[India] Moto E 4G - E 2015 General

So , fianlly Moto E 2nd Generation 4G is going to be out on 13 april - Source
Moto E 2nd Generation 4G will have super development support , i think .. !

Moto e2 4G is good phone for those who have 4G in cities .

any idea if this will support XT1527 models or just the XT1524 int'l models?

The specs will be same .... but i will change the Smartphone from flipkart because of development only ... See moto e2 4g got twrp and kernel also .. Moto E 3g dont have any thing !

Any info about official CM/AOKP/PAC support?
Wanted to buy the motoe because it's smaller, but the moto G seems to have better dev support.

Moto G 4G is 11 months old. Moto E2 is 2 months old. Give it time.

Moto E v1 has Official CM12 and unofficial cm12.1
For moto E 2015 just wait a little bit (working on xt1524.)

My bad, Ev1 has PAC support.
It doesn't show up on the CM device page though.

Does 720p video recording work? Many sites say that only 480p works.

Moto G 2014 development

Are there any developers in here who are going to develop kernels for the New moto g (2. Gen) too? I think about getting one and give my little brother my moto g 1.gen, but if there is no good kernel i feel like the 1gen is better ..

[UPDATE] Android Lollipop coming to Moto E

There is no doubt that we all were waiting for the official announcement whether Moto E would experience Lollipop !
But from now, Motorola has officially announced it. It's time to celebrate and wait for its update :silly:
According to the official Motorola Blog:
Now that Android 5.0 Lollipop will be going to the world with Nexus 6—a product of some of our own engineering—we are excited to confirm that this latest and greatest Android release will also come to our other devices as part of our ongoing software strategy to provide fast updates to our pure Android experience.
While Google has not yet publicly released Android Lollipop, we are happy to confirm that the upgrade will come to:
Moto X (1st Gen. & 2nd Gen.)
Moto G (1st Gen. & 2nd Gen.)
Moto G with 4G LTE
Moto E
Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini
Cheers to all Moto E users :good:
Have a Smiling Day
Hit thanks, if helped :good:

Im sorry, but mods, this is pure speculation and nothing is solid proof here. Please close this useless thread. This is as if its a clickbait article. Dont let the forum go full retard.
Look! I can post useless speculative stuff too.

Thats a sad news
Did you even see the launch of moto g
At time of launch that guy( I think its Motorola CEO) said moto g would get updates for life time or until its hardware is no longer supported.....

6.0 for moto e

Great news: http://pocketnow.com/2015/10/02/motorola-marshmallow-updates
...
Is that sarcasm??? According to Motorola the Moto E 2015 will NOT be getting Marshmallow. Hopefully they change their minds or my daughter is gonna be upset.

of course it is, I'm mad as f... at first we have 5.0 that runs like crap, next there is still no 5.1 update in eu and now this....

I agree 100%. It's BS that Motorola won't update this phone. It is a 2015 model and only 7 or 8 months old. A good point was made in your link. All the Android One phones are supposed to get 6.0 per Google so I'm curious if Motorola will use Ram amount as the excuse.
edit... Well, I see that on the Android One site Google says... * UP TO 2 years* so I guess some Android One customers might be upset soon.
Buy Motorola they said...
Quick updates they said...
In the meantime we're stuck at 5.0 Lollipop

LOL. XT1524 did not get any update since release and no upadates after just 8 months on the market? This company is the worst phone manufakcurer ever. :/ If it is really true, Moto E 2015 was my first and the last Motorola.

it's not google's motorola anymore...
I've bought this phone because I though it will have support... at this price point I could have lg with some simmilar specs, maybe it won't have update but at least it has flashlight on the back
I know it is not Google's phone. Other manufacturers support their devices for at least a year or more.

I mean that when motorola was in the Google's hands every phone was updated but things has changed after lenovo bought moto
btw lmao my old galaxy tab 2 had more updates than this motorola (4.0>4.1>4.2)
I'm really upset. I have XT1524 European model and it only had a Wifi patch, it wasn't even an update. I only bought Motorola because of updates, if the list is not updated I'm never going to have Motorola again. There's a lot of cheaper and better alternatives.

As the title says, Motorola has officially announced which of its smartphones will be getting the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The list isn't small, but it does have some notable omissions, so here it is:
2015 Moto X Pure Edition (3rd gen)
2015 Moto X Style (3rd gen)
2015 Moto X Play
2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia2 (2nd gen)
2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE2 (2nd gen)
DROID Turbo
2014 Moto MAXX
2014 Moto Turbo

According to the blog, it is stated that these upgrades are not set in stone yet, and they may change the list of devices that will get the upgrade.
We can still hope.

Since the internals of the Moto G 2014 is very similar to the Moto G 2013, I am hoping that they might roll out 6.0 to our devices also.
Fingers crossed.
I think I'll just wait for the AOSP build from Alberto97.
Same here Buddy @moralesnery
The good news is that Google released the Nexus Android 6.0 images. The bad is that the AOSP isn't updated

some days will pass before wee see the release of the 6.0 code to AOSP.
Bad news, Motorola support page says this about the Moto G (2013)
MOTO G
This device will remain on Android 5.1 (Lollipop)
Do you have the latest Motorola software? Find out.
Shock horror, 2 year old hardware no longer getting updated... Long live custom ROMs.
Having owned a Desire HD and a Sensation which got only one major version upgrade, I'd say the 2013 G had a great run.
Sent from my XT1572 using Tapatalk
It's funny that the 2014 G is exactly the same hardware apart from the camera module and bigger screen (yet same resolution), and is getting the M update.
But yeah, there has to be a cutoff point somewhere even if it's the same product after all. 4.3 -> 4.4.2 -> 4.4.4 -> 5.0.2 -> 5.1, not bad at all! Alberto's AOSP will be excellent as usual.
Oh, well.
We can always count on a great dev to treat us crack-flashers and root junkies with some custom-ROM love.
Thanks XDA DEVs!
I dont think falcon will get it.

It seems that it will keep its outstanding status for quite some time as the entire Moto G series, including the 2013 releases, is reported eligible for an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

it this speech even come from Moto IT speak-person?
Don't believe anything unless you see it published in an Official Motorola account (G+,Twitter, Fb) or a serious tech Blog (or here in the news section).
Dont play with my heart
it is sad it wont get official 6.0 since android one phones will get it, also moto e, moto g 2014, etc
it is not about specs, it it just about age
but yes, compared to samsung, and other motorola did a good job, not perfect
i believe nexus 4 should get it too
Hey there Moto G Users! I'll be doing a custom Rom for the Moto G using Marshmallow and Lollipop... MarshPop is what it's going to be called... It maybe released as soon as I work all the bugs out of it... Expect it in the near future though! Since Marshmallow is basically Lollipop with Added features I maybe able to work all the issues out!
Cheers to all of the Developers! P.S. I've worked on the Transform Ultra from Samsung!
Thanks for Participation in reading!
