The iPhone 6 is not a phablet
I have both the Note 4 & iPhone 6+
I use both about the same and change which is my daily driver every few days.
Hardware wise they are very different, but really that hasn't made much difference to me in my day to day use of either device as I tend to use the exact same apps on both devices.
Screenwise :- I honestly can't say I can see a difference between the 1080p screen v the 2k screen. Both just look like great screens - though the iPhones does get brighter and is easier to see in outside daylight. The Note 4's gets dimmer and more comfortable at nighttime.
Speakers :- the iPhone 6+ speaker is clearer than the Note 4's which can sound a little tinny and distorted at full volume.
Camera :- main cameras outside of megapixel differences are able to capture very similar results with neither being much better than the other. 1080p recording on iPhone 6+ does benefit with much better OIS over the Note 4 - however Note 4's 4k recording is some of the best 4k quality I've seen on a smartphone and clearly iPhone can't do that.
Removable storage and battery are nice to have but aren't deal breakers for me.
Note 4 main benefits are mainly the S-Pen features for me. I can doodle / etch a picture on the fly. I can scribble down notes quickly.
The customisability is too its strength.
IPhone 6+ strength is its software consistency and fluidity.
People will tell you that Note 4 is better at multitasking and iPhone 6+ is terrible because of less ram and yet on current lollipop builds I find it's the iPhone 6+ that handles multitasking better despite 3x less ram.
On KitKat they are similar in my daily experience but with a nudge to the Note 4.
Here's my Lollipop experience. Notice the Note 4 has to refresh app content in many applications and the iPhone 6+ doesn't despite less ram. Most of these were Google apps that I use every day.
Battery wise they are similar too but with nudge this time going to iPhone 6+
IPhone 6 version is poor battery wise compared to either.
Overall I think both a great handsets and a person will be served greatly by either (or both as I am).....
Buy in confidence whichever you choose.

Sorry my mistake, I thought you were talking about rear camera, I'm dyslexic.

I think it depends on what and how you use your smart phone...
I have moved thru many phones. And always went back to the note series.
My reasons:
Big screen - really struggle with anything smaller than 5.5 inch
S-pen - love the note taking and has been massively improved for handwriting recognition in the note 4 compared to previous notes
Camera - i have used and compared with S5, iPhone 6 and 6+, LG g3, lumia 930 and HTC m8 and I gotta say I BELIEVE it's the best overall.
SD slot and usb on the go - i have 2 64gb cards and 3 32gb SanDisk usb/micro on the go sticks and they are used for work, movies and docs.
Removable battery - i am a very heavy user - monthly usage - 100gb mobile data, 1000 emails, 3000 txt/whatsapp, 40hrs calls average, I use thru out the day 2 full batteries lasting a combined of 17hrs approx (in retrospect iPhone 6+ lasts me 6/7hrs)
Thats me... Everyone is very different but for me Note series wins everytime
For reference these are phones I've used in last 24months in no order:
Note 3, Note 4, galaxy s4, galaxy s5, LG g3, HTC m8, HTC m7, lumia 930, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6+, xperia ultra

I'm 110% sure that the front camera on the iPhone 6 Plus isn't even comparable with the front camera on the Note 4.
Not only is the front camera on the Note 4 much better in camera quality over the iPhone 6 Plus, but the front camera on the Note 4 even record videos in higher resolution than the main camera on the iPhone 6 Plus does. That alone tells us how much iPhone 6 / 6 Plus is behind the competition.
The front camera on the Note 4 can record videos in 1440p with pretty good quality. Here you have one video that is recorded with the front camera on the Note 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZakP0hjWT3g
And don't get me started on how bad the main camera on the iPhone 6 Plus is compared to the Note 4's main camera. Yes, the iPhone 6 Plus camera is still good, but the Note 4's main camera is in it's own league there and it's much much better when it comes to provinding details in the pictures.

