[Q] LG offcial update after Back to stock - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys!
I hope you can help me, After trying to install the official LG G2 ROM 5.0 bassed on the korean model (with twrp) I had a hard brick.
Had quite a hard time trying to get my phone back to life, finally was able to go back to stock with lg flash tool. I downloaded the TOT file for EUR INT.
Kernel: 3.4.0
Compilation: JDQ39B
Software: D80210b-214-07
Now the phone is working perfect but I´m back to 4.2.2 which sucks as I was trying to get to 5.01 :cyclops:
I can´t update with LG PC suit as it won´t recognise my phone, and the update sofware app in the phone says I have the latest software available....
I´ve been checking and it turns out that the correct orignial software for my phone was the version D802 V20B.
Can it be that the reason that I can´t update the software from LG, or is not possible to do this after flashing a custom rom and back to "stock"??
Thanks guys for your help!

Are you expecting to get an OTA update to LP? Lollipop hasn't even been released yet for the International variant.
If you're trying to get back to KK just use a site like LG Firmware ROM to download a KDZ file based on your IMEI and flash it with the LG Flash Tool. If you have a D802 you don't need to bother with using TOT files. Using the site I mentioned should download you the latest KK released for your phone.
Note: Just wait a few months for Lollipop, honestly.

Thanks for the fast reply! No I just want KK
iI do that will I be able to get the official lollipop from Lg pc suit or is there no going back?
I suppose I'd better do a fresh install? Or will it be ok just to install on top so I wont lose all the apps etc again?
Thanks !

Once Lollipop is released officially then yes, you will be able to update to it via the suite or over the air.
I'm not quite sure of the context of your other 2nd question.
Note: It's nice to hit the "thanks" button if you are thankful of a reply. Saying thank you and not hitting the thanks button is like a slap in the face .

In the second question I ment, would you recomend normal flash or CSE?

Try Normal Flash first to keep your data. Sometimes Normal Flash will constantly fail. In that case, do a Full Wipe/Fresh Install (CSE).
NOTE: BACKUP YOUR DATA/PICTURES/MUSIC BEFORE DOING ANYTHING, IN THE CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.

in the guide he is saying he isnt sure it will work for 4.0.3 versions and this is my version :S any way to upgrade to 4.0.4 ?
Okey these guides will work for you.
The first guide will update your base firmware to V20A_Rooted it will update your 4.0.3 to 4.1.2, and will get you a unlocked bootloader and cwm installed.
After you installed the V20A base firmware you go to the Second guide.
That guide will install Android 4.1.2 CLEAN and with no keyboard errors, its all working fine and i am using it to.

thank you too much but one last question if anything went wrong can i return my phone to the way before i updated it with this guide or there is no way to install again official firmware ?
If you want to keep your files you will need to copy them to your pc.
Use Titaniumbackup to update apps.
You can backup your contacts/music etc to your External sdcard.
And if there is something going wrong and you want to go back there are unbrick guides enough i will help you if anything will go wrong. But i did everything and its working very good.
If you need any help ask me.
Edit: List of all firmwares: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=12 this list contains all versions, so if anything is going wrong with v20a its easy to go back to V10L ore V10A/V10B

[Q] Which baseband for LG Optimus L7 (P705)?

Hi Everyone,
I would like to flash a V20 baseband on my Australian P705 as I'd like to upgrade soon to one of the custom JB 4.3.
I am currently on Slimbean 4.1.2 with baseband V10e.
I don't want to brick my phone or have any issue with it by flashing the wrong baseband on it so could someone please advise which V20 baseband would be the one to use on my phone from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335273
Also, I was wondering if I flash a V20 baseband, could I go back to V10 if needed?
Thank you for your help!
And sorry, I would have posted the question on the thread above but I am a new member and restricted in the thread I can post in!
Anyone would have an idea? I just really don't want to use all signal!
Thanks!
I risked myself to install V20e baseband.
I had signal from my phone provider but in "About Phone", in the Baseband line I had "RRO" so not sure why or what it means.
I also installed Slimbean 4.3 which didn't seem really stable and I lost root privileges in the process and couldn't find a way to root a LG L7 using JB 4.3 so I went back on baseband V10 and Slimbean 4.1.2 until we get a more stable JB 4.3.
I'll keep you up to date if I find a working solution.

Yeah I knew that, it's just between JB 4.1 and JB 4.3, we need to upgrade the baseband from V10 to V20 and there are plenty of V10 versions and plenty of V20 versions with different letters (e.g. V20a, V20e,...) and I wasn't sure whether I could use any of them without any trouble or not.
I tried V20e temporarily on JB 4.3, I could still get signal from my phone provider but the baseband didn't seem to be properly recognized in "About Phone".

Hey mate, any luck with this? I'm in the same boat as you, except I haven't tried any of the various v20's yet... I'm on v10e also, so logic says I should upgrade to v20e - but there even two of these - one says "PL" and the other for "GBR"... I'm with Vodafone AU and have no idea... I don't want to brick and am a little worried :/

Hey mate,
I think I upgraded for V20a but I can't remember. Baseband is just showing RRO in About Phone but it's working with Optus in Australia and overseas.
I remember I had to upgrade the Baseband first before upgrading Android otherwise it didn't work!
I am also using Slimbean 4.3 Beta 5.2.
It's working OK.
To be honest, don't bother, it's not worth it playing with custom ROMs!
At least not for the L7!
Battery life is even worse than out of the box (even with Greenify), features from newer versions of Android don't work because this phone is not compatible with them (I'm thinking of Photosphere which was the main reason I wanted to upgrade)
In my opinion it's just a waste of time! I'll try a custom ROM of KitKat when stable but if it just keeps getting worse on my L7, I'm just gonna go back to stock!

