[VIDEO][GUIDE]Moto X - How to unlock Bootloader? - X 2014 General

This is the video guide on How to unlock Bootloader - Moto X.
Unlocking bootloader is important before doing any changes to your system - like rooting, intstalling custom roms or restoring the device to the previous android version.
Without unlocking bootloader, you won't be able to do these things.
I made a video for better understanding this process.
NOTE :- Make sure you enabled USB debugging before going through with this process & backup your data as this process will format your device.
INSTRUCTIONS :-
1)First of all go to this Motorola's official link - https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
2)Download & install Motorola USB Drivers - https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481
3)Download & install Minimal ADB Drivers - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1S0LCuXCnnmOWhnUk1ZWVdQakE/view
4)Go to the Motorola's Page,Click Next & Sign up with your Motorola ID or with your Google Account.
5) Now put your phone into fastboot mode by holding the "power + volume down" key for 5 seconds.
6)Now open ADB from your desktop & Type these commands
Code:
fastboot oem get_unlock_data
Now it will return a String like this one -
Code:
$ fastboot oem get_unlock_data
(bootloader) 0A40040192024205#4C4D3556313230
(bootloader) 30373731363031303332323239#BD00
(bootloader) 8A672BA4746C2CE02328A2AC0C39F95
(bootloader) 1A3E5#1F53280002000000000000000
(bootloader) 0000000
7)Copy this string without any blankspaces included or any bootloader text & paste it over the field - Can my device be unlocked? and Down there tick "I AGREE" & REQUEST UNLOCK KEY.
8)Now they will email you your unlock key.
9)After getting unlock key, again open ADB & type this code and paste your UNLOCK CODE at the place of UNLOCK_CODE_HERE.
Code:
fastboot oem unlock UNLOCK_CODE_HERE
.
10)Now your phone will bootup and have a warning saying "You Bootloader Is Unlocked".
Congrats You have successfully unlocked your Bootloader and you can now successfully move onto other things like rooting or installing custom roms etc.If i really helped please SHARE this video & SUBSCRIBE as a THANK YOU.

Open does not mean unlocked. Open means you have root access. Unlock means you can access the recovery partition and flash anything you want with a custom recovery.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/meizu-mx/development/recovery-twrp-bl-unlock-m3-note-t3684052 See the tutorial
With G version (6.3.0.0G), lk does not have fastboot unlock cmd. I had disassembled 6.1.3.3G lk to check and confirmed. Instead, A version does have it because of nougut port (Ie, 6.3.0.2A fw).
I knew it because tried today. I rooted and run global.sh then install A version fw on my G version phone. The drawback is fastboot USB is no longer working. So winxp PC USB connections to m3note fail. Lucky the phone still working.
So if somebody told you G version can unlock bootloader, then you have to pay attention. I assumed you less likely got the A version phone but a G version instead. If you are lucky with A version, you can have a try. FYI the above disassembled A version of lk does have below cmd:
oem p2u
oem reboot-recovery
oem unlock
oem lock
oem key
oem lks
flashing unlock
flashing lock
flashing get_unlock_ability
Many more....
Regards.
