U.S. preorders for the Galaxy S6 may start March 27 - Galaxy S6 General

I also called Best Buy and pretty much confirmed this as well
Cant wait!!

We all know that the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge won't be released before April 10 in the US (just like in other parts of the world). What we don't know is when the two new Samsung flagship smartphones will be available to pre-order Stateside, since there's been no official word on the matter. But a Reddit user may have revealed precious details about this.
Reportedly, Best Buy will accept pre-orders for the S6 and S6 edge on March 27. Moreover, another Reddit user (who claims to be a Samsung employee) says that customers who pre-order an S6 or S6 edge for Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint should receive a free wireless charging pad that will normally cost $49.99.
Obviously, for now we can't confirm these details. However, since Samsung is already accepting pre-orders for the S6 and S6 edge in some markets, we're expecting the same thing to happen soon in the US, too.
Off contract prices for the cheapest Galaxy S6 variant (32 GB) could start at $699.99, while the S6 edge 32 GB might cost $799.99. So, who's looking forward to buying Samsung's new Galaxies?

AT&T pre-orders are live.

Yup exactly why Im getting it from Best Buy!

any chance of getting a verizon one from best buy on the 27th? or at least the free wireless pad

Just as a heads up, looks like the 128GB Edge (possible the standard as well, not sure) for AT&T is web-only. This has two implications:
1. It means picking it up in-store might not happen. And if it does, it'll probably be in limited stores.
2. It means, sooner or later, they might not offer that particular SKU at all, and it'll be the first one to go. I forget which device it was that I owned, but they had a "web-only" variant of it that was actually unobtainable after only a few months and I ended up having to get an "alternate" when I got a replacement.
Also, for anyone curious, looks like the asshats at AT&T had to put their stupid branding on the back of the device.

Preordered a regular S6, first over at my local Best Buy.
Black S6 with free black Qi charger and $50 gift card. That seriously can't be beat.

I badly want to do this deal. Unfortunately the discount arrangement I have with AT&T won't carry over if I get it through Best Buy. I am gonna go ahead and buy the wireless charging pad from them though.

Carrier is AT&T. But AT&T and Sprint are both doing this. That's the Best Buy deal going on for all preorders on the S6 and Edge. Free wireless Samsung charger and $50 gift card.

Kind of, I preordered over the phone this morning.
Call up and check if your local shop is doing it. It's funny I beat the news outlets to the news, and still no reporting of it has been made.

As part of the preorder deal, Best Buy forces you to purchase a $50 gift card to use towards the phone when you pick it up. Not a big deal.

Where is the best place to order an unlocked S6?

S6 Edge could cost £100 more than the traditional form factor coming in at £649 SIM free according to reports. No conformation the memory capacity. Would you pay that much?

Yes i will......If i do it ..i`ll do it right......the EDGE rocks..:fingers-crossed:
Official prices from Samsung Spain are frightening! € 1049 for a 128gb Edge! I do like the green though. Unusual colour.
Samsung Spain Shop
PS Also showing on Amazon.es at the same price.
On the Samsung UK website the edge only comes in 64gb and 128gb versions so it's probably going to be £649 for the 64gb version.

Now I'm a big phone geek, but i couldn't justify £684 on a phone. I wonder if this high price point is going to hold back the popularity of this phone. It, any any other phone is just not worth that kind of money.

Oh absolutely. If they are trying to get an extremely premium price for it, Apple could swoop in and drop the price of the iPhone 6 to draw people away. I really want the edge but I'm having a hard time justifying that much of a price jump over the standard S6.

Sorry, I was speaking of the S6 in general. While the edge is awesome, the novelty isn't worth $150 extra over a standard S6.. (If the pricing howipig posted is correct) but maybe that's just me. I REALLY want one but anything over $75-100 USD more than the standard S6 isn't worth it.
If they do it like they did the note Edge
Regular 32gb S6 will be about $699
S6 Edge 32gb will be about $799
Which are the first 20 or more countries that will be getting the Galaxy S6 Edge is what i am looking for
Mobile fun has the prices up already. There very costly and as much as I want one its not going to be an immediate purchase. 500 quid seems an acceptable amount for a phone, once you go past that it's getting a little silly.
Sure I have a note 4 but I got it on contract so I didn't really notice I paid for it.
Apple never lowers their prices even when the new model is due in a couple of weeks. Yet you see the retailers selling them at a discount because they have to meet sales numbers to Apple as part of their contract. The Carriers can lower the on contract price for the phones 4-6 months out and then again when we draw closer to a new model to clear inventory.
My only question is what are the capacities the US Carriers are going to offer, I want 128GB Edge, color is negotiable.
I have the t mobile jump plan, so I'm my phone bill will only jump up about 15 dollars more a month than it is now. Only have to pay that for a year or until I pay half the phone off then jump again next March or April. I'm probably getting the black 64 or 128 gb in black. Cheers everyone!

