[WIP] Android Library for Sony LifeLog API - Sony Cross-Device General

Hi folks,
I am a huge LifeLog fan, and I like all the more details this platform has over Google Fit. Last year, Sony had made the web API open. (REST + Oauth based).
https://developer.sony.com/develop/services/lifelog-api/
I had just started working on an app for the LifeLog platform and realised there is certain need for a android java library (as a wrapper over the REST API) for LifeLog. As an app developer wanting to quickly take advantage of LifeLog, it is too much to ask for to implement oauth and rest client side functionality.
So here goes a Work-in-progress repository
https://github.com/championswimmer/Lifelog-Android-Library
As of Apr 22, 2015, Login, auth_token generation is working. Also fetching location history data is also working. The activities data implementation is yet to be done. I intend to finish that in a couple of days maybe.
Code can be shoddy. If you can help me improve, I'd definitely love that.
Feel free to open up issues on the github repo to report any bugs or problems you have with it.

[APP] Beta testers wanted! Simon Tatham's Puzzles, native edition

(Feel free to move/copy this to anywhere beta requests should be.)
Simon Tatham's portable puzzle collection is 27 single-player games, all automatically generated (so you never run out of puzzles). I first ported this to Android about a year ago, but that was before the Native Development Kit, so I had to use NestedVM instead, which made it slow to start a game, memory-hungry, and storage-hungry (5MB!) It was also before any keyboardless devices, so I didn't bother with any on-screen keyboard support. There was no translation support. It had a few other smaller bugs that I've left there for far too long.
Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce... the new, slimmer (632KB apk, 1.21MB install), faster, translatable, keyboard-enabled Puzzles. Edit: This can now be found on Android Market and on the project website.
Update: 8736.2 now includes docs in the package, without launching a Browser, which I know a lot of Market commenters wanted.
Update: 8736.3 fixes a crash on rotation during your first game.
Update: 8745.2 allows saving/loading games (on SD card). This is compatible with other platforms.
Update: 8750.2 fixes several serious bugs on Android 2.0 / Droid, and devices with small screens, and has a rewritten crash handling system to send me logs by email.

Thanks!
Thanks!
I just installed 8736.3 and it works great. No problems so far. I really like the speed boost!
Thanks,
It works perfectly on my G2.

Universal web services suite for iPhone and Android apps

Hi there! We are a group of iPhone / Android developers who have developed a suite of web services to assist us and other developers in building great apps.
After numerous projects we have become tired of having to set up the server scripts to do all the same things for different clients. Most of the server functionality
is typical: 1) storing location data for Google Maps; 2) storing users' high scores / ranks; 3) sending Push Notifications; 4) storing files / XML; etc.
We couldn't use the existent solutions because in some cases they didn't provide the required functionality and in most cases they require your users to be exposed to some social network of theirs, while our clients just want a simple functionality without users knowing of any services behind that.
So we have launched what we call Mob1serv, a universal server solution for the typical needs of iPhone / Android apps. It consists of modules which deal with most common tasks:
• High Scores - a powerful online high scores table
• PushNote - a module allowing to send immediate or delayed Push Notifications (you can build instant messengers or alarm clocks, anything with this)
• GeoPos - stores locations of Google Map objects, their statuses and 'last seen online' time
• OAuth contracter - allows you to implement transparent authentication and integration with Facebook, Twitter, Google etc
• More modules to come!
We have tried to make it as simple as possible for developers, so you just need to register at the back end and then you can add as many apps as you want and start using these services. From the client (app) side, you need to add a library to your project and put a corresponding ID there, that's it.
The service is free, it's a 'freemium' model. It has been built by developers for developers. Some developers and apps are already using it as it was open for alpha testing before, but now we are launching it open for the world so that we can see what you're thinking of it and also get your feedback of how we can improve the existent modules or what modules to add next. Welcome to Mob1serv - mob1serv.com!

FOSS(Free/Libre) Software Repository

For anyone who likes to use/support FOSS and have access to the source code for what they install, f-droid.org has a handy app that lets you see only FOSS apps(you can loosen the restriction in the settings somewhat if need be).
http://f-droid.org/repository/
I've found the two pane file explorer and SSH ConnectBot and the IRC client to be excellent for my purposes. Anyone else using any of it?
Yes I use those apps (ghost commander you are talking about) as well as k9mail, osmand and about 10 more. Actually I've stopped using Google Play altogether. The problem I have is that many open source apps are getting released all the time and a lot of them dont get into f-droid , for various reasons, the main one being there is not enough developers to put together the recipes. You can suggest an app on the f-droid forums but you might have to wait a while until a developer gets around to collecting the metadata, inspecting the source code for dodgy bits, and merging it. This post http://f-droid.org/forums/topic/adding-apps-with-git/#post-587 explains the process and it doesn't look that hard. I think if more developers were aware of its existence and submitted their own apps the repo would be a lot healthier.
thanks

[APP][WiP][ICS-only] XMPP for Android

Hi,
I started developing an XMPP/Jabber/GoogleTalk/... client for Android that is designed as a replacement for Google Talk app.
Currently it does not support Google Talk however it is a good jabber client with conferences.
It is in deep development - so there are many buttons that do not work properly - but i would like you to test it
I have no screenshots yet - but imagine google talk ones here - it looks and behaves like it.
source: https://github.com/mar-v-in/XMPP-for-Android
latest test version download (might be unstable): https://github.com/mar-v-in/XMPP-for-Android/raw/master/bin/xmpp.client.apk
Notes:
Before you start the app the first time, create an account in settings/accounts&sync
The app only supports conferences saved server-side. However some popular XMPP-clients store them offline (what is not what they should do!) - use Gajim on your pc to setup. - http://gajim.org/
Hope you like it.

Developer needed

Im looking for a developer that has experience with google services especially the google calender.
We have a fully fleshed out idea. I have one developer now but he does not have much time.
native android code will be used and we are developing with android studio. We have a git repo (currently empty) setup and notes and slides from the initial discussion phase of the development process.
I can not reveal specific details about the app only that it will tie in directly to google calendar and that most of the code for the app can be pulled from the current calendar app and reworked for this project. This will be a pay app (might have limited free version) and there is definite potential for profit.
If you are interested please contact me via PM so that we may discuss it further.
