LG G2 D802 - Which ROMs will work if I am using GSM only in Australia
What do you mean which rom? There are no custom roms available right now so you have to stick with stock. You can always root to personalize the phone a little more.

Like Clean ROM for example. My question was more of a query of which section I should be using to flash ROMs if I own the D802 model phone.
Can I flash from any variant or are they all purely for CDMA/LTE?

I am from Australia and we don't have AT&T, Verizon, or T-Mobile. We do have LTE carriers but I don't use them as they are severely underdeveloped and waste battery in my city.
My network runs on GSM/UMTS with the following frequencies.
2G
900Mhz
1800Mhz
3G
900MHz
2100MHz
Also why is there such little development for such a good device, is it purely because it is new? - I am thinking about getting the Optimus G Pro instead because it has decent support
Hi, I'm still awaiting to receive my very recently purchased G2 phone (so not 100% sure on model number) but I purchased it here in Australia so atm just assuming it is the Australia model. Using 'Australia' to search G2 forum, this appears to be the last time Australia was mentioned, so, not much it seems. Just wanting to see about what (custom) ROMs are workable for the Australia model, as in, "International model d802 will or will not work" for example?
It's a bit crazy here to dedicate much time to research due to Xmas + new year, wish I spend more time but alas, need to ask a couple somewhat 'generic' things while I'm waiting for the phone to arrive.

u can use all the custom roms as long as its designed for D802..

looking to replace my reliable razr maxx for lg g2, but please what is difference between d802 and docomo L-01F, mainly could I install stock UK rom on docomo and all features are same? I live in Uk but definitely need 32 gb version, or even Korean could do if 4g is working in UK, not sure what difference will do smaller battery. Many thanks for any advice or help...

Ok, 24 hours, 83 views, an still no one know different, there must be few people on xda who using L-01F, and they now what is same, like 32 gb space like on d802, and they must know what is little bit different, like maybe 3g or 4 g support, or something else, please still waiting, looking for advice or help, or at least link to website where I could full correct spec for L-01F. Many thanks.

Main differences are addition of the 1-seg TV tuner, slightly smaller battery and some 4G frequencies not used in Europe. It's also going to come with a lot of strange Japanese carrier bloatware.

Well looking at some info it seems the normal UK model the LG D802 has support for 5 LTE bands: 800/900/1800/2100/2600
In the UK we currently use 3 LTE bands: 800/1800/2600 800: O2/Vodafone/3, 1800: EE/3, 2600: EE (from wikipedia E&OE)
The Japanese model does 3 LTE bands 800/1500/2100
So as long as you don't want to use EE's 4G network you might be OK.

No sign of anyone putting the stock LG global ROM on the Japanese hardware yet though.
I was also looking on ebay for a 32GB G2, gave up in the end and picked up a nearly new 16GB for £200.

It's a definite no then, buddy! With the 16 gb model you'll only have 10gb storage available. You can get a microsd reader keyhanger but that's not practical. I think it's meenova.com?

I've seen LG G2 L-01F docomo 32 GB version at a nice price on some websites but I cannot find any relevant information about putting the stock LG G2 rom on the docomo version of G2.
Hi, I find new D802 with 32 gb for reasonable price, then I decided to buy this model, still believe L-01F is reasonable alternative.
How much have you payed for LG G2 L-01F docomo 32 GB ? Did you managed to replace the software on docomo with the normal LG G2? With the phone working properly afterwards of course

My Galaxy s3 just died this morning So I'm thinking of buying a new phone. But I don't have too much budget on my hands. My needs are:
1) Good community support: I want to buy phone which has Stable CM12.1 release. Please let me know are there any major bugs on cm12.1 roms for i9500 ?
2) Good Camera: I believe s4 has one
3) Expandable Memory
4) Good battery backup
5) Good Display
Also the US cousin of i9500 i.e. i9505 is also available for little more, but if I go for that I would lose warranty and will also spend little more. So is it worth to go for i9505 ? I know it has 4g which i9500 doesn't have. But how good are the lollipop ROM stability on i9505, is it more stable ? Any other things which I'm missing out ?
Also I have option to go for oneplus one, but I don't know how good is the quality of phone when compared with Samsung ? I want to use it for atleast next 2-3 years
Avoid US models of S4 unless from T-Mobile (M919). The AT&T (I337) and Verizon (I545) models come with locked bootloaders which make customization difficult. The Verizon and Sprint (L720) models use CDMA instead of the global standard GSM, making them difficult to use outside of the US.
Canadian devices don't have the bootloader or CDMA issues, but if you live anywhere in Europe you will want the I9505. The LTE bands of US and Canadian devices are different, and you may get slow LTE, if any LTE at all. Whether Android 5.x.x runs well on it is a matter of opinion. Some will swear by it while others curse it. You'll have to try it out for yourself.
The I9500 has no LTE but also has little custom ROM support. I don't recommend it.

That's a good choice, but you were contemplating the OnePlus One as well. What made you select the G2 over the One?
G2 camera got ois ..only thing I miss in s4.. one plus one and yuphoria got official cm os .. greatly customizable

One plus one is only 16gb, 64gb is expensive
I'm getting g2 32gb for lot less, even cheaper than one plus 16gb..hardware/ram pretty much same between them two..
I'm looking for a new phone. Earlier I was considering galaxy s4 i9500 but I'm thinking of going for g2 as it has better community support However, I see international version d802 is about $50 costlier than us d800 version
Hardware wise I've compared they both seem same. So does it make sense to spend extra $50, as I see the ROMs support all the variants ? Is there anything I'm missing out ?
Also, is LP 5.1.1 stable on g2 ? I'm specifically looking for CM based roms

I live in Australia and I'm seriously considering buying this phone. The version sold here is the H990DS, I've seen around that the dual sim version is worse for rooting for some reason??? Also I know that the T-Mobile variant in the US has root, and it's not looking too well for the other US variants, so do you guys think the H990 has any hope for root in the future? I'd consider buying the T-Mobile version simply because it already has root and the development for it looks like it's really picking up, however it's not really compatible with the bands here in Australia. Don't international versions usually have an unlocked bootloader etc? I'm just trying to read up and understand as much as I can before I make a decision for buying this phone or not, I'm really into rooting and custom roms and stuff, been having fun with my Samsung S4 for years and I really don't want to give that up. The other phone that i was considering was the S7 Edge, which is more clearcut as to if it has root or not.

Did you have any luck with v20 ,as it seems to be best overall in specs usability otg band just seems to be issues of root for h990ds and I am a noob.