Nice. Not bad at all. Want the 64GB one in Gold but I'll be upgrading with EE so hopefully I can get a decent deal as I've been with them for 10 years and got a great upgrade last year. Wonder when we'll start seeing the 128gb ones.

Do you really think Samsung will throw in a free wireless charging pad? I guess it's a possibility but they've not been know to thrown in free stuff.
I'm in two minds whether to pre order or not. I'd prefer to check out full reviews beforehand but that might be to my detriment if Samsung do thrown in a bonus with pre orders.

If you order from Amazon DE for example, then if you have issues you need to return to Amazon DE. Amazon UK won't accept returns for any reason which is a bit of a pain.

Absolutely, although good luck dealing with Samsung warranty Amazon gives you 1 year 'Amazon' warranty no questions asked.. We all know how good their customer support is..
As for worldwide warranty, I've had issues with it before (albeit Sony).. Bought a Sony laptop from Dubai, had a fault, Sony in Cyprus wouldn't accept it for replacement/fixing.

Have to say I had an exceptional experience with samsung when my note 2 developed a fault with the flash memory. Send them the phone and it was back to me, fixed within a few days. I think the phone was about 18 months old at that stage.

Yes, very good experience for me as well with Amazon UK. My Galaxy S3 stopped working suddenly DAYS before the end of the 1-year warranty (switched off by itself, couldn't switch it back on even after swapping the battery). Despite the fact that it was rooted and running a custom ROM, they changed it with no question asked for a new one that I received the day after (even before I sent the old one back), They also asked me if I wanted a full refund instead, which retrospectively I should have done, since the price had dropped and I could get a new one for cheaper

That's good to hear. The only reason I am a bit wary of Samsung warranty is when you trip Knox.. I highly doubt Amazon would care about that; Sammy on the other hand is a different story. I talked to a representative of theirs a few days back about the whole Knox tripping warranty thing and oh boy they didn't like it.. I even showed him the legislation and talked about a scenario where I take Samsung to a small claims court, etc and he insisted Samsung will not fulfill warranty for whatever reason if Knox has been tripped.
I had a run in recently with Samsung mobile support and only after 4 months, and threatening legal action, did I get a replacement phone. My previous note 4 had issues with unstable WiFi but they wouldn't accept this was happening because they couldn't replicate the problem. I was specifically asked about whether I had modified it in any way (as in software) before they arranged for a repair. I'm not sure whether the repair centres that the phones are sent to actually check the Knox counter. In my opinion, they didn't do much other than flash the firmware again which I had already done. Bad experience with Samsung mobile support. Had a problem ages ago with first galaxy s1 with o2 and they replaced it after second time it was sent in for repair worth a new s2.

Unfortunately I can't wait that long. My Nexus 5 is dying right before my very eyes.. I was hoping to get away with the 64GB S6 Edge for £700 max but doesn't look like that will be the case..

Should I buy it or not?

Hi, is it worth it to pay £670 ($1043) for a 64GB Galaxy S6 Edge+ with a free samsung fast charge 5200mAh battery pack. I would be importing it from Spain and it would take upto 10 working days to arrive (from launch date September 3rd). However, many people are saying, "oh the price will depreciate loads". So that makes me think if I should buy the new iPhone which will be £700 in UK. Or should I just buy the 32GB S6 Edge+ which I can get for £560 ($872). In my opinion Hong Kong has the best S6 Edge Plus because it is 64GB and has Dual Sim, but I don't know anyone in Hong Kong to post it to me
P.S. What is the difference between the Asia and Europe models - G928C and G928F?