If you just looks at the pictures as you see them, then you might not see much differences. But once you start to see the pictures in full size, you will right away see that the camera on the iPhone 6 Plus can't keep up with the Note 4.
Here is a picture taken with the iPhone 6 Plus.
Now, here is the same picture taken with the Note 4.
Now take a look at the signs on the roof in those 2 pictures. Do you see the text there on the picture the iPhone 6 Plus have taken?
On the picture the Note 4 have taken, you can easily see the text there. On the iPhone 6 Plus picture, it's almost impossible to see the text there.
Here is a 100% crop of the iPhone 6 Plus picture.
Here is the 100% crop picture to the Note 4.
Again, the iPhone 6 Plus can't even be comparable to the Note 4 as the iPhone 6 Plus camera lacks the details in the pictures.
EDIT: Just to make my point evne stronger: http://www.phonearena.com/news/Gala...ts-a-Canon-DSLR-and-the-iPhone-6-Plus_id66093
The iPhone 6 Plus got crushed by the Note 4 in that blind camera test.

Irritating question designed to bring all kinds of trollish responses. Since you have gone ahead and asked anyway. I chose both. I like both platforms and both these phones bring something unique in their own way. I prefer the note 4 for its camera for daylight and the iPhone 6 for lowlight and its consistency.
You cannot go wrong with either.

No more northerly on Kerry coast that than the three sisters which are Ballydavid (Dingle Peninsula) direction. This would be closer to Kerry Head

Well, I like Apple ecosystem but Note 4 Super AMOLED screen is a deal breaker for me. I read a lot of manga (black and white japanese comics) on a phone and I say black looks more vivid on a Super AMOLED screen. I study japanese too so the ability to draw chinese letters (kanji) with a Spen is also great. I also have the liberty to just run Nintendo DS japanese kanji learning and drawing games with a stylus... Without having to carry the extra Nintendo DS weight... Thats impossible on a iPhone 6 Plus.

I really love the floating windows option.
Other than that, huge screen, spen, sflip cover, removable battery and expendable memory.
Kind regards, Stefan.

My only real needs are an EXCELLENT camera that's great in low light and a high resale value.

Hello, what kind of answer would you expect in the s4 forum, I suppose the same as what you would get in an iphone forum
If you want an excellent camera that's great in low light you actually need a full-frame dslr camera.
With regards to the resale value you would probably be better off with the iphone, you know how people go bonkers about it and forget that there are about a dozen or so manufacturers who offer the same or better products in terms of design and usability. You could also consider the HTC one and the upcoming LG G2. If you are happy with a 4'' screen you can get an entry level phone which would get the job done just fine or go for something second hand like the htc sensation. It is a good phone for a fraction of the money. Make sure that you have considered all your options.
My assumption is that by galaxy nexus 4 you mean s4 google edition, hope this helps

Well let's see battery management in ios is better than android . What i also like about apple is that they have one universal version of their devices whether the iphone / ipad . I also like the fact that they keep on updating their product - they are starting to software cripple some features though - while Samsung is failing in this domain .i guess only the nexus line up in the android world provides fast updates , i'm on 4.3 on the nexus 7 while still on 4.2 with the s4 .
Concerning the camera i did notice a superior picture quality using the new ipad versus the samsung camera app . But when i switched to the Google edition camera found on this forum , i can say that they are on par with each other , so probably and hopefully this is a software issue which could be work out in later development cycles .
it's simple ios gives the best and easiest out of the box user experience , but this is why you cannot say let's compare android & ios while disregarding the power of tweaking / moding /roming the android has . Being a control freak apple loses this edge to any rooted android device which owner is willing to spend some time customizing .

S4 have an amazing camera, you can rely on the picture quality, video stabilization is amazing. The best are the camera modes which are really fun to use.

Photo by iPhone 5 (They didn't put 5s yet so...) have that typical noisy picture and like a universal unwanted warm filtered photo.
S4 seems to have good details and have a natural color.

So i suppose that's what you need is a camera that can make calls ... so the iphone is for you i think ... why troubling yourself with customisability and functionality an android handset can give you when you don't need it
S4 vs iphone 5s
i've used iphone 3gs, 4 & 4s..
nothing to proud of iphone, even already jailbreak hundred times. Not user friendly, less processor power, itunes such disturbing software ever, rich of apps but useless...
To me iphone out of date gadgets and for sure out of class compared with my S4..
Here's a 5s camera link I read today.
http://gizmodo.com/iphone-5s-camera-battle-a-stand-up-camera-that-doesnt-1357856416
Both the 5s and s4 use sony stacked sensors but the 5s pixels is so much bigger.
S4 vs iphone 5s
Hundred iphone can't beat any android device audio sound..especially on S4 when running poweramp or htc One with beats + 93db output..
Just to clarify what I meant by a better battery management you could take a look to this thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452023
But let s not detract from the original op question I will sum my original opinion by that each device has its advantages I like Android for the community open source modding and roms and apple for the reasons I stated before

