Wear notifications - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm new to android wear and can't seem to find a way to keep notifications (text, hangout) from lighting up my screen. Actually, I wouldn't really even mind if the screen lit up as long as there was not a preview card visible. I know there is a setting in the wear manager app, but it doesn't seem to do an anything with respect to hiding text notifications. My concern is privacy. I really don't want others reading my messages when a text comes though. Any ideas?

Force Vibrate notification on watch

Is there an app similar to "notification center" on pebble, where I can force the watch to vibrate when I get a notification from certain applications?
For some reason I just can't get certain apps to vibrate (and I just see the notification, which is no good because I just miss it).
I don't know if those apps are poorly written or set wrong or what.
Other apps vibrate - so it's not a general problem. I shouldn't have to be screwing around with so many settings like this.
I'm fairly happy with my Moto 360, but missing important notifications is a dealbreaker, and I might be forced to go back to my Pebble.
Anyone know of an app that can do this? I don't mind paying for one.

Found one that worked: Augmented SmartWatch Pro.
It seems that wechat doesn't send a "vibrate notification" so it breaks android wear.
Instead it just does a normal app vibration.
Augmented works similar to "Pebble notifier" where it sends a vibrate notification to Android wear.

[Q] Change the time that notifications display?

I find that notifications on Android Wear disappear way too quickly for me. I'd like to adjust the time they stay on screen before it reverts to my watch face. I searched for a long time to find any setting/app that will do this, but so far no luck.
I know some apps (like watch maker for example) allow smaller cards to be displayed over the watch face itself.... but these cards never disappear, which isn't ideal either.
Any other suggestions/ideas?

going crazy! (System UI) Notifications

Hey this question seems simple initially, but how do you disable SystemUI notifications? I'm talking about that grey notification that shows up on the lower part of your screen right over your keyboard. Whenever I start downloading something or quickly switch apps, it always seems to pop up and display some stupid arbitrary message. It's incredibly ANNOYING when you need to type something quickly and it's covering your keyboard. Does anyone know how to disable this? I've been using Android for over 5 years and I still haven't been able to figure this out lol.
I'm not sure if you're rooted or anything and I haven't tried it directly, but you can try the EnhancedToast Xposed Module. By description, it'll log the messages that display and then you can disable them as you see fit. Give it a look here EnhancedToast I hope this helps!

Know of a way to colorize/theme notification icons for second screen?

I picked up an LG V20 recently, and am loving it. I see it lacks an LED notification light, instead relying on the second screen to show notifications when the screen is off. Apps like Textra let me theme the color of its notification, which makes it much easier to identify at a glance. Was wondering if anyone knew of a way to theme or replace (for example WhatsApp or Hangouts notification icons to be a different color. Thank you very much for any suggestions.

I still think it'd be great if there was a way to make the whole 2nd screen flash a solid color at maximum brightness a few times because yeah it grabs your attention more so than a static icon
I found this thread through a search. I am wondering the same thing as I evaluate a V20. The email notification icon on the Second Screen (I use the Stock email app) is very small. Is there any way to make this larger at minimum and best case, flash continuously like a notification LED which the phone otherwise lacks? Just making it the size of the other Second Screen app icons would be a big help. I would prefer not to try rooting/customizing as I am not confident in my skills and am concerned about bricking the unit.

S10+ - Not receiving notifications

Howdy everyone!
I am having an issue with my S10 not displaying notifications. The only notifications that work is the Messages app. When the phone is on a black screen, the Message app is the only one that will display and notify.
I want my other apps... Nest, Wyze, Meross, etc to do the same as the messaging app.
I have googled for hours and tried almost everything i can think of.
Help?
Are your notification settings turned on for each app under settings then notifications?
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I checked for each app.. I have even compared to the actual message app that came on my device.
Beginning to notice this issue also
Since the April Update this happened. Looks like its not an "issue" but a system change.
There used to be a setting where you could turn the messages on/off etc...
For instance, i like that my edge panel lights up, and i get the icon on screen that i have a message.
My wife likes that message to be displayed on the screen so she can see it without having to actually go to it.
Now there is a little messges overlay for the stock app that pops up, similar to FB messenger, I actually like this idea, but that seems to be a huge change and i cant find the setting to revert to the old way.
