[XT1068] How to update 21.11.14 to Lollipop easy and without unlocking bootloader - G 2014 General

Hi guys,
I was with 21.11.14 and many of You know that there is no update for this version yet. So what i did was simply update my phone to 21.11.23 and then Lollipop update was available.
This is tested on retEU, so i don't know if it will work on other versions!
If someone test with other versions (retin, retde, redgb) i will put the result here.
21.11.14.titan_retde.retdeall.en.DE retde - tested and not working
1. Download the update from here and save it to the internal phone memory
2. Delete everything in file name after ".zip"
3. Turn off your phone
4. Press Power button + Volume Down and hold it for 5 seconds
5. In the menu go to "Recovery" by pressing Volume Down
6. Press Volume up
7. When you see Android robot on the screen hold Volume Up for 5 seconds and then press Power button
8. Choose "apply update from sdcard" and choose the update
9. After the update check for the Lollipop update manually via Settings and if you still don't get it just update it manually with the same method or whatever method you want...

Thank you,
unfortunately with my German version and your instructions I wasn't able to update to 21.14.23
(21.11.14.titan_retde.retdeall.en.DE retde).
...so I guess Lollipop has to wait :crying:

Youe have to delete everything in the file name after the ".zip" -> ''delta-ota-Blur_Version.21.11.14-21.11.23.titan_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip"
BTW, after rebooting I captured the OTA! :fingers-crossed: it's taking forever to download though... 318minutes to complete

I updated the first post to let people know that this metod it's not working with retde sadly...

yes its the firmware that is currently taking AGES to arrive OTA,
it's untouched stock motorola firmware
SO FUTURE OTA WILL WORK
just using fastboot to install without any fingerprint check
its only for xt1068 dual sim dual standby
and you will lose any regionalism and be converted to the Global firmware
WORKING ON
Retgb
Reteu
Retin
should work on Retde
DOES NOT work on Brazilian XT1068 ( due to modem difference)

thank u very much! im finally on lollipop hehe (reteu)

@Lenks
There was one . mark that I didn't remove =D
Now updating over 30 mins :S

it takes time

21.11.14.titan_retde.retdeall.en.DE retde - still not working even after deleting everything in the file name after ".zip" (I already done that from the beginning, but i've double checked).
However, Norwich's suggested firmware worked for me, so Thanx! :victory:

[XT1058] Android 5.1 link

Hello,
I've found a link to the supposedly OTA, but it didn't work with the same method for the 5.0.2, I mean copying to the memory of the phone and trying to update from the settings. I don't know if it is really the 5.1 OTA but feel free to give it a try. I've found it on a comment in a brasilian site: http://www.androidpit.com.br/moto-x-android-update. Goto the Confirmed Android 5.1 thread, around page 16, there is a mega link of a nadroid backup of 5.1 Brazil for twrp. Download it, extract it to the TWRP/backup folder, boot to recovery, backup your present ROM. Then restore the downloaded nandroid, wipe data, cache, and davlik cache only, reboot into system, profit. This way gpt and boot partitions remained in touched, and no need to revert to Brazilian KitKat, then to 5.0.2, then to 5.1 painful process.

You do not need to be rooted for this. You must have unlocked boot loader though because you need twrp
Oh I'm rooted matter of fact I'm on the N5X based ROM and its really Good..and I will extract and put inside the backup folder

I was wondering the same thing
Tested on my XT1058, worked like a charm! No need to mess with bootloader, fastboot nor any other tool... Download, add to memory, install, be happy!
Just as other OTA zips...
Ah, remember to install 5.0.2 OTA before this, link can be found on other threads...

Please don't! Many people bricked the device when trying to roll back from 5.X... If you install the soak test, it is better to wait for the final OTA update...
How to update
Yesterday I found out why in some cases when you place the file in the internal memory it doesn't work, you need to follow the updates sequence to make it work.
So from 4.4.4 you update to 5.0.2 (AKA .31):
Blur_Version.221.41.31.ghost_row.Brasil.en.BR
Then you apply this small patch that still 5.0.2 (AKA .38):
Blur_Version.221.41.38.ghost_row.Brasil.en.BR
And finally you apply the update to 5.1 (AKA .2)
Blur_Version.222.21.2.ghost_row.Brasil.en.BR
Happy flashing.
Kind regards,
Johnny

Yes. All OTA's have been incremental so far, and have a pre-flash validation check to ensure your phone is on the correct level, and if your phone isn't, it wont flash.
It doesn't surprise me that this follows that pattern especially based on its size

What will happen with the official 5.1 release then? They never released an official 5.0.2, so how can they expect people to be upgrading from 5.0.2?

Thanks a lot for the kind warning. After posting this comment I went through many other posts, especially the one by KidJoe. Chances are quite real that one can hard-brick his device by downgrading then upgrading through OTA again.

For those were invited to the MFN Test or Soak, Moto has their IMEI, knows what is on their phone, and will push them the appropriate update to 5.1 final, hence this file's preflash check looking for a particular 5.02. Since we know of two different 5.02 versions (one for the Brazil xt1058 and one for the XT1053), there will be at least two different 5.1 versions that Moto will push to those on the MFN test/soak list.
For the those NOT invited, as in the past Moto will likely compile and push a 4.4.4 -> 5.1 OTA zip for each carrier/model which will have a preflash check looking for the 4.4.4 for the particular carrier/model.
For those that manually applied the 5.x leaks because they were NOT invited to the MFN test/soak, Moto will NOT have their IMEI to push a special version, they will be off stock 4.4.4, and so any 5.1 push from the carrier/moto will fail to install due to the preflash check. They'll either need to revert to 4.4.4 (where GPT.BIN/Motoboot.img have been the cause of many bricks in the past when downgrading, so its expected to continue to be risky going forward), or wait for a leak of the OTA zip they need, or wait for a leak of the 5.1 SBF for their carrier/model.
That is why some suggested if you're not part of the MFN invites, you should wait on installing the 5.x leaks.

