my sm-n9005 won't send text messages, but will receive them. i can only send the messages via wi-fi, but can't do it from my 4g. i am using t-mobile in america.
i have wiped cache to no avail.
Why are you sending text messages over the internet? Text messages are not a data service. Do you mean Whatsapp?
At any rate, check your APN settings.
Tmo USA can do sms/MMS via IMS.

Somehow I just cannot send Text (SMS) from my HTC cell.
I have configured the Web GPRS setting & the internet works, I can send MMS messages but cannot send SMS msgs. Though I can receive SMS msgs sent to me. Wierd uh..... I inserted my SIM card into another phone & I can send & receive msgs. So I know it has to do with some setting on my new HTC cell.
Can someone please shed some light on this

go to phone ,options ,services,select voicemail and text services,hit get settings...,infront of text messages service center u should c :
+1(514)993-1123 then hit ok

i did same thing but when i press Get Setting an error camout saying:
Cannot readsetting from the network.try view setting later,or disconnect data connection and try again.
retry cancel
I pressed retry many time but no way ,still coudnt send sms.
is there any manual setting we can do?????

when i try to send sms a message comput saying:
your text message cannot be sent.be certain that your service center address is correct
in settings and then try sending the message again.
any idea guys
I think it could be in some file or registry. Because wm's creators missed this option in GUI.
I have the same problem like guys above.
Maybe someone know where is this log to edit it manually. I mean SMS Service Center...

how about sending SMS only?
I am trying to get my TouchPro to send SMS instead of MMS. I have the phone 514 number for text message settings. I don't want to send a text and ppl who received it gets it like a MMS.
Any one have an issue with getting sms working? I receive the at&t sms that told me about visual voicemail, and at&t messanging...but can't send or receive from any of my friends.
Is there a APN settings that needs tweaking??? Or call support?
at&t had removed my text feature...that's certainly a reason for it to stop.

I also just rooted, removed bloatware and installed xposed I dont know if it was working before all this

I was just curious as to why I see upload activity in the LTE drop down icon whenever I send a regular text, not MMS?
Does anybody else experience this?
What data is being uploaded if it is just a text?
you can see this if you send a text and pull down the top menu as it is sending.
Any help would be much appreciated.

SMS typically uses the same connection as voice, so for most carriers this is GSM or CDMA (not LTE), but there is definitely a standard for SMS, MMS, and voice over LTE... It is probably an app triggered to sync by you initiating a connection.
