Lenovo Lemo K3 Note Hands on, Antutu, Battery, GPS, Google Play store review - K3 Note General

In current market, there is a much competitive and popular smartphone from Lenovo, although it's not the first 64bit 4G LTE smartphone, and it also the upgraded version of Lenovo Lemo, we must figure out the model, right, it's Lenovo Lemo K3 Note. After Meizu announced its note version, Meizu M1 Note, 'Note' has become the trendy word, like Xiaomi Note, so does Lenovo K3 Note. We are delighted to get the goods to make a specific hands on review for you when you have questions to purchase this one.
Design
Lenovo K3 Note has boosted 5.5inch FHD IPS screen instead of the Lenovo k3 with 5.0inch HD IPS screen, in view of the screen size and screen resolution, large screen size can be regarded as a small tablet pc, like a popular phablet, especially for those large-palm foreigner. What's more, i am so picky with the screen resolution, if i bought a smartphone with lower screen resolution, which means the less superior video quality. Fortunately, Lenovo K3 note has the highest screen resolution with 1920 * 1080pixels, which enables me to enjoy more full high definition videos, games, and so on. This factor is very critical for me.
Hardware
Lenovo K3 Note has also made changed about its CPU, this time it uses the latest and most popular MTK6752 64bit Octa core 1.7GHz CPU rather than Qualcomm MSMS8916 64bit Quad Core 1.2GHz CPU of Lenovo Lemo K3, built in RAM 2GB ROM 16GB, larger than RAM 1GB of Lenovo K3. As you know, a chipset is as important as human's heart, 64bit Octa core processor has come into a mature and stable stage for most smartphones. I can play 3D games freely and rapidly by Lenovo K3 Note, meanwhile, RAM 2GB running memory helps me store and run the enough apps to avoid the lack storage to be stuck.
Dual Camera
When i pick a smartphone, i also attch importance to the dual camera, it has 13MP back camera and 5MP front camera, both cameras enable me to take a picture in low light, let alone in strong light. I always take this smartphone to shoot some beautiful moments in my life and then upload in my zone. I believe as time passed by, it can be eternal.
Software
For most Lenovo smartphone, it just can support Chinese and English, and it doesn't have Google play store. Right now we can share the good news that this one not only has google play store, but also set up in your mother tongue. Meanwhile, I can use GPS to locate where i want to go to avoid losing the way. Other practical softwares such as facebook, twitter, bluetooth are provided for you free. In addition, 3000mAh Battery lets me call or play for one day without charging more. I can't express more about this smartphone.
Price and Coupon
Lenovo K3 Note begins to sell now below $170 today to get a nice budget phone. Now there are Yellow and White in stock. Which one will you choose? More latest review about Chinese smartphone will come soon, stay tuned.

Just and insurance..

The official roms are very good, no need of any password of any thing : http://www.vibeui.com/vibeui/rom?key=k3 note
Install it via CWM.
It will overwrite the recovery by the official one, just reflash it by the CWM recovery and re-root as usual with : https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU

I really want to get this device! But a few questions for those that have it...
(a) what is the quality of the camera? For the price, I know I can't expect too much, but I am hoping it is significantly better than my current phone (Moto G 2013)
(b) from youtube videos it looks like the screen has quite a significant blue tint to the screen colors. Have you found this to be the case, and have you tried using any apps to correct it?
(c) has anybody successfully used a 64GB micro SD card with it?
(d) it seems that it does not come with Google Play. Has anybody successfully replicated the steps posted by dreambo to root and install gapps?

I HAD A BIG DREAM... BUILDING MY EXYNOS QUADCORE DREAM TABLET... Ideas Wanted!!

Hello XDA! Greetings from Berlin. :highfive:
My name is Johann I'm a Berlin based Electronics Engineer.
You may be wondering why I'm posting here... Right? Well... I'm building my big dream... The fastest ever Android QuadCore tablet based on an Exynos SOC. Yes, the 4412.
Is there anybody here who wants to give me some suggestions?
From now on, my team and I have successfully integrated the SOC, a GPS + BT module, and, an HD Screen.
What would you like to see on a tablet?

Isn't that essentially the Note 10.1?
Well first let me say this is the coolest thing i've seen on here, i know nothing about phone/tablet hardware but i know a LOT about computer hardware, since this is a tablet would a laptop GPU work in it? Also if possible you should try and take a 4G antenna from another tablet and put it in here, Also could you give us detailed specs? Like the PPI and such of the screen?

