Information about thea variants - Moto G 2014 LTE General

Hey, me & @luca020400 will try to bring up CM12/12.1 support to this device but we need your help.
As we won't have every thea variant we will need from you:
- Copy of /system/build.prop
- Result of "getprop ro.boot.radio" from adb shell or app like Terminal Emulator

Hi, the result for "getprop ro.boot.radio" is "0xC". build.prop is attached. Model of my phone is XT1078, Android 5.0.2.

Are you sure it's 0xC? It sounds pretty weird for me since every other moto G (2013, 2013 4G, 2014 3G) variant had 0x[1-9].

Do you know if there are "root" for this XT1078 version? I tried using the KingoRoot but did not succeed. Inform know if there is any CM's version of this model? Have a great day!

Lol , this version is available in most of Europe and UK now, I think the XDA forum is misleading calling it the moto g 2015, I think it should be called moto g 2nd gen 4g, I didn't even know the forum existed , I was looking in the moto g 2014 forum for 4g related stuff lol. Anyway I rooted by flashing twrp for titan, it seems to work well.

Could you send some pictures of your ROM here? Could you provide as which SuperSU file used to "root"? I blocked my phone and forgot the unlock password, I had to format the "hard reset" and I ended up realizing that the phone comes with a type of CWM, or am I wrong? For there where I used the restoration had "wipe cache, wipe factory, from SD card update" There are various options like CWM ...
sorry my english... have a nice day!

Chainfires latest supersu file is the one I used, that was the stock Motorola recovery all android devices come with it but I only allows you go flash official Motorola updates , I flashed the official twrp file for titan and it worked fine , I am on the stock Moto uk rom for Thea.

Hello LuK1337,
I own a XT1072, but I'm not a developer (only an engineer with basic android knowledges) so there are two possibilities to help you :
- If you orientate me to some advanced tutos or "howto" guides, I can grab some skills to propose commits to adapt CM12/12.1 to the thea devices (it could take at least two month)
- I'll not need my phone during May, I might send it to you an get it back at the beginning of June. It'll takes less time but you have to do it yourself

That's funny, because I've been running the test port of CM12.1 you gave me without an issue for longer than a week now
I'm yet to find a mistake/clue about what is wrong with CM12.1 on XT1072

s/coming/after we get devices xD/g

XT1079 bought in China
build.prop attached and the command gives: 0xD
Also, I run my 64GB Samsung MicroSD with no problems so far. Now I am not sure what SD support up to a certain GB size means, i.e. if it just shows me the 64GB but I can actually only use 32, but so far it seems to work.
Thanks for getting us CM support guys! :highfive:

[REF] The weird XWJV1 Gingerbread build.prop and alternatives

I have been investigating several build.prop settings for the leaked XWJV1 beta Gingerbread since it has been leaked, trying to enhance the performance of the firmware and here what I found out so far:
1. build.prop contains lines that is not related to the firmware it self or it's files, in the same time the same function requests 2 files to do the same.
2. build.prop disables functions that should be enabled, these functions have always been enabled on previous 2.2 and 2.2.1 firmwares.
3. build.prop contains lines that has only been used on HTC devices, such as Desire and Nexus One.
4. Bigger heap for dalvik VM.

Conclusion:
There have been to much copy and paste in the XWJV1 build.prop file from HTC Desire or Nexus One build.prop files, it's clear that the guy/team that have included this build.prop file in XWJV1 did not work on a Galaxy S device before, and more than that, they did not even check the default build.prop file that Samsung used to use on Galaxy S firmwares.
Just to clarify in a more specific way, the lines in (2) are used to be disabled on HTC devices such as Desire and Nexus One, because the devices will produce bad sound quality when streaming AAC media files. Beside that, lines in (1, 3) are related to Nexus one.

What I use now on XWJV1 that is installed on my device is a mix between XWJS7 and XWJV1 build.prop files, I have also added a few lines to reduce power consumed by WiFi, and enhancing GPS on the device. This is what I think that the files be, but any new ideas are welcome.
My build.prop file for XWJV1:

If you want to try these then just edit your build.prop and any default.prop files using a Note++ and copy to your /system partition as superuser. If you need to try the files that I use then download them from the link below.
Change log:
11-3-2011:
- media.stagefright.enable-player=true in build.prop is changed to false to enable AVI playback. Thanks to jassired
- XDA member MCOGW PM'ed me regarding the lines ro.build.date=(wrong date format)( Samsung date formats are usually as in the lines of XWJS7 are like yyyy. mm. dd. (Korean-sign) hh:mm:ss KST) and ro.product.board=herring along with another line that awaits confirmation. Thnaks MCOGW
12-3-2011:
# Samsung USB default mode

Is a correct setting, kies cannot connect to the device without it, the attached file is updated.

Thanks Ramad. It's weird: GB was first seen on Nexus S (samsung product) that is so similar to SGS. Where did these lines come from? Has any HTC device got 2.3.x so far?

