[ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the Samsung Captivate :: V7.1.0-RC1 (26 June 2011)

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
This version is a release candidate, but you will find it stable for everyday use.
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
Instructions:
First time flashing CyanogenMod 7 to the Samsung Captivate, or coming from another ROM?
Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
Perform a factory reset.
Flash CyanogenMod.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package
Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 7?
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
Flash CyanogenMod (your Google Apps will be backed up & restored automatically).
Issues?
Experience issues? Please provide the following info:
If the device was hard reboot, please provide the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
If the device was soft reboot or is "bootlooping", please run a logcat and provide the full output.
Please use Pastebin when possible.

the difference between RC and nightlies is RC is considered (mostly) stable and users are allowed to post issues/bugs to the issue tracker. nightlies will never be allowed to post, but even RC1 users can. nightlies will continue to be built between stable releases (there will continue being nightlies after RC1/before RC2... and after RC2/before RC3--if there is an RC3--until the final stable build is released) until there is no longer a use for nightlies.

What about CM7 issues like battery drain?
Nightly #33 was on my captivate yesterday, #40 this morning, RC7.1.0 tonight, and by tomorrow, ... back to the nightlies. Stable for an instant.

OP says to flash from ClockworkMod Recovery: Does it matter what version?
OP does not mention what boot loaders should be used. Are the new AT&T I897 GB loaders okay to use?
Thanks!
I was on the nightlies and was using Froyo Bootloaders. I think you can use One-Click to go back to Elclair and see how it goes.

wiki instructions clearly say to flash from Froyo, and those are the instructions to use
don't forget to backup /efs folder everyone. this fried my efs folder on the first install and i had to recover it from backup. working great now though with no /efs issues.
Edit: Not saying the rom did it or anything. Sometimes efs just gets rubbed the wrong way during a rom install and jacks up your imei.
Flashing from a froyo-based rom okay?

[ROM] UNOFFICIAL AOKP nightly builds

UNOFFICIAL AOKP Nightly Builds
Since AOKP development has started picking up with their addition of their new Gerrit server, I've decided to release nightly builds for AOKP. These should be released every day anywhere from 6-9pm depending on when I get time to do it. Also, some days I might not get the time. However, it should be almost every day that a new build comes out.
All credits go toward the entire AOKP team for their efforts in making one of the most customizable builds out there right now. It is absolutely fantastic.
You can download it by sorting by date uploaded right here on my goo.im profile:
http://goo.im/devs/rohan/tenderloin/aokp_nightlies
Note: These downloads are provided untested. This might break your system so be sure to keep a backup handy. Nightly builds are usually more unstable than any other type of ROM, but if you want the latest features then use this. I do not take responsibility for anything that may happen to your system.
Another note: These downloads do not come with any sort of support. Do not ask for help in IRC for aokp if you are running these nightlies. They are not official and thus are not officially supported. So don't go and give roman and the other devs a headache
And another note: They don't come with gapps, download those separately from goo.im or some other source.
You should just be able to download and install the zip in CWM, then wipe caches. Reboot and enjoy. No other wiping is needed, only caches.
Right now I am building on my personal PC (I don't have a server) so I apologize if it takes a while to get builds up! My system isn't the fastest at making builds haha
I will be making these ROMs updateable via the goo.im app probably this weekend, I don't have much time right now to figure out how it works.
If you want to find out when I release the new nightly, follow me on twitter: http://twitter.com/rohanXm
Looking forward to it!

The only "side effect" is that you cannot access the Trebuchet settings and your build.prop values will be different leading to some funky and wrong info in your About Tablet area of your settings.

Yup you need to reflash the Package and nope its the default Cyanogenmod Kernel.
This build is 100% AOKP "stock", as in its simply compiled from source with no changes.

The Supreme mods work fine but the xenon kernel broke my wifi (not had any wifi issues on any build) so back to cyanogen kernel and everything is working
The latest nightly (5/07) fixed my screen off/sound bug. All previous builds of AOKP had a muffled or distorted sound bug that appeared once I dimmed the screen while playing music. Bravo! I believe the fix came from the Classicnerd team, who once again prove they are contributing in remarkable ways. Bravo to them as well!
is this wifi driver included in the nightlys?

Yes, but if you experience issues you should do a full wipe.
Dirty flash over the last CM12 nightly, along with system / cache and dalvik (LOL) cache wipe, SLIM zero gapps, latest stable SuperSU release and Boeffla kernel latest beta. All seems fine so far.
I dirty flashed from previous nighly and now my OPO is in a bootloop.
Wiped cache/dalvik/system to no avail
Now I'm trying a full wipe, but I'm not really happy, don't have daily backups.

[ROM] [DISCUSSION] Official Mokee Rom Releases [6.0.1] [GT-I9100]

First I want to say I didn't build this rom, or have anything to do with Mokee Open Source. Any bug reports or feature requests should be directed to Mokee developers.
I only started this thread to provide a link to the roms, as they are not available on xda until now, and a lot of users may not be aware they are still around.
Personally I have found this rom to be very stable, with some nice features.

Recommended Gapps
Open Gapps
Warning(particularly for MM builds): If you try to flash gapps, you will probably find it won't fit on the stock /system partition. In this case you will need to repatition - Repartitioning guide.
Make sure you choose a pit file that increases /system and not just /data(eg, I91001GB_4GB.pit)
Alternatively use Lanchon's re-pitting tool if you want to avoid losing your data
If you want to donate to Mokee and make their life a bit easier(donations will go towards bandwidth etc),
you can donate HERE
Instructions
1. Wipe data/factory reset(from KK compatible recovery)
2. Format /system
3. Flash rom
4. Flash gapps(optional)
5. Flash isorec recovery(for MM, see below), you only need to do this once
6. Reboot
Credits
- Mokee Developers

- AOSP
- SlimRoms
- OmniRoms
Note: Now that Marshmallow(6.x.x) has been released, a warning for anyone flashing these latest nightlies. The kernel(isorec CM kernel) comes bundled with CM recovery, which is more or less useless. If you want a working recovery, you will need to flash the rom, followed by gapps(if you want play store), followed by an isorec recovery from HERE
Be sure to flash either CWM or TWRP for i9100. It is obvious from the name of the file.
And read about Isorec if you are not sure.
Thank you to @Troubadour666 for the Youtube review
Thank you @noppy22 for starting this thread. I had been downloading the ROM from G+ but the added benefit of a thread here on xda means that you have fellow S2 users to discuss problems etc with. Thank you again mate.

As Lineage is the extension/follow on from CM14. So the structure of the ROMs system will differ from stock oxygen os, freedom is, AOSP, CAF, etc.
You need the compatible twrp, and unless you want a fully clean flash, an existing room based on CM14, which includes revolution remix, an existing cm (official or experimental), xenon HD, kang, XOSP etc.
If you're not coming from CM14 then it will have to be full clean flash, including all data.
