[Q] Will OTA update work if device is encrypted - Spice Dream Uno

I am yet to receive Lollipop OTA update on my Spice Uno. However my device is encrypted. Will this cause any problem during update?

No, it won't cause any problem.

Update after root

Hi all!
About 2 months ago I rooted my Arc S using Zergrush. Today I got a notification there's a new system update. I'm guessing I shouldn't update. Am I right?

You can do it via OTA if you have a locked bootloader and remain root.

I can confirm that... Did OTA for My Missus's Xperia Mini and My daughters Xperia pro.. both updated fine.. and both still rooted.
How do I know if I have a locked bootloader?

Yours is locked when you ask that question
Did you unlock it?

I think that if you had removed system files like removing bloatwares your phone will not be rooted after you update . However backup your stuff , update through you mobile update center (found in your mobile) , if not rooted downgrade again .

No OTA update is available.
But you still can update by downloading the firmware, and flash it using Odin.
You will also still be able to do official updates using Samsung Kies and connecting your phone to your pc

OTA's on ROM's typically don't work unless the ROM maker implements their own OTA system like Cyanogenmod. So no. Wait for the official thread to update with it.

Cool thanks will do. Any way to get rid of the notification, it keeps popping up.

Don't do it. Please. Don't you see how many people regret these updates? After yelling about it, now they are prisoners of these stupid updates.

you can simply use the OTA updates if it's unrooted
and if you're rooted you can flash bootloader + modem + rom and be done :good:
