[Q] Download directory empty - Omni Q&A

Hi,
I am trying to download omnirom for my device from dl (dot) omnirom (dot) org/hammerhead however it lists no builds. All the other directories are empty for me as well. Is anyone experiencing this issue?
I have attached a screenshot.

Here is the same issue, too.
I'm waiting for the nexxt OmniKk nightly, last one was 04.17.

Same here
Neither changelog and download link

Same here...???
I need lastest omnirom 4.4.4 zip for s3...any link?

What's wrong with Omnirom, no one knows for something?

3 Days later: Same problem here.

I was away for most of last week (weather too nice), and also don't handle the downloads directory (other people do that).
I have no idea what's going on... We've had issues in the past with running out of space causing bogus builds, but this... It's new.
Perhaps the cleanup bot responsible for trying to avoid running out of space had a bug and got overzealous...

Since yesterday the weather is also fine here, but tomorrow it will rain again.
Could you please tell the right people notice to fix the error, Entropy512.
We want to download and / or update the nice system and there is no way since 2015.04.17.. :fingers-crossed:

Seems like the cleanup bot was overzealous, it deleted everything older than X weeks old... Plodey was planning on having 5.1 nightlies started by now but the CAF ifdefing nightmare is taking far longer to finish than anticipated.
I've asked plodey to kick off another build cycle for 4.4, although I just realized there's a wpa_supplicant security patch we should stick in there first.

Thank you and Plodey in advance, remain (for now) with delicious Kitkat and hoping for tasty updates. :good:

Unfortunately nothing new..
The Changelog apk shows just the dates of last updates -13.05.2015 & so on- Changelog (0)
and the folders on dl.omnirom.org -05.05.2015 17:01- are still all empty.
I feel so cropped! :crying:

If you take a look at their issue tracker you can see that there are patches being merged almost every day. That hardly looks like a dead project to me.

No news from Feb 09 on their page, no downloads from their download page, looks like a dead rom to me (like a final user that I be).
Do not be angry, it's what I think.

A new version of 4.4 would be fine for me. I started this week with omni and had only an old nightly from last year and would be happy to have an update trough the integrated updater.

Almost surely this would break the OpenDelta chain (I really at some point need to make it have a fallback where it'll detect a broken chain and download a full update), you'd have to download and manually flash a full build.
I was away nearly all weekend, I'll pester plodey about making the server do a build and try to make the script preserve at least ONE build for each device.

Likelyhood of seeing a 4.2 ROM for the Tab?

Does anybody know if 4.2 roms will be worked on for this or is pretty much dead with development for this device?

Are you asking if from Samsung or XDA? As far as on XDA; 4.2 has barely finish merging for CM in the last few days. I am sure we'll see it when it starts coming out for other devices. We'll definitely not see it from Samsung.
We have great developers who will work on this.

No no I didn't mean from Samsung. Lol I wouldnt expect much from Samsung any more. Upgrading to 4.2 would be too generous on their part to do for us. I did mean from xda developers. I guess I am just impatient because I thought something would have popped up now from someone even if it was just an aosp based rom.
I guess I will just wait a bit longer and hope something pops up sooner rather than later.

Samsung has already said that they would not be releasing Jelly Bean at all for the 1st generation Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7xxx. There are already couple of Jelly Bean 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 unofficial builds out. For example, Pershoot has a CM10 and Triptosyll has published an AOKP build.
4.2 AOSP has a bunch of quirks and bugs that are just now getting ironed out, I also have a Galaxy Nexus and 4.2 has been a bit of a rough road. Triptosyll mentioned in his thread that he wouldn't be working on 4.2 until AOSP has stabilized.
From a user perspective there isn't that much different between 4.1 and 4.2, the biggest changes are framework support for the multiuser feature. Since our Galaxy Tabs have only 1GB RAM, don't expect that feature to work well at all in 4.2 anyway. The other big feature is the 2 finger swipe for quick settings and toggles. However, coming from CM10 or AOKP, you already have better toggles available in the base notification shade. So don't get too impatient for 4.2. 4.1 has most of the goodies already.

