[Q] Yun OS ACB - YU Yureka Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I decided to adb backup my phone, since CM12 update is expected tomorrow (26Mar2015). When I connected my phone to my computer it shows up as Yun OS ACB. I thought Cyanogenmod uses regular Android and ADB and not a Chinese rip off. Any Ideas as to what could be behind this?
This is the procedure I followed
1. Disabled the driver signature on Win 8.1
2. Installed Universal ADB & Fastboot drivers
3. Enabled developer options, ADB and advanced reboot options
4. Connected to PC

[Q] MTP Mode Problem

After trying to Sideload the 4.4 Update onto my Wifi Nexus 7 (2012) I'm unable to connect to my Computer in MTP Mode & can only connect in PTP Mode which is far more limited than MTP Mode. I did a Factory Reset & updated to 4.4 OTA, but I'm now still unable to connect in MTP Mode, when I use MTP Mode I get a Google Nexus 7 ADB Interface in Device Manager with Manufacturer ID of ClockworkMod has anyone got any clues how to get MTP Mode working?
P.S. I'm unrooted and have no idea how the ClockworkMod ADB Driver got installed and haven't got a clue how to permanently remove it.

Look in your PC's Control Panel - do you see Portable Devices (it's most likely missing or not showing up)
Folks over at Nexus 5 (I owned both devices) are running into similar problems - long story short, it's corrupted and/or missing usb devices drivers. Simplistic solution, use the computer (assuming you are running Windows 7 or Vista and not Linux) SYSTEM RESTORE feature & roll back to last few days, it should be a successful effort & then reboot. Reconnect your device, let it sit & recognize the device, install drivers, etc. - do this with USB debugging OFF first, and when it is done - enable USB debugging, let it finish.
Now, reboot PC again to be sure, and connect. usb cable again - give it 3 to 5 seconds, your Auto Play should be popping up with prompt to open folders/files, etc.
Check your CP again, you should now see Portable Devices part of the hardware, and Google Nexus 4 (yes, that's what is on mine)
Let me know if this solution works for you - the alternative is to uninstall all usb drivers, reboot, install, etc. etc. Please post your results if you choose to follow this dummy's approach, thanks.

Bought a second hand Nexus 10 with wifi problem - can't setup nexus

Hi all,
I bought a second hand Nexus 10 tablet.
After i did a recovery (via hold down power + vol-up&vol-down i choose recovery and then wiped everything etc. all went oke) the Nexus 10 went to the setup screen.
There it stuck after the first step (select language) on "turning on wifi"... it doesn't turn on the wifi !
Now i can't set it up... any help?
I downloaded NRT tool, i thought i can root it and then disable this step completely.. but i have to enable "usb debugging mode" for this on my Nexus... and i can't access that option too, because it stuck at wifi setup!!
Can i root/disable the wifi setup... i.e. via Odin or something like that without adb or usb debugging on (because i can't access that)?
Any help/tips guys?
TiA!
Or I was wondering this...
Maybe someone can make a ready to use image for me without the need to make an initial setup?
Would that help? Because I wont be using the wifi anyways!
And the following question to that image/backup from someone:
can i flash such a backup/image from the recovery menu without the need of usb debugging?
Just delete the initial setup apk (asop and gapps) using TWRP and it will boot straight to the launcher.
Another option is a USB to Ethernet adaptor (Apple one works).
Thanks PainToad! Do you have any link to that USB ethernet adapter/or an exact name if links are not allowed here? TiA!
BTW:
This is what i did to solve it. A quick manual for the ones stuck with this problem too:
-first get your adb drivers RIGHTLY installed. This is were i got stuck! Because i didn;t install these drivers correctly, i couldn't get adb working thus can't unlock and root it.
So if you are on a x64 windows system you will have to enable test-signing (google it or try this in elevated cmd mode (admin) : bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON ) before you can install the adb usb-drivers! Don't make my mistake...
-after that get a root tool (NRT) or just use fastboot with cmd yourself
-first unlock bootloader!
-then flash TWRP v3.0
-flash a custom ROM zip from TWRP (Slimrom or CM will do) >> after succesful flash you won't be asked for wifi setup!
-buy a usb to ethernet adapter as PainToad says and you must be able to use it without wifi... (this step not tested yet, as i have to order one yet! )

CM 12.1 on Note 3: Usb is now disconnected

Hi to everyone, I'm having bad time finding a solution to my problem, but for now nothing helped me.
I've CM 12.1 installed on my Note 3. Since I installed it to my phone, I've never be able to connect my phone to the computer.
When I click on settings-->storage-->usb computer connection, it says:
"USB is now disconnected".
This doesn't allow me to set the usb connection, and so my pc doesn't recognize my phone.
On my pc, it says: "Unknown device, code 43" (looks like it doesn't have drivers).
I've tried everything:
1) different cable, pc, usb connected directly to main board;
2) reboot phone;
3) all the steps about enabling and disabling developer option:
**********************************************************************************************
To see the USB computer connection options:
1. Developer>Disable USB debugging.
2. Reboot.
3. Connect to PC.
4. Settings>Storage, press the overflow button (three dots).
If that does not do it, then:
1. Disable developer options.
2. Reboot.
3. Connect to PC.
4. Settings>Storage, press the overflow button (three dots).
5. Re enable developer options. (About Phone>Build Number-6x)
**********************************************************************************************
But, apparently, nothing changed.
I want to solve this situation becasue I need to install stock firmware now.
Another problem is that I've tryed to install twrp recovery (using flashify), but this made my phone go in recovery bootloop, and so now, It seems I can't access no custom recovery.
If there is no solution to the problem above, at least help me to install the right twrp recovery (if compatible with cyanogen mod 12.1), so I can try a stock firmware flashing using it.
Thanks for answering, hope someone can help me.
Note: I've installed 12.1-20151120-NIGHTLY-hlte version, and, if I search update it says that there are some updates, but I cannot upgrade my system.
Have you installed the drivers on the PC ??
Usb cable is damaged or lack of driver on PC.