Mmm... Yes... but the size of the screen will be 8" or 9.7", and, we're building it to never exceed the 159USD as our target price on Bill Of Materials Any suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks for writing!

Hi PantechBurstOwner
That's a good idea. We've been researching about the 4G module, and, actually testing it.
The screen we're testing now is an HD 1024x768px, this one is a normal IPS screen (132PPI from LG), but there's a better one comming. I'll update as soon as it arrives here.
For the 4G modem, the main challange is to find a module thin enough to fit on the casing. On the picture attached you can see the left prototype has 3G module in (A 4G one will fit too), and, the right one is much thinner, and, a 4G module doesn't fit

Thanks for the comments. For the GPU it'll be the ARM's Mali400 MP (4 Cores Version), the same being used by the Galaxy S3. The CPU will be clocked at 1.6GHZ, so it'll be smooth.
Now we're thinking about the Firmware, as our prototype is now running on Stock Android, but my idea is to do something more impressive.
Which firmware would you love to see running on it? Cyanogen?
Cyanogenmod would be great, if it's smaller though (think 7 inches) think Paranoid Android.
What would really differentiate it, would be if you already had a dual boot preinstalled on it with a little taste of everything. i.e. MIUI, CM10, and one more ultra customizable ROM (I suppose CM10) with themes that could be applied straight through the software. I understand this would probably be a pain to do, but it would make your tablet the MOST versatile tablet out there.
Also, consider like Asus, you may want to consider shoving a port on the bottom for a keyboard dock. Big fan of keyboards...
(Yes I understand I'm practically spamming you with ideas and not many of them are possible, nonetheless, lots of ideas are better than none... no?)

Would you consider a proposal to the cyanogenmod team? It'll be nice to see a highly customizable stock firmware on a tablet..
Big +1
Ain't using separate 4G module too expensive? I don't think there should be any problem in fitting it onboard if you integrate it into one PCB design.
I'd like to see all unused cpu I/Os breaked out into set of pads onboard and documented, like UART, second USB port, I2C bus, FIMC interfaces and so on.
Also, don't get me wrong but if this project doesn't get realised (I really wish it does) - please publish non-NDA documentation. :]
MicroSD, maybe a USB port (unless it's too thick). Sounds pretty siiiick
This goes straight to my Christmas wish list!
But instead of a crippled Cyanogenmod I'd rather see dual-booting to Ubuntu and perhaps some Linaro builds. Staying close to Samsung SGS3 stock, may be a good idea for compatibility issues.
USB3 + HDMI + Front-facing Cam + JTAG over USB support (1149.7, NIDnT) + possibly UART HW debug
But perhaps more importantly, everything should be easily accessible from outside your platform so we can help hacking it back into shape when something goes wrong! Second, make sure we can freely mess with the boot configuration... I'd be happy to help sponsoring the low profile SMT DIP switch for boot config.
If you have space problems you should seriously consider using a quad-core (Krait) Snapdragon S4 Pro (MSM8960T) PoP SoC instead. Because if not, you'll need external modem support. So in your current configuration, what modem are you using? If you use the Intel XMM6260 you'll need a lot more support components, AFAICT, unless their new flagship (XMM7160) has managed even more integration somehow.
Good Luck!
so how long does the battery last? like how many mah or whatever it is lol also what would be cool is dual booting instead of ubuntu dual boot to windows 8, also a built in stand=somuchwin
Exynos 4 going to be outdated soon.
Regardless, I hope this tablet sees the light of day. A tablet that lets you easily install custom ROMs by default has been long overdue.
(Or, yes, an ubuntu tablet, though I'm not sure if even A15 would be fast enough.)
NFC, it HAS TO HAVE NFC dont build it into the back cover, if i were to get this i would paint the back and throw some LED's in it, i cant do that with my nexus 7
Edit: what processor is this?!!!!! http://gyazo.com/b8e91207a4115e1c91b2d0164c52cbc1
Well, this is a great idea First I would consider not using 4G if you don't want to go in an expensive way... I would also consider using Stock Android ROM for the fans out there (like for example with the G Nexus) Processor you can use the powerful one from the Galaxy Note 10.1, but I also like tegra processors.
Subscribing to this thread!

