[Q&A][N900W8] Can i replace my dead logic board with from another model? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello and thanks for looking at my question.
My Canadian Note 3 model N900W8 logic board has died. I am unable to find another logic board for sale of the exact same model. Is it possible to use one of the other variants?
Thanks

i'm pretty sure you can. the only variation in them were with the components and not their placement. I do believe the cheap china housings also fit all note 3's

Note 3 LCD replacement question

Does a Sprint Note 3 screen work on an AT&T/T-Mobile Note 3 ? I have a friend that can replace Sprint Note 3 LCD/Digitizers on broken Sprint Note 3's and was wondering if I could replace a broken/damaged LCD from an AT&T or T-Mobile Note 3 too? TIA
I got my answer via Samsung chat:
info: Please wait for a Samsung Agent to respond.
info: You are now chatting with 'Daisy'. There will be a brief survey at the end of our chat to share feedback on my performance today.
info: Your Issue ID for this chat is LTK1125601008151X
Daisy: Hi, thank you for contacting Samsung Technical Support. How may I help you today?
david: i have a galaxy note 3 with a broken glass.
david: can you tell me if the replacement LCD for a Sprint Note 3 and a T-Mobile Note 3 are the same?
david: or are they different part numbers?
Daisy: I am sorry to know that the device glass is broken.
Daisy: I would like to inform that the LCD for the Sprint Note 3 and a T-Mobile Note 3 are the same.
Daisy: Samsung do repair the device screen and fix it.
Daisy: Samsung provides one year standard warranty for the device from the date of purchase. Unfortunately, physical or liquid damage are not covered under warranty service cost includes accordingly.
david: so then the screens for a CDMA Note 3 and a GSM Note 3 are the same?
david: if so, can you provide me with the part #?
Daisy: I will explain you David.
Daisy: Samsung does not sell any spare part and we do not recommend to replace or repair the device LCD screen.
Daisy: It may void the device functionality.
david: yes
david: i understand.
david: the work would be performed at a local repair facility
david: however I was told that the LCD for a Sprint Note 3 was different than a T-Mobile Note 3 and was provided different repair costs.
david: this is why I'm trying to see if it's in fact the same part for every different carrier variant of the Note 3.
Daisy: I would like to inform that the Note 3 model is same for all Carrier.

This helped me a lot i was looking for a replacement for my N900W8 and was confused as what to buy, now i understand if you order the LCD only it can be istalled to any note 3, however if you happen to buy it with the frame then im afraid you'll only be able to install it to that specific carrier/model you bought it for unless you also buy the usb flex AND the corresponding back cover for that frame. Thank you for this post OP

This makes alot of sense. I was wondering why there were n900A and n900T assemblies on ebay that said they weren't compatible with each other. So I guess to get the best price, it's wise to buy the frame and the lcd/digitizer seperately and just use the self adhesive on it for a quick install. I'm glad to hear the connections for the lcd will work perfectly with the main board.

Sorry if this bumps this but I found this tread via a google search so I want to set the record straight that if it part includes the frame around the glass and LCD the parts are not compatible and could have a price difference.

[Q] N9005 LCD Replacement

Hi guys,
What i wanna ask you is a bit technical.
I got a screen burn-in on my N9005.
I am about to replace the LCD, but the problem is to find the LCD replacement in my country. Samsung only sells N900 here. And they couldn't help me to replace my screen. I found that N900's LCD are available here. Can I use the N900 LCD to replace mine?
Yes I know that I could order the N9005 LCD from ebay or alibaba. But it will take a time.
Please help. Thank you.
Hi, so did you fixed yours ? I am wondering the same thing.
Can I use lcd from the n9000 model for my n9005 version ??
I can't be fully sure, but I see no reason why the LCDs should be different. Ask the Samsung guys, how it is different from Exynos to Snapdragon.

Reliable eBay seller?

I can't seem to find the thread about international unlocked S7E's. Who do you recommend as a trusted seller on ebay?
Thanks in advance
Bought mine from this seller, would recommend since my phone came in perfect.

Also bought mine from Techno Trading House when they had them on discount. Quick delivery and retail packaging.

Uhm.. which country are you at?
I bought mine from this seller:
http://www.ebay.de/usr/dwi-international-3?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
They're importing from Hong Kong to warehouses in the UK and Netherlands and sending from these countries to the EU so there are no further fees.
I was very very skeptical about buying from them but after all I can recommend this store. Sometimes it takes a bit to get answers but they even send me another color and model short term.
But if you're from the US this isn't working for you.

Mine is a DUOS version made from vietnam and it comes with Exynos and Samsung own camera sensor which seemed to had slightly better praise and performance than the Sony sensor.

nope seller said the non dual version they have is also vietnam.
Are you guys experiencing the dreadful screen over- senstivity???
Ah, makes sense. I am thinking this is the way I will go, but I just need to be sure. Too bad there is no warranty to speak of. Phone insurance it is I guess.
I just ended up ordering the exynos on b&h I figure pay a little more to atleast have 1yr warranty through b&h instead of no warranty through eBay

I believe that, only, the following Motherboard/Main Board/Logic Board/etc... Are interchangeable.
SM-G900T, SM-G900A, SM-G900F, SM-G900H & SM-G900P.
I've, personally, never needed to interchange one on my GS5 but, from what I've previously seen stated, this should work.
Maybe another member can state whether I'm right or wrong as a fact...
Good Luck!

Thankyou for the response. but I am still waiting for confirm response as i am going to buy a motherboard which will cost me and i want to wast money if it incompatible.
It should work but, maybe, not completely as you expect.
SM-G900H sub-PCB (USB/charging port PCB) has only one antenna circuit and SM-G900H middle frame may have only one main antenna inside.
So you may be disappointed if you're expecting LTE.
The LCD should match.
On the other hand, if you're just looking for a more cost-efficient solution of the problem and don't need LTE, I'd look for a broken SM-G900V.
thankyou for the response i will keep it in mind.

New motherboard

Hello, I have an s8 sm-g950u that has a problem reading SIM and sd card. I have been researching for a fix but have about come to the conclusion I will need a new mother board. My main question is.. about which to choose. I am in the US and know the nootloader of this phone can't be unlocked. If I were to purchase a motherboard of an unlockable model would it work in this phone? What things would I have to be concerned With? Would it change.my imei and other identification numbers... would there be any other things needed to be done to make it work in my she'll? Would I have to replace any other parts? Knowing the motherboard would be shipped from Ali express, for around 100 bux, it would be used. Should I be concerned with That? Which would be the best motherboard to choose? The g950f I presume? Any and all advise would be excellent. Thank you xda
If it's like the Galaxy S7, you'll also need the G950F daughterboard that has the USB port on it. Also, I've read that the G950F uses Samsung camera modules and the G950U uses Sony camera modules, so your cameras may not work after the swap.
It might be easier just to find a G950F with a broken screen to buy.
Thank you for that info. I was not aware of either of those tips. I am hoping this thread gets bumped a bit with this reply. I am hoping for just a bit more info if possible.. Or even opinions on a new model that would be comparable to the s8.. maybe wider.. I have been reading on phones for days.. I had no idea there were so many to choose. Perhaps a Chinese variant with equal to better specs
