[Q] KDZ Flash issues - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
So I basically made a noob mistake. I had a custom recovery installed on my d802 and I opted to update the software via the LG apps. Now I am stuck at the LG logo on start-up. Normally this wouldn't bother me so much, but the problem is when I try to flash the original firmware with the flash tool. I have looked everywhere and haven't found a proper answer (forgive me if I missed a thread).
The problem is that I get an error saying your phone is disconnected when I'm pretty sure its not, and the phone screen displays "fastboot: processing commands". I have tried a different usb cable, a different pc with different version of windows. But unlucky so far.
Apart from this though, I was wondering if I could flash the Italy lollipop KDZ? I am in Germany and since I have the same model number (D802) I might as well give it a try. What are your thoughts?
Any help from you guys is highly appreciated.

Hi!
Yes, I'm pretty sure you can flash the Italy .kdz, 'cause it's correspond, basically, to the open version. I think there is some bloatwares, but they can be remove by root. you can even flash the spanish .kdz, but there is vodafone's bloatwares inside.
But if you're stuck in fastboot, I don't know if you can access to download mode. Can you describe actual state or your phone? Do you have access to recovery? Download Mode? Can you boot?

Whenever I try to move into download mode it automatically takes me to fastboot. I cant access recovery or hard reset. But yes the lg logo does come up and thats all, it evens goes as far as the second time the logo comes up and the leds come on. But thats about it. It shows download mode for a little while and then automatically goes into fastboot.
Thats all I have right now.

Well this is not pretty. I just realised my phone isn't getting into download mode. I was under the impression that getting into fastboot when connecting phone to pc is the normal case for everyone. But im supposed to get into download mode rather than fastboot, eh?
Now i'm really out of clues. Appreciate your help devs!

[Q] Problems with LG Official update software

Hi there,
I installed the LG software update app, and when I plugged in my phone it did some checking and said that there was an update available.
So I clicked OK, waited for ages for the kdz package to download, and then it started the update.
Problem is, it gets to 14% on the phone screen (20% on my computer) and then it hangs for a while. Eventually the PC app says "upgrade stopped due to an error". Now my phone is constantly stuck on the Firmware Upgrade screen, even when I restart it, and I can't even ADB onto it, or use Linux to view it (as mentioned in a different post).
I can't get into download mode or recovery mode... just this Firmware Upgrade screen.
Any ideas what I can do? I stupidly thought that - as it was an official upgrade - it wouldn't screw up my phone... how stupid do I feel ???
Anything I can try? My phone is an LG G2 International (D802) version.
Thanks a lot,
JM
@MOD, sorry - I realised my OP was in the wrong place, so moved it here

Hi there,
Nope - can't get into any other mode than this "Update" mode... gonna try a few tools. Was trying to salvage my stuff, but it's not the end of the world to wipe it.
Thanks,

Problem solved! Try the .TOT method shown here:

The .KDZ method didn't work for me, from this post or any other. The .TOT method worked first time!

everything you need is here.
check again if you don't have USB connection of any kind. If you do have something in the PC responding to the G2 being connected, it isn't a hard brick and you can fix it with this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
Otherwise you just have to do this short the caps thing. Be careful and renember that this is always a better option than staying with a bricked device. You can also try to give the phone to some experienced repaired and tell him about the method and how will it cost.

Thanks for the reply.
But it says:

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!
You must use the img files that correspond to the ROM you have installed before getting the problem to avoid breaking your phone. The link above is for 10b_EUR_16G firmware version. So don't use those files if your firmware version was not that one. Instead you should look for img files corresponding to the current version installed in your phone. If you don't know what version you've installed then don't use this method because you will break your phone.

You have to know which model your phone is.
Do you know your phone's IMEI? http://www.lgkdz.com/ Go here and it will get the file you need to download via your IMEI (even though it is risky to put the IMEI in the internet).
Otherwise you can just search for your kdz file by knowing what model you have and what stock rom you had last time. You can always revert to that.
Mine is D802 32GB, has V30b-EUR software. That is enough for me to get the correct kdz file even by searching in the links provided in the tutorials I mentioned in my last message

Do you have access to download mode? Since your PC recognizes the phone as MTP Device, I'm not sure but I think that's only possible if you have /system/ working since the other partitions don't have MTP support originally.
If you have that, go there: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Flash with the tot method and you should be good to go.
But wait for someone who can confirm what I'm saying since I'm no expert.

