Stock Images? - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can we get a list going of stock boot and recovery, for those who need to undo changes, reset the system, or undo root? I, for one, could really use a stock GM-530AZ image, and I'm sure I won't be the only one who could use one at some point. Sammobile doesn't have it.

[Q] Restore Stock Recovery

I'm having trouble finding an answer to this. I have TWRP recovery installed and want to revert to Stock. According to the TWRP website, all I have to do is install the stock recovery over TWRP.
However, the problem I'm having is finding a way to do this with out doing a complete factory reset and/or firmware flash. Is there somewhere I can find just the stock recovery. I've been googling and looking through the forums for the past 45 minutes and can't seem to find anything.
Thanks!
The only way I know how to do it is Odin the stock firmware. But if you can do that or not will depend what phone you have and what firmware you're on. You'll have to do a factory reset and will lose data do you'll need to backup first.
I didn't want to Odin back to stock as that wipes data. I ended up downloading the stock TAR firmware, extracting the recovery.img and running this command via Heimdall:
Code:
heimdall flash --RECOVERY "C:\path\to\recovery.img" --no-reboot
Hope this helps.

Once you installed TWRP, did you use it? Did you make a backup of your stock handset? Well good for you! Now before you go and follow directions and flash your recovery, I always use MyBackup Pro, which requires root to work. It allows you to restore your call log and all your text and picture messages if you ever should like them back. Once you go back to stock, you'll have to root again and go get the MyBackup Pro again from the Play store, but at least you can retrieve everything. Do the flash like the directions says in TWRP, but plan ahead.
You gotta flash dude. It's the only way.
Just make sure everything is in order before you swipe that little slider bar. After you swipe the slider bar to flash your backup that you made of your stock setup, that's exactly what will happen. Like brand new right out of the box. You won't show any sign of TWRP and your "stock recovery" will return.
You did make a backup first thing after installing TWRP right? It was 3.56 GB and it wouldn't fit on phone storage so I had to save mine to the external SD card.
If you're on stock (not a custom ROM) with only a custom recovery, ODIN to stock should not wipe your phone. If you're on a custom ROM and you ODIN to stock, it will wipe.
Either way, you should do a Nandroid backup first...then if you aren't happy with the results, you can install a custom recovery again and Nandroid back to where you were to start. Just make sure when you go back to stock you don't end up getting the MF3 update!

[Q] Return to stock recovery so I can install OTA? Help Please

I've searched the forums everywhere. All I want to do is return to stock recovery, install the OTA, then I will reinstall TWRP. How do I get back to stock recovery?
I've seen plenty of posts about factory resetting the phone...I don't want to wipe and lose all my data. Same with an OTA rom...I prefer not to install one and then have to re-do all my crap on my phone LOL!
Can anyone help on the best way to return to stock recovery (only the recovery) so I can take the OTA?

I think the easiest way would be to factory reset completely, but before doing that, back up your data with TitaniumBackup. I have heard alot of good things about that. I dont personally have any experiance with TitaniumBackup, but that is what i would go for if i was in the same boat.

Removing a system update?

Edit: Never mind, the firmware was added online https://github.com/motoxplay/stock
Monday's update somehow modified something in my phone making it impossible to flash the stock ROM I have and lock the device. It's acting now like the stock ROM is a downgrade.
I've tried using TWRP to go in Advaced Wipe and formated everything on the phone but that didn't cut it. I've also tried flashing the bootloader from my ROM with no success.
So that would mean there's something somewhere in the phone that was updated that even TWRP doesn't wipe. Where is it? Can I remove it?

Moto x pure XT1575 What am i doing wrong?!