I just installed that one, works well, haven't tested the microphone yet. You guys should give it a try
Ok I finally tried a 4.2.1 build, the one form DDyno. This is the best this tab has performed. Its not as smooth yet as my galaxy nexus, I expected something comparable but I still have faith.
Everything works except for the new "voice search" from google. Video playback is awesome, and the stock android browser just flies. This is how this tab should have worked in the first place.

I got it a few days ago.
Although it looks and runs smooth I have an issue where I cannot add any data to the device.
Can't browse the device in windows explorer, download, update, take pictures, receive files through BT, etc.
Very strange, been reading and searching for the last few days but haven't seen anyone else comment the same.
8 more posts and I'll be able to ask for help in the correct thread.
Till then the tab is the most expensive clock I ever bought.

Perhaps you should clarify what you are unable to do on what android version. Are you using a nightly? If yes, then you need to enable USB computer connection using Settings > Storage > USB Computer connection (using icon on upper right corner) > Connect as Media device (MTP).

I already did that.
But since you asked for it:
Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 - GT-P7510 16GB
CWM Recovery v5.8.3.1 (not able to install higher version)
Previos ROM version: "boot-cm_2636.4_ux-oc-xtra-vfpv3-d16_fp-102411.zip"
Installed ROM version: "cm-10.1-20130109-NIGHTLY-p4wifi.zip"
Trough some other website I got some instuctions on installing the latest nightly.
But either the instructions weren't very clear or I skipped a few steps. (probably the later)
I did however take the roms from Cyano website. The wikipage did not have installation instructions yet.
Should have come here in the first place.......
Anyway,
After updating CWM from 4.0.0.4 to 5.8.3.1 installation went smooth. (install file was named "cwm6010touch_INSTALL.zip" but no touch and no 6.0.1.0. Text color changed to babyblue and menu is slightly different from the previous version)
Wiped data/factory reset, wiped cache partition, wiped dalvik cache.
installed from zip file "cm-10.1-20130109-NIGHTLY-p4wifi.zip"
Reboot and everything looks good. WiFi, bluetooth, etc all seem to work.
However....
1-
I can access the tab through my computer. shows up as "Galaxy tab 10.1" somethimes as "gt-p7510"
IIn Windows explorer I see "internal storage" but can not browse this storage.
2-
I can not download anything. It force closes the browser.
3-
Bluetooth:
Pc and tablet pair nicely but sending files to the tab is not possible. "Storage issue"
4- I cannot download new/old nightly files.
5-
At first startup it did not ask for my google account. The one you need to access the market. Did not see/find the option under settings.
Have to log in through browser to download from the market. Which doesn't work because the operating system is convinced that there is no fre space resulting in a force closuse of the browser.
So in short, it seems I cannot add any files to the device. (5.3 Gb free)
Is there a workaround for this?
I do have access to the folder data/media/0/0/0/0/0/0 with my old files including the above mentioned droid installation roms, "cwm6010touch_INSTALL.zip" and "US_LPL_4.0.4_bootloader.zip"
No Logcat sorry.
Any help on how to reverd back to my previous ROM or to get this one working would be highly appreciated.
Old ROM is prefered. Since I got whatsapp working on it.
Did you flash the recommended gapps package (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?o6e8kowyuc59zjc) after installing the ROM? This I would say are at the heart of your issues? However, if you are still having issues it might be worth following the instructions in this thread CyanogenMod 10.1 Nightly Discussions. At worst, you might have to Odin back to stock ICS using this thread. Hope that helps!!

Now could be the problem.
I didn't since I read somewhere that it was optional.......
I am however now running correct CWM version 6.0.2.7 (recovery.tar.md5 file)
Tried reinstalling the rest but no improvement.
Is it possible to get this Gapps package on the tab via Odin?
Odin seems the only way to get anything done at the moment.
Thanx for the help. Feeling I'm getting closer to a solution.

Don't think there is. I think your best option is to flash a stock ICS ROM and start over. On the plus side, it should already have the ICS bootloader and recovery that you flashed. Follow the steps in nightly threads once you are back to stock.