Windows 10 won't Recognize my Phone in Fastboot Mode but ADB Is working

Hey Guys,
i tried to Root my Moto E4 but Unfortunally i cant get Fastboot to work under Windows 10 Home 64 Bit on Both my Notebook and my PC. I installed The Motorola Device Manager (Since it comes with drivers) and installed ADB and Fastboot but once i Reboot into Fastboot Mode it wont Recognize it for flashing. The CMD Just Says Waiting for Device. I have expierience with Rooting other Phones but i never had this much Trouble getting Fastboot to work properly. Would be awesome if u could show me a Solution to this since i really want a Custom Rom.

There's no trick, it just works. I have Windows 10 64 bit as well and no issues. Maybe you need to update your platform tools (adb and fastboot). Using old ones can be a problem.
What command are you issuing? Just fastboot devices ?
Make sure you're not using a USB 3.0 port on your computer.

Few other thoughts:
- try a different cable; a cable that works for charging and adb communication may not work with fastboot
- avoid external hubs if possible
- be sure to reboot both devices after switching drivers if communication isn't immediately established

When you say you booted to fastboot what do you mean ?
Did use adb and your phone was recognized and then you issued adb command or what method are you using ....
You need to ensure you establish USB debugging connection first & grant authorization ...once link with authorization has been established run adb ...from adb check if recognized run command to boot to fastboot
So start from the top && go down
ARE YOU CERTAIN YOU USED CORRECT METHOD TO TURN OFF DRIVER VERIFICATION ON WINDOWS 10 && YOUR DRIVER ACTUALLY INSTALLED
Last noteworthy point ... when unlocking my motoE4 I had to boot to bootloader ONLY to use fastboot NOT "FASTBOOT"
Hold power + volume button
Excellent troubleshooting from our community. OP has not come back yet to confirm, ask another question, or simply a thanks. (Maybe he got it) Hopefully he gets it sorted.

When you authorize your adb connection do you tick or select always allow connections from this device ...the fact that your device is listed as *unauthorised* is a clear indication in your previous attempts you didn't authorize to "allways allow connections" from this device
#result _when you reboot authorization is revoked
Enter bootloader mode the old skool way using your buttons..
# MAKE SURE TO SELECT "ALLOW OEM UNLOCK OPTION IN DEVELOPS settings
1.AUTHORIZE TO "ALWAYS ALLOW CONNECTIONS FROM THIS DEVICE"
2.enter bootloader using hardware keys
3.plug in usb
4.run fastboot devices to force fastboot to start deamon ...
5.once fastboot can see your device run oem unlock
6.DO NOT USE USB 3 port so try different USB ports on pc
7. Alternatively use a live USB of Ubuntu minimal to do the job
--- doesn't seem like driver problem if adb can see your device
See if that works

I did all of that. Next Problem when i boot the device with Vol Down + Power and select meta mode. I will get only the Motorola Logo or a Normal Reboot into System. I set everything up in Developer Settings. Enabled Debugging and Allow Bootloader Unlock.

Why select meta mode ? When you are in bootloader you use your volume keys to navigate between meta, recovery& factory reset & meta and you use your power key to select different modes ...what do you want to do in meta mode ?
When you are in bootloader you are essentially in fastboot mode too so it isn't necessary to choose any of the other options unless you are trying to get into recovery which is pointless if you haven't flashed custom recovery yet ..
I Succeded. I Booted into Bootloader with ADB and took a look at Device Manager to install the Driver Properly.
i followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e4/how-to/guide-unlock-moto-e4-bootloader-unique-t3654275.
Thank you for all of your Replys.

Download manually and flash inside recovery yourself
Safety net says the response is invalid does that affect ny device being rooted

No it doesn't. That's an error in magisk manager when you hide the manager app itself. Just use a different safetynet checker app if you want to check safetynet.

ADB phone access via Windows 10 (broken screen)

Unfortunately I broke the screen of my beloved 6P today and have spent the last 8 hours trying to figure out how to recover everything from it. It's still working as I can hear notifications and phone calls but the screen is blank.
After searching everywhere (xda, stackoverflow etc.), I'm a bit stuck and was wondering if anyone can help. Here's my plan/what I know:
1) I want to emulate the phone screen on my PC via USB using Android Control
2) I need USB debugging mode to access the phone via ADB
3) I need the correct (Google) USB drivers installed on my PC to access ADB
I have downloaded several tools/drivers and this is how far I got:
1) Windows sees/recognizes the phone under Devices and in Device Manager (as It does normally) - I am unable to access the phone because it's not in file transfer mode
2) When I run adb devices, the list is empty
3) I tried to update the driver to the latest Google USB driver but Windows 10 won't let me (windows has determined the best drivers etc. etc.)
I can't be sure what is blocking access via ADB. I'm sure I enabled USB debugging when I first got the phone but it was a long time ago. I read that I might need to disable Windows Driver Signing to install the latest Google driver but I haven't tried it yet.
My question is, how can I tell if it's USB debugging or the Driver? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
If you have your bootloader open, then this should be easy. You can install (if not already installed) TWRP recovery with "fastboot flash recovery file.img". When you then boot blindly into the recovery (its always the same amount of button presses in bootloader) then you can access the storage of your phone.
Other cheap solution: Get a phone with bootloop issue and use that screen from it. Then you have again a fully working phone.