I bought this phone used and the person who had it before me it rooted and installed some of different ROMs on it. After getting my used moto x pure 2015 running android 6.0. I booted it up and tested all the functions (including downloading a few apps) Wi-Fi, camera, audio/charging jacks ext. Everything worked fine. So did normal factory reset (not using TWRP) just to make sure everything was clean before using it as my daily. Then, (BUM BUM BUM!) when I tried to start downloading all my apps. None of them would download even though the Wi-Fi was working. Error 492 I think.
I started trying custom ROMs because I was having two big issues (apps not downloading and incoming call not bringing up accept/decline screen) with my stock rom. and wanted to fix those issues with a fresh stock image.
This is all new to me and has not been as easy as anticipated. If anyone knows a clean factory image I could flash or a fail proof fix to error 492 that would be helpful. I really just want to return to fully working Motorola stock android, but the files I have used haven’t fixed the issue. I have searched for a factory image without finding one…
Is there a way to flash the Motorola image through TRWP?
Otherwise, maybe you can help me with my flashing method, and maybe tell me what I am doing wrong. I tried to flash multiple stock images all with the same issue. I have also tried to flash Resurrection Remix, and Brocken OS, both having resulted in a bootloop. I am starting to think I have done something wrong. The steps I have taken so far have been these:
My bootloader is unlocked status code 3.
My phone is not rooted. Do I need root?
First I downloaded adb and fastboot.
Then I flashed TWRP (3.0.2).
I never installed the official Motorola stock image because flashing it from fast boot wouldn’t work and it couldn’t be flashed with TWRP because it is a .gz not a .zip. (I knew a .gz needs to be flashed with fastboot but I knew TWRP was easer so I didn’t fuss with it)
After flashing TWRP to my phone, I downloaded (yes, I checked the md5) the various ROMs to my computer then transfered them to my phone via micro SD card.
Here are the file’s names if that matters:
moto_x_pure_edition_stock_x1575_mphs24.49-18-3_v1-odexed
(booted and Wi-Fi but play store won’t download apps)
moto_x_pure_edition_stock_x1575_mph24.49-18_v1-odexed
(booted but no Wi-Fi)
Broken-v4.9.1-clark-6.0.1-OFFICIAL-20160824 (with Broken_gapps_lp5.1.x_09172015)
(Brocken was the only non-stock that got past boot, but I still couldn’t get past set up without an error and never made it to the system.)
ResurrectionRemix-N-v5.8.0-20161220-clark (7.1 gapps failed to flash but I booted it anyway.)
(boot loop after both of my tries)
I got Wi-Fi working on one of the above stock ROMs (so I KNOW it works) but couldn’t even turn Wi-Fi on in all the others.
The method I used to flash all of the above files in TWRP was:
Wipe
Full wipe (davlik cache, data, system, cache)
(used for RR and Brocken)
Factory reset (using TWRP) (davlik cache, data , cache)
Used for the stock ROMs or even after flashing .zip file I got the error: no OS installed.
Install
Select file of ROM flash (gapps if needed) and flash
I can’t remember which ones but on some of them after flashing I again did a factory reset.
Then I rebooted
Thanks for reading. Sorry it was so long. I tried to add as much useful information as possible. Hopefully someone smarter than me will see my error(s) and help me get my phone into fully working order.

I'm having a similar issue. Tried the TruPure rom but I want to switch back to stock. If I do a full wipe, would I be able to use the files that Motorola provides on their website and flash those throught fastboot? Or through TWRP? Any chance you have a link to a guide on how to do the latter option (installing through TWRP)? I'm just trying to get my device back to 100% stock so that I can receive OTA.

Thank you for sharing that link. I think I get it but it seems too easy considering what I've tried so far. Just to make sure I get it:
I should download the odexed rom, go to twrp and wipe data, cache and dalvik then flash the odexed rom through the install function? And thats it? I've literally tried a ton of stuff so if this takes care of it, this is great!

This got me back to stock! You are the real MVP.
So I remember seeing a recovery.img file in the factory image that motorola posted on its site. Does it have to be a specific stock recovery or do I need a specific one to match with the file I just installed?
thanks again

So I'm on stock build 49-18-8 and flashed the recovery from 49-18-3. I went into fastboot and selected recovery. I got the android character with an !
I then did the power button and volume up and got into stock android recovery. Am I supposed to see the android character with ! each time I try to reach the recovery menu? Just wondering if I did this correctly.
Thanks again for pointing me to these resources!

Downgrade from Nougat impossible?

Greetings,
I tried to downgrade from Nougat to Marshmallow. If I install stock Nougat ROM via Odin it works. As soon as I install TWRP Recovery and lets say "KryxxOS" it just dont boot. No animated samsung logo just the first static logo and no progress.
If I flash a Nougat based ROM it boots perfectly again.
Anyone might help me there? Am I missing something that I cant downgrade ?
Thanks!
Robin
you can downgrade to Marshmellow.
First back uip your phone as you will lose everything on your phone to downgrade.
using TWRP, go into wipe - advanced and select all the partitions except microsd card.swipe to wipe.
It will delete all the operating system including bootloader and mode. Your phone will have no operating system and will just bootloop if you try to use it.
Then boot into download mode and flash your desired marshmellow rom.
Let odin reboot the phone and you should have a working marshmellow rom on your phone.
You will then need reload all your programs including TWRP.
Make sure that this what you want to do as this advise only and i take no responsibility if you decide to do it.

what custom rtom are you trying to install and did you follow the rom maker instructions exactly.
All you may need to do after flash is do a simple data wipe or cache cleaning to allow the custom rom to work.
