Hard Reset : Google Play services which some of your applications rely on not support - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Since the last hard reset I did, I bought a song on Google Play Music for the first time. So this morning I do a hard reset on my Samsung Galaxy S4 (updated to 5.0.1) and go through the install steps, add my Google account and everything goes fine. Then the phone checks for updates, tells me I have several (which is normal). Then it shows a notification ""Google Play services which some of your applications rely on is not supported by your device Requested by Google Play Music" and I can't access the store anymore. Instead, I'm asked to add my Google account again the same way I would have to if I didn't add it during initial set up.
Thinking this was odd, I tried hard resetting it again to see what it would do and I get the same problem.
What happened? How can I stop this from happening?

OK seems like it's just a question of updating Google Service. The fact that it's not up to date make my phone remove my account it seems.

[Q] Galaxy Note 4 will only update with some account.

Hello
I have just purchased two new galaxy note 4 phones.
I logged in with two different accounts that never had a android phone associated with them before on each phone.
On one phone, after going through initial setup of the phone and entering Google account information it started downloading updates for various software from Google play strait away.
On the the second phone after initial phone setup and logging into Google account, Google play did not update any thing, and when going into "My Apps" in Google play, instead of giving a list of apps that need to be updated, all it showed was "get apps" and "get games".
So, I reset the phone and logged into Google account using the account from the first phone and it started downloading updates strait away.
Further investigation....
I reset the phone many times and every time at initial setup I logged in using different account (some brand new I just created) and found that some accounts stated updating various apps on the phone and some didn't.
This has brought me to the assumption that this is an account problem.
The accounts that would not update the phone all had the same issue, in Google play > My apps it just shows "get apps" and get games".
I went on to removing the bad accounts from "accounts" without a reset of the phone and logged it with a good account (that previously downloaded the updates) and download of updates started automatically.
My question is how do I get those accounts that will not update the phone to update the phone correctly?
I have tested this on both phones with the same results.
I hope I explained the problem properly.
Please advise.
Best regards
Yishai

[Q] Google account syncing problem on Galaxy S5

Hello, I'm new here.
I have a brand new galaxy s5. Running stock everything. I set up my Google account and was able to access some features, such as logging into the play store and downloading apps. However I am unable to access the Google play games feature, I also cannot sign into certain apps requiring google+. I have deleted the account and re entered my details. I have even performed a factory reset and still have no luck. I have tried putting my phone in flight mode and then back to normal and even disabling master sync and re-enabling it. How do I fix this problem. The account seems to say syncing for a very long time, everything else seems to work fine. Is this a network problem?
Problem solved
So I figured I wasn't going to receive any advice any time soon, probably because my explanation wasn't too clear but I fixed the issue. As mentioned I tried everything and factory reset and that did not work. The main issue was when I logged into some apps requiring Google+ link such as Clash of Clans, I was unable to sign into link my account. I also realised the Google Play Games app did into work, it just showed blank loading pages for tab.
So here's what I did (Android 5.0 - Galaxy S5 stock):
Go to Settings>Applications>Application Manager>All
Now go to the Google Play Games App then disable the app. This uninstalls the new version of the app that was updated 15th May 2015. Instead you are reverted back to a older version of the app, which works perfectly. Now you will be able to link your accounts requiring Google+/Google Play.
Since Google released the update quite recently, people have experienced the same issue. I am hoping a new update will be available soon so you can update to that and skip this current update and never have to worry about the bug again.
But at least with this fix you can enjoy your Google Play Games.
Which one version of Google Play Games do I have to install?

Unable to connect to Google

I'm using official ROM Lollipop from Malaysia. Since yesterday I notice that my phone unable to connect to Google account and apps. I suspect because of few services that I freeze. After I defrost the apps, I still unable to connect. So, half an hour ago I reset to factory setting. But it seems like I still unable to connect to Google. My contacts all save in Google. I have no problem to open Google Plus, login into Google account, open Google Play Store and etc. using laptop. Every time I opened any Google application to login, it will show you this image:
Please assists. Thank you.

Google Apps not working properly after Android update

Hi,
I own a LG G2, non rooted, updated my phone through LG PC Suite, from Android 4.4 to 5.02.
The new version, 5.02, has been causing a lot of problems with the google apps.
1) Got message about updating google services when I already had the latest version
FIX: Uninstalled all updates on Play, G+, Gmail and Services, cleared cache and installed them again, stopped receiving the message about update.
2) G+ freezes after some clicking around , loads forever and android system ask if I want to wait or close the app.
3) In-game purchases along with the settings for payment method in Google Play does not work anymore. I tried to remove the payment methods and add them again. When I want to press "OK" button to accept the credit card number or PayPal account the screen just loads and nothing happens, even after several hours.
The new update for my phone seems to have some serious problem with the Google Apps.
Can anyone help me?
Kind regards
Abotiz

Fire HD 10 [7th Gen] 5.3.7.0 GPlay inst. | Google Login Problems

Yesterday i noticed that for some reason my Google account got unlinked from my Google Play Apps, so i couldn't use any of the Google related stuff. When i tried to re-link/login i got the message "There was a Problem communicating with the Google Servers - Try again later"
So i started scouring the Internet for fixes, of which there are a few but rarely are they applicable to FireOS and they basicly all boil down to "reboot, wipe cache, delete data, reinstall" and so on. Evantually i ended up doing a Factory reset but that made it only worse since now all my Apps are gone except for the ones from the Amazon Store which got saved in the recovery. I reinstalled the Google Play APKs and got again that same error message so i tried creating a new account which went kinda okay until it came to the final login, again that error, however once i closed the Google settings a pop-up offered me to login via Browser and that worked for whatever reason, so at least i got access to the Google Play Store again, but with no access to my App Library. Even more curious, occasionally Google picks up on my Login attempts and i get e-mails with "security warnings" about a new device. Using other devices i can login to Google just fine btw.
Currently i have 3 Theories as to what happened:
1. It just happened randomly, as it appearantly sometimes happens with Android if the Internet is to be believed.
2. A sneaky Update changed something and now the Google Login Auth on my Fire clashes with whatever updated, i assume that based on what is currently happening with the Amazon Netflix App and Google Play.
3. A few days ago i installed WhatsApp (sadly a necessity since it stopped supporting Windows Phone and there are People i need to communicate with via WA) and since Google Play stopped working "shortly" after i'm inclined to assume a correlation. Ironically WhatsApp doesn't work anymore after the reset, it now got connection problems too.
At this point i've pretty much tried all fixes, applicable to FireOS, i could find short of rooting the Fire and modifying the "hosts" file, though i looked at the File, using a root explorer, and it already contains what the Fix said it should contain, so i'm not sure if that would actually help.
I hope someone here has some more ideas on what i could try to get it working again, though i'm already getting used to the idea of having to Flash it in order to get Google Play working again. (kinda a feeling of excited dread and second-guessing the idea, so i'd prefer methods that aren't quite as invasive right now.)

Can you protect your Google account by adding phone number in Google account settings.
So i did another Factory Reset, i couldn't get around not login into my Amazon account but this time i skipped restoring the Back-up and it worked, I was able to login into my google account, though that might be because i did it via the GPlay Store which kinda looked like a Browser login, rather than via GPlay Services but it is solved regardless, at least for now. I'm going to keep an eye on it for a few days, but i hope the Problem is solved for good.
