Hey guys,
a while ago i rooted my d802 and flashed some roms and my experience was that my batterlife was worsen. So i tried to flash official kdz firmware in order to unroot my phone.
What i did was verry simple, flash the kdz and factory reset the whole device. But then i went back to download mode to see if i still had root. to my suprise it showd this (kdz 220b, userB99- rooted)
my question is why is it still rooted ?

Let me know, did you download KDZ ROM from http://lg-firmware-rom.com ?
You have to enter your IMEI to get you download link. It's a kdz file with around 1.6 Gigabytes.
Right?

It doesn't make sense!
Stocks KDZ will make your phone like first day and repartition all partitions.
CES mode should works and Its delete all of your files.
BTW, It's just way I know to back to completely stock ROM.
Try again maybe works.

i totally agree with you, but i already tried more then once.
I remeber that around 3 months ago i flashed an official kdz file and i tried to install root and recovery but it kept failing, so i installed an app called autrec and this app fixed everything .
Could this thing cause the problem ?

No, autorec just install recovery.
LG flash tools 2014 flash lg's recovery from KDZ file.

Hello abati.
The "rooted" tag in download mode is an error by LG, when they updated the LG G2 to KitKat. You can manually replace some files (rct.config), but even though it shows ROOTED in download mode, it isn't unless you manually rooted it after flashing a kdz.
If you're thinking of sending the phone in for a repair, I recall hearing that it doesn't have any effect at all.
But if it really bothers you that much you can flash a Jelly Bean ROM kdz (4.2.2) and UNROOTED will appear in dowload mode or just replace the files. But it has no practical value since your phone is not rooted.
Hope this helps!

It will change make sure you download and flash the correct model and storage (16 GB or 32 GB).
Also, it's easier to press thanks button than to say thanks - unless you're out of thanks for today, like I am

hey m8 what you said is right, i flashed a kdz (D80210A_00) but it acted strangely cuz it kept rebooting and I then shutdown the phone with a combination of the buttons and then powered on but it kept rebooting. eventualy i checked in the download mode and there it said unrooted in white text.
eventualy i went back to kdz (D80220H_00) kitkat rom, and i factory reset everything and downloaded root checker, root checker says LG g2 device is not rooted. But when i went back to download mode and just see what it said ^^
It says rooted men -_- realy disturbing
did LG do this intentialy ? cuz if i am going to send tis device for repair the chance is very high that they will charge me the cost for the repair because my phone shows that i rooted.
how should i deal with this

I suggest installing the Stock Jelly Bean .kdz file for your device, and then upgrading to KitKat ONLY via OTA.

But when i flashh jb kdz it keeps rebooting, totally nonsense if you ask me, but when i hold power and volume down for a couple sec. then the phone shuts down, after that i pressed the power butten but it still kept rebooting. I was able to enter the download mode and see for my self that it showed that it was not rooted, but besides that the phone always keeps rebooting.
After I flashed the kdz based on kitkat, i did not had anny problem at all, except that download mode shows that im rooted when in realtime its not.

Hello again. Sorry for the delay, was busy reading!
After flashing a jelly bean KDZ you need to perform a hard reset if it bootloops.
Just press and hold volume down and power button till lg logo pops up, then release the buttons and then immediately press and hold volume down and power button again. Then follow the instructions.
If you flashed the correct file, you'll get an OTA update to kitkat
.

[Q] Please HELP!!! L7-P705 keeps rebooting after unlocking bootloader

Someone please help!
I have a LG Optimus L7 P705g, on v10C stock rom, rooted according to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906133
Then I tried to unlock bootloader and install cwm recovery following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664322
I tried both v1 and v2 of the L7CWM archive. But the phone keeps rebooting about 2 minutes after power on.
No matter I boot normally, or boot into cwm recovery, it still restarts about 2 minutes in.
It's driving me crazy. Can somebody give me some pointer in how to resolve this constant reboot situation?
I believe I followed all the instructions provided with the above threads, and tried flashing both v1 and v2 a few times.
Thanks in advance!

ok, you need to do this.
First, follow this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31828740&postcount=1191 to flash the ROM from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2176430 this rom is already rooted, and includes CWM and unlocked bootloader, so you shouldn't have any problems to flash any other ROM after that one.
and second, you need to learn to search on the forum, and read more before asking already solved issues.
good luck