Follow this guide for flashing firmware thanks to @Shawn5162 (for original script) and @Harsh.gundecha for this script
AUTO INSTALL 6.0 SCRIPT/AUTO RESTORE SCRIPT ###
1) extract thE contents of this (4uT0_r35t0r3_t0_6.0.zip) zip and the 6.0 fastboot flashable zip in a empty folder.
2) turn the phone up, turn on USB debugging.
3) connect the phone and run "Auto Restore Script.bat"
now your phone will boot to bootloader and flashing will start.
##Some useful info.:-##
1) if flashing stucks at any of the point do no disconnect instead let fastboot show error message and reboot again to bootloader and then again launch "Auto Restore Script.bat".
2) if phone stucks on bootlogo keep power button pressed to restart booting and done.
Thank You
No blames if anything goes wrong but will try my best if any.

How do i upgrade my new P8lite with 5.0.1 to the lastest?

Unlike every other Android device i've had this one does not seem to update through OTA. At least not that i can seem to figure out. It is currently running Android 5.0.1 and from what i can read it should be able to get Android 6.0. But if i go to About and search for updates, nothing is found.
It seems that i need to download the update on my PC first somehow, and then transfer it to the phone.
Where can i find some official guide about this? And why isn't the update available over OTA when it seems like the phone should support OTA? Im asking because i cannot figure out if the reason for them not to do OTA, is because 6.0 for P8lite is in beta or something like that.
Furthermore if i look at huawei's own download tab on their support page for the P8lite, the Marshmellow update is not listed there.
http://consumer.huawei.com/my/mobile-phones/support/downloads/p8lite-my.htm

First you need to downgrade. You can do this by flashing this (http://consumer.huawei.com/nz/support/products/downloads/detail/huawei-p8lite-nz.htm?id=81666) file via sdcard. Then download this (https://goo.gl/zUPd1A) file. It has two folder. dload and dload2. First put dload folder in sdcard and upgrade. Then put second folder "dload2" rename it to dload and upgrade.
After this you may upgrade to B574.

Then download this (https://goo.gl/zUPd1A) file. It has two folder. dload and dload2. First put dload folder in sdcard and upgrade. Then put second folder "dload2" rename it to dload and upgrade.
After this you may upgrade to B574.

Sorry, but the links you send me here was for a Rollback to Android 5.0 ?!?!?
I have Android 6.0 !!
And the second link goes to a pfd toolkit download, no dload
OK, i understand. It was an Rollback to Version 5 and after this i can upgrade to Version 6. Right? Now i had B170 installed, and then? There were only one dload folder in ervery downlod , correct? Also i have no "vendor package UPDATE.APP" which i can use.
But where get i the B574 für Marshmallow Upgrade?

Do you have this option?

Yes. You can convert single sim into dual sim. I personally don't know the method. But I know there is a thread this.
Thanks, first i hope that i downgrade correctly, and after that i'll update with the versions we talk about. If there i get a DUAL-SIM phone it will be fine. But a SINGLE-SIM were also right. I'll be happy if i got a fine Build Version and can update in future.
Was it needed to workreset after every update ?
Also i doesn't know should i use the update.zip files into the dload folder or should i extract it before.
Hi, i'm be happy to 50% behause my build-version was now ALE-L21C900B500 and i can use the Dual-Sim-Button, yeahh i've now Dual-SIM. Tho phone works correctly and the security-version was "Mai 2016" and Android 6.0 .
Yesterday i try to update to B564-update-OTA version, but it doesn't work, it break shortly after the EMUI-Update-process. Must i update First on an other Version?
Was it strictly to use the update.zip file into the dload folder or only the update.app from the extracted zip-file ? At second step do i need a vendor file?
I also not know use the huawei extractor or an winzip tool?
Is there a way to come to B574 ?
Best regards
Chris

This is a temporary version. You need to flash B170 and then vendor file. Then you can update to B560, 564 or 574 as you wish.

If balong bug reappear after flashing b170 don't worry it's normal. After flashing vendor file it will fix permanently.

Captured Nougat OTA update for Lenovo Zuk Z2 Plus (INDIAN EDITION)

Hey Guys ,
Finally the long must awaited official Nougat update is here for Lenovo Zuk Z2 Plus (INDIAN EDITION).
ZUI version changes from 2.0.133ST to 2.5.104ST
To install the update, you will need to download the .zip file and then copy it to the device.Rename the .zip file to Update.zip. Once that is done, you will need to reboot to stock recovery, and install the zip. This will update your Z2 Plus to Nougat.
Link to file
gdrive : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0F3SSf-iLT4cnlqQlUtM2VXbk0/view?usp=sharing
Renamed file to update.zip, copied to root directory (not inside any folder), open updater, reboot to recovery, select install update. Shows installation failure after showing progress bar blank for 5-10 seconds. Any solution?
Edit: Downloaded and installed via updater app and it installed without any issues

Try any VPN and Choose China Server. If you are lucky you will get update else you have to use QPST flashing to get the update. You can always (and should complain btw i complained no reply so far the more are the people the strong is the Request) contact Lenovo and Zuk for the same.
