Thanks a lot for the link. I just updated my Indian XT1092 Moto X with this file and it worked!!!.Here is a screenshot for proof:-

So, will this work on any xt1092? Or is it locked by region somehow? I have reteu and as I understand its only out for retfr, retde and retain.

Download and give it a try, if it's the right version for you only then will it succeed with the flash or else it would fail at the beginning without any change to your device. Just flashed on the Indian XT1092 and it worked fine. Thanks again OP

Safe to try on a retfr?

Hi everyone. I have a xt1092 reteu but I have no idea how to flash the update manually.
Anyone able to guide me thru the process or perhaps a link to some guide please? Complete Android newbie and my phone has been suffering severe battery drain so I'm hoping the 5.1 update will solve the problem. Thanks in advance

You have to install it from recovery via adb sideload or copying this file to sdcard and update.

Happy because i'm using Moto G 502 Brazil not GPE.
How does it works so far? I'm planning to update my GF's Moto G from 5.0 to 5.1
In the Nexus 5 the difference between both versions is huge (in performance). But 4.4.4 ART is still the fastest IMO...

OTA Update does not appear to include a new Bootloader.
I have a MotoG GPE 5.0.1 with root and xposed. If i want to upgrade to 5.1, I must downgrade to 4.4.4 (skipping gpt and bootloader command) and update to 5.0.1 and 5.1 or there is a faster process than this?
Could this mean that "plain" moto g (2013) *will* be updated to 5.1?

Nope, just uninstall xposed and modules, unroot, flash stock recovery and use adb sideload to install
but
You can flash 4.4.4 gpe, than ota 5.0.1 and again sideload to 5.1 if you want clean install.

First of all, can you pull the 5.0.1 GPE recovery? because I did that whole process and it keeps telling me when I sideload the OTA that the recovery is wrong, so if you could pull the 5.0.1 recovery and post it here you'd help a brother out
BTW, yes, if you rooted or modified the system you must downgrade back to 4.4.4, OTA to 5.0.1 and then OTA to 5.1.
If you're all stock then you're good to go
Please try and pull the recovery, thank you

it's possible to use with a Claro (Chile) MotoX2014?

I have an XT1097 directly from Motorola, (not telcel), but it's converted to XT1095
Is it possible to install this OTA to bring it back to it's real estate? (I don't have any backup of the original firmware)

No, it will fail. You have to wait for the OTA. But I doubt claro will get it, claro and motorola had a fight, and now claro does not sell motorola phones... which means claro's motorola phones might not get updates ever.

No, flashing this OTA will not revert your phone back to stock 1097. You need to download the full firmware for 1097 and flash it to get back to stock.

I don't think this is the official release because the kernel is one month older than the other "official" OTA's. Looks more like the soak before the final release.

If you're already on the stock 5.0 firmware (22.21.17.victara_retmx.retmx.en.MX), then you just need to flash the OTA via recovery.
If you don't know how to enter the recovery, just search for instructions, they're pretty easy to find, even videos.

You can install it using RSD or manual install. Here is a tutorial for flashing it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-moto-x-return-to-100-stock-using-t2446515
Be careful since the manual steps only install 7 system partitions, and this includes nine, just add those two more steps and you are good to go.
Way faster than FileFactory. Hopefully RETCA 6.0 will be added soon. Even though I already updated by OTA, I always like to keep a backup of stock firmware.

It depends, if your bootloader is locked and your are on 5.1, then no you can't flash this. If your bootloader is unlocked you can flash it. If you are on 4.4.4 or 5.0 with a locked bootloader, you can use kingroot and sunshine to unlock your bootloader, then you can flash it.

Is there a version compatible with RETUS?
Hi guys,
I been reading the forum for few hours but unable to find the answer to this question. Hope you guys can help me.
I got Moto X 1092 with 5.1 and unlocked bootloader. I have rooted and change system files before so I am unable to update to MM by OTAs. I'm planning to manually flash MM
My question is:
1. After I flash, would the bootloader be locked back?
2. Can I skip to flash the bootloader? Would there be any issue if I skip? Which file is it, boot.img?
Please help me as I don't want to do the wrong thing and bricked my phone.

No, the bootloader will not be relocked.
If you're upgrading from 5.1 to 6.0 you cannot skip flashing the bootloader, which is motoboot.img. There is a full stock firmware of 6.0 for the XT1092 at the link in the OP, that's what you should flash. You will lose root, and since I never root stock, I don't know what works for stock MM.

I would advise the opposite. If someone can get an OTA update.zip then a customized zip that does NOT wipe out recovery could be created. I am curious if they lose fastboot but am 90% certain they also will. It seems to be the direction Alcatel is going.
I honestly am getting better performance/service out of my $60 ZTE Zmax2 than my Idol3 nowadays with the exception of not having root.

Well, a security update, it says so in the description
It brings it up to date to the august security bulletin, see https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoX/comments/58a1hf/moto_x_2014_eu_retail_august_security_update/
I wonder if this update resolves the Bluetooth issues, had chance to test anything? At 188mb I cant see this only covering a few months of security updates.
I hope that it has some bugfixes.

I've gotten the same update, in the same country. It just brings the August security patch to your phone, but the system remains under 6.0 Marshmallow.

I think you can flash any Victara XT109x firmware on a Moto X 2014 (as long as you don't downgrade the bootloader or partition table), but you may need the modem/baseband for your region/carrier.
Again UK xt1092 left out?
where can i get the root boot for the last update for xt1092?
Thanks
Pff this is the second time the update screen says "6.0.1" and it turns out to be 6.0.0. I'd love to get 6.0.1 because it fixes the delay between selecting text and the options dialog popping up AND new emojis (I'm seeing a lot of [X]'s in posts and comments these days..). Oh well. Guess I'm going to block the Moto Update Services app for now, check back in a few months..
Just wanted to drop a link to the OTA that I copied from my device:
https://stor4ge.rejh.nl/_stored/var...ictara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU-from-24.201.3.zip
To be clear: this is the OTA update for XT1092 devices running 24.201.3 victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU and should update it to 24.221.7
I'll probably update this link later on and point it to Mega.nz
UPDATE: Here's the Mega link:

Cheers
