ubuntu mx4 you can put flyme, and not vice versa
But so we can put flyme on ubuntu mx4 isn't logic we can't go from flyme to ubuntu.

The phone aren't loked like normal MX4. More then 1 user in the Meizu Forum write a method for install FLyme on Ubuntu Edition, just check and watch the photos (the imei is the same)
MX4 Ubuntu to Flyme 4.1.1A
The method mentioned https:// lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg13848.html works, but as referred, for the moment, you can't upgrade from Flyme 4.1.1A.
I've tested with a EU phone (made in china, shipped from Italy).
- 1.st activate adb in Ubuntu Phone (System Settings, About this Phone, Developer Mode)
If linux adb desktop also add "x2a45" to .android/adb_usb.ini
- Download adb.zip referred in the chinese URL, recovery.img is inside
- After Flyme rom installed.... recovery will be back to Flyme recovery

what does it mean? can we have dual boot?
I also have the international version, can I install ubuntu?

Hey!
I went through almost every firmware of Flyme MX4, and the only working version was as "ruilapa" mentioned Flyme 4.1.1A. But, I didn't give up and keep trying until I got Flyme 4.0.4A working perfectly with my MX4 Ubuntu M461 phone, and most importantly that I got an OTA upgrade to 4.2.8.2A :good:
So now, I am running Flyme OS 4.2.8.2A Android 4.4.2 on my MX4 Ubuntu Edition

Could you please share a detailed instruction how-to flash Flyme on MX4 M461. Where did you find Flyme 4.0.4A? Was the Flyme 4.0.4A working really perfectly, as the guy from launchpad had some issue with colors: lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg14056.html

I have followed the instructors in this link lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/msg13848. html , and got the recovery.img of Flyme from the internet.
I also had a look at that guy in the link that you mentioned, but for me, Flyme 4.0.4I didn't work for me, but Flyme 4.0.4A worked instead.

Don't download it. It contains many bloatware. It's just like flyme with a MIUI skin. I think the developer is just trying to get money. By using patchrom, no stock bug could be fixed. You have been warned. Sent from my MX4 Pro using Tapatalk
This is just a skin on top of Flyme, and is based on kitkat flyme version 4.2.8.2.. Because it's a patchrom (not a custom rom like CM or omnirom) they will never be able to optimise because under the miui skin the firmware is still flyme (old kitkat version) with its problems and the skin itself adds even more problems. Since they don't have the source for flyme they will never be able to fix the problems with this rom, and they haven't even made the miui skin to work fully. Its very buggy and slow even compared to the old stock flyme 4.2.8.2. My recommendation is just stay with your current flyme firmware or upgrade to 4.5.5/4.5.6 which is very fast and in my opinion is the best flyme release yet for mx4 pro, and wait for the devs of cyananogen mod or omnirom to fix the sound

I saw that once you upgrade to 7.0 (for example v7.2.9) that bootloader will be automatically locked, and we will have to unlock it once again. Can anyone confirm if this is true,

Still, about my personal experience, I migrate from custom roms to MIUI 7.1.12 and back atleast twice a week. Its not the case. And given the reason neither its supposed to be. You can clear your doubts.

Click to expand... Click to collapse No worries, I flashed today without knowing above and my bootloader still unlocked. After flashing gapps I get lots error messages. Otherwise no big difference in miui. Worked ok with supersu 2.79 and twrp 3.0.2

yep, xiaomi took android 7.0 and transformed it to MIUI 8 based on 6.0 i was hoping at least for display resolution support from 7.0 but no, you still have to edit build.prop and distort apps and icons in default theme. i don't need 6.5" screen because of 1cm fonts

Nougat update for phab 2 series
Does anyone know how to update the android version of our phab 2? I got mine with android 6 m. I tried the system update but it i dont know what did it update? Firmware? I thought it will update the android version from 6 to 7 ..wth So does anyone here got their phab 2 an update for android 7?

Click to collapse ARCore from google that it gonna replace tango will work on every phone above android 7... so that means,even if phab2 pro was ment to be the first AR Tango will left out of all these while it has extras on its hardware for exactly that reason. At least lenovo should put the kernel source and whatever else needed so some brave XDA dev can make some custom rom or bring somehow the nougat in the phab2 pro... at least Lenovo let XDA do your job!
I don't think these phones will update to 7. At least not yet. Operating speed is only 1.3 quad, personally I'm happy with its performance.
Disappointing these are stuck on Marshmallow and can't get Nougat or Oreo.
