Can't say for BR but on MX firmware you need to have 22.34.7 installed before applying this (22.34.11) update.
Both updates installed without any issues.

Cant update cos have 4.4.4 rights???
I have 5.0.2 Br installed, but when i try to flash it through recovery it says that i have something like 4.4.4 test.... and cant install.
Dont know what to do =(

These are the versions its looking for to qualify for the update:
LXG22.33-12.11
LXG22.33-12.13
If you modified your build.prop, it won't work. If you have modified any files under /system, it will not work. If you modified your kernel, it will not work.
Code:
getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") == "motorola/quark_retbr/quark_umts:5.0.2/LXG22.33-12.11/11:user/release-keys" ||

xposed doesn't modify any system files as far as I know.
Look closely at the error.
You have a unique oppurtunity due to root and twrp. We can strip out the parts that fail from installing and bypass that.
But I need an exact error to do that for you.
Heck, I can even remove the update check, but you stand a strong chance of a soft brick.

Yeah, I've been contemplating editing the updater-script, so it'd install through TWRP on top of LXG22-33-12.7 (the "first" 5.0.2 OTA posted here on XDA).

Please do not install yet
there are 3 updates to install in order

@danger2u I was able to flash SOAK 3, with only updating SOAK 1 (didn't flash SOAK 2). It seems that SOAK 3's build requirement is either SOAK 1 or SOAK 2.
EDIT: by the way, SOAK 1 and SOAK 3's filenames are identical. The link in SOAK 1 is 21.6MB, while SOAK 3 is 17.7MB.

I can just tell you how I installed the updates (always rooted with TWRP flashed); For me it worked fairly well without issues but YMMV and there might be easier or better ways:
1> in TWRP: restore TWRP KK Backup (which I made after having received and rooted my telephone but there are "clean" backups available at XDA, AFAIR Chazzmatt posted his')
2> Factory reset
3> Remove root (in SU-App)
4> Flash KK (recovery + boot + radio).img, and sparcechunks by fastboot (from RETLA_XT1225_4.4.4_KXG21.50-9_cid12_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip)
5a> from stock recovery (install from SD card) Lollipop 5.02 : Blur_Version.21.11.9.quark_retla.retla.en.01.zip
5b> from stock recovery (install from SD card) 1st update: Blur_Version.22.34.7.quark_retla.retla.en.01.zip
5b> from stock recovery (install from SD card) 2nd update: Blur_Version.22.34.11.quark_retla.retla.en.01.zip
That's for MX firmware, BR might be different!

I dont think so as you can still download OTA with modified Roms, but you need Stock recovery to install - but if it worries you edit the .bat script to remove the line with logo2.bin in it near end of script.
if we cant OTA install, but have a OTA zip of Lollipop we can modify it and just flash it via mfastboot method anyway

I don't know, I'm quite new to Motorola phones but I read in this forum more than once that for OTA updates (atleast for the lollipop one) you must have a completely stock rom, even a frozen system app would make the update fail to install.

I still have bootloader locked and everything as it came out of the box waiting for 5.0 OTA (of course I'll try to get the link and post it on XDA )

[How to] Upgrade to 4.5.5.1 (or other 4.5.x) with root in TWRP:

