[FIRMWARE][MT7-L09] Huawei Ascend Mate 7 - B137SP03 - Ascend Mate 7 General

There is a new OTA Update for international version of Ascend Mate 7:
Firmware B137SP03
It seems to be a performance update with optimized stability for system and while roaming.
Base is still Android 4.4.2 and EMUI 3.0.
First Impression is a better network connection, espacially with 4G.
Source and download: http://www.huaweiblog.de/huawei/firmwareupdate-b137-fuer-mate-7-ota/

Updated to this about a week ago. A few cosmetic tweaks (call screen, status/navbar) but the biggest seems to be 1080p play back on YouTube. No idea about 4g as we are a month or so away from getting it here.

Is this update for the ALL the MT7-L09 versions (all European Countries)??
The file is 65mb only...how to use it?? DLOAD+3buttons?? Normal Update??
I don' t think it could work...file is too small (not complete ROM).

@tuddu
It's just the OTA update file (B127 -> B137SP03).
So you need to have B127 installed. Then put the "update.zip" in dload folder (exteranl SD) and install by local update.

Can I update from b130?or must update from b127?

Reading translation (thanks Google it's all clear
"... Furthermore, we will of course try the full version of firmware B137 for you to download to make available. Until then, we can provide you the update.zip available. It is the downloaded OTA update, which we have extracted. This is update.zip for the update process of the firmware B127 to the new firmware suitable B137SP03. Who another firmware installed, should start at the latest official firmware B127 update.
By itself to perform the update, you must download the update.zip and you just copy them into the folder dload on the external memory card; the update.zip may not be unpacked! "...

Tried myself MT7-L09 from B130... doesn't work...as indicated in the link... Must have 127 in order to update...

Well when ppl been saying you need to be on 127 so I downgraded checked OTA and nothing ..
Downloaded update.zip from first post and installed as usual dload SD card .. local up etc..
But after that boot animation become laggy from weird reason .. so I flashed 127 back and boot anim. lag still persisted..
So I downgraded to beginning B120 .. then all was great.. upgraded to 121 all good then up to 127 all perfect then I SKIPPED 130 and upped B137SP03 from 127 ..
All perfect..
Flashed/Rooted CWM SuperSU v2.46.zip
Flashed stock recovery back

Thank you Simona. I trust I'll remain on 130 for the moment... Too much troubles to install 133 in that way.
Thank you anyway.

first you must flash stock boot then copy dload folder to phone and use three button method or the force update; remember to backup before coz this method erases the phone.
Do you need to have an unlocked bootloader to install this update?
I am running stock B127 firmware on my MT7-L09 without root and I keep getting errors when I try and install this through Updater and the three button method
No you don't need to have an unlocked bootloader to install the B137-SP03 update. Try to make it through local update by downloading the OTA zip file (leave it as ZIP file and don't extract), create a dload folder under your External SD card and copy the zip file under that folder. Go to settings Updater and select Local update. This method doesn't do a factory reset and don't erase anything but still make backup of your important data before proceeding through the Updater..

Thanks for the reply!
I followed those steps exactly, for both the OTA update.zip and the full firmware .zip from this thread, and both times I get a "Failed" error in the local update, and the update.zip gets deleted.
Is it possible that my (Vodafone Australia) version of the Mate 7 is incompatible with these updates because of baseband version or something? I've taken a screenshot of my 'about phone' screen below:
http://imgur.com/XzNg6WP
@chongo_au I believe you are right because I didn't see before your firmware version B127-SP02 on MT7-L09. I did a search on the net and couldn't find any information about your current firmware version, except that there is a firmware with that same version (B127-SP02) for the MT7-L10 with EMUI 2.3! So I believe you have a very specific operator firmware release that is incompatible with the B137-SP03 upgrade..

LOL :good: I'm gonna go back to the Asian B137 kitkat as I'm running the European version of B317 at the moment and upgrade from there, I'll see how it goes.
Downloading!
Installed, and works fine, only one problem with root, kingroot 4.5.2 not work
Any way to root with this version ?
Guys, there already is a thread on this topic. @alucine: there are numerous threads on that topic as well. Just exercise your fingers a little and do a search
It's not necessary to downgrade to an official firmware. Local update with B324 works fine with B317 installed before.

Its easier and better imo to flash the complete rom as a local update and perform a factory afterwards then waiting for an OTA. I flashed L over the B145 version and i have no issues at all.
I can flash this on the rom erykine 1.1.0?

