[Q] How to not receive calls on my smartwatch R5 ? - Other SmartWatches

Hi all!
Does anyone know how to not receive calls on my smartwatch?
I know its strange but I prefer use my phone to talk.
I only want to receive notifications and SMS (all normal function except communication).
I know how to transfer on the phone during a call on smartphone's screen, but I want this to be automatic.
If I unselect "call control" and "media control" in the phone's Bluetooth settings, I loose the Bluetooth connection.
Also, I want don't use "media", because I use Waze and I need the sound on the phone otherwise the sound goes on the watch.
thank you

works the same as on the u8 and all the other clones
you MUST have either media or phone audio enable, otherwise no connection, no notifications
they would need to fix this in the firmware, if that is possible at all...

Could you please elaborate the solution. I'm facing the same issue...its very awkward to talk on the smartwatch, especially if there are people around you.

Download and install: Tasker app. Differents way to get it.
I don't undertstand why, but I can continue to use it after 7 trial day...
And you need to program it. It's not so easy. You have to search and to pratice in this app in order to understand.
Find in attachement, some screenshot of my tasker.
Only the 3 first profiles are need to stop bluetooth during call.
In resume, when tasker see a call, you stop BT and you set a variable to memo BT watch was ON.
If no call and memo BT watch is ON, active BT.
Sorry for my english.

Down in the Google Voice and Skype thread below, from monkeyboywa:

Don't think i'm unique...but I've now got GV + Skype working decently WITH BLUETOOTH.
I initiate the call from the gtab and it plays fine. As with all VOIP systems...there is a bit of a lag...but everyone said I sound clear enough.
I am using the hacked skype.apk...paired my BT (Motorola bt820 - a real piece of ****..but that's another subject) and it works great.
I've tried to use GV + sipdoid but the lag was horrible...and almost everyone said i sounded either too much static or it picked up every fricken sound and multiplied it x10 (this was using the included headphones)
So i'm going to keep trying this setup...other BT headsets I have...and if in 27 days still works great....bye bye voice/data plan (which isnt usable by the tablet atm..grrrr...)

the problem is that i can't use gv from my country. . . and by the look of it its rather a complicated setup just to use voice dial
You tried Vlingo over Bluetooth?
i tried it.. all of these apps dont do what i think a voice dialer should do.. run in a background and when u press the button on your bluetooth headset it should let to call someone by saying their name without you opening the tab and chosing the Tap To Talk..
no point in voice dial if u have to access the tab for it to work
anyone know if this is even possible?

There is ONE firmware where this feature worked: XXJI5.
Voice dialing over BT actually worked.
Since that firmware, it it no longer working and i tried every firmware out there.
I even reverted back to XXJI5 and confirmed it started working again.
if i flash that firmware will i still be able to use voice and 3g/hsdpa in europe? don't wanna lose that since that works.fine here in the.eu

Try Cyberon Voice Commander

Cyberon Voice Commander just works as what you describe. You can download the application from Android Market.

I'm running JMC and sadly there's no update to the voice dialer app, in fact there isn't even one -on- the tab.
Only real thing I missed from my N1. Would there be a way to extract the voice dialer Apk and push it to system/app for an artificial install?
Edit: After trying a multitude of apps, I believe it might have something to do with the bluetooth connection (in addition) to the lack of a proper voice dialer app. Several after-market apps won't recognize the long-press call action from a BT headset.

There's no trial... at $6 and only 3 stars, I'm a bit reluctant!
Have many people tried it?
I can't believe such an advanced device lacks such a basic feature.
Samsung Vibrant on Froyo has this feature and it helps a lot when driving. Considering that Vibrant and Tab are very similar it should be possible to make it working without any additional software.
I know that Vibrant has separate VoiceDialer.apk
VoiceDialer.apk (rapidshare /files/ 301866434/ VoiceDialer.apk) works perfectly and triggers standard Google Voice Dialer via long press and via Bluetooth. My HD2 running on DFT_LEO_NAND_Android did not support this out of the box so I am glad to have found a solution to en my Car Kit frustration.

And thank you kind sir.
i did just fine using vlingo and choice dialer free
even tried it
for vlingo, u can wake up the tab 1st, then do the call, but somehow it lacks of understanding what i said, and ended up calling another people
i prefer choice dialer, as it understands me quite nicely, but from a screen off tab, long press doesnt work >.<
when its on, it works nicely
havent used it again for a long time, and today i found out that some app is using the mic so i cant use choice dialer
how to find out who's the culprit? anybody knows?
Using Choice Dialer Plus Free (AKA Hands-Free Voice Dialer (free)) from Android Market with my Infuse. Works great and doesn't need a data connection.