Update2: Updated for FireOS 4.5.5.1. Note that you can root 4.5.5.1 directly via Kingroot. With root, you could get TWRP to work, and re-install any FireOS 4 or 5 with all the goodies. The instructions to get TWRP working are here (you need to flash 4.5.3 bootloaders if you do not start with FireOS 4.5.3 !!!) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62011272&postcount=2
Update: I had a couple of knee-jerks, but realized that I can make TWRP say "full_ariel" (I've changed the string), which enables the standard Amazon update files to work !!! I did test the modified TWRP (and the attached zips), everything works fine.
This 4.5.5 update provides no perceptible difference with 4.5.4, and everything has been running smoothly for me for the past few weeks. So out of the general principle I do recommend upgrading!
If you are just joining us, and have a pristine Fire HD, head over here to get your fire rooted and TWRP installed [all steps up to and including 3) ] :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/root-v2-0-fireos-4-5-4-gapps-t3150613
With TWRP installed, there is a quicker way to install 4.5.5, without changing the update file (in contrast to my earlier instructions for 4.5.4). This is a dirty flash, and will keep all the prior settings and programs (if you have not had GAPPS yet, see additional instructions below):
0) Turn off wireless (airplane mode)
If you used JMZ tool for GAPPS install or did a manual update prevention, clean up GAPPS update blockers by deleting the following dirs in /data/app (this will make your life easier later on!):
com.android.vending-1.apk
com.android.vending-2.apk
com.google.android.gms-1.apk
com.google.android.gms-2.apk
1) Boot into TWRP, flash the attached 4.5.3_twrp_recovery_full_ariel_string.zip. Reboot to recovery (TWRP)
2) While in TWRP (this modified version self-identifies as full_ariel) :
a) flash the respective Amazon ROM 4.5.x update (the latest one?): http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/fire-hd-rom-links-t3173102 (rename to zip before flashing)
b) Must do this (!!!) - flash attached 4.5.3_twrp_recovery_uboot.zip
c) flash attached make_space_v01_fireos4.zip to remove moffice and weather in order to increase space in /system.
d) flash Pico (Uni) GAPPS for KK http://www.androidrootz.com/2015/03/download-android-44x-kitkat-pa-gapps.html [if you did not have GAPPS before, skip this for now, and come back after Step 3) ]
e) wipe cache and dalvik
f) before reboot say yes to root
3) Boot into fireOS (wait for it to upgrade)
a) install SuperSu
b) disable OTA updates [in ES Explorer rename /system/priv-app/DeviceSoftwareOTA.apk to *apk_ ] - The script in make_space*zip already renamed this file automatically, so nothing to do here.
c) install Xposed. Note if you are using 4.5.5.1, you'll need to get the Xposed installer from here in order to address SDK version 19 error :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64063168&postcount=62
d) install Busybox
Optional 4) : if you did not install GAPPS in 2), boot to TWRP, and install GAPPS
That's it! Whatever you had working before, should be working now the exact same way.
If you prefer a manual way where you repackage the 4.5.5 update file (and perhaps remove some apps from /system), see these instructions (the updater-script is the same) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-upgrade-to-4-5-4-twrp-root-t3141648

I've updated the instructions. As the first step, you flash the modified recovery (which says "full_ariel"). This modified recovery will accept the standard Amazon update file. After the update is done, I have you flash the standard TWRP back (just in case) together with 4.5.3 bootloaders.
I don't understand new title, "Upgrade to 4.5.5 (or any 4.5.x) with root in TWRP:" Isn't this just for upgrading to 4.5.5? The files are for 4.5.5, so you wouldn't use it to upgrade to 4.5.4, right? (Yes, I'm going to post a pointer to all the guides. The choices are confusing even me, and I practically live here!) Also, if you see fit, could you add [How To] to title so this stands out with other upgrade guides? yr friend, Do consistency-my-middle-name Looper.

Potentially this will supersede this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-upgrade-to-4-5-4-twrp-root-t3141648
The difference is mainly not having to mess around with the update file (which has it's uses, if one wants to shrink the size of "system").

One problem...
I'm having a heck of a time trying to block ads in 4.5.5. I've tried the adb command pm disable com.amazon.kindle.kso/com.amazon.kindle.kso.lockscreen.lockscreenupdateS ervice as mentioned in another thread but with no luck. Did Amazon change something in the structure of 4.5.5 that renders this method unworkable? Is there another way?

Did you put a space in "S ervice?" There is none, but it may display that way. So if you did, do it with no space and reboot afterwards if ads don't go away immediately. The other way is JMZ fire tool, but that does a chmod on ad folder and displays the "killed ads" message with every boot.
Please let me know if the pm block pm disable works or not. Thanks!
Looks like I'm good! I tried it several different ways (block vs. disable; with space and without) and it appears to have taken hold after a reboot. We can chalk this one up to user error. Thanks for the response.

Did you flash the older 4.5.4 ? Or the newer 4.5.5 ?
Can you check how much free space you have in /system as is? (DiskUsage app in the store)
In any event, and easy quick hit (20Mb) is to remove something like /system/priv-app/moffice_6.0.1_default_en00105_multidex_195423.apk
You can remove more, as per this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61008736&postcount=3

Well, as they say, practice makes perfect !
I am surprised it managed to install itself with TWRP present instead of the stock recovery ...
Can you please upload the attachments to a file hoster cause the servers from xda are slow 14 kbps and downloads cancels!

Thanks for the tip!
Ran into the same issue while trying to upgrade my rooted 4.5.3 gapps Firehd 7..
Mhm Ok now I'm running into issues when trying to update the google play services, it always fails saying "not enough space available".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61008736&postcount=3
I've moved all the odexed system APKs mentioned in this post to /data/apps and I have 1.5gb free on the "sdcard".
:/
*Edit*
Nvm, found the reason...it's because I allready had gapps installed through jmz's tool and it blocked play services updates from being installed, because back then a play services update would break the entire thing again.
So I had to do these additional steps from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-hd/general/how-to-upgrade-to-4-5-4-twrp-root-t3141648
0) If you used JMZ tool for GAPPS install or did a manual update prevention, clean up GAPPS update blockers by deleting the following dirs in /data/app (this will make your life easier later on!):
com.android.vending-1.apk
com.android.vending-2.apk
com.google.android.gms-1.apk
com.google.android.gms-2.apk

@op maybe include it in your updated guide for ppl who allready had gapps and used jmzs handy tool a couple months ago.

