[Q] 3rd party s-view covers - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

is it possile to make a 3rd party s-view cover work with note 4? Like with the note 3 there was an xposed module for it.

I have it working on KitKat with Synapse and a kernel with the hack in place (I'm using Nadia). Works a treat.
Here's the link where I found out about it.

Problem with quicksettings and toggles

Good day all!
I've been searching around and have been able to find a reason or solution to my problem and I'm wondering if I did something wrong. I have an AT&T S4 (i337) that I have unlocked and rooted and installed the i9505g 4.3 version. I really love the stock Google experience and was really into it until I noticed that in the menu I seem to be missing interface controls under the settings menu to add toggles to the quick settings. I haven't been able to determine if that's something I did wrong during installing the rom or I simply can't turn things like auto-rotate off on a stock google rom, though it seems very silly to me.
I was using a Task650 rom on the GS3 and I really liked it so I attempted to install an SGH-i337 Task650 rom on my phone, which works great and I get access to edit the toggles but the S-view case doesn't work on that rom since it isn't based on the stock google kernel for the i9505. I was wondering if someone could help point out my mistake on this one, or if we really don't have those toggle options and need to rely on 3rd party solution.
Cheers!

[Q] SView Cover functionality in AOSP-based ROMs

Hey gang, I was considering purchasing spigen's new slim armor with the sview cover on it. The problem is, I no longer use the touchwiz based roms anymore. Will the sview functionality (the little preview window) work on an AOSP-based rom? Or is that a samsung specific functionality?
Oh and if it doesn't work out of the box in AOSP does anyone know of an xposed mod or anything else like that that would enable it?
Thanks,
Nico

S-View still works with AOSP but it is limited to just calling. The clock works but text messages & timers & such to not display because it only works with samsung apps.

[Q] Open/close of cover on Cyanogen Based roms.

[Q] As above peeps. Im currently running a Samsung based rom and the open close of the cover kills the screen....but not on the AOSP based roms....is there an app for this or is there some functionality in the aosp rom that I can use to switch this on - if I can then id rather go the aosp route.
Cheers to anyone that chips in.
I'm using cm11 snapshot m11, device turn on/off works fine with s-view cover. You can also install hal monitor if you want more features..

App for turn ON/OFF the SCREEN with a 3rd party FLIP COVER

Hi !
As you can read in the title,I was looking for an app that turns ON and OFF the phone with a non-SAMSUNG flip cover.
I have some "BIG" questions :
- Is there a way to make s-view work with every flip cover (maybe using an app) ?
-Is there an app that turns ON and OFF the screen using some sensors (proxymity, light, etc.) so it can work with ANY flip cover ?
-Is there an app that copies/fakes s-view functions ?
Now,I have some partial answers for my questions : I found some apps on the play store that do what I asked before but I every app uses the proximity sensor so I think that the battery will drain faster.
Here are the links to the app I found :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobius.rainbow
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zalio.android.cso
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gbolger.covercontrol
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobius.fliponlite
Since I don't have a flip cover with a window,I'm trying this app :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.zalio.android.cso
I don't knowif it drains the battery too much or it doesn't so I'll edit the post and I'll keep you updated.
If you know something more or if you are using some kind of app/apps for s-view functions or for locking/unlocking the screen, please post a play store link to the app/apps.

Touch to answer

OK forgive me if this is somewhere and I just missed it
This is my first LG phone, I have had S devices from the captivate to the S4 active. In both the S3 and S4active there was an option in accessibility to allow touch to answer not swipe. Is there an option or a mod that will allow this. At least short of installing a new ROM. I kinda like stock LG with the xposed kernel and G2 tweaks.
sent from a place using an app