I've put my galaxy s4 on craigslist for trade for an iPhone 5. as a former apple user and this being my second android phone I've ever owned, I could never get rid of my gs4 even with good offers on the table. Being stock non-rooted I have done way more I can possibly imagine on this phone than an iPhone would be cabaple of ever doing. Sure I would love some features that the iPhone has on this phone and a better frame on this phone instead of it being plastic plus the iPhone headphones are way better in my opinion but I guess its sacrifices from apple sueing the piss out of Samsung again. Even though the resell value of the gs4 isnt as good as the iPhone, its more of a user experience. Safe to say the galaxy s4 overcomes the iPhone.

As a former Note II user I think you're out of your mind.
Here's text from both.
N2
N3
Here's a detailed review from DisplayMate who makes the equipment all OEMs that use displays in their products use to test them.
The Galaxy Note 3 has the newest generation of OLED display technology. The Lab tests show that it is better than the Note II in every measurement category, and also comparable or better than the display on the Galaxy S4. It has double the resolution of the Note II, which is a major improvement, but the most impressive advancement for the Note 3 is its significantly brighter screen, which hits an incredible 660 cd/m2 in high ambient light, the brightest mobile display we have ever tested in the Shoot-Out series. An impressive achievement for OLEDs!
OLEDs need to continue improving their power efficiency, which is critically important for mobile displays. We measured an impressive 26 percent improvement in power efficiency between the Galaxy Note 3 and Note II. While LCDs remain more power efficient for images with mostly white content (like text screens, for example), OLEDs are more efficient for darker content because they are emissive rather than transmissive like LCDs. In fact, Galaxy Note 3 is already 31 percent more power efficient than the Full HD LCD Smartphones we recently tested for mixed image content (that includes photos and videos, for example) with a 50 percent Average Picture Level, APL. If this keeps up then OLEDs may pull ahead of LCDs in total power efficiency in the near future…

Dude is dumb. Girlfriend has the iphone and I have note 3 coming from note 2. Firstly compared to note 2 it's like comparing ps3 to Sega Genesis. The crystal clarity of the 3 awws even iphone users. I have the iPhone 6+ and Note 4 around; I've used the Nexus 6 camera for an hour (indoors only). From what I used it is slower and not as well balanced than the iPhone 6+ camera. Note 4 was just as fast as the Nexus 6, maybe a bit faster.
Both the iPhone 6+ and Note 4 have far, far better software for the camera app and thus they both take far better photos (for a smartphone) compared to the Nexus 6. In low-light the Nexus 6 performs like a Galaxy Nexus (which I've used often) compared with the iPhone 6+ and Note 4. There are many tests which show how bad the Nexus 6 is in low light, especially without flash.
From my limited experience it was ok but noticeable worse than the iPhone 6+ and Note 4. If you were testing all three together in a store, you would see the difference.
Potentially if someone creates a new camera app with far better software in the app - puts it for sale on the PlayStore (so you don't need a rooted phone to use it) - the Nexus 6 camera could be much better. As it is the stock camera app post-processing software is terrible compared to other flagships. The current cameras on the PlayStore (that I've used) do not get the best out of the N6 camera either.
From what I know the camera hardware in the N6 is comparable to the Note 4 so theoretically it can match the photo quality of the Note 4 in all conditions. The software though is not comparable.

Great thanks for the confirmation on the sensors; then the Nexus 6 will never compete with the Note 4 or iPhone 6+ on the camera front, it will always be a step behind. When they said 'premium, no compromises' I think they were joking. I honestly expected it to at least match the Note 4 with camera tech for the price. Worse screen I expected, but not the camera tech.
The Nexus 6 is essentially a Note 3 with a faster processor (but you probably wouldn't notice due to the encryption) and stock Android. Ideally should be priced like a Note 3 then...
I was at the LA Auto Show yesterday. Here are some pics I took.

I had note 4 for a week and it lag like hell everything seems slow motion compare to nexus 6 thats the reason I sold note 4 on the front facing camera it could compete with iPhone 6 plus but not with note 4 cause it has 3.7mp wide angle lens.

Moving from Note 4

Has anyone switched from Note 4 to S6E? I have Note 4 and I love it. The main concern is that after Note display might me too small.