[OTA Update] Stagefright & Security Patch for GPE 5.1 Firmware (LMY47M.M001)

Hello guys!
This is the OTA file containing some security fixes for that Stagefright bullcrap and some stability fixes too.
You need to be on Android 5.1 GPE Firmware, compilation number LMY47M.M001.
Put the *.ZIP on the internal storage, then go to Settings > About Phone > System Updates and this will be applied. (This is NOT 5.1.1, it's just 5.1. No bigger System updates seem to be planned for Moto G GPE, since this device is 18 months old now).
NOTE: This wont flash in any other ROM or Firmware. Also, this wont flash on TWRP, CWM or any other custom recovery. You need to have stock AOSP recovery from GPE firmware.

CHEERS!!!
LINK ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'd like to include this patch in my GPE ROMs. It would be helpful if someone could do a fresh install of the GPE Firmware, apply this OTA Update and then make a TWRP Backup or System Dump via ADB:
adb shell
su
busybox tar czvf /sdcard/systemdump.tgz /system
exit
exit
adb pull /sdcard/systemdump.tgz
Note: No personal data will be included.

Thanks ! I had a notification for this update but could not install it because of non-stock recovery.... I will try to flash it manually.
EDIT : Trying to flash it with TWRP and have this message : "Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/update.zip'
EDIT 1 : Also this message : "Package expects build fingerprint of motorola/falcon_gpe/falcon_umts:5.1/LMY47M.M001/6:user/release-keys or motorola/falcon_gpe/falcon_umts:5.1/LMY47M.M003/8:user/release-keys;
this device has motorola/falcon_retuglb/falcon_umts:4.3/14.10.0Q3.X-84-16/6:user/release-keys" ...
This is weird because i'm on 5.1 GPE and have compilation number LMY47M.M001 in "About the phone"...
What can I do ?

You need to have:
1. Untouched System partition (that means NO ROOT, nor ROOTED AND THEN UNROOTED System partion)
2. Stock AOSP recovery fron GPE Firmware...
So I'd reccomend you to reflash the entire GPE firmware, then apply this patch! :fingers-crossed:

Ok, thanks for your reply. And what is the easiest way to reflash the gpe firmware ? I followed this tutorial ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/general/guide-flash-android-5-1-lollipop-gpe-t3071960 ) six months ago to convert my non-GPE XT1032 with android 5.0.2 to the GPE variant with android 5.1. Sorry for my questions, I'm a total noob.

you should have the GPE firmware zip, then unzip the file, put the contents in the folder which contains fastboot files, then uncompress the zip file in the attachments below, put the bat file in the same folder as the firmware files,
Then Run the bat file, voila!! you'll be on clean GPE 5.1.
Then setup the moto G and apply the stage fright update when notified.
Then flash the stock motorola radio/modem files to get back signal
then flash twrp to get root.
@lost101 i made the twrp backup, it is 1.34 GB. Clean firmware with just the update installed and not flashed asian modem files.
uploading the zip file which is 725 MB in size.
Thanks for the OTA link

Just the initial version/modem check on updater-script. You can compare both zips if you want (original OTA and modified OTA).
And of course it works with a custom recovery. Check the two proofs, please. Was installed and tested using TWRP... :/

Don't know.
Was tested with a clean 5.1 installation (using GPE 5.1 ROM (Untouched) (484mb) from http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/development/rom-stock-motorola-lollipop-rom-t3017510 ) so, no root.
You can always unroot from inside SuperSU settings, then update with the modified OTA and afterwards install SuperSU again before restart from TWRP.