Thanks for your quick reply! Actually, I'm a little hesitant to use kdz updater, as I've read some posts saying that even after they flash the stock kdz, the phone was in an even worse situation.
Since I can still boot into cwm recovery (I have a 2-minute time frame before the phone restarts itself), should I do a wipe cache or something? Will it help?
Flashing the whole thing is my last resort.

yes, I've also read that some people have problems after flashin kdz....but i dont know why, KDZ flashing is usually the best way to make sure your phone is back to a "perfect" working state, since it restores everything to the way it should be, and in most situations is the only way to unbrick the phone.
I can't tell you how many times I had to use KDZ updater to restore my phone after messing with it, im not a developer but i do a lot of experiments with my phone trying to make it work better, and most of the times it end totally bricked, and every time KDZ updater saves my ass. Some time ago i was trying to modify the stock rom myself, and I used to flash via KDZ my phone at least twice a day....so for me is pretty safe to use

I tried to read as many posts as possible about using the L7CWM archive to unlock bootloader and CWM recovery before actually doing it. People with P700 and P705 both reported success. I don't know what I did wrong. I am so frustrated...
The ROM you pointed me to get is for P700, does it matter? (Mine is P705). Or should I use my stock rom kdz to test it out first?
Also the two links that you gave me have different phone mode setting in the KDZ updater, one set as EMERGENCY, the other one set as DIAG. Which one should I use?
Thanks again!
Hope there is an easier way than using the KDZ updater... :fingers-crossed:

yep, it's for P700, but other than NFC, there's no difference...i dont recomend to use that rom for every day because it will drain your battery because of the NFC. but since it comes already rooted and unlocked, its an excelent base to make sure everything is well installed, after that you should be able to enter into recovery without problems, and then you can flash a ROM for P705. Personally I suggest you to try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472479 it's working very good for me, and have specific kernel to p705
Of course you can try with stock kdz for p705, but hen you will have to repeat the process with L7CWM and chances are that something goes wrong again.
And I gave you the link that use EMERGENCY because it is the way I use to flash a KDZ, you can try to follow tutorial with DIAG option, but I haven't test it myself, and I would never recommend something I haven't tested before. Also because you said your phone reboots every two minutes, and I think DIAG option needs the phone to be ON while flashing, in EMERGENCY option, the phone will never turn off untill you unplug the cable.

I read another post about flashing the Homero's v10K rooted KDZ that you mentioned into a North American P705, and that made the phone unbootable.
But fortunately, I managed to get a stock bootloader from a friend's North American P705 and push it into my phone. This did the trick, my phone didn't have the boot loop anymore.
Then, I upgraded the stock firmware to v20A via LG's mobile support tool. At this version (JB as opposed to ICS), I tried to push the cracked bootloader into the phone again. This time, everything was all right, no boot loop! So I flashed the CWM recovery, and everything was good.
I just tested out Szymel's modded stock rom v20E with OC 1305Mhz, seems pretty good!
Now I have a lot of ROM choices to test out.
Anyway, thanks so much for your help and suggestions!

Go back to 100% STOCK from 4.4.2!!!

