Greetings,
My Puerto Rico (Claro) D801 (which is actually a D803) is softbricked after successful rooting but failed KitKat firmware update. I'm used to rooting phones, but the G2 seems to have a few particularly broken elements. I essentially bricked my G2 because it identifies as D801 in software/hardware, but isn't actually compatible with D801 firmware. Major issue, which apparently loads of other people on XDA are having.
Summary:
Can't restore firmware from the phone (stuck in fastboot)
Can't restore from LGMobile Update application (Windows sees the phone on USB but application doesn't)
Can't flash either D801 or D803 TOT using LGFlashTool because of the identification issue.
I can get into Download mode.
I'm desperately looking for help in fixing this. Can supply more info on what I've already tried.

I enabled show touch options in usb debugging and took this video. Every touch on the screen is registering atleast two and mostly three touches as you can see in the vid. Any way to resolve it? I have tried to downgrade OS to 4.2 using LG Flash tool, and that doesn't work.
How do I fix this? Is it a hardware issue?
Baseband problem:
When I downgrade the phone to a D802 v10B or 10A, I lose baseband. Currently has India KitKat D802T20A_00.KDZ installed and baseband is present. Even downgrading to D802T10A_00.kdz loses baseband. Any thoughts why this is happening?
Try to go to hiddenmenu by dialing the number and then find update touch or something like that and or check your screen for dirt and clean it

I ran an update on my g2 from lg, and ended up with the same issue. Have you found a fix?
Same issue on my G2 (see my thread) but yesterday I gave up and send it to LG to fix it.
I tried nearly everyting I guess but nothing did help. Also the way into the hidden menu was without any result.

I have the same issue. (VS980) It's impossible to use the phone while this is happening.
Now that I think about it, I didn't have any issues with this until after I installed the latest OTA
Anyone have any ideas to fix this??
Update
Finding out stock firmware and calling lg tech in the morning. Will update if I make any progress.
Reinstalled "out of the box" original rom ver. VS980-24A (.kdz) using LG Flash Tool. Problem gone - worked fine for several hours. Phone asked to install Verizon update VS980-26A, problem has returned. Called tech support, they couldn't understand the issue and decided my device was broken. They are sending me a replacement under LG warranty.

Hi,
Flashtools seems to not have aany effects on my G2. I'm facing bootloops and I need to go back to stock, but actually whenever I flash my g2 with any versions, I keep getting the bootloops and LG Mobile Support and Download Mode keeps on showing that the g2 is still V20B rather than the differents version I flash it with.
Can anyone please help?

today I went to downgrade my L7 from Carbon ROM to V20A with CWM/ROOT by Homero using KDZ and when phone restarted after upgrade it got stuck at LG logo, so I tried flashing multiple times but it didn't succeed.
I couldn't even access the CWM, I tried almost all unbricking solutions.
Now I tried even with official LG Mobile Support Tool which updated firmware to V20D and it won't boot up.
a) Is there a way I can back my phone to get it working myself?
b) How much will the service cost as my warranty expired?

I tear off my set & found several things
1. My back cover, settings > Software info & booklets shows it D802, while internal plastic is labeled as D800 & Motherboard is D801 T-Mobile. Look like some company is selling T-Mobile as D802.
I read it on this forum that if flash D802 rom on T-Mobile D801, then need to reload Kernels of D801 too after flashing D802 rom. I tried flashing D801 kernel in recovery mod but it gives error "E invalid certificates" or something like this, I also tried flashing D801 stock rom, but LG Flash Tools 2014 gives error at 2% (Phone disconnection & sometime "Connection to server failed"), however, LG Flash Tools flash D802 without any issue.
Now, can someone tell me how to flash D801 kernels after flashing D802 rom? Or how can I flash stock D801 rom?

I am facing quite odd problems. please help me.
I have LG G2 D802. My software version was d80220b while when I attached my mobile with pc, pc suite notify me that d80220c is available. I upgraded. But after upgrading, touch is totally out of work. Say like below, I tap "7" & it goes to 2, 3 etc. I select say first option, it selects 4th option.
Also, one more thing, my mobile is 32gb variant, while now it's showing only 10.7gb.
Three Problems total
1. Touch totally disturbed
2. Storage reduced from 32gb to 10.75gb
3. Service Disabled (No sim is working :'(
I think it's due to some rom issue, can you please guide me or send me link for the correct ROM for my mobile?

HI Kernol,
I have done it like 5 times, I flash stock rom & hard factory reset but still same.
There was not a single touch issue in the last 2-3 weeks, but it immediately happened on OTA upgrade & on start/configuration screen

try install a custom rom
may problem ur stock g2 version or something in kernel or baseband or touch drivers

Can you please let me know how can I reload them? I am using LG Flash Tool 2014 which supports kdz only. I can stuck at configuration windows just after LG Logo. So, cannot access anything in mobile like Developer tools etc

u can't reload this at this moment
only way to fix this its only by kdz
but whats rom version u have before installing update
& u tried to flash kdz version u have in ur phone before ?

Try to update the touch drivers, just dial 3845#*802# go to settings and then update touch firmware

Trying to dial it but touch is not working properly
Do you have a Bluetooth mouse? Or do you have a chance to connect via lg on screen phone?