Lenovo Vibe P1

The Lenovo Vibe P1 just launched a week ago,
Thinking to buy this device but,
It seems rumor mill has already started churning, about the device facing a "Heating issue".
The device is pretty great for a low ranged smartphone with,
Android v5.1 (Lollipop) OS
4900mAh, Quick Charge
Fingerprint Reader NFC
13 MP PDAF f2.2 Camera
5 MP f2.8 Camera
Dual Sim (LTE + LTE)
5.5 inch FHD 1080p Touchscreen
1.5 GHz Snapdragon 615 64-bit Octa Core Processor
Expandable Storage Capacity of 128 GB
can someone who owns/ knows someone who does/ or expert reviewer , shed some light about this device's issues, especially the heating one? Thanks in advance
I am using one.. Got it yesterday only.. Using it continuously, but No heating issues till now.. But I don't play games and hence ymmv..
Could you test it with some standard games like Clash Of Clans, Asphalt or Modern Combat?
The Heating issue is over hyped on various sites, scared to buy it because of that.
Not Much of a Heater
The phone even after serious gaming for upto 45 mins doesnt go above 44-45 degs (Celcius). Dont worry, I was worried too, saw the gaming review with temp, & then placed the order. I'll be getting mine in a couple of days.
Thanks, was badly worried with the reviews saying the Lenovo Vibe P1 heats upto 50-55 Celsius on long calls and gaming.
how to root this??
Thank

I really want to root this phone
I tried kingroot and iRoot applications
Can anyone suggest a proper way to root this phone ?
Is there a separate FAST CHARGING option for charging?
or it's a separate cable or something?
I am using this phone and the only tim I get this heated up is when it is charging .... but again not more than 45 - 46 .. so this is a good phone and worth the money spent
Fantastic fone for the price. Cost me less than 200 dollars equivilant coupled with an exchange. Good performance. Excellent battery life. Fast charging. Colors and hues not as good as an OPO. Looks quite OK.
5.1.1 out of the box.
Hope developers develop interest in building Custom RoMs, other development support.

New Asus Zenfone Max 2016 with Octa Core CPU, 2/3GB RAM and Android 6.0 launched!

Asus recently announced the refreshed version of its Zenfone Max. The new phone now comes with an Octa Core Snapdragon 615 Processor , 2/3GB of RAM and a 'monstrous' 5000mAh Battery. It gets 32GB of internal storage which is expandable upto 64GB via a MicroSD card slot. The 2GB variant will be sold for INR 9,999 and the 3GB variant will be sold for INR 12,999. I have been using the phone since the past few days and the difference of putting a Snapdragon 615 over the original 410 is noticeable. Along with that, The smoothness of the UI has also been improved. I will be doing a full review of this phone soon but for now, Here is the unboxing and Gaming overview of the phone in 4k.
Thanks
please kindly tell me the build number of Android M on this device .
Being touted as an affordable smartphone, the best feature about the smartphone is its humongous battery: use it all you want and it is highly unlikely most users will be disappointed. Apart from this, the display is good for everyday usage, nothing spectacular. The camera is above average, and the device does have a hefty body thanks to its beefy battery. Android Marshmallow brings all the bells and whistles we've grown accustomed to in this OS, while ZenUI throws in a ton of apps--something you may like if that's your thing.
I am loving the new 615 model...Has anyone managed to get custom recovery TWRP for this device ??

Redmi Note 4 Pros & Cons Read before Purchase

Post Removed.. Due to Someone Copy My Article. my article available on my website Mod edit: Link removed
We are very Very Sorry..
Unfortunately, I'm fairly certain that we will never get the sources required for a proper custom ROM on this device, mainly because it is Mediatek.
Waiting for Redmi Note 4 Pro (Snapdragon)...
They will launch Snapdragon version in India due to patent issues with Erricson. So we might get our hands on the source code just like Note 3.

The Snapdragon 652 will be a beast on this phone, especially when the ROMs start rolling in.

So it's MediaTek? I have 3 MT devices, none of them have enough space in the user partition. I thought that was the reason why there were slow and unresponsive.
But these look a lot better than what I already have. Can they be rooted, do the standard recoveries show upside-down. CWM is easier to manage that way, but TWRP is difficult.

Mediatek device main problem is regarding enough space and fast access. I hope Redmi note 4 wiil work much better if a user can root this device & create SD partition .

What phone after Jiayu S3 ?