Since so many people have asked if they can go back to 4.2.2 from using my 4.4.2 update thread :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2692505
YES YES YES you CAN go back to STOCK 100%, the day it came out of the box 4.2.2 if you try out the 4.4.2 update I shared.
This is the Official direct from LG update/return to stock you'll be doing.
Heres how:
Make sure your usb drivers are installed.
Make sure you backup EVERYTHING you want to keep as this will wipe your LG G Pad V500 completely.
Now
Make sure your G Pad is ON, and plugged into your PC and It is plugged in with LG Software mode **NOT connected in "charge tablet" or "Media sync (MTP)".
This will ONLY work in LG Software mode.
Download this:
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407582419
Install it and right click on it and Run As Administrator, just to be safe.
Open it and once you get to the screen click OK at the bottom...
The next screen will say "Your device has the latest software available..."
Ignore this.
Click on OPTIONS in the top right...select "Upgrade Recovery" give a few seconds to load and it's going to do it's thing
--It's going to ask you for 2 things: 1st line "LG V500" or "LGV500" or "V500" I believe I used "LGV500" and the 2nd line goes your serial number to your LG G Pad, it's on your box, OR the sticker on the back at the bottom of your tablet or I am sure there is an app or another way to get that for you, I have my box.
Now just sit and let it do it's thing and it will flash and "update" your LG G Pad V500 back to 4.2.2 stock, with the stock 4.2.2 bootloader.
You can root, use the Loki exploit, add recovery or whatever your heart desires.
((NOW GO CHECK OUT THE 4.4.2 update I posted and see for yourself if the 4.4.2 update was worth the wait, since you now know you can indeed go back to stock 4.2.2 so easily))
****IF you are stuck in an LG logo bootloop, do the following:
--HOLD the power button for up to 30 seconds until your tablet is OFF completely.
Now press and hold the power & volume down button
As soon as the LG logo shows up, release the power button ONLY, keep holding Volume Down.
While holding Volume down press and hold the Power Button & Volume UP.
You should be now holding all 3 buttons.
The Factory Reset Screen should appear, now let go of the buttons.
Press the power button to continue.
Press the power button again to confirm if you’re sure you wish to continue with the reset and press power a 3rd time.
Voila.
You're back to stock 4.2.2 100% and YES you can use the Loki exploit again! As this does go back to the 4.2.2 bootloader
GO ROOT and do your thing.
I used this method when I originally downgraded from the leak. The problem here that I've been asking all over the place is where is the file stored that is downloaded? This method will become obsolete without it because this tool will just download the kk update when it's released. The tool downloads and flashes the 'latest' firmware.
I've looked everywhere on my computer looking for the 1.5gb file that this tool downloads (currently 4.2.2) and I just can't find it....

It's doing the same for me
As predicted, this doesn't work anymore since it's downloading and re flashing KitKat. Is there a work-arround to stop it from downloading and feed it the 4.2.2. flash file?
I want to revert back to 4.2.2 but the guides i've seen so far seem complicated. This one is simple but don't work anymore.
Yes, it is possible. I did it two days ago following an italian guide, through google translate. I would post the link but unfortunatelly I'm not allowed, having less than 10 posts.
But answer me this: why do you wanna go back to 4.2.2? The reason I'm asking is because, after I downgraded and tried various ROMs, I reverted back to KitKat in a matter of hours.

this is required so one can retain loki and custom recovery patched in the latest bootloader , so the ideal way would be to
1. get to 4.2.2
2. Root
3. TWRP recovery
4. Flash 4.4.2 official zip via recovery thus retaining recovery and the loki exploit
You can also use the loki exploit, obtain root and then flash a custom recovery AFTER upgrading to 4.4.2. I know this because I did it.
I also tried it running official 4.4.2 but it seems like since there is 4.4.2 officially available it just reflashes the same system.
LINK TO UPDATED PROCEDURE:
Since LG has put the 4.4.2 image on their servers, factory restore now gets you a version without the exploits required to flash a custom recovery. The procedure in post #1 no longer reverts to 4.2.2.
Fortunately, there is another thread that discusses a workaround to this. If you need to flash a 4.4.2 device back to 4.2.2 so you can flash a custom recovery (and in order to have access to third-party ROMs), please see this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53140473&postcount=14
I hope this helps.
After updating my g pad to 4.4.2 the front camera stopped working. Android can't recognize it anymore so I'am downgrading to 4.2.2
Can't root!
Hello everyone,
I just got the LG G Pad 8.3 couple weeks ago. I've never been able to own an Android device that I didn't flash a custom rom on. I am currently trying to root this tablet, however, cannot do it for the life of me!
I've tried several guides on XDA but always end up with it not working. First issue I'm dealing with is that I cannot boot into the stock recovery. My recovery doesn't have the option to load from ADB. So, that's out of the question.
Following the guide within this thread leads me to the fact that I cannot go into "Software Mode"!!!
Please help me!
The specs on this tablet are the following:
Model number: CK810 4G :cyclops:
Android Version: 4.4.2
Software Version: VK81022B
Kernel version: 3.4.0
I cant open b2capp - it's showing- check your internet connection. But I'm all the time on wifi, I hv no idea what's happend.

For those looking for 4.2.2 or flashing their own KDZ. this has worked for me also as suggested here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55415374&postcount=8
The LG Flash Tool 2014 is a modified flash tool that simply works without connecting to the network or utilize LG's Mobile Support:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
1. Download LG Flash Tool 2014 and LG Drivers
2. Put the KDZ you desire.
3. Set "Select Type" to CDMA (I think it doesn't really matter)
3. Set Phone Mode to: EMERGENCY
4. Click CSE Flash for complete wipe or Normal Mode. (I choose CSE but haven't tested Normal Mode)
5. Click the "START" Button on next screen.
6. Press "OK" (I've also choose English as language)

[Q] LG G2 bricked and can't flash stock firmware!