No, only with a non modified stock Rom.
Do you have the snow notifications option by swiping down fingerprint id? It was on beta but not now. Wasn't working on beta through..

it's work!
I try to unzip the update.zip first. Then just copy "dload" folder within UPDATE.APP inside to MICROSD. Then try to do the Normal Upgrade by the following steps :
Press menu key to choose Settings->Updater->Menu->Local upgrade->Confirm->Upgrade to start the upgrade.
It's work.

Extract the files...
Then put the update.app file in folder named dload and copy that to your local storage..
After that, power off your device and then hold vol+, vol-and power key for atleast 10 seconds..
Then, the phone should start in installation mode..
Note: Check the update.app file size.. If its gratee than 2GB them the above process should work. If its less than you can do it by OTA...

amangeek, being a rooted phone, I don't think that is a wise choice. Unroot first, & then perhaps yes.
----------------------
Anyway RautMike, if you have done as above & everything is fine - well, great.
If you haven't attempted yet, do as advised in these threads instead - similar situations, so apply the same principle:
How to upgrade Huawei P8 lite [rooted+twrp]
[P8Lite] Twrp + official update
I couldn't find the full version of C432B188 firmware to download, which is required to extract the recovery file(s) needed. So, if you cannot either, you can extract the necessary file(s) from B170 (one firmware before) - the full stock rom for B170 can be downloaded from here directly via Huawei's servers.

Did you not read the threads I posted? Just follow them - no TWRP needs to be used in those methods.
Doing it that way you'll lose root, so after updating to Marshmallow you will need to re-root by reinstalling TWRP (for Marshmallow) & SuperSu: TUTORIAL - Huawei P8 Lite Android 6.0 Marshmallow B574 Root

Yes, you're right - I forgot about that!
You can get it from here perhaps: Install TWRP Recovery, Backup Full System, Android Rooting and Recovery Back to Stock (works on both Android 5/6 + L21/L23 models)
If that doesn't work, a 'forced' update does apparently (could be risky though, so make a full nandroid backup with TWRP before attempting): [INTERESTING] Updating system while rooted
Also, according to the op, "When you install update by this method, you lose TWRP, root access and all what you have flashed by TWRP."
Alright, thanks, before i flash the stock recovery, how should i make an backup? I already have one of system that i made with twrp, is that enough?
Oh, anyways, all good Thank you very much, i just flashed the stock recovery with no problems, so happy lol, thanks again!

I can't update to android 6.0

I have just bought a Huawei P8 Lite Dual Sim (Build number: ALE-L21C432B210) and I've been trying to update it to Android 6 using the files provided on huawei's site. The problem is that every time I try I get an error screen that says Software Install Failed and it gives me a link to huawei's site (This link in particular: emui.com/emotiondownload.php?mod=restore [sorry I cant post any links yet]) I'm getting kinda desperate since I don't know if it's my build number or what (searching for it gave no results) and every guide I've found doesn't mention my B210 device. I am stuck on Huawei's terrible skin of 5.0.1 (EMUI 3.1). Please someone help me.

Let me ask you, did you have the same problem as me, it gave you "Software install failed" before you did this? To me, any (compatible) upgrades I try to do, is unsuccessful.

Update to B560 worked fine for me. Get the update from here http://huaweip8lite.blogspot.gr/2016/03/firmwarehuawei-p8-liteale-l21-official.html?m=1, extract update.app and put that in the dload folder. Pretty simple

Let's take this from the start: I was on B204 (Lollipop). I was instructed to go to B170 and then update to B560.
Trying to go to B170 got me a "Software install failed" message, presumably because I had a greater version. So I downloaded the file for B560, crossed my fingers and did local update through settings. It worked. I was finally on Marshmallow. After that, the phone did an OTA to B574.
I'm not responsible if anything goes wrong, but I'm fairly confident what I did should work here. Good luck

I don't think that's needed. Try a Marshmallow build directly

Yes i have. So after downloading may different firmwares, i understand that solution and its work.
You get error "Software install failed" because huawei say to you that they dont have an update that supports my build precisely ALE-L21C432B210.
When you wipe all through twrp and put desirous firmware in your sd card and go to installation screen through combination of key vol up and down with power key, you can install whatever version you want,
because are you working clean install through huawei update screen, not an update.
I hope I have explained a little.
I made a mistake that I installed version for single sim and not for dual sim. But it when I get some time, but regardless of that, everything works just fine, and with mm 6 a got about 4:30-5h OST

What is twrp? Could you be a little bit more specific in your guide? I would love to try your method out.