I think, as I wrote in the post that the guy(s) who made the build.prop file did copy many lines from other places, or he/they is/are only familiar with HTC devices (new worker(s) maybe..), the bottom line is that I think that the build.prop file should be different. Making a bigger heap for dalvik virtual-machine will not make it lag less but more, because of more garbage-collection operations. The device do work fine now with 32MB as heap, but I have increased it to 48MB since I did want to share it and since it's 48MB that Samsung used to use on previous firmwares.
I also noticed the heapsize growing and I suppose it wasn't intentional. I wonder if anybody knows what the dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y means?
please add this to build.prop for a nice boost. Are we sure this didn't work in JS5? (never heard of it now)
dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit

Had to set media.stagefright.enable-player=true to false inorder to have AVI playback support with your Build.prop

I have read many places, this so far the one that is easiest to understand: http://www.netmite.com/android/mydroid/2.0/dalvik/docs/embedded-vm-control.html it does not mention m and y modes and I could not find the meaning of these modes anywhere yet.
I did could not see any difference with or without the line 'dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit' this is why I did not add it ,it appears to me that it's enabled as a default setting.

Confirmed...I have just tested it and AVI(Divx) does indeed work when the line changed to 'false', Quadrant score will suck, but who cares , we need the device to work properly.

It has been mentioned before in the XWJV1 thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11860843&highlight=build+prop#post11860843
Anyway, I thought again about the HTC (are they really?) lines. The only way that this is possible is if the code was written by NON Samsung employees. And this leads me to another conclusion: maybe Google writes the code for Samsung. Google demonstrates the last version of Android on a top selling company's model (HTC, Samsung etc) and then sells it to the manufacturer. And they are used to HTC models....
Anyway, just speculating....

I did not read the thread you mentioned for a long time now and don't know how far they have reached, but jassired were the first to mention the line change here.
You could be very much right about the Google coding thing, but Samsung did add several other directories, drivers and applications, they should at least check the double lines and other lines(like the line that had Swype disabled) to see if the device is working as it should using these lines.
Just as an example, I'm not using 64MB or 48MB as heap-cache but 32MB and I feel that the firmware is even better than before, not perfect, as I think that the firmware needs to be optimized further. I have to mention here that I use the deodexed version of this beta.

[4.2.2][rom][dump][n900aucuamg2_fajp][mega]

I think these files could are important for possible development or unlocking the bootloader, even if they cannot be flashed to a device. I have mirrored them on MEGA, for anyone having trouble downloading from Baidu. I don't think the original thread should have been closed.
I will be looking into these files a bit myself. I will likely post the build.prop when I get to it.
I will not provide instructions on how to flash this for obvious reasons.
Please try not to flame, I'm just trying to help.
Thanks and credit to @RomDump for original files.

I zipped it up nicely. I think this in fact an engineering build of 4.2.2 from July. @ryanbg says it cant be flashed, but I'm wondering what would happen if some brave brave soul, were to direct write via dd if=, of= all paritions in recovery for example. ( make a backup first of course ).
I think this dump is helpful even if it just for having a 4.2.2 bootloader to research and investigate.
This wont work, 4.2.2 is old and you cant downgrade to it.

Oh yes i forgot. Oops. BTW it works on Stock based ROMs coz i tried it and it worked. But in CM/AOSP ROMs, wifi blobs and ril blobs are compiled from sources, so that wouldn't be a problem.
I wasn't expecting to see this update for our beloved Xperia Z so fast. Can't wait to see the newer version in custom ROM versions, I'm very excited.
Working fine so far... no noticeable bug

Almost... The only thing is sometimes after you restart it doesn't detect sim card but it works after another restart..
Never had that sim problem.

It's 99% pure AOSP, no customizations like in CM, you can use Xposed.
It's rock stable, im running 502 because 5.1 does not support Xposed...yet and i need RootCloak.
I've used 4.4 and 5.x.x, all i can say again..rock stable, with 5.0.2 i have 22-23h usage, with stock i have 19h max(sync on, LTE blablabla)

What’s new in 3.0.0-0:
Completely new theme - Much more modern and much nicer looking (by z31s1g)
True Terminal Emulator - Includes arrow keys, tab and tab completion, etc. (by _that)
Language translation - It won’t be perfect and especially some languages that require large font files like Chinese & Japanese won’t be availble on most devices. Also some languages may only be partially translated at this time. Feel free to submit more translations to OmniROM’s Gerrit. (mostly by Dees_Troy)
Flashing of sparse images - On select devices you will be able to flash some parts of factory images via the TWRP GUI (by HashBang173)
Adopted storage support for select devices - TWRP can now decrypt adopted storage partitions from Marshmallow
Reworked graphics to bring us more up to date with AOSP - includes support for adf and drm graphics (by Dees_Troy)
SuperSU prompt will no longer display if a Marshmallow ROM is installed
Update exfat, exfat fuse, dosfstools (by mdmower)
Update AOSP base to 6.0
A huge laundry list of other minor fixes and tweaks

Ask here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2334554
Remember to mention it's a FOTA kernel, as in, it resides in the recovery partition. NOT a regular kernel (it does not go on boot, but if you do put it on boot it will boot - only problem is, that is now the only thing it will boot, no system, no rom, just TWRP).
I haven't used the program so I don't know anything about it. But go to the linked thread, they'll know.