If you can afford it, get a 64 gig variant. I do not have much use of space but still chose 64GB variant since I know I wont be upgrading till next 18 months and it never hurts to have a few extra gigs left in case I choose to fill it up with high end games. You should prioritize and make a list of things you do in your phone and how much memory, in avg., would that consume. :silly:

I'm not so sure if anything is going to change within a month of the release. However, if you're open to buying from eBay, you might see some considerable drop in price. I personally do not prefer buying from eBay, and when I do, I take some time to do some analysis on the seller.

UPDATE: Managed to get an S6 Edge+ 64GB Gold Unlocked from UAE for $867!
There appeared to also be no region lock sticker on it

I'll probably keep the phone until next august to buy the next one lol. I just sold my iPhone 6 Plus 64GB and on that I used 31GB in total. I don't know if it is worth paying £680 for 64GB. Should I wait a month for prices to fall or not?

Best buy pre order

So I wanna pre order the Galaxy s8 plus from best buy because I can just put it on my best buy credit card. I recently just switched to tmobile but I see best buy has every carried except for tmobile. Would I be able to just buy the phone full price say from best buy through sprint and just pop in a tmobile sim card? Please let me know thank you!
If you get it directly from Samsung, you get the phone for $650 for T-Mobile and if you get a Samsung credit card it's interest fee for 24 months. Bestbuy gives you 12 months.

That deal is long gone. It also had the promo VR gear for free OR the upgrade package with the VR gear, wireless headphones, and 256mb micro sd card for $99.99. No filling out the samsung promo forms then waiting on it to ship out after you buy the phone. I'm just wondering how much of a pain it would be to get unlocked for AT&T. Mine came to $808 with tax and 2 day air and the upgraded promo package.

Preorder Extras

According to Samsung "Get the new Gear VR with Controller for free, plus Oculus content bonus when you pre-order the Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8+". Excellent! Of course, whats extras w/o some hoops to jump through!

The promo is valid for GS8 or GS8 Plus orders placed between 3/30/2017 and 4/20/2017. Regardless of which bundle you do, you will have to submit proof of purchase to Samsung and wait for the promo items to show up. That could take a few weeks. Documents from the valid purchase period must be submitted by May 14th.
The only thing Samsung offered me in the UK with the upgrade programme was insurance
I wonder if the deal is region exclusive... It's definitely in the US & Canada for sure, but no idea on other regions.
last year was the same , then people start write to samsung and they give gear vr in uk as well if I remeber correctly
Last year you had a choice of the Gear S2 smartwatch or the Gear VR. There was a very limited number of the watches and I was one of the lucky ones to get one. I already had a Gear VR. I sold the watch for $175.00. There was also a little known promotion of a free Samsung 32gb SD card that I took advantage of.

My local costco is doing a pre-order bonus of the Gear VR, Gear remote, and Level U Pro wireless earbuds when you preorder galaxy s8 or s8+. If you want the earbuds aswell check them out.
if i remember from the note 7 promo it didnt take very long to receive the item. i got the 7 on reease day after preordering it and immediately filled out the necessary info and had my gear fit 2 in about a week.

Was that only for Verizon or can you get that same deal with the other carriers too? I did take a look at their site, and while I do know that you have to pre-order in the warehouse, I only saw Verizon's logo on the ad for it...
I already pre-ordered my phone at Best Buy, so if there's a better deal at Costco, maybe I could put an order there?

As far as I can tell from calling samsung, no GearVR is offered in the UK... That sucks!

I believe it is Verizon only unfortunately. Sams club offers the Gear VR + Controller and a $150 cash card to sams. Id rather buy it from there instead of the ~$44 headset from costco.

Yup the UK and Europe is obviously not that important to Samsung. I called them and was basically told that the Samsung marketing department made a strategic decision to push this only to the States. So now you know where we stand with that and probably with updates going forward

Yep, it is. I confirmed that when I went to Costco earlier today. :/ I don't have a Sam's club near me, so that's not even an option for me.
I wish such deals exist in the netherlands, you get nothing!

You have to submit it on Samsung Promotions AFTER you receive your device. Not 100% sure if you have to pay for the extra before you submit the rebate, or if it's an option when you try to redeem the promo and you'd pay then.
I have pre ordered mine with Vodafone UK, they didn't offer anything other than getting the phone a few days early.

It's disappointing that Samsung or the carriers offer any incentive really to pre-order. I would have like the charging stand/pad as a free option, or a large capacity high speed sd card for the phone!!

Last year in Greece samsung gave vr headset with preorder. This year give nothing!! Nice sammy!!