[Q] Using an Android phone on a motorbike

Hi guys,
I use my Nexus 4 in conjunction with a first gen Sena SMH10 for listening to music, Navigation via Google Maps & taking calls. I have a few simple desires to make it operate just so, but I don't know how to make these things work or if it's even possible out of the box.
Google Navigation should either always be on top or allow the phone app to show the caller ID and then return to focus afterwards without prompt or user intervention
Google voice search should work repeatedly for multiple queries without having to exit the app each time. I have to use a third party app (bluetooth launch) to call it using the voice command button on my Sena over the voice dialler app anyway which would be OK but it only seems to work for calling one person and then freezes on that screen.
The reason for the both requests is that I don't want to have to pull pver to get the phone to be back on the Navigation view each time something interrupts the app. The screen will go blank if either I call someone or someone calls me during Navigation and then won't come back sfter the call without me pulling over to sort it out. Pulling over, taking my gloves off and fumbling around through the plastic of the holder I have is a pain and these functions above are quite easy to achieve I'm sure but may need some more customisation than I have the dev skills for. Or perhaps it can't be done without Google's intervention? I don't know but I posted here as it's the forum most likely to have someone who does!
Thanks in advance for your help!
Google Now?
Yep - it's the most reliable for its ability to recognise what I'm asking when riding at 60 or 70MPH. I tried Vlingo but it just doesn't have the same recognition quality when compared to Google Now.

looking for an app similar to moto assist?

Switched to this phone from the Moto X...just looking for an app thats similar to moto assist in the aspect i can set up a silent profile at night and have anyone that calls more than once go through? I've seen tons with lists of contacts to allow to ring but I need something that will allow anyone calling more than once in a row to go through like the assist app has. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and not sure if this could go here to start a discussion in case someone is in the same boat or if it needs to go in Q&A
Yes, questions should go in Q&A. What you're looking for is Agent:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tryagent&hl=en
The "Nights Keeper" app on the Play Store might do what you want. In addition to the whitelist which you said you are not really looking for, you can use "emergency call" mode and specify the number of times a contact must call before ringing through.

I use the preinstalled Smart Connect app for quiet mode during sleeping hours, but I don't think it can be configured to let calls ring after first attempt.

One word: Tasker. ?
been very happy with agent so far.
Nights keepers is really good!
Tasker
I'd have used smart connect if it had better functionality but its too basic. So Tasker for me too.

Phone calls won't mute even with setting on Asus zenwatch2 selected

Hi everyone,
I have done a search on the forum and have not found a thread that is similar to the issue I am having. I recently bought an asus zenwatch 2 and after hours of extensive research I think it may be a known issue, now I am posting to see if people have found a way around this or an app that can do it. Basically, I understand that Android wear watches receives notifications based on what the phone receives. If phone is on silent I wont receive any notifications either. So here are a few questions I have:
1) I have mute phone notification setting on my Asus zenwatch 2 selected on the android wear app, However, this does not apply to phone calls, if I get a phone call it will not mute the ringtone and will ring on my phone. Is there a known solution or an app that can stop this?
2) Is there a way or an app to separate the notifications setting so that the watch and phone can be controlled separately? Something similar to Pebble method of notification settings?
3) I was wondering if there is a face designer app that allows you to customize watch faces with unlimited widgets on the watch face, instead of just 3? Is there one that is compatible with wear mini launcher?
Cheers!
1. I use Tasker for this. I noticed that option didn't work for me either.
2. I don't know what you mean by this but you can set the notifications for every app in the application notifications settings menu on the phone and block apps from the android wear setting.
3. Try the Watchmaker app.

Thanks Jahciple,
Still learning about tasker, but it seems like it is a saviour for android users, I'll definitly look into it, thanks for the idea. Will I need to root?
In regards, to the second question, I meant is it possible to be able to control the notifications separately from the watch? Such as having the phone on silent and the watch still vibrates? Or say, having the watch to silent and the phone on vibrate? hopefully this makes sense.
Yep, found watchmaker and am using, definitely what I need.
Cheers!
I don't think there is way to control the notifications like what you are stating. I used Tasker to just turn off the vibrate on the phone when my watch is connected through bluetooth and then just put my watch in theater mode when I don't want to receive anything on the watch at the moment, but once you disable theater mode, you should still see the notifications. I really wished there was a way to turn off the vibrate on the watch, I just want to hear my phone, when a call is coming in and then look at the watch to see who it is.

Are you able by any chance to show me what profile/action you set up to achieve this?

S7e notifications in car stereo, possible?

Hello!
As the title says, I would like to know if any of you have an idea if this is possible, I've found an app here on XDA called Botifier but I was wondering if any of you have some alternatives and/or your own recommendations/experience.
Thanks in advance for taking some time to answer.
Hi
I don't really know what you're looking for but I use an app called "volume a2dp" wich read your text message through bluetooth when you're in your cav, you can manage the overall volume when connected to selected bt devices.
Cherry on the cake you can retrieve your vehicle by gps because the app store the last location before disconnection.

Thanks a lot, will try that as well, I just want some options to have some sort of "smartwatch-like notifications" but directed to the car stereo/audio system, you know, just to see if that's safest way of not missing important stuff specially on long rides.
