They are different models or variants of Grand prime. 3G version, LTE version and so on..

[Q] LTE Version

I think I've convinced myself to get one of these, but am wondering if I am correct in my understanding that there are 2 versions coming: One with LTE and one without.
If that is correct, will the LTE version still do everything radiowise (GSM/HSPA+ etc) and just also add LTE capabilities to the mix?
Finally, I am working in Sweden at the moment, I assume the LTE version will work with Telia's network (in LTE mode)?

This is what me and a lot of other people are wondering about. The marketing rep for Samsung said in a video that it will have HSPA+ AND LTE but does that mean two different models? Or that the capabilities of both are stock? The spec sheets don't say anything about LTE on any of the pre-order sites I've found but the samsung page says that it is an LTE device. I'm completely confused. I wanna buy the unlocked unbranded version but not if it doesn't include LTE...
I saw from somewhere that the Korean version will have LTE support. No information about NFC.

Yeah we get LTE + NFC for korean market but it sucks when you leave the country and realize it's not gonna work

James,
Why does it not work when you leave the country?
Also, do you know if the LTE+NFC version does everything the non-LTE version does (eg HSPA+)?
I'm thinking of just ordering one in from S Korea if it does....
I too want to know: HSPA+ AND LTE or is it one or the other but not both?
Thanks,
Any further update on LTE now that there has actually been some delivery ?
Is there a S Korean ship date for the LTE version?
Yes, very good question! I have been following this release closely the last couple of days, but no words on this issue!
It's really strange, as this is the one real deal breaker for me. No way I am going to buy this device without LTE.
But don't you guys think that they are releasing this in the beginning of next year when first movers have bought this and the fuzz about the product stops? I guess so, unfortunately. It's basically the same story with Galaxy S II / LTE version.

[Q] Galaxy Note 4G LTE + NFC Release date?

i'm looking for the Galaxy Note 4G LTE + NFC Version, when will it be released ? and where first ?
thanks guys
There is no release for that. LTE version will be released in Korea later this year and no NFC for Galaxy Note.
Sent from my HD2 using XDA App
ooh, will there be an unlocked SGN version that i can buy online ?
any release dates will be great to know, so i can made up my mind about buying this version or wait.
plus, dose anyone know the different between the current speed and the LTE speed, download and upload i mean
thanks a lot everyone

The SGS2 is 4G. Can you explain why the US carriers wouldn't have a 4G version of the Note?
I don't see that as realistic.

Let's put it this way. There has not been a LTE Galaxy note pass through the FCC. The only one that has, comes with hspa on ATT frequencies with no LTE. This means that it will be a minimum of a couple months if ever, that there is a LTE version of the Galaxy note that will work on the US LTE (Verizon or ATT) frequencies. It will have to pass through the FCC and then the cats out of the bag.

Good point. I hear that Att's HSPA+ is really fast though.

Well, it depends where you are. In Louisville, ATT is the slowest of the major carriers at around 3.5 mbps down and Verizon is the fastest with LTE pushing 12 mbps down.
I would go into an ATT store where you are and run the speedtest app on a phone labeled 4g (hspa+) and see what you get.
On 3rd Nov Samsung Galaxy Note London show they said there will be two version of Galaxy Note: LET and HSPA+. So, you have to choose one from them and there is no combination of LET/HSPA+ on a single phone. And, they never talk about NFC anywhere.
siamchen,
About your comment; I think it was a bit confusing comment on the London launch. It was stated that it was either a HSPA+ or LTE - but will both version have HSPA (the slow 3g)? I can't find that information anywhere. Anyone know?

I think both versions will have HSPA and what distinguish one from the other is the LTE

Galaxy S 2 World Edition

Today I am buying a world edition Galaxy S 2, is that a bad idea?
Why would it be a bad idea, as long as it's the I9100 then your fine.
If you want the phone then go ahead.

world edition Galaxy S 2 is probably a fancy name for international version of the s2.

I think it is the international version.. I just don't want to get screwed and have no roms, or root
You get updates faster on a world edition phone ota.. But if ur flashing roms doesn't make much of a difference.

Have you seen the forum for the i9100??? You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. There are more roms than you can think about.
It's probably the most supported galaxy s2 now.

If you are on T-Mobile, as your carrier icon says it would be a bad idea. You'll be stuck on edge as far as data goes.

Correct. the Original s2 i9100 does NOT support tmobile 1700mhZ AWS bands so you will be stuck on edge....
do what I did: switched to at&t from T-Mobile, signed a 2yr contract to get an iphone 4s for 199, SOLD the 4s for 500, put a little bit on top and got myself a white i9100
and now on a $10 unlimited data plan because they have no idea what phone im using
at&t's 3g is nowhere near as fats as tmobiles but you have a better selection of "unlocked" phones

Japanese Xperia Z has different specs

One of major differences is that Japanese model has One Seg tv tuner and IR blaster installed. LTE bands are, however, limited to local bands only, so it is not global LTE you can find in models outside of japan.
and btw, it would be available here on Feb 9th, so I guess it will be debut on home turf.
Would like to know what's one seg? I thought it was just an apk bloatware or something lol

For a special network, yes. Completely useless outside Japan.
Did a research lol! And yes it's a tv tuner and what's great was I found the info on a review of HTC Butterfly J
Anyways it's available only on Japan, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru so yeah pretty useless.
But just wondering they all keep saying the devices have the same hardware. So would that mean that even the global Xperia Z has the capabilities of infrared blaster and 1seg but is just disabled?
Japan has a totally different 2G network and seems other network also different...
Wouldn't the network band be altered just by flashing a baseband from another variant?
Even though the Japanese Z seems to have 'extra' features, remember however that since they wont be available outside Japan, development will be very limited, if any. The safest bet would be to go for an 'International' version with an unlocked bootloader.

Well, I am seriously considering getting this phone here in Japan; but I would like to be able to root and flash AOSP as I have done with my Galaxy Nexus, which is the Japanese variant.
I'm looking forward to unlocked bootloaders and AOSP ROMs
Japan has no GSM, it has WCDMA, cdma2000-1x, and LTE as well as an almost totally dead 2G network called PDC.
Japanese one-seg tuners may be able to physically receive south american signals but they can't decode them due to different encodings on the streams. ISDB-T is used in japan. Elsewhere uses a slight variant called ISDB-Tb.
Japanese XZ is supposed to be quad band GSM, triband WCDMA and hexa-band LTE-FDD vs I believe penta-band WCDMA elsewhere.
It's fast!

Buddy, LTE and 4G is the same! 4th generation mobile network. If you've rooted your phone it's easy, just install gravity box and switch to LTE icon, done. It's just the icon, if it shows 4G your're connected to a LTE network!
Comprehensive list of ROMs for N910C?
Does anyone know of a site or thread that lists all of the available ROMs for the SM-N910C? The Phone INFO Samsung app shows it has a UAE ROM, but the default language on first boot is UK English. I'm having the same weird issues with the connectivity icon, and it would be nice to try some different regional firmwares.