Thanks. I ended up trying the v20e (both of them) with Prime KitKat rom. I installed all this before I read your reply and all is good - except for the network reception. I'll go back and try the v20a now. This phone isn't my daily driver, just a mess about so I'm keen to try KitKat out on it while I wait for OTA on my Note 3. So far, other than the current mobile data issue, this Prime 4.4.2 rom seems pretty good Thanks again

Samsung S5 - Lollipop - can i downgrade back to KitKat

Hi Guys,
I stupidly got excited and installed the official Lollipop (S5 on THREE UK network) update when i was notified.
BUT...
I want to go back to KitKat as i preferred it (i wont go into reasons why)
Is there a downgrade path for me, either officially or unofficially?> I dont think there is at the moment.
Thanks guys!
Yep, this forum is literally packed with instructions on how to do it, a simple search will bring up what you need
hi thanks, i thought with the new protected bootloader i didnt think it possible.
this is what i read:
Note: The G900FXXU1BNL9 Android 5.0 Lollipop update comes with a protected bootloader it is clearly emphasize that the “SE for Android Status – Enforcing” that might cause issues when you try to downgrade to the old software updates. This also applies if you are planning into rooting and installs any custom recovery and any unsigned firmware once you are on Android 5.0 Lollipop , so please be aware with that.

Yesterday I tried out AllianceROM 6.0 and a few hours ago I went back to 4.4.2 'cause I liked it better than Lollipop. Here's what I did :
1. Enter Download Mode and flash STOCK 4.4.2 KitKat firmware in Odin (I used 3.10.6) and let it start booting.
2. It won't boot, this is normal (I panicked when this happened though ).
3. Go to recovery and factory reset/wipe data your phone.
4. Now hit reboot in recovery and your phone will boot up again (YAY :sun.
5. OPTIONAL : If you've made a nandroid backup before going to 5.0 you can now flash TWRP and restore it over your STOCK 4.4.2 KitKat firmware.
Hope I helped Let me know if it works out for you!
SUCCESS!!!
All sorted.
The hardest part was finding a link to the rom. sammobile kept giving me a gateway 502 error.
im now back to kitkat, AND no THREE UK rubbish.

[FIX] Problems after trying to update to Lollipop

Hello,
I was trying to update my LG G2 to Lollipop using German official release available since yesterday. The problem I'm having is that the firmware update mode goes to x % then I can see red text "Assert" in the second line and then phone restarts and shows 0% and doing nothing. LGFlashTool2014 is showing message that something went wrong (or similar) and I can try again. It's happening all the time - over and over - sometimes it's 30%, sometimes 60%. I was trying to back to KitKat using LG Mobile Support Tool - same situation. When I'm trying to restart my phone, it's restarting to download mode all the time :/
Please help
@edit
Ok, after about 4 hours I fixed it using TOT method (version D80210b for Europe). So if there's a problem with KDZ method, maybe anyone knows when - or if - it will be Lollipop version for TOT method?
@edit2
So - after I bring my G2 to life using TOT method and older KitKat I thought I could try with Lollipop again. And now it works! Good morning to Lollipop! So I hope it might be helpful for others with similar problems
What I did exactly?
1. Trying to install Lollipop using KDZ method and something was going wrong all the time - keep restarting to download mode.
2. Performed hard reset.
3. Fixed problems by installing downgrade using TOT method.
4. Installed Lollipop using same file I was trying to use before and I chose Normal Flash method.
5. Good morning to Lollipop!
Hi im in the same situation,,, have you downloaded one of these http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/D802+tot/ using TOT method? which image have you used for lollipop? you can pm me if u want thx @edit have you used KDZ method to upgrade to lollipop? ty
I used LGD802AT-V10b-EUR-XX-SEP-07-2013-16G.exe (sorry, can't add links because I don't have 10+ posts ) For Lollipop I used KDZ method with official LG G2 image for Germany 16GB version

Hi, really thanks for the support. Now I have LP F320L30D, i flashed it with KDZ guide. If i would go back to Kitkat (when it was when i bought it) what should i do? A simply flash with KDZ file like i did for LP? If so do i need to root + twrp before the kitkat installation for a fresh install rom by cleaning cache, dalvik etc or is enough to click CSE install by KDZ program?

If you want to go back to kitkat stock, just kdz back to it. No need to root or clean any cache. Just use the tool , download the kdz file and flash it via tool.

I asked that, because i have a problem about the mic during calls. I mean if i call or someone call me, the person does not hear me or hear my voce really really really low. Should be a software issues. I disabled "ok google" but nothing.

Are you having this particular issue on lollipop stock or all the rom your tried?
If its software issue, you can switch a rom and see if it gets resolved.

I had this issues like 4 days after i updated via OTA the Kitkat version that was stock (21Y) for another Kitkat version (22k) if i remember well. To be honest, dunno if this could be the problem. I though (hey, maybe this OTA ****ed me) so i changed the rom into 30D stock with KDZ method so i installed Lollipop. Now i choose to come back to Kitkat Stock maybe i can fix this. By the way in the xda server there are located 3x firmware for my model (F320L) so korean model
F320L21V_00
Korea LG U+ Kitkat F320L21P
LG u+ F320L11G
Which one should i take? In the original was called U+ 100% LTE.
If so then take the second one that says U+ and its a korean variant.
Honestly i dont own this variant so i know little much about these since i haven't performed any flash. I only own verizon hence i mostly help people based on successfully performing those actions by myself. I don't like to give you any directions without actually performing it irl so you choose which one is for your variant.
And if you ever want to go back to stock , just flash kdz. That would be all.
Good luck!
