help with mms/text converting to mms :/ - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So here is a rundown of my issue,
Im using the s5 tweaked base on my note 3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-t2891226
By : @g00h
Everything works great, EXCEPT the messege app.
And normally id just switch to hangouts or something, but then i cant use my gear
The issue is in the message app, if you scroll down the features it says it was tweaked
And something about disabled sms to mms converting
This is causing me to only send texts 160 chars or less, any bigger and it is not received.
I can send mms (pictures ) as well as recieve them
I can recieve large texts msgs
I cannot send over 160 (where it would normally convert to mms)
How can i undo the tweaks done to this app, or how can i find a stock s5 messeges.apk
Ive looked everywhere. Someone please help, its frusterating not being able to send long texts ford business as i do very frequently.
Any help is greatly appreciated

Anyone at all?
Any advice please??

No one has annnnnnnny opinion???

HELP! - MMS on ATT

Through a series of weird events I have ended up with a gsm unlocked imagio and no VZW service any longer. No sweat I still have an auxilary line with att. I have gone through all the data settings. Destroyed the connection guardian and unblocked the server edit for arcsoft. Everything works great. Data, SMS, Sending MMS. The only issue I am running into is recieving MMS. I get the messages most of the time but they all say "Message not found". No picture, no text other than the error. MMS settings in arcsoft have been checked over and over. All the searching on the web has yielded no results. Any pro willing to help with the settings/registry tweaks required to get this up and running?
I am having this same problem I have tried about everything I could think of to get it working.
x3 on this issue. Regular text message I get no problem but MMS with pic or anything else I get "Message not Found" I can send without any issues
MMS on ATT
Same here. Very frustrating.
I am right here with you guys...same issue and all the same registry file changes made. But still yeilding the same results "Message Not Found". The one conclusion that I can assertain is that it is not opening up into the message program. The file data recieves on mine it is almost like it cant find the appropriate program to open or the file extension when recieved on the phone and points to a Verizon Specific app???
Ok since posting my last message on not being able to receive pics via mms, I have done some work on the phone and ROM-Graded to the Sense Rom and everything seems to be working fine with pic message retrieval using HTC messaging...If I go back to the Arcsoft threaded messaging mode it will not still retrieve the pics even after the ROM-Grade. So a work around if your up for it updating the ROM has helped and it also got rid of ALL the Verizon bloatware and crap too...Bonus! I have been running this way for several weeks now and it seems to really be the solution.

Disable sms to mms conversion?

On all my previous phones I could send a text message that was up to 10 sms long but now after I reach the end of 3 sms, a popup sais converting to mms and i need a data connection to send the message which is really annoying..(since it costs a lot here in belgium and my sms are all free..) Any help would be greatly appreciated . .
Nobody knows how to disable this?
i think it'd be possible to change/remove the MMS settings in the APN settings, i think i've read somewhere that removing them will have ht ephone to finally send as text.
however don't take my word on it, i'm playing around with it now, and i'm not too sure about the consequences this would have for incoming MMS.
You can use Handcent sms. Theres option in settings to disable converting into mms
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Someone knows if there are some option or only settings (that i can download from the market) to disable conversion to mms without install other application?
thanks
Unfortunatelly, as far as I know, this annoying "feature" cannot be modified
I have fixed it by using a modified version of the stock application available here.
mod <int name="smsToMmsTextThreshold">4</int> to <int name="smsToMmsTextThreshold">100</int> in mms.apk/res/xml/mms_config.xml
The whole tutorial is on the thread that has been linked to above
unfortunately, while that is a solution for those willing to root their phones, it isn't for those who would prefer not to. Rather than using handcent, search BigSMS in Android market. It doesn't try and take over your entire SMS system like handcent. It just offers a nice simple frontend to sending SMS. It's not an OS Fix, but it's the next best thing.
either external app or rooting

[Q] Not receiving pics and sending youtube video question

Been having this issue on and off for awhile I believe it started before I rooted and still is happening on and off. About 50 percent of the time when someone send me a text with a pic I get a broken image like the image is broken and then sometime it comes through fine. It is getting pretty annoying and being the fact that the main phone im receiving pics from is another lg g2 on the verzion network, my phone is on the att network currently running cyanogenmod 11 04/27 version, I also add this issue on the stock software and a few other roms. Also when I send a youtube video now it sends in two separate texts causing the link to be corrupted.
I have had the same problems with my G2. I never knew when it would work or not. I seemed to have permanently fixed it by downloading a 3rd party sms app to replace the stock lg messages. I settled on chomp sms but I had to play around with a few other apps.
Next I set my mms max file size to 300k ....sending and receiving through chomp sms so far has been perfect. Not one failed send or receive.
I have looked all over for a stock messages app that will do the same.

