Gallery not working because of force fast scroll - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I installed force fast scroll on my galaxy s4 sph-l720 triforce rom (rooted) and now my app gallery does not load. I have installed quick pic for now. But when I get a pic from a friend in a text I can not click onto it to view it larger. Can an help me get my gallery working agian or make it possible for quick pic to open pictures in messaging? I have cleared data and cache in settings for gallery, rebooted phone, took battery out and then back in, uninstalled force fast scroll, and nothing has helped yet. Besides re-installing my rom can i uninstall gallery and re-install it somehow?
Thank you, Randy

Click to collapse
Go to Settings > Accounts and sync and disable syncing Picasa.
That should solve it.
didnt solve!!
Then install SGS Tools from Lestat's Thread and download Modded Gallery from the App.
install Quickpic from market and use it instead of the stock gallery app.
as for removing it from the Battery Use menu, just restart your phone.
cheers

use task manager and in the setting option choose auto kill, and download quick pic from the android market..i use the same thing
Replace Gallery with QuickPic.
Install quick pick from market, and next unistall Gallery with Root Uninstaller
I experience the same problem since the froyo update. As long as I don't start the Gallery after a restart, battery consuming is normal and the gallery does not show up in the battery graphs. But as soon as I use the gallery once, it starts draining my battery.
Through the Accu history (see Any Cut -> Activity -> Accu history) I found out that the Gallery uses the sensors excesively. I guess the Gallery is not properly stopped and keeps on using the accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate. So the more you wiggle your phone, the more the Gallery reads the sensors, the faster your battery drains.

[Q] Hiding Gallery Preview Bar

I have been trying to find a way to get rid of the preview bar in the stock gallery app. My friend (he has a GS3) is able to get rid of it and go into fullscreen mode just by tapping on the screen, but I am not able to do this. My preview bar doesn't go away no matter what I do. I've tried alternative gallery apps, but I would prefer to just be able to use the stock app.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it? I've done pretty much everything shy of re-flashing the stock ROM (I'm running stock ROM).

You should be able to do the same. One tap and the bars go away. Perhaps try clearing the data/cache for Gallery by going to settings > more > application manager > scroll to the right to all apps > find gallery > clear data and cache

Have tried that before, just tried it again. Still nothing. I guess I'll have to do a reinstall of the stock OS. Thanks for trying to help!

[Q] Note 3 stock gallery super slow/freeze?

Loving my Note 3, but for some strange reason, when I go to gallery and pick a picture, all the images stay where they are, but you can see in the background that it transitions to a different UI. I would have to hit back and reselect the image, or click settings >> Select Items and then it will finally display the images from the selected folder.
I don't want to have to use a different gallery, but wondering if others experienced this?
Yes, it does that.
Only for me it just gives "Gallery has stopped working". Or "[app] has stopped working" if I open it through another app, like Whatsapp(Which is horribly annoying as Whatsapp has recently ditched the option to select another gallery app.) and Stock Camera.
I just stick to Quickpic whenever I can.

i found them a lot better than the samsung one.
Thanks, you guys! I found something called FishGallery or something like that. UI is ugly, but it has some neat features.

[Q] Google Chrome issue after 4.4.2 update

Hey guys
This is something new! Never seen it before! Anywhere!
After 4.4.2 update, my google chrome is having a problem.
I think the screen shot below is clear!
"Sooo, i cant upload pictures with my tab using chrome!!! This is another issue i guess!!!
The screen shot is a black screen, with a new tab icon only on top, whitch is not working, nothing else. Not a chrome logo in the midle, nothing"
It happens every time i run chrome, i have to end the app, (i have a commad for it in gmd gesture control)
Then remove it from recent apps then run it again to maks it work.
I unistalled all of its updates, cleared apps cash and data. Reinstalled updates, none helped.
In 4.2.2, when i opened the app, it used to show my favorites and i could open a new tab, or open my fav tabs.
Can anyone help?
Any suggestions?

Help. Weird Gallery behavior (SM-G530H)

Hi guys, I have a SM-G530H on the September 2014 KitKat build number G530HXXU1ANII
It is rooted. Everything seems fine but for one thing.
Take for example I'm on Whatsapp and have to send a picture saved on my phone to someone , or change my DP, I select Gallery. It opens up the Gallery. As soon as I click on any picture it takes me back to the homescreen.
I reopen Whatsapp and it straightaway takes me to picture select screen and now selection from Gallery works normally.
This happens while uploading to any other app (Fb on browser, XDA) from Gallery. It opens the Gallery for picture selection, I click on a chosen picture and it takes me to homescreen and I have to restart entire process again. It is very annoying. Please help. Thank you
Try to clean the cache of the gallery settings>apps manager> all apps and search for the gallery app and clean it
Didn't work brother
Sent from my SM-G530H
Hi, I don't know if it will help you, but I've experimented gallery issues with another device and I solved it downloading another gallery app from G Play end froze (eg: with Titanium - needs root) the stock gallery.
Updating to latest firmware solved it