Will be leaving my beloved Note 4 behind for a 64 or 128gb S6E. Although, I'll just get the Note 5 when that comes out.

Same here. We're all pathetic addicts!
I will be leaving the Note 4 behind as well. I thought i would love the Note but after seeing and playing with the S6 Edge i changed my mind! I wont miss the screen size or the Spen.
Love my Note 4 but have the S6 Edge on order, waiting for it to be delivered. I LOVE the note 4 for its camera and battery life, but the screen size or s-pen never did anything for me. I prefer a small one handed phone with an equally good camera, which I am hoping the S6 is.
But I wanna see response of galaxy s 6 edge in market if it get good rating then I ll buy it.

I'm probably going to be jumping my note 4 also. I've lived without the SD and battery slot. Not too much of a problem. Also the pen and screen size isn't too bad. I'm liloving the feel and style of the edge and the raw power of the processor compared to anything else in these 2k smartphones
Good to know that I'm not the only one I have ordered black edge but still have to wait for a month here :/
Moving from the Note Edge to the 128gb Edge in black (preorder on ATT) - will miss the app shortcuts on the big Edge, hoping some dev will replicate that functionality as honestly it's the only benefit of the Note Edge. Given how rarely I take the pen out, I won't be missing that...
I dont think I'll sell my note 4 is just a month old lol. I will wait for the emerald green edge though and wait for the price to drop a bit
You guys are forgetting the difference in battery size vs the note 4... early reviews have showed the s6 getting 4 hours of on screen time...

Yes I'll miss the note 4 battery life. But I'll take the smaller size and ease of use. I'm not a phablet person. I had a Nexus 6 and now the note 4 and neither did anything for me.
Add me to the list of soon to be former Note 4 owners. I LOVE my Note 4, and I swore I could never go for a smaller screen, but even after all the complaining I've done about the lack of a removable battery and Micro SD card slot, the Exynos 7420 and curved screen has me sold.
I ordered mine on Friday morning, but since I picked the slowest Ground shipping, I'm getting mine tomorrow. The Galaxy S6 is a beautiful phone. The screen looks slightly better than the Note 4, thanks to the Edge and higher PPI. Such an awesome phone. With that said, I will Jump! to the Note 5 day zero. I feel sorry for Samsung engineers for having to step up an already awesome phone (Galaxy S6) with the Note 5. Don't be surprised if they squeeze a 4K screen in the Note 5 just to have an improvement.
I like small phones but love the Note 4 Camera also.
The S6 Camera is the same Sensor as Note 4 with a wider lens and different software-
You should have your wish, maybe a hair less sharp than Note 4 cause of wider field of view but lower noise better low light more control in Pro Mode...
AND may even be sharper in some photos than Note 4 ...
This is a top Camera I just hope the Battery is 6 hours + of SOT at 25% brightness before I buy one .
i sold my note 4 already with a pre order on the gold Edge... i remember going from the note 3 to the NExus 5 and it was an adjustment...
that's why i have a oneplus to satisfy my 5.5 inch screen needs ; >

Yeah, this is what I am worried about. I really really want the S6 to outdo my Note 4 on the camera front, but blind tests are showing that the Note 4 photos are sharper. And I personally like a tad bit over saturation in the photos which the Note 4 does well.
It is going to be very hard to beat the Note 4 camera, which is the best camera in any smartphone I've ever had.
I have the note and the edge, and the note camera is way to noisy in low light

Im waiting for th 128gb version
I've had my S6 Edge for over a week and don't miss my Note 4. I didn't use the s-pen and didn't care about not having a sd card or removeable battery though. I was a little concerned about getting a smaller screen but it doesn't bother me. If I didn't have a Jump then I wouldn't have got the S6. I'm impressed with the S6 Edge build quality, sharpness of the screen and how thin it is. I like having a smaller phone for the summer. When I saw it I had to have her. Hehe. I just like looking and playing with her. LoL
LG 4 looks nice but Samsung set the bar high with the S6
Love this offical Samsung case. Adds no balk and doesn't hide the beauty of the phone.

Photo Samples - Blind Comparison - Results are in!