Thanxs for the tip regarding flashing back to stock ROM!
I was so busy reading/searsching several threads about the problem that I never thought about starting from scratch.
But....
After having gone to stock ROM I tried again a few times.
Followed the instructions from the nightly thread.
Same issue,
Since I have to work again next week and don't have time to struggle with it I've decided to go back to Task650's V14 for now.
I'll wait a bit more for the "official" release and give it a try again.
Thanks again for the help!

[DISCONTINUED][ROM] [CM10/10.1] [OaTLnT] [Mar. 17/June 08, 2013]

First, Happy and Safe Holidays to all.
Next, find below the links to my most recent kang'd, lightened, and tweaked JB ROM with working sound, mic, video, and camera; albeit with the camera images rotated 90 degrees per usual (at least in the camera app I use). Please note that this ROM does not require the expanded system partition achievable with ACMEInstaller3; I still have ~60MB left after flashing this and the accompanying lightened GApps. I flash these with the latest TWRP and have the latest moboot installed. Hope these work as well for you as they do for me, but it goes without saying YMMV!
Finally, I've been focusing most of my ROM development efforts on the new Nexus 4, so updates to this, if any, may be far and few between, and only triggered by major problems or a major update to JB. Still, at this stage I feel our beloved TP's have aged extremely well thanks to the entire AOSP and CM communities and specifically to the likes of Green, Dalingrin, JC Sullins, Dorregaray, etc. who have and continue to make this all possible. So without further ado...

Happy Holidays OaT, so great to have you back!.....how's the battery life?? Lol...just kidding OaT.....
Haven't flashed anything on HP Touchpad since the first ICS release or so. Seems a lot has changed and I'm finding it hard to find the info needed. With these downloads waht exactly do I need to do? I have CWM recovery, but you mentioned TWRP I believe. Step by step instaling would be appreciated or if someone could point me to them. Haven't used the ACME installer in forever so I'd rather not brick it
Thanks in advance! And Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Sorry I can't help , I was hoping that it had deleted the old ulimage and was trying to boot into that.
You could try sticking it on charge and then booting into recovery to install the backup I hope u made or webos to check what ulimages are in your boot folder in case that is to full.

The futur of the X

As Sony announced few days ago that they'll discontinuing the X and X compact, what does it mean of us loners?
I mean it has been more than a month since the Performance variant got 7.1.1 and we still running the 7.0 and no news about when we'll get that update;
Also does this mean, that we won't be getting android O when it hits market?
From what i understand, they will only stop the production. That means no X2 or X2c.
Current phones will continue receiving updates until the end of its 18-month lifespan. That means 7.1 will come soon. (Actually it's already coming to Concept roms).
Though I hope they will skip 7.1 and go straight to 8.0.
C'mon Sailfish. Daddy needs a better OS.
Trashed it so fast. Sony is making some very odd choices. I hope they get their sh** together

Well, if you guys want some good news, Android 7.1 update for Xperia X/X Compact might start rolling really soon. Yesterday, kernel sources from an unannounced build (34.3.A.0.194) surfaced on Developer World, and given the bump to 34.3.xx.xx.xx from the previous 34.2.xx.xx.xx indicates it's a major update instead of simple bug fixes...

There's new Smart STAMINA mode, revamped quick settings with 6 toggle and Settings button (previously only 5 present and no Settings button when collapsed), round icons for Google apps, aand June security patch.
Someone said there is Xperia Actions, but I have yet to find it. Battery life seems to be slightly better, haven't played much with the update actually

I read the article along with the update, It's not quite fully functional, still quite a ways from being a working rom but he has shown that project treble does work and is somewhat viable. from looking at his screenshots the ril (sim stuff) is not working yet, I made some suggestions to him regarding his build that might fix that but he hasn't gotten back to me. Still not there yet but at least it shows that a generic AOSP Android can be installed and booted (at least the system and data images) by virtue of project treble. There are still a lot of things that are closed source relating to the hardware on our device and the SoC itself.
NFC not working, BT is wonky, FPS is not enabled, Keyboard is crashing when opening numbers/special chars, no HotSpot/Tethering, RIL does somewhat work but requires some more work on the actual device overlay.
But the essential things are working, Video Enc/Dec, Camera (Video, Photo), LEDs, Audio, HWC, vulkan, WiFi, BT (atleast its visible when i scan for it), power hal, maybe i forgot a few things ..
I've tested a self-compiled build on my H8 Pro, and thats the result, so i'd expect some similar situation for the Mate 9.
Regards

Did a build myself for the HiKey 960 reference board that uses the same SoC as the mate 9 and am doing a generic arm64 build right now, I'll be testing the both out when I get a chance. I think that I might have a little more luck with the HiKey build as it is the same SoC. It's a work in progress but project treble is showing some promise. I'm looking at making a flashable (in twrp) that will install the AOSP build (whichever one works)

You are very welcome, this all is a work in progress but from what I see so far project treble is going to make development easier in the future. I might try installing the boot image from my HiKey build to see how that works, it's the same SoC as our devices so it "should" boot, it's kernel version 4.9 which is the latest and supposedly greatest so we will see. If it doesn't boot I can always flash back the stock Oreo boot image.
I got a spare Mate 9 and can install and test stuff, happy to help

I'll keep that in mind, I will be uploading my system.img and custdata.img for both builds when this one gets finished (takes forever on my old PC) they can be flashed via fastboot provided your bootloader is unlocked. I'll post the links after I get them uploaded.

I'm rebuilding, there is a thread on AOSP here https://forum.xda-developers.com/project-treble so I'm following the work there to see what changes to the framework need to be made, my build hung at 99% so I ended up starting it over, I think my build machine is running out of memory and the Java compiler is chocking. his v2 build boots and is mostly functional you can download it on his thread. His build is based on the 8.0.0-vts_r4 testing branch and mine is the 8.0.0_r34 release branch. You can download a build based on his changes and the vts branch here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wMa_dgkWrqbC9i4GxUNOQlH0qIwffPph/view?usp=drivesdk

Yeah, the whole ASOP and treble thing is definitely a work in progress and it's going to take a little time to get that all working with the phone hardware properly but once it gets all figured out it is going to make updates easy and open the door to a lot of possibilities with custom ROMs

Is the kernel compiled too from AOSP, or is that pre-compiled already in a boot.img?

No, in order to use the AOSP build you have to install Oreo beforehand, there are beta builds available for a few of the mate 9 variants right now but the "official" Oreo updates should start rolling out sometime in December. I had downloaded and installed the beta for the US variant.

That guy has been posting Oreo (Lineage 15.x) builds to his Android File Host page since the summer. None of them boot. Their last one was a month ago, here. Spoiler - it doesn't work either.
Good on them for at least trying all the same. What's odd is that they've builds for several different ROMs (Mokee/AOKP/Paranoid Android), so I assume they must own a Mix (or did at one point), but they've never submitted any here to my knowledge. Maybe they're just playing around building ROMs, but then why upload them if they don't work, unless they don't own a Mix and they're just building/uploading for others to try.
What's much more concerning is that ~15 months into the life of this device and we're basically reduced to 2 active non-MIUI ROMs. We'll probably still have Lineage builds for a while yet since it's basically the standard for custom ROMs but how long will AICP live (which I much prefer to Lineage)? Then again, maybe once Lineage 15.1 drops and we start getting Oreo ROMs it might spark some more devs into life.

I'm about to start compiling a build using the latest Lineage 15.1 sources and Mix blobs. If it doesn't work I'll probably give up too. I can't imagine trying 30 builds.
The sheer time involved is enough to put anyone off (1-2 hours to fetch the repo/sync, then much the same to build for the first time). That's not even counting the hours taken to backup the entire data partition (and then copy it back) since this is going to require a wipe of that whole partition, or the fact that it ties up your PC for much of the sync/build period.
EDIT: Finally got it to build. Flashed it with GApps. Expected it to just sit at the MI.COM logo like every other build I'd flashed but it actually got past it after a minute or so. At the bit where the Lineage logo normally kicks in, the screen flashed a few times then went black. After about another minute it booted back into recovery. I actually thought it was going to work once it got past the logo, but no. Looks like it's a bust. I attached the dmesg.log from TWRP if anyone wants to take a peek.
I'd build Oreo myself if the Mix wasn't my main phone right now... I just can't afford having downtimes where I can't be reached by my coworkers or customers.
Maybe if I ever move on to a new phone I'll tackle it.
