how did u get to view you tube on your 8125? i have orb 2.0 and it keeps asking me for some codecs.
You have to download certain codecs and install them from there website. The codec that i installed to get the youtube videos to play was the ffdshow codec.
what do you guys mean? go to tinytube.net on your phone and you can download any video from 6 different sources, including, google, myspace, and break just to name a few.
its awesome

I second that. Nothing to install, just download away.

You CANNOT view youtube videos with tinytube.net. Plus it seems im always being queued to view a damn video. Orb is faster compared to the quality...only downside is you have to have your computer running. Which I dont find to be a problem personally
but most youtube videos are on google and myspace anyway
It seems that none of the offered solutions properly play streaming video. Anyone found any other way to do so?

I followed these instructions and the work very very well on my WM6 Kaiser.
http://www.allshadow.com/2007/11/28/how-to-watch-online-video/
Kind of off topic, but a little similar... Is anyone having problems downloading streaming media from these sites? I have an AT&T Tilt and whenever I click on a streaming link that is flashed based, Realplayer will come up and tell me this file format is not supported. But, there is no option anywhere to uninstall this thing! I also tried adding all associations /w TCPMP but still no luck. Anyone else running into this?

watch youtube and multitask?

I cant seem to find a way to watch a youtube video and do other things on my tablet such as browse the web or open up another app. Ive tried the youtube app and the website but neither let me multitask and still play a video.
Is it possible to do so?

i don't believe so
while multi tasking on android; android freezes the app in RAM till you return to it
i believe the only android device that can truly multi task ie watching youtube and emails etc is the Sprint Kyocera but thats a phone
http://software2tech.com/tag/android-dualweb-browser/
That's the closest thing you are going to get.
Dolphin browser mini lets you have a flash app play in a background tab. Not when you switch apps though.
Maybe this app will help?

Thanks for the link to Ghosttown..that's a great app. Only one little niggle with it though....
because it takes the video from youtube, it doesn't distinguish between the album versions and the live versions....it won't filter...so when you choose an album...you could get all kinds of versions of a tune, not necessarily the proper one from the album chosen.

Checking now.
No you can not.
Netgar:
It is possible, but I don't yet know if it's really a viable option. In Developer Options, there is a toggle near the bottom that will let you force apps to resize.
After this, I was able to have a video playing on kodi (portrait mode) on top with chrome on the bottom, but I haven't messed around with it much. For starters, it seems very difficult to navigate kodi in split screen, and I'm not sure the video aspect ratio is correct. Anyhow...
Thx guys.
Using my n4 I can have both spmc and kodi running in portrait mode and watching soccer.
I wish we have a root.
Thx again

Were you able to navigate in kodi? Pause, play, stop movie?
I'm sorry that I am coming back to the same question.
Is anyone could test it please
Anyone?
I took another look and I don't really think forcing kodi to run in split screen is worth the hassle.
Alternatively, using a sportsmania account with the matrix TV browser (which plays the streams on app of your choosing such a MX, VLC, etc.) works great in split screen. Also could use sportsaccess account, load the stream in the browser and then split chrome tabs.

I love kodi. Isnt it possible to use an external video player that will do allow split view. I feel like ive seen that in the settings.
Bubba: good point. I had not thought of using an external player as I don't use kodi on my phone that often. I got it to work using MX free player, but am not aware of any settings within kodi... you can find instructions for adding an xml file which then lets you choose an external player by googling...

Thank you pachanga74
Unfortunately the streaming I use run only in kodi.
I just wonder if you could just navigate it. I can use kodi in multi window view all the time and use spmc full screen.
Deleted. Going to look for a more appropriate topic....

Stretch to Screen

Hi
We all know that Samsung has implemented a way for youtube videos to 'crop to fit' to screen, which cuts off some part to hide the black bars but in the built in video player samsung also has stretch, which I prefer, anyone figured out to do it without root atm?
Also any ways to do it for Twitch as well? Since Twitch the button doesn't pop up?

I mean for videos, they still show up with black bars, sorry for confusion, Twitch for example and chrome when playing videos
Besides videos, do you lose content on the side when apps are in full screen or do they resize properly?

So you want it stretched out so everything is fat? Our aspect ratio is non-standard.

Yeah on that little circle, no on Samsung own video player, it has 3.

where is picture in picture mode?

So the device has oreo 8.1 which means it should have pip mode but I can't find it anywhere, is it there or not?
Well currently pip mode only works with netflix as I use it constantly so it does work but can't say about any other apps like chrome or youtube as they don't work ......
For youtube, you need YouTube Red.
If you are from India then you can check it on Swiggy.. for live order tracking you have PIP which is pretty neat

YouTube RED is also known as YouTube Premium subscription.
YouTube PiP is also possible with YouTube Vanced Edition
PiP works on chrome, have used it.

Play the video, put it in fullscreens mode on the webplayer, then click on the home button, and you get PiP. So note though, not all websites support PiP, YouTube on chrome doesn't , so if that's what you néd, it might not help.
Also, enable it in app info.
Yes it is there. First of all, it is specific to applications. If you want to add this feature to your Android application, you have to add the codes that enables PIP in that application. And and and.. you can enable it for all the applications but that has some bugs.
PIP works in maps when you are navigating
