Yes after update there is some problem in installing recovery and rooting.
So after unlocking the bootloader do the following steps
1. Download superuser. zip and place it in your external sd-card
2. Now flash the recovery.img using fastboot
3. Now boot into recovery using "vol up+vol down+power"
4. Flash the superuser. zip
*note: please don't do normal reboot after flashing recovery because it will write the stock recovery again into recovery partition.

Enable developer mode & enter developer menu
Go to -> update CM recovery.
That was ticked by default, untick it and then flash custom recovery.

WARNING: The stock boot image has dm-verity, which prevents you from booting if you swipe to enable system modifications!
Follow YU bootloader unlocking instructions here before you begin!
Download the latest TWRP .img for your device from twrp.me.
Use the same fastboot tool you downloaded in theYU unlock instructions to flash TWRP using the command:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-x.x.x-x.img
Click to collapse
* Replace x.x.x-x with the actual version you are flashing!
Now you can either power off your phone and boot into recovery using the button combo [Volume Down] + [Power], or you can run this command in fastboot:
fastboot boot twrp-x.x.x-x.img
Click to collapse
1. At this point, you will see the TWRP splash and reach a screen asking you if you want to allow system modifications.
By swiping right, you will trigger dm-verity, and if you don't follow step 4 you will be unable to boot!
If you are going to root your device or follow the rest of these steps, then it is safe to swipe right and enable modifications.
2. Only if you want internal storage or data to work in TWRP:
Go to [Wipe] -> [Format Data] (not advanced wipe) -> type "yes".WARNING: This will wipe your internal storage, disable encryption, and factory reset your phone!
Go to [Reboot] -> [Recovery].
3. Please consider backing up your stock boot partition in TWRP before proceeding to te next steps!
4. If you want to be rooted with SuperSU:
Download the latest SuperSU by Chainfire. OR Flash through TWRP this file.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer the SuperSU zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.-or-
If you only want a bootable system partition or writable data in TWRP:
Download dm-verity and force encryption disabler.
Without exiting TWRP, transfer no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip to your device over MTP* and flash it using [Install] in TWRP.
Go to [Reboot] -> [System].
Wait 2-5 minutes for your device to finish setting itself up.
To install busybox flash through TWRP this file >>>> this is recommended.
After rebooting to TWRP it will not ask for any password.

Please help!!! Want to completely un root zuk z1

Hello,
I rooted my phone from the guidance provided here on XDA and it was very easy.. I unlocked bootlader installed TWRP recovery and now I am using custom roms such as nuclear nougat rom. Now I want to sale my phone and sadly people here in Multan, Pakistan are scared to buy a rooted phone even shops as well. So I thought is there any way to fully unroot and get this device into its stock shape with Cyanogen OS with lollipop , locked bootlader and that normal recovery which is there?
I have searched but no proper way is available, can anyone please guide me step by step or provide me a step by step link.
It would be much appreciated

That is infact true, phone gets 100 times better in every way but when i posted the ad people were like "there must be something wrong with your phone which you are not mentioning otherwise who roots this phone"
and I was like "to make it bug free and better obviously"

zuk z1 bootloader locked when twrp installed

what i messed up?
i have installed custom official cynogen14.1 rom and twrp recovery. everything was working fine.
but i messed up with bootloader. I have locked oem from fastboot mode without enabling option for oem unlocking in developer settings.
Now as my phone have custom rom and twrp installed it went into bootloop and only shows zuk logo and again restart.
What i diid till now?
i have opened backcover so that i can turn of bootloop and phone by disconecting battery.
I can enter into fastboot mode by pressing vol.+ and vol- buttons sumultaneously and connecting usb cable.
But i cannot unlock bootloader as it says unlocking bootloader not allowed. I have tried device specific commads like "fastboot -i 0x2b4c oem unlock" and "fastboot -i 0x2b4c oem unlock-go" but nothing works.
i have stock recovery image but cannot flash while bootloader is locked.
i can enter into adb sideload by following method:
by loading stock recovery by typing "fastboot boot recovery.img" (this does not work with twrp as it says signature varification failed)
and then selecting apply update >> selecting apply fron adb
this much i can do does anyone knows how to recover from such a state.
please help me or my phone will be a waste.
is there any way to install stock recovery i think phone will boot properly if i managed to install stock recovery.
