Besides being much harder to follow than the earlier guide, this guide is prettly limited in its usefulness until it tells how to build from cyanogenmod rather than aosp.

Porting N7100 ROMS To N7105

Hello Friends. Misery Is Over For N7105 Rom Community.
I found a easy method (very very easy) of porting n7100 roms to n7105.
i need a n7105 user to help me. i don't have n7105.
so please someone follow my this guide
and sent me the mounts file.
i may reply late but don't worry i will reply.
and mods please do't move this thread
You should be able to get all info via downloading one of the roms here. In aroma script
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
I'm keen to help in any way but its my understanding that the mount points (if your referring to partitions) are the same between the n7100 and the n7105. But I could easily be wrong
Sent from my GT-N7105T using xda premium
You can port though by adding the lib files that madmack suggested in his ATT thread and then just replace the modem, kernel and CSC with the one for the n7105
Is this method any easier or?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2
That method gives phone FCs and sim unlock popups
To the OP, i would like to help you but unfortunetly i don't have a linux box.
It doesn't if you use the correct CSC files, along with the help of turilo from the att section I had a fully working omega 10 before I moved to cm 10.1
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Or can you at least share your porting idea with us? To see if we can make it work! Sharing is caring...

I had the kernel and modem added, but nota the csc files. Can you give us some pointers to the csc files we need to change?
Thanks

Place it in the correct sections and we won't need to. Are you asking a question or are you developing something?
Hey all,
I am really keen to see this work.
I am not a dev by any means, but I would really like to help if I can.
In the Galaxy Note II Android Development section there are a whole heap of ROMs but they are all for the N7100. Go to N7105 Android Development section and there are only a couple ROMs there! I upgraded from the Galaxy Nexus where there is an abundant supply of ROMs, but it looks like that too is the case for the N7100 but not mine!
Can we get something going where we list what works or what doesn't? Or anything really, just to get some more movement with this?
I found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008
Gonna give that tut a go and see how I go. If it's possible to port ROMs from LG to Samsung, then it shouldn't be too difficult to port one GN2 ROM to another GN2.
Hello, I want to offer my help if I can, I use a 7105. But my English is really bad, so I'm perhaps not the real appropriate person to help but i propose.

[REQ] rooted ROM of JOP40G?

AW: [REQ] rooted ROM of JOP40G?
I know it. I just don't wanna install oracle with Ubuntu and dsixda kitchen plus the files for N4 and so on just to create one build of a rooted stock ROM. I know there are some folks with Linux on their desktop and better knowledge then me (btw I can actually build ROMs which isn't that hard) but I don't wanna install something which will be uninstalled some hours later
Hope you understand my meanings better now.

[Req] Stock 4.4.2 port

Hello S2 lovers. Today I managed to get my hands on the note 2 4.4.2 and I began the biggest project : Porting 4.4.2 Touchwizz ROM. So I have a unfinished varyant of it... My problem is that I don't have Ubuntu and I can't decompile kernal and recompile it... So here is my request : I need someone who knows how to edit a kernal and who has Ubuntu to help me with the ROM... Also , if we manage to make a bootable version I need a name for the ROM . And I want you to think at a name.
Thanks in advance
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The kernel is the easy part, I can take care of that for you.
The question is how you will make it boot as framework, libs etc need probably a lot of changes
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
That's a little thing... Our goal is to make a bootable version... Glitches will be solved after

Is the kernel the more easy part? It would be excellent, if you could make it as soon as possible. :good:
Share the kernel from your 4.4.2 rom and i will look into it.
But here is a good tip: use a CM11 kernel from s2 and change the framework, libs etc. Trust me to make it boot you dont need to focus that much on kernel but more on the files in the rom. So start by porting, i am sure you will get bootloop in first attemt so adb a logcat and take it from there. I sure hope you can adb.

Compiling CM11 for SM-T230NU

Hey guys its troy here and this thread is to focus on getting a custom rom or Cm11 rom on this device (SM-T230NU). What I have so far is two devices that run a Marvell processor which is a samsung galaxy tab 3 7.0 and Nvidia Shield tablet. Now I'm trying to look for the one that's closer to this devices specs. After that I will try looking for their source and see if I can compile a custom rom. It would be really helpful if a dev can help me out with this along with you guys. So who's ready to have CM11.

the kernel source is required to build boot.img and recovery.img
you have a huge amount of reading to do. the galaxy tab 3 device forums have a large amount of information
in general and q&a to get you up and running.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3
specifically this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2792872 to gain an understanding of the process
and this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2812791
especially page 2 look for @Restl3ss posts, he's the one who got me set right.
when you have a question start by searching and reading, then ask your question, and while you wait for an answer
which you may or may not get, continue searching and reading.
i started a full cherry noob in like april or may and have learned alot, just to give you an idea of what your own
process of growth and learning may look like. :good:

the kernel config is almost the same. you can use it for stock and custom roms and of course for custom recoveries.

android as you and i know it is 32 bit so you will be building a 32 system.
But to build android you require a 64-bit system [linux/mac] you just do.
However you do not need a 64 bit system to compile kernels.
search the difference between 32bit and 64bit systems and almost all questions you have on that subject will be answered.
Except maybe this one....
while you can only run 32bit applications/code/toolchains etc. on a 32 bit system
you can run both 32bit and 64bit stuff on a 64bit system.
if you are compiling code on a 32bit system you need a 32bit compiler/toolchain
if you are compiling an android kernel [32bit] on a 64 bit system you can use a 32bit or 64bit toolchain
as you will be cross-compiling, meaning compiling code on one type of machine/system [host] x86 or x86_64 [architecture]
to run on another type of machine/system [target] - 32bit - arm [architecture]
i would suggest using the 32bit toolchain.