That's how I did it.
I have flashed this recovery using fastboot methot. But when I enter to recovery, my old recovery is still present and no TWRP 3.0.0. Why? And how can I solve this? Thank you

Most likely because your kernels ramdisk doesn't contain:
Code:
if [ -n "$POWRKEYCHECK" ]
then
#load FOTA ramdisk
busybox mknod -m 600 ${BOOTREC_FOTA_NODE}
busybox mount -o remount,rw /
extract_elf_ramdisk -i ${BOOTREC_FOTA} -o /sbin/ramdisk-recovery.cpio -t / -c
if [ $? -eq 255 ]; then
# Try again!
busybox echo 'Unable to extract FOTAKernel ramdisk! Retrying...' >>boot.txt
extract_elf_ramdisk -i ${BOOTREC_FOTA} -o /sbin/ramdisk-recovery.cpio -t / -d
busybox mv /sbin/ramdisk-recovery.cpio /sbin/ramdisk-recovery.cpio.lzma
busybox lzma -d /sbin/ramdisk-recovery.cpio.lzma
fi
load_image=/sbin/ramdisk-recovery.cpio
busybox echo 'Selected FOTA recovery' >>boot.txt
fi
In other words: this isn't a recovery that goes with the regular kernel, this is a recovery that goes on the recovery partition.
Ok, can you please give me the stock Lollipop kernel? Because now i`m , indeed, on a custom kernel. But, I would like to go back to the stock kernel with this recovery. Thank you!

Urrrr... I'm sure someone can point you in the right direction. I use CoCores kernel right now (for KitKat) with my own ramdisk.
@Verbato
Does this Recovery support decrypting official CM 12.1 nightlies for Amami?
I flashed from Flahr, and worked perfectly. Also no bug at, the SD card reading part.
Huge thanks !!

According to the comments on the xda-announcement of TWRP 3.0.0-0, there is user who claims CM12.1 leads to a boot loop.
http://www.xda-developers.com/twrp-3-0-0-has-arrived/
So I don't think so. But that's odd, since TWRP 3.0.0-0 is built using CM12.1 sources. But I didn't build it, so don't blame me. I just edited the default.prop to make this work on our phones.

No, no bootloop for me. (At least without encryption) Everything works quite well.
So I guess I'm going to be the one that has to test if it works
Maybe I will have time this evening, but lets see.
In case it doesn’t, will you be able to fix bugs or is that beyond your skills?
Flashed through fastboot.
Working like a charm :highfive:
Tested it with RR, and seems good. No troubles I can sense.

Thank you for the honor of being asked to do so. Very much appriciated!
But no, sorry. I have too many personal projects, and everything I code right now seem to just barely work.
Roxxor is right though, the differences between Honami and Amami are minimal. Smaller screen (320dpi) and... Hmmm... Well, no 32GB versions.
So bugs that pops up for Amami should pop up for Honami as well. Also the same the other way round. That's why I could just edit the default.prop and it worked. And yes, I changed it to kitkat, since I use kitkat (gives me more power or rather, battery lasts longer). But that's it, that's all I had to change to make it work.

Skills... Errrr... What skills?
No, I have too many balls flying around, too many things I'm involved in. And fixing bugs... Really really out of my range right now.

Phone Tweaks

So I'm trying to put together a tweaks magisk module and would like some input on some of the most popular or must have ones for stock oreo/p.
These are the ones I'm currently using on stock.
settings put secure sysui_qqs_count 8 (increases tiles in qs header)
lockscreen.rot_override=true (lock screen rotation)
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I like the ability to rotate in all directions without a third party app or the slight hassle of editing the build.prop
Long press power button on screen off to toggle flashlight?

Umm...
Does setting DNS without iptables actually take?
Fast Dormancy shouldn't be a thing in the US...
Do we actually support audio offload in the kernel?
Why do you have to force wifi calling in the build.prop?

No idea on a few of those, the dns ones do work, everything flies..not sure about FD, i read both sides on fast dormancy so figured it couldn't hurt to try. And from what i have seen, yes audio offload is inbuilt. And the wifi calling thing must be already on that build prop from the benzo gsi .i wouldnt add that...i had the gsi running smooth and without issues. Then i found a new ab gsi called supersucc and it flashes ok but gets stuck before setup starts with a launcher crash..and now after restoring my backup i have lag with apps.. im gunna fresh install but the edits i did do on this, geez there was so many here and there i cant really remember... but they were all from either havoc, nitrogen pie, or op6 hydrogen. And whatever else i thought would be good added to this.
In other news, anyone figure out how to make magisk root work on a gsi and still have data and wifi??
