Curious anyone else downgrading? - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 General

Just out of curiosity if anyone else is downgrading back to 4.4.4. I honestly miss having Xposed Frameworks, I know its a matter of time but not being able to use some of the features is super annoying. I know at the moment there is no workaround for the Touchwiz framework issues and Xposed on 5.0, but if you are sticking with android L how are you dealing with not having Xposed? My biggest issue is with not being able to change DPI on an app basis and not the whole UI. Please feel free to comment on why you like Kitkat or Lollipop, thanks

Never upgraded to begin with, never will until Xposed for Lollipop on touchwiz comes out. Xposed is just too useful.

I too am a dirty girl when it comes to my love of Xposed. I stayed off of LP until today. I installed CM12 5.0.02 and on NK2 today and wasn't stopping until I got everything right. Now I have Xposed and most of my mods, which is great because touch wiz runs with horrible lag, takes up a lot of Ram and what have you. I can live without every touch wiz feature but Xposed is a must!

Lollipop and no problems here.

I was on lollipop for almost a month. The benefits of 5.0 did not make up for the hit on battery life. Back to KitKat & xposed (w/greenify & amplify). I will probably try tx_dbs_tx's rom when it is completed, but I'm thinking some 5.1 is what we really need.

How did you guys downgrade? By only flashing the modem, etc and staying on 4.4.4 bootloader? I tried ODIN 4.4.4 .tar but i messed up n took the update stock unrooted

I also was on LP since its release, to me it did feel smoother battery life was about the same but i just went back to nk2 yesterday and plan to also stay untill xposed is working on LP.

Got a new Note 4 last week.. did not root, let it upgrade to latest 5.0, then chainfire autoroot, install rashr, flash twrp, then install whatever you want. I am using xnote 4.4, exposed important to me as well. Really like the ael kernel as well, get it off their forum.

How can you downgrade? I Odin to lollipop, can I Odin back to 4.

[Q] Is there a way to root MK2 yet?

Like the title says. Also if there is, what ROMs would work. Because I remember that when I was rooted on MF3 that not all ROMs worked with it. Sorry if it's a stupid question. I appreciate all helpful and/or useful answers!

Yes, you can root. Take a look at this thread.

Very easy.
No ROMs at this point because safestrap doesn't work with MK2.
Think so? Hmmmm. Wonder how I'm on mk2 running darthstalker X 4.3 then?

@DevilDog512 I stand corrected. What did you have to do to get that working?
Safestrap 3.70 in the android development section. Have only flashed this rom so far but have 0 issues. There's a kernelmodules.zip in that thread too that you flash just like you've been doing on 3.65. Can't adjust the system partition size but I don't use more than rom slot 1 anyway so no big deal to me. I'm sure it'll be fixed when it becomes official. Maybe today or tomorrow, but it's damn close to being ready.

You flash a kernel through recovery (not stock recovery) either cwm or safestrap.

Read up on the forums or you'll be using Odin all right. I would not flash any 4.3 roms if you don't know what you're doing. Use Xposed with wanam till safe strap can be perfected.

I just used Odin today. I'm on mk2 but I installed safestrap 3.70 and had darthstalker but decided I didn't really like it much.. Installed the modules and went back to stock ROM but it felt like my 4g download speeds were slow less than 1mb. So I odin the mf3 recovery files than side loaded back to mk2 because I tried factory resetting and 4g wasn't working that good.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using xda premium
I used the update.zip in Stock recovery to go from mf3 to mk2. Not sure how that'll work out if i screw something up. I have the mf3 stock tar files and hash has said he has mk2 tars. I figure there's enough out there to get me back up. I tried flashing every ge rom i could find to no avail. Apparently it's pretty hit or miss right now. I read that they may have found a way to flash some custom kernels on mf3. The same day i upgrade. Hopefully they can get that sorted out and we can pretend like we own our $500 phones.

S6 Edge cleanest 5.1.1 Stock rom g925f? De-bloated?

Hello, hopefully I'm posting in the right place.
Basically I'm looking for a rom which is as close to stock as possible just without any bloatware at all, I basically want stock but without any pre-installed apps (ok with samsung stock apps s planner clock messaging ect)
My phone is currently on 6.0.1 sixperience rooted but that still has some koreans thing in there that annoy me so I'd rather go back to 5.1.1.
Would be great if someone could point me to one like this and hopefully a tutorial too as I'm very new. Thanks for your help.

That one looks good thanks, It says stock but debloated and a few nice tweaks, I'm currently on 6.0.1 sixperience with custom recovery, is it just a case of putting the rom onto my phone storage going into the recovery and doing a full wipe then flashing the rom? I would I be better off going back to 5.1.1 stock?

Yeah I'm currently on 6.0.1 Sixperience which is a korean port, I only really got there as I followed a tutorial on youtube that was step by step didn't really know what I was doing. The sixperience Rom is fast and debloated but it still has some korean elements which annoy me so I wanted to go to a 5.1.1 rom that was debloated and fast, I'm not sure what I have to do to get it now as I've flashed a bootloader and stuff, I was thinking I could just go back to stock 5.1.1 and go from there, hopefully flashing to stock will get rid of any bootloader I installed. Any idea on how to get from 6.0.1 to the xerolite one?

You can root by installing TWRP using ODIN.
Updated my phone (which is not on Sprint Network as I live outside US) and must say, I'm quite impressed. There are no noticible UI changes but the system feels more snappier than before. I guess the Doze settings have been worked too because of which battery life has improved a tad bit.
Anyone know what Sprint meant by "Resolution to lock screen production issue"?

Hot-spot mods of previous builds will not work. If you want, you can use pdanet or FoxiFi for it (no need of a rooted phone).
For Xposed, you can flash the zip available on XDA but you will require root for it.
PG1 source code isnt out, so developers will be behind still.

Not sure my phone can live though an update to Nougat. It took 6 months before Google fixed the random reboots on MM (PG1 was the first really stable ROM). PH1 runs fine, just keep the security updates coming a while longer.

No. You have to be on the official unrooted and completely unmodified stock rom with stock recovery for it to work.
Can someone upload this?
Where did you get hotspot mod from? I didn't find any PG1 hotspot mod. I am running PG1 stock debloated rom by saintz.

The battery life on this particular update is horrible. PG1 was the best update till date by Samsung on Marshmallow.
For guys on PG1, my suggestion would be not to update to PH4.
Also, PG1 has the best signal reception & voice quality.

You most likely would have to wipe your data. Usually you can't downgrade between versions, especially major versions (7>6). Both smart switch and oden will wipe data.

You most likely would have to wipe your data. Usually you can't downgrade between versions, especially major versions (7>6). Both smart switch and oden will wipe data.

Howdy All,
Just upgraded from Marshmallow to Nougat and I lost my ability to use FoxFi. Unfortunately my wife and I rely on it for our at-home Wi-Fi. Now, I am an EXTREME newb, when it comes through this stuff, but my question is how can I go about downgrading from nougat back to marshmallow without losing all my data, and if that's not possible, how can I back it up and then later restore it to the phone. I need someone to walk me through this step by step and hold my hand like I'm a toddler. Here's a little info.
·Verizon Unlimited Data Plan
·Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ SM-G928V