LG G2 D802 - Hard Bricked whilst trying to flash KDZ.

Hi All you very clever people.
This is my first post, have been watching from the shadows for a long time on xda, but have finally met my match and have to ask for help!
I had the (I believe) HK version of lollipop 5.0.1 KDZ that was 'leaked' a while back (possibly the first LP one out?), liked it for the most part but wanted to go back to KK. Tried to flash via KDZ again the KK KDZ. Unknowingly I tried using a USB3.0 socket and it didn't work. I then unplugged the cable from the computer and plugged it into a USB2.0, still didn't work a few times.
Foolishly I thought, 'I know, I'll reset the phone and try again!'. This then stopped me form getting into download mode!!!
I can still get to recovery fine but resetting just gets me back to a black screen. I am getting the 9006 error of bulk usb mode or something. I have tried SRKtools and still cant get to download mode? Is my best bet finding the corresponding .img files for that rom and flashing them in ubuntu?
On that note, does anyone have a link for that KDZ image by any chance. Can't find mine on my computer anymore (again foolishly probably thought, 'won't need that any more, phone is working!').
Also wondering if this has erased the rom on there of if it is just related to boot? It won't boot into the rom at all just black screen after LG logo?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! :good: :good:
Cheers
Oz

KitKats are 20x, I think. But you should know that as you already tried to flash one.
Sorry I'm new so I can't post plain links.
Give us some info about your phone please

Stock ROM that is flashable with Smart Phone Flash Tool

Hello,
My situation is very specific, but I try to explain as well as possible. My phone is a LG Magna H500f. I decided to try a H502f Custom ROM, because the hardware seemed to be the same. Wasn't a good idea. Closely as bad as the idea to flash the stock ROM of the H502f.
Now I got a soft bricked smartphone. I can boot only into the download mode, but the Smart Phone Flash Tool (SMFT) and some LG device flashers don't work either. There is one little exception. When the phone is turned off and I plug it into an USB port, it is in the download mode for about one second. This is enough for the SMFT to link in and flash. The main problem is, that there is just the stock ROM in the kdz format. That means you need a LG device flasher to flash it. But they don't work, even not in one second of download mode (I really tried it ). So what I need is the stock ROM in image format (boot.img, recovery.img, ...)
I crawled the entire internet with my private botnet, but I didn't found anything in three days.
I hope somebody can help, so I don't have to endure the consequences of my stupidy.
Greetings, Julian

LG V20 F800L stuck in static screen in download mode after failed root attempt - Can enter TWRP and fastboot but cannot update firmware

Hello everyone,
I have an LG V20 F800L that got stuck in download mode with a static screen after a failed root attempt. While I am able to enter TWRP and fastboot modes, I am unable to update the firmware on my phone.
Initially, I can connect to Wi-Fi, but the phone gets stuck while updating, and I cannot access the home screen. I have left it overnight, but the phone remains in the same state.
When I try to upgrade or downgrade a .kdz file using the modified LGUP, the phone disconnects as soon as it resets to download mode and displays a static screen. The modified LGUP also detects my phone as LG-F800K.
I also noticed that my phone version has changed to F800K30h after unsuccessfully trying to follow the instructions in this post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...00l-k-s-korean-variants.3730879/post-86823617
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this issue? I have tried multiple methods, but none of them seem to work.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

If you were able to root a static screen at download mode is normal it should not affect download mode. The miss match model number is normal with LGUP. Select PARTITION DL and flash kdz all files. You may want to also try a different usb cable. Also you may want to uninstall the LG drivers and use this one. usb drivers

Thank you for taking the time to offer some advice.
I am currently on vacation and won't be able to try out your suggestions for a few weeks. However, when I get back, I will definitely give your recommendations a try.
Once again, thank you for your help and I'll be sure to let you know how it goes when I get the chance to try it out.
