Everything works except for receiving SMS. Help? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the AT&T G2, rooted and Unlocked. Currently running kitkat via Cloudy G2 2.2 and have TWRP. I bought the phone to use with BYO Wireless, a prepaid company and all went well. I stuck the SIM in and activated it; there wasn't a problem. Until I realized that I couldn't receive any texts! I can call and be called, can send SMS and MMS, and data is fine as far as I can tell. The one, consistent problem over every ROM I've tried including reverting to stock is the lack of SMS on the receiving side.
I read online to try and put it in another GSM phone but the only one I could find said "Invalid SIM", it was an old Blackberry.
I've already tried taking it out and powering the phone down for a while, which only solved the issue where the SIM wasn't detected.

Can't receive texts, but can send

When I flashed over to Haykuro 6.0, I can no longer receive texts, I can only send them.
Is there some APN's I am missing? I only have one APN on my phone now and it's called "T-Mobile US"
I'm sorry if the answer is simple but I'm stuck.
And I don't have a way to update with 6.01 right now if that fixes it.

How long have you been using the SIM card that you currently have?
My issue was that I had been using the same card for 6+ yrs. Went to the store, had them give me a new one and my problems were solved.
I've only had this SIM card for about 2 years... and I could send and receive texts easily before, but now I can't receive them... Is there a way to install all of the T-Mobile APNS?
Sometimes this is just a glitch in how a ROM will read the SIM. As with the previous poster, I too got a new SIM and then everything was fine. I have not it happen with a Android ROM, but when switching between phones (HTC, Nokia, iPhone knockoffs, etc) some would work some would not. After I got a new SIM every phone worked. Could it be a ROM issue, maybe. Could it be a SIM issue, maybe. Could it be a combo, maybe. Try flashing to a different ROM and see if that works. If not, go to a TMo store and get a new card. If you get a cool rep you may walk out with a free one - just don't tell them you have a modded ROM. Worst case I think they are $25.

Blu R1 HD on TMobile. nice phone for the price, but not receiving text messages.

this is a strange one. I'm able to send out messages through phone, but will not receive them. I have tested sending and receiving from 3 different phones and none I do not receive any. I tried setting up an alternate APN, but did not help at all.
any thoughts?

no thoughts, just reporting same issue
I've had weird problems on T-Mobile on other phones that caused picture messages / group chat messages to not be received. It ended up Hangouts was the problem and when I used the default Messaging app it worked. Also, I found that Textra works. Maybe try that?
os update fixed all issues, ymmv.
Same thing happened to my phone: I flashed it to remove all the ads, and it's also rooted. Put SIM card in it, I could send messages and receive and make calls.
Solved it by taking SIM card out, putting it in my iPhone. I received the missing messages, then I just put the SIM card back in the Blu R1 HD. And then it started working. Weird? I know.
Note: I was using a Nano to Micro SIM adapter so idk if that was the issue since I reset it a couple of times
SMS worked fine for me on a fresh SIM from T-Mobile.
If you were using iMessage before, you need to deregister your phone number from iMessage.

Phone not sending SMS

Hello everyone. I come for some guidance. My mother's Phone won't send any SMS at all since last June. No changes have been done to the device. It's completely stock as day one, no root, no bootloader unlocked, nothing. Running Android 6.0.1.
Device worked fine, she took it with her on a trip to visit family in Florida, USA (we live in Venezuela), used no sim card there only WiFi and since she came back the device won't send any SMS, receives them just fine, won't send any.
Do you have any suggestions on how to make it work?
Thanks in advance.
Enable roaming option in the settings.
Look it may worked.
Format? Worked for me awhile back
still the same
Hey guys, tried both options (well... did not reflash, just factory reset the device) still the same. SMS won't be send, yet are received just fine. Any other ideas?
Did you try to bring it to a carrier yet, they might be able to help you. Mabey another sim card? I'm not Shure what problem is, sim is in, its been put back to factory settings. I don't know. I wish I could help you.

Calls are constantly dropped with Ting on my S5 G900V (locked bootloaders)

I never tested the phone out when I first got it, but I checked to see if it was unlocked by putting in a new sim card. Seemed to be unlocked. I did the "root" method on here to flash back to an older OS which worked for what I needed it to do. But ever since I got the phone, calls are constantly missed (I can use another phone to call this mobile and the mobile won't ring, it'll go to voicemail), my calls are constantly dropped, I rarely can call out, if I am able to call out the other person might not be able to hear me. The only thing that works well is the texting. I use Ting as my provider and have spoken to them many times because the original problem was that I couldn't access my voicemail and it kept giving me a mmi error. They gave me the voicemail number to directly call which I've been doing to get around the error of using the built in voicemail system. They've stated verizon phones aren't the most compatible with their system and they suggested maybe the sim card isn't functioning properly. I've spoken with their customer service at least four times over the last 8 months but these problem never really went away.
Anyone have any idea what I can do? I need a reliable phone now for phone calls. Should I try flashing back to stock 6.0? Or do you think it has nothing to do with what I did to get the "root" on it? This is the guide I followed:

Page Plus not receiving texts

I have a TMO-branded phone, flashed international quite awhile back. Finally did a SIM unlock & went with Page Plus for the second SIM, so I would be on Verizon in the sketchy TMO coverage around me. Spent over 1 1/2 hours on the phone yesterday trying to get the SIM to activate, then they threw in the towel, said I needed to activate on a Verizon-branded phone. So I had my son drop by, got the SIM activated on his phone. Phone calls work fine on my OP6T, sending texts works fine, but I can't receive any. After over an hour plus on the phone, they gave up on me & said I'd have to switch to a Verizon branded phone to receive texts. Anyone else had this problem?
Note: all the test texts I had sent showed up on my son's phone once the SIM activated.

Yeah, I asked them about APN editing, they said that only affected MMS & data. In any case, they're greyed out, even if I try to add a new one. I've tried every which way searching google to find a way to get around that, but have had no luck.