So I'm really into Android developing, I'm always flashing and installing etc, but I got a problem now.
Phone information
LG G2 D802
Rooted
TWRP Recovery 2.7.0.0
Was running 4.4.2, found a kdz file on the internet and flashed it (no regular update from my phone)
What happenedI actually did something stupid, I received an application update from the LG Download Center (or whatever it's called) on my phone and clicked on it. I was planning on flashing Android 4.4.2 again because my firmware was not stable, and I thought this update could help me.
But no, after it finished downloading, I automatically booted into recovery.
What I didSo I tried to reboot and enter my OS, but unfortunately, I was stuck in recovery.
I did everything I could, wiping (Dalvik) cache, factory reset, flashed a new rom, restored Nandroid backup, but no, every time I booted, I got back into recovery again.
I only saw 1 option left, booting into download mode and flashing a new firmware.
I found the Netherlands 16GB kdz file for Android 4.4.2 (because I had a French one first), the one I was looking for.
Looked all over the internet, and all guides pointed me to this guide.
Tried it, but I got multiple errors, one of them was that my phone was not connected while I was at 15% of the flash process.
What happenedAfter that first flashing process, I booted up, but got a Security Error. After the Security Error was showing for 5 seconds, my phone shut down. This is happening every time I try to boot up.
I couldn't access my recovery anymore, nothing. Edit: I can access my recovery right now, and I tried this, but when I boot up I get the Security Error again.
The big problem right now is the Security Error! How do I bypass that?
So can someone please help me out!
Several phones/tablets of mine bricked and I always found a way to get out of it, but not this time, unfortunately...
Have you tried this

Yes, I actually have. Didn't mention it, but after I did that I booted and got an LG logo and below it was a text that said 'Security Error' After like 5 seconds the security error goes away and my phone shuts down. I can only enter download mode right now.
I'll edit my first post with this info.
Thanks for the help though!
Edit: I find a way to access my recovery again because at first I couldn't but I figured out that the code in the thread you linked was a bit different than the code I entered at first.
So I used the code you gave me, but now I get the Security Error again!
Hi mate, just like you i downloaded that damn OTA today and messed up my phone, but in my case was because i had totally forgotten it was rooted and had custom recovery installed :silly::silly::silly::silly:
I followed this tutorial to fix the boot secure error http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 and it worked like a charm except for download mode wasn't working at all.
After doing some research i found this post http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ricked-lg-g2-stuck-twrp-no-download-mode.html and got download mode (apparently) working again but Windows didn't recognize it at all so i couldn't use it to flash the .kdz stock firmware.
In the end i just flashed a custom aosp rom and got my phone back to life but the download mode issue it's still there and it's bothering me quite a lot.
Any suggestion is welcome.
EDIT: Don't download the recovery from the post, instead look for the latest version (2.7.0.0) because the one posted there (2.6.3.2) might corrupt your partitions

Thanks! But does my internal storage get whiped? Will all my pictures etc. be gone?
And the first thred removes the security error right? And after that I can just boot into recovery mode (I can boot in recovery btw) and flash a new rom? Just wanted to know this so I don't go through all that trouble for nothing
Edit: You know I can enter both download and recovery mode right?

Nope internal SD remains intact, basically what you'll be doing is pushing the right files into the system partitions and yes, in theory you should be able to flash a new rom.
Even if you can boot into recovery you should do it if you're getting that error, and after that you can just push a ROM file to flash (i'll assume you know how to do it) and btw let me know if you decide to flash a stock based rom instead of an aosp like i did.
Good luck with that :good:

I did the exact same thing because the ****ing jokers at LG / Wind labeled the phone wrong.
It's actually a D803. Yeah, despite what it says on the case.
You can find my solution in my post history here.. You need to flash a .laf file with fastboot to get your download mode re-enabled, then you can apply a stock .kdz file to bring your phone back to stock.
Then use the D803 files and no worries! You can fix this.
If you're scared, I can also recommend a respectable shop in Toronto that can fix it easy.

TWRP failed to install

nothing seems to work...
i rooted my LG g2 D801