I got a chance to play with the Galaxy S7 for a while at Best Buy this morning. Amazing device! Anyways, I thought it would be fun to create a little blind photo comparison between the S7 and another phone that I will not name yet. I took the same seven photos with each camera and they are randomized here. First review all of the photos and write down which letter, A or B, you think looks better for each photo number, and then submit your answers in the poll. When we've received a decent number of votes, I'll reveal what the other phone was and which phone took each photo and tally up a winner. Enjoy!

edit:
Now that a fairly clear pattern has emerged, I think it's safe to tally the results. I really don't think these results would change significantly from this point, although now that I'm revealing which is which you'll have to take future poll changes with a grain of salt because fanboys for either phone could come in and vote based on the phone they like and not the photos.
The other phone was a Nexus 5X.
Results:
1) Tie (S7 12 - 5X 11)
2) Galaxy S7 (2A) wins (22 - 3)
3) Galaxy S7 (3B) wins (14 - 8)
4) Galaxy S7 (4A) wins (13 - 9)
5) Nexus 5X (5A) wins (20 - 1)
6) Nexus 5X (6A) wins (16 - 6)
7) Tie (S7 11 - 5X 11)
Total votes: (Basically a tie)
Galaxy S7: 79
Nexus 5X: 78
Doesn't get much closer than that. I would say these two phones are pretty evenly matched in this particular scenario. However, results could be different in other scenarios such as low light or outdoors in natural light. Also, it's worth mentioning that the Galaxy S7 focused and took photos much faster than the Nexus 5X, which is a big factor for a lot of people, and the camera app of the S7 is obviously leaps and bounds better and a joy to use, so you really have to give a slight nod to the S7 even though the end photos were about on par.
The shots from the Galaxy S7 are 1A, 2A, 3B, 4A, 5B, 6B, and 7A.

I decided a poll might be a better way to compile the data, so you might want to enter your answers in that.
Honestly there isn't a big difference between any of the photos except of course for shots number 5. What it all comes down to is low-light photography, and how fast you can launch the camera and focus (not missing the shot is the important part; almost any decent high-end phone these days can take a good daylight photo).
Very difficult to choose the best however I noticed that the ones which are more lighter-whiter has slightly less detail or more distortion when I "deep" zoomed the pictures! But it is very very slightly and it is only for reference, not that it matters to me.I did put my vote but if I had an option to vote "No winner" , that will be an instant fairer vote than what I did now!

so it s not so good?
Most of these require you to look closely at the full size images to really spot a difference - and even then not always easy. Can't wait for the reveal to find out which is which, but a clear trend on the preferred results already.

For daylight photos it's no better than the Note 4, G4, S6, S6 Edge, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, etc., but we pretty much knew that already. What really interests me, and I'm sure many others, is how well it does in low-light situations.

yeah but even if s7 have a superb low light threatment (even what i saw didnt convince at all: you have the same with s6 and post threatment), if the "normal" conditions are blurry, with yellow filter and too much deformations, that not worth it...?

We'll see when the reviews are out. Pretty sure it's going to be a relatively good performer in low-light as far as smartphones are concerned (think samsung should start increasing the size of the sensor to make the photos actually look decent). Thinking about getting a really compact DSLR instead with a fixed lens instead as my Note 4 already takes pretty good photos, and the S7 isn't going to do much better (much faster sure, but pictures from an actual camera just look so much better).

Pretty sure the S7 is going to be better than the S6, but not by much. You probably want to wait a year or two before upgrading, becasue there is only so much you can do with sensors at this size. The S6 already has a damn good smartphone camera and I'm not sure why you would want to switch so soon, when the differences aren't that big (if any). Looking at the Fuji X-M1 and 35mm F1.4mm lens currently, and pretty sure it would massacre any phone, and it really isn't that big.

How did you get to play and take pictures with the LG5? Was there a demo at Best Buy as well? I'm going there today and I will judge for myself. I did my pre-order in already for the S7 Edge. Moving up from the Note 4.

I'm sorry, I missed that. All I saw was 5 and was thinking LG5...:silly:
If you are a human and not a Simpson`s character (pic 5B), the white balance is so off. Ugly yellow cast on almost all s7 photos. I hoped some of the pics, that turned out to be the 5X, was the new Galaxy. I was looking to upgrade my s6Edge with the S7, but for now I cant justify it regarding picture quality.
Other low light pics I`ve seen also give an heavy oil painting effect and little detail.
Its still early. Things can change with software updates. Thanks to O.P for a great post!
