[Q] Samsung Galaxy Core 2 SM-G355H SuperSU installation failed! - Samsung Galaxy Core 2 Questions & Answers

Hi! I have a new galaxy core 2 duos (about 1 month old). I decided to root the device using kinguser to cheat some games (its my first time to root a smartphone). I installed game killer and gamecih. The gemekiller said "root privilage needed" and the gamecih said something like "error root". I did some research and it seem to be that i need to use supersu. So i did installed supersu and updated it. The first update was successful. But after supersu granted gamekiller and gamecih, still the "root privilage needed" and "error root" appears. Now, without uninstalling supersu I installed superuser thinking that it might solve it. Supersu detected that there are two superuser and said something about uninstalling, so I tapped the uninstall key. Since I cant get gamekiller and gamecih to run, I decided to hard reset the device. After hard reset I reinstalled supersu and the problem occured "installation failed!" when updating it. I have tried a lot of solution from the internet and still no luck. I have tried installing using zip, using su bb, hard reset, full unroot kinguser, uninstall, reinstall, etc.
But I think I have a clue. When installing using zip, this message appears: "E:ERROR tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 255).
Please help, thanks!

You can't install the zip by stock recovery you need custom recoveries like CWM ,TWRP etc.

Hi,
Try CF Auto Root. Also as a note, this topic may lead into warez (because you mention Game Killer and Gamecih). It breaks XDA rules.

[ICS Dream FFusion]Help any apps dont install and restart my ROM

I started testing this ROM (FIXED ICS Fusion Final with Aroma + Kernel Compact V1.2.6). And something strange has happened. The ROM is rooted put the app Lucky Patcher v2.7.5 does not install, start and end the process restarts the phone without completing the installation. Titanium Backup already installed successfully (it requires root to install) but Lucky Patcher v2.7.5 does not install. I tried other versions without success.
I tried to install other apps that require root and also had no success. It's strange because it is the message that the app root permission received, but before completing the installation simply restarts.
The Chainfire 3D, Link2SD and Lucky Patcher v2.7.5 installed and did not like said above (message displays permission for root and begins installation but before finishing restarts and does not install). But Titanium Backup, Root Explorer and Terminal Emulator installed without error.
To be sure I tried all the possibilities through which I could do my little knowledge, I did upgrade to the latest ROM version (Version 1.6) and moved to its kernel (kernel is duos.tar end-devenloped for Hell_lock) and still keeps restarting the apps that quoted above.
I undid downloaded the package root and unroot the Millan.SIS through CWM and I ran the unroot, restarted, ran the root, rebooted, tried to install any of the applications I mentioned again and the system could not install before performing a reboot completion of installation.
I can not understand why some applications that require root and install other not. The worst is that just the Link2SD and more accurate than Lucky Patcher not install.

Thanks, tried but unsuccessfully, tried supersu, but also without success. I was enjoying the ROM, but I think I will have to try another.
I do need to wipe cache/data for re-installing a rom, and now all works fine.

Lost root after CWM backup

I currently have the 4.4.2 Google Play edition rom by Danvdh installed. I was performing a backup to flash the new 4.4.3 through CWM.
After the backup, there was a message that root may be lost and if I should fix it. I selected 'Yes'.
After the reboot, I no longer have root access. I have tried to re-root with motochopper and it continues to fail.
Can I restore a backup to regain my root? Or is there another way to regain my root access?
I tried searching for similar issues but could not find one that addressed my problem specifically.
Thanks in advance.
FIXED!!!
Not sure how or why, but SuperSu got messed up. Then I tried to open it, I was receiving an error that no binaries were found. I tried re-installing the apk without success. I then flashed the SuperSu zip in CWM recovery mode. Once it restarted, I was then able to open SuperSu and my root was back.

If you are using old CWM you would get the message saying "you root may be lost "and asking you to fix it before reboot. Never said "yes" to that questions. That will mess up your super su. If you read through the general section you could see some post about this.

Ahhh, thanks sway. I obviously did not find that section. I thought I had the latest CWM, but I guess I didn't. Time to update.

