[Q] What app should I use to move apps to sd card, using my rooted note 4? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I searched the web but cant find a clear answer and youtube isnt helping on this topic, will someone please refer me to an app that will give me the capability to move apps and games to my External SD card using T-Mobile note 4 , thank you!

You should be able to do that by using the built-in app manager in settings, but i'm afraid the game data will remain in the internal memory.
You could use Folder Mount (search in Play Store) to move the data to the external SD and make a symlink on the internal memory.

Is it possible?

Is it possible for some1 to post here the original file explorer from android?
My problem is that all aplications dont use the internal memory, such as camera (specially videos...), music players, and so on... I have to install everything on external mem card wich is kinda slower, making my phone have crappy performance.
or, is there any way to make apps use my internal memory?
This should be asked in the general section... anyways, some ROMs allow you to use internal and external SD card, for example, cm7, but most apps use external SD for accessing and storing data. You still can use internal SD to store files, and browse them with any file explorer (it doesn't matter if it's the original android file explorer).

i got ur point, but this is also some pray for the rom makers to implement the stuff to make it possible to acess stuff on internal memory.
For example, none of the music players i tried acess internal memory (we cant set the folder and auto scan doesnt acess it either) wich sucks.
Also, any1 got the music player with the equalizer (wanted to use SRS WOW like on stock roms) wich isnt present on most cooked roms)?

If you need/want to move apps to SD on the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

Try Link2SD available on the Play Store
There's a thread for it here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326
Make sure to read, read, and then again read the instructions before proceeding.
moving apps
According to published info moving apps to ext SDcard in ICS is possible with Gemini App Manager 2.4.5/smile.gif
Thanks for the information. I was wondering which app people were running for moving apps to the SD.
yeah this is def needed, i love this tablet 7
EZ moving apps to SD
The ability to move apps, folders and media files is built into GT2. Use the native My Files app to drag and drop files from internal to external sd card. Move files from the right pane into the External SD card folder in the left pane.
I've used My Files to move files and folders but would that actually work with an app? I would think the app would become unusable or would it even be seen anymore?
I have moved the apk from the data folder into the external SD card and the apps have continued to work fine. Of course some apps should not be moved, ie: those with Widgets.
Well, I'm gonna have try that out. Thanks.

I may be doing something wrong since, despite being rooted, I can't seem to get to the Root directory to access Data/App using the My Files app. Would you mind showing us the steps to do that?
With your suggestion, we have to manually move each app that we install? Kinda tedious.
If so, I'll stick to Link2SD.

Sorry, not the same thing. Moving files from int SD to Ext SD is not the same thing as Apps2SD.
The method list in the OP works for me.
thanks! but the data of the apps, which is the more space that has it can't be moved.
Am I the only one that can't move apks to the external SD?
I tried all of these suggested apps but all of them tell me that there is not enough space...
I've an EMPTY 32Gb SD well partitioned (28gb FAT32 and 1gb Ext3). What's wrong on my tablet? :cyclops:

Try gl2sd or directory bind or app2sd but first format the card in s2 or s3 or tab2 device not in computer

this does not work and was using v2.5.3 on JB 4.1.1
Stock firmware can't read ext3, u must format your second partition in ext4. Link2sd works, but move only apks data, not all data (u can move an apk of a game but not all 1gb or more...)
Gltosd moves all datas. I use it.
It will be useful if the creator of the script to swap internal/external sd card, will make a p3100 version of his script....

Root: Solve S4 Storage problem with Folder Mount

Hi all loads of chatter about storage on the Galaxy S4, the best solution to the storage issue on the S4 is to Root and use Folder Mount from Google Play to move the app data and build a virtual link in the Android OS.
Video guide:
You need to keep in mind that if you have a crap SD card that is either slow or failing then you will see a performance dip in games or app responsiveness if it needs to access the externally stored files.
Your other root option is Debloater to remove the sammy apps you don't need, or use both these and save space and install more stuff
Does it really work well?

Bind/Link to external sd card from folder within internal sd card

First of all, I just created a thread about this but apparently it never posted so if there are multiple threads by me I apologize.
Anyway, I am trying to create a folder in /sdCard that will link to /storage/extSdCard for apps that start in internal sd card but won't let me go up one folder so that I can navigate to external sd card. I did accomplish this on my s2 using directory bind but it doesn't seem to work on my note 3. I'm sorry if this is confusing. I will try to elaborate if needed.

Can anyone help me, please?

Directory bind is old and no longer supported.
Check out the app "folder mount" in the play store. Worked a charm on my s4 so I'm sure it will be fine on the Note 3 as well.

Has anyone got folder mount to work with the Note 3 yet? I'm running stock MJ7 rooted with Chanfire easy root method, double and triple checked everything. Managed to get the app to move the original data from internal SD to my 64GB Sandisk Class 10 external SD but the link pin will not turn green.
It's driving me mad and I'm on the verge of selling the Note 3 and going back to my S2 (along with the very easy vold.fstab SD card swap mod)!!
Use solid explorer if you want to go up a folder to navigate to external sd. Also note 3 does app2sd so why the need for all this?

App2sd moves the installed app files, not the SD data that many games download in order to play. Some are in excess of 1-2GB and if you have a few installed then your internal SD space soon runs out
Same issue
I created a thread idential to this earlier n however ot realising this one already existed my bad.
Ive had the exact same problem, the closest ive came is with File mount i was able to get Modern combat 4 to work succesfully, but nothing else and i tryed most of the top end games with massive data files.
No ideas why mc4 worked, and real racing 3 worked. All of the other games show up as binding correctly and when i run a check the directorys show as being mounted in the same way as MC4 and real racing 3 however when i run the apk the games cant find the data files and start re downloading.
Hopefully someone works away round this or creates a new programme cause its so restrictive, install the top 10 android games and all your internal memorys completely used up
i used to use apps2sd before directory bind was available but the reality is that its pretty useless now for most modern games,

How to move games to exsternal sd card rooted

Samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 SM-T210
Either go to setting->apps choose the app you want to move, tap on it, and then tap "move to sd card", or use some app like clean master (it does many other things too)

I use it too! good!
use this app / WAPKInstallManager...
if you are using a custom rom chances are it supports external and internal storage swap which means external sd will be considered internal , you can do that by either an option in settings/storage/storage config and check use internal as external (or something like that) or you can edit build.prop , for gameloft games you can use gl2sd from play store , you'll be able to move the cache to external sd , you can also use directory bind which binds the path of a folder in external sd to a folder that you choose (android/data/ in your case) , afaik link2sd only installs apks in sd card not game cache (external sd storage is slower so i dont advice you to do that for games ) , i hope i helped u