I like the way chomp looks so im going to try that, so you set your mms to 300kb? My is set up at 600kb by default. Ill try 300

Yeah it was the least intrusive. Default is 600 and I tried that but I would still miss receiving MMS and also I couldn't send. 300 would always work. It may be because I use an att mvno hence the crappy service.
Play around with the settings though. Hopefully something will work for you as it has for me.

Weird MMS Problem

Initial Notes:
Using a rooted Verizon S5 with stock KitKat ROM (NK2), but this problem also persisted on a rooted Lollipop ROM (OA8).
This problem persists on the stock messaging app as well as all messaging apps I have downloaded from the Play Store so it seems to be an issue with the phone itself. I'm currently using Chomp.
------------------------------------------------------
Problem:
For the longest time, my MMS messages would come and go at what seemed to be the most random times, but I've finally come to notice that the only way I can get an MMS (including group texts) to send or receive is if I send more than 1 at a time.
For example, if I try to send my wife a single pic, it will hang indefinitely, literally for days sometimes. However, if I send another pic to ANYONE (including myself), the pic that was 'stuck' waiting to send to my wife will then finally send.
Also, if I long-press the stuck outgoing MMS, and choose 'resend' it will usually send, but then the recipient also gets 2 copies.
I've also noticed that when the stuck MMS finally does send, I frequently RECEIVE multiple pics or group messages from friends who sent them long ago. It's as if successfully sending an MMS from my phone has somehow unlocked a stuck setting somewhere in the network, which then allows all existing MMS to send/receive.
Also, I've noticed that if I attempt to send 3 pic messages, sometimes only 2 will actually go through. If I want to send the 3rd, I have to generate a 4th pic message also to any recipient. I've gotten to the point where I just decide in order to make MMS work, I have to do one of the following:
- Send 2 pics to the intended recipient
- Send 1 pic to recipient, and then forward that same message to myself.
- Send 1 pic to recipient, and then also forward it to someone else.
So I have come to learn that I do have a work-around of sorts, but it's incredibly inconvenient, and just flat-out weird to me. So it's obvious my MMS can work on this phone, but why do I have to send them in pairs?

Concatenated SMS

Hello,
I really like my G4 Play (Amazon edition) phone with one exception. I only receive a portion of Concatenated (greater than 160 characters) SMS messages that are sent from T-mobile Iphones to my phone (also on T-mobile). I will get some, but not all. I have used my SIM in other android phones and have another T-mobile SIM in my phone and I get the same issue. From iphones from other carriers I have no problems. From Androids on T-mobile, I also have no problems. I have no problem receiving single SMS messages nor MMS messages. I have contacted T-mobile and they have been no help. I have changed some APN settings, but with no success.
I have also restored my phone to factory settings and have tried Textra also. No changes.
My question: Has anyone had any issues with concatenated SMS messages?
I am thinking about getting a replacement phone, but don't want to if this happens on a replacement phone or if there is a known fix.
Thanks.
What sms did you recieve???

I appreciate the response, but I'm not sure I understand your question.
I receive properly all SMS that are < 160 characters.
For SMS messages that are > 160 characters:
1) I will sometimes receive these and sometimes not receive these when they are from an iphone on the T-mobile network (I am also on the T-mobile network)
2) I will receive all of the the >160 SMS if:
a) they are on any other network regardless of the type of phone
b) they are on an android and on the T-mobile network
Did that answer your question?
160+ character text messages are sent as mms. try sending/receiving a picture and see what happens.

MMS messages work just fine. When my wife puts in a subject field, the long messages are turned into a MMS and always get to me.
For long SMS info see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concatenated_SMS

I have worked with T-mobile and Moto with no luck. Moto sent me a new phone (Amazon version of XT1607). I still have the same issue with not receiving long SMS messages (>160 characters) from iphones on T-mobile. These long SMS messages are concatenated SMS messages and are not MMS messages.
I'm sure that there is another Amazon G4 play person who is on Tmobile and has a Tmobile friend who can send them 5 long SMS messages to see how many get through to him/her. Can someone please try this? I have tried other SIM cards in it from my family and the same thing happens. It would be nice to see if someone else has the same issue!
I don't know what I can do but wait for the Nougat release in June. If I had know this would be an issue I wouldn't have bought the Amazon version and I could have installed another ROM.