[Q] LG L Fino - SuperSU binary update failed

I recently got a new phone - LG L Fino (D290) - after some time I googled how to root it and found the PurpleDrake method. People said that it works and it saved their lives.
I tried it - PD said that everything was successful.. so I installed SuperSU and can't get it to update binaries, all I get is an alert that says "Installation failed"
There is no CWM nor TWRP recovery compatible with my phone.
Even after hard-resetting the phone I have the same trouble
Can anyone help?
I changed SuperSU to Superuser. When I try to update binaries on this one, it fails on downloading the manifest file.
Seriously, I need help...
Well firts of all sorry if my english is bad. I root the phone with purpledrake method and it was completely succesful. Then i went to Google Play and i downloaded this apphttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.supersu Open it, click in update, normal and thats all. You will have supersu and your phone rooted. (If you have reset the phone try to do the purpledrake method again and then download the app)
Im guessing this is a unique problem with your device. Try reflashing a stock KDZ and trying again.
Hi,
Sorry for the late reply. I found a really nice way to root the L FINO with no issues.
Get Kingo root app, It's an installer. It will install root and a SuperUser which is Kingo SuperUser or Something like that.
If you need screenshots, I'm here !

Help me with busybox?

Hi there guys and gals,
I just rooted my s5 running NK2 by Odining down to NCG, installing towel root and then Odining back up to NK2. I downloaded root checker which says I am rooted, I have downloaded es file Explorer and been able to write to SD, and I've downloaded TI backup and deleted all the Verizon bloatware on my stock samsung rom, but when I tried to install busybox, I get an error that reads "I am unable to verify if certain utilities this application needs to function are present and functioning on your device. This could be the result of a device being misrooted or a supersu error. Please try again".
I've tried rebooting the device,
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling busybox and haven't gotten any improvements.
Please let me know if you can help!

SuperSU error: SU Binaries occupied

SuperSU updated yesterday like normal, required updating binaries and I used TRWP. I updated the app with my Titanium Backup. Another app updated today but when I tried to back it up Titanium had lost root. Opened SuperSU and got SU Binaries occupied. Later today, I powered up again, SuperSU and Titanium both had new updates. I thought the problem was reported and fixed but it still does the same thing! :crying: Anybody??
EDIT: A known issue, https://forum.xda-developers.com/ap...6-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703/page165
I had the same problem as well after SuperSU binary update
SuperSU 2.82 no loger have ability to replace Kingoroot and now it says "SU Binaries occupied". Really Chainfire?
SuperSU 2.79 was the best version.

Got this error too after installing 2.82. What I did was to Reinstall ("Cleanup to reinstall from Google Play" option in Settings) and then installed the 2.79 apk I have as backup. Got a prompt that SU binaries needed to be updated and so I did. Update was successful and seemed to do the trick since I'm not receiving the error and still have root.

The last SuperSU version I had before updating to 2.82 was 2.79. I was lucky I turned off automatic updates because the next SuperSU versions after 2.79 were buggy based on reviews. I updated to 2.82 because I thought bugs were already ironed out. It was a bad decision because I started having "SU Binaries occupied" error popping up. I solved this by reinstalling the 2.79 apk I had as backup.
Maybe you updated from a different SuperSU version that's why it didn't work. Make sure that you reinstalled the SuperSU apk version you were using before you upgraded to 2.82.
I've been reading the reviews and the most common reply by support is to flash the SuperSU binaries that corresponds to version 2.82. You can try that. Visit the XDA thread of SuperSU for the flashable zip.
If all things fail with SuperSU, you can try phh's Superuser as an alternative.

Sorry, I'm not an expert with these kinds of things. However, you can try visiting the XDA thread of SuperSU and ask for help there.
And also, I'll stay away from Kingroot if I were you. Search for "Kingroot malware/adware" on XDA for more information.
You can try 'phh's Superuser' as an alternative. You can also ask help there.
Install SuperSU 2.65 and update binary, then reboot, and update from Play Store, then update binary again (using "normal" option).
