No u can't just basically upgrade your phone the Samsung upgrading servers have to upload the update

Not exactly, but I can imagine that Samsung will skip the 4.4.4 update and directly go to 5.0

You can update the official release from Samsung Kies 3 software which you can get from the samsung website but be aware that there are issues with 5.0 and everyone on the official release is waiting for 5.1.1.

I'm on 4.2 do I need to be on lollipop to get the 6.0 update? I just got the lollipop update downloaded but I don't want to install it cuz it sucks.