Anybody know how to fix this without replacing TWRP with stock OP Recovery? Thanks

You can flash it thorough official twrp or stock recovery
You can also keep your recovery, but you have to slightly modify your package.
1. Unzip package.
2. Go to META-INF\com\google\android\
3. Edit updater-script with notepad++, or just with any text editor.
You should see "getprop("ro.build.product") == "OnePlus" || abort("This package is for \"OnePlus\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.build.product") + "\".");"
4. You can delete this line or change getprop("ro.build.product") == "OnePlus" to getprop("ro.build.product") == "One". In my case I had to change it into getprop("ro.build.product") == "onyx".
5. Save it and zip whole package.
6. Flash it and enjoy
My advice is, DO NOT flash this update yet...
Now I cannot back to TWRP anymore... Anyone have a workaround for this?
Still waiting for a solution. :/
Waiting for opinions before flash hehe

No, you cannot simply do that anymore. Look at the OPX forums at forums.oneplus.net, as advised by @pwseo, you need to follow the Mega Unbrick Guide first to fully restore your OPX to its original Lolipop FW, after that you are free to install TWRP again.
Any update on VOLTE?
Root
With Kingroot YouTube can get root, maybe with flashfire you can install twrp?
Edit: Can't install twrp but can install xposed.
Flashed OxygenOS 3.1.0 using TWRP. Everything is soooo smooth. Antutu benchmark give 57195 points, so greattt.

With twrp? How?
If you're using stock recovery, just wipe data & cache and flash it.
If you're using TWRP, please do a Factory Reset then wipe system, data, cache, ART cache (very important, you will have many bugs on your device such as not recognize SIM card, Wifi not working... if you don't clean install). Then flash this ROM and reboot twice.
If you encountered error "This package is for "OnePlus" devices; this is a "ONE"." after select the ZIP, please extract the ROM, open the file META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script then remove the first line:
Code:
getprop("ro.build.product") == "OnePlus" || abort("This package is for "OnePlus" devices; this is a "" + getprop("ro.build.product") + "".");
Save the file, re-ZIP the ROM and flash it. Ta-da!

But you won't be able to boot back into twrp, so it's kinda useless. Better to have stock recovery than not being able to boot back into twrp=p
Unless you were able to flash supersu with twrp before booting the rom and not being able to boot back into twrp. Was that the case?

[Official ROM] Desire 816 dual-sim (A5_DUG) - Marshmallow + First OTA Update

Hello, I'm bringing the Official Marshmallow ROM for desire 816 (dual sim) a5_dug and it's pre-rooted and (all credits goes to (xXminiWHOOPERxX)) and how to intall the OTA updates after flashing the ROM
Rom Information:
Code:
Android OS : 6.0
Kernel : Stock
Sense Version : 7.0
Release Keys : 3.12.401.2 release-keys
Download Link: Mega.nz
How to Install the flashable zip using TWRP recovery:
1. place the flashable zip (Sense7-MarshMallow.3.12.401.2_DualDesire816.zip) on the sd card.
2. wipe the cache, dalvik cache, system, data and internal storage (if you don't have any data on your phone).
3. install Sense7-MarshMallow.3.12.401.2_DualDesire816.zip through the install option in TWRP Recovery.
4. reboot the phone when the installer finishes and everything should be fine.
Now you can't install the OTA update with the custom recovery, and even if you reverted back to stock recovery it won't work, so you have to follow the following instructions to install the OTA update on your custom recovery.
How to Install the OTA update
1. download the OTA update from your phone from
Code:
Settings > About > Software Update
, after it finishes the flashable zip of the update should be located in
Code:
data/data/com.htc.updater/cache/
or
Code:
data/data/com.htc.updater/files/
2. it should be something similar to
Code:
OTA_A5_DUG_M60_DESIRE_SENSE70_MR_HTC_Region_3.21.xxx.x_R-3.12.401.2_release_479056hu4q3r1wkhz4b5n3
3. copy it to your pc and extract the zip file.
4. navigate to
Code:
/META-INF/com/google/android
5. you should find a file named
Code:
update-script
, open it with notepad or sublime text or any code editor you use.
6. from line 4 to 9 you should see the following code
Code:
getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") == "htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/698282.2:user/release-keys" ||
getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") == "htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/748385.1:user/release-keys" ||
abort("Package expects build fingerprint of htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/698282.2:user/release-keys or htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/748385.1:user/release-keys; this device has " + getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") + ".");
getprop("ro.product.device") == "htc_a5dug" || abort("This package is for \"htc_a5dug\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
replace it with the following:
Code:
#getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") == "htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/698282.2:user/release-keys" ||
# getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") == "htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/748385.1:user/release-keys" ||
# abort("Package expects build fingerprint of htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/698282.2:user/release-keys or htc/htc_europe/htc_a5dug:6.0/MRA58K/748385.1:user/release-keys; this device has " + getprop("ro.build.fingerprint") + ".");
getprop("ro.product.device") == "a5" || abort("This package is for \"a5\" devices; this is a \"" + getprop("ro.product.device") + "\".");
7. save the file with no extension as it is and re-zip the archive using winzip or whatever tool you use to compress as (zip).
8. flash the OTA zip file you made using TWRP or any custom recovery.