I own my jiayu S3 since a long time. It's simply the best phone I have had so far. I love it, and I even bought another one for my wife. But with the applications updates and time passing, the 16 Gb of memory is simply not enough anymore for my usage.
I would like to find a replacement phone similar to my Jiayu with at least 32 Gb of memory and 4 Gb of ROM. The new phone should be dual sim (I work and live in two countries), compatible with European 4G, provide an extension for a memory card (that doesn't use a sim slot) and be easily rootable (I'm an IT engineer, so this is a must). The price should also be less then 300€ (my Jiayu S3 costed me less than 200€, with accessories and shipment included).
Is there any phone that can match this ? I just can't find any so far. I'm asking here because I suspect I'm not the only one wondering what one can use after a Jiayu S3.

It's a tough one. Been looking too for some upgrade after 2+ years of S3 use but there is always one or two things that you have to sacrifice - NFC, separate mSD slot, or sometimes B20 frequency on 4G network. For me, an upgrade from S3 would be a minimum of 4/64GB and 4000 mAh battery. I was looking for a larger screen also (Mi Max 2 with 6.44" is my favorite, although no NFC) and also some od Redmi Note series or some LeEco 5.7" models. Oh, and there is Lenovo P2 but it's not so much of an upgrade.
I like the idea of discussing next phone. We have something in common: our amazing JYS3 but, I think, also our belief in open source development. Next, we inevitably also focus on some different parameters (money, size, functionality, ...).
Personally, money is not the main obstacle, and, I would like a big 6.5" phone (and if needed at all : a 17" tablet) . Actually: for big screen Android experience I prefer a TV box (and dual boot LE for fun), so I probably do not need a tablet.
So, right now, I have hope for 'Huawei Honor Note 9' or 'Xiaomi Mi Mix 2' but -only- if some minimal, say, Google -style ROM can be built. If not then I would be equally happy with a big size madOS supported Mediatek device with excellent specs and support (just like my beloved JYS3s). Or, ideally: a OnePlus 6+ (6.5" phone).
For MadOS Rom, Superdragon mentioned perhaps getting the Vernee Apollo ...

Vernee Apollo looks OK. I want more than 6" next phone. But that's just my wish.
What do you guys think of the Ulefone T1, is it any good and will it be supported bij MAD or other team?
Umidigi S2 Pro?
I think next week I will be ordering Mi Max 2, after 2.5 years of Jiayu S3. It's still running fine so I will probably keep it as backup (and to test Oreo if it comes in near future , but I decided it's time for a bigger screen and much better battery with QC3, which is one of the principal reasons for upgrade...

Exactly. It's a critical advantage for the (more advanced) users to also have open source ROMs available.

Vernee Apollo 2 or LeEco LE MAX 3 I want to see them soon in reviews. Good screen, power and design

Actually, I do not want that phone anymore. Maybe an Apollo 2 Vernee or a Leeco le Max3 (in the future)
A MTK x30 or a smartphone equal or superior Snapdragon 821
A colleague just told me about the XIAOMI Mi A1. It looks like a very good candidate to replace my Jiayu S3:
- nearly stock android, developed with Google partnership (the first Android One phone from Xiaomi), so it should get frequent updates. Android 8 Oreo planned for the end of the year
- made for the international market, not just for China
- dual sim. However the second SIM slot is also used for a memory card. What a silly trend ! But it has 64 GB of ROM, so this is a bit less of an issue
- 4 GB of RAM
- 5.5 inches 1920x1080, like the Jiayu S3
- snapdragon 625 2Ghz
- gpu Adreno 506
- 3080mah battery
- cheap, less than 240$ (200€)

Why did you change your mind?
Those two phones dont look as good as the Umidigi S2 Pro in my opinion.
And slightly better specs dont care to me, am not going to play heavy games.
Personally I've moved from Mediatek devices, got a Le Max 2 and it's a big step camera wise. Mediatek devices promise a lot but these Chinese companies fail to deliver on the specs. They keep bragging about the image sensor because they know they're not going to optimize the image quality.
Outside of MAD there's not really any development going on for Mediatek devices, and Mediatek seems to have given up on high-performance SoCs (X30 was a big flop), so it'll be the boring octa-core A53s for next year. You can find decent Qualcomm devices for the same price, and you'll get custom roms.

This ticks a lot of boxes for me but it is missing NFC.
