[HOW-TO]Access Data Usage - Ascend Mate 7 General

Hello guys !
In this tutorial I will teach you guys to access data usage with and without root.
Data usage is present by default in android phones but for some reason it is hidden in Mate7.
So,here is the method.
_________________________________________
WITHOUT ROOT :
REVISED METHOD:
1. Download the app "HiddenApp Launcher".
2. Look for Data Usage in the list and long press it.
3. It will create a shortcut of Data Usage.
Credit: ml_taz
OLD METHOD:
1. Open play store and search for the app called "2 battery " by Sam Lu.
2. Download it and open it.
3. In the application, you will see a big battery icon in the extreme left. Tap on the right side of the battery.
4. You will see a list.
5. Click on Data usage and you're done !
NOTE :- You can disable this app features and just use it to access Data Usage.

WITH ROOT :
1. Open a file explorer.
2. Go to cust/hw/eu/prop and open local.prop with editor and add these lines:
ro.config.hw_opta=999
ro.config.hw_optb=156

Hope these tricks help you guys to manage your mobile data more efficiently...

Thanks for this tutorial.
But there is a really popular method to get some features we miss in EMUI 3.0.
Just download the app "HiddenApp Launcher".
It shows you all apps and features available. Long press at the funktion/app will create a shortcut on homescreen. So you habe original Android data usage and much more features back in EMUI 3.0. No Root required!

The first two methods didn't work for me but however the hidden app worked like a charm

root but I can not save the modified local.prop.
Any tips?

[How-To]Simpler Unknown Sources Checkbox

Hey everyone. I saw that there's a whole topic on this, with some INSANE methods for enabling this. (Such as bringing something over to your computer, and what-not)
Required:
SQLite from Market
Root (SuperOneClick, z4Root, whatever)
1. Go into SQLite
2. Scroll to com.motorola.android.providers.settings (Settings Storage)
3. Tap settings.db
4. Tap settings
5. Scroll down to _id70 force_only_market_apps
6. Set the 1 in the value field to 0
Voila. Unknown Sources. All done from your phone.
That's a quick fix. So that is the only file that we need to modify? Do we need to change permissions or anything? Im waiting for the phone to get here, will try it when it get here.
The only one. No permissions needed. The SQLite app takes care of everything for you. Only turn-off some people might have is that this is a paid app.
I was able to sideload this app and edit the DB with it to allow non-market apps.
Works wonders...had been waiting forever to do this to my wife's phone...just waiting on ROM now...*excited*
I tried to use and phone said do not have permision. Yes I have root.

[Guide]Restore your apps without bleeding[1mobile market]

As some apps are not available or their updates sometimes not possible in the place I am currently living, China, I was looking for another third party app store and found 1mobile app. And just like some of you, traveling from one rom to another rom it was a pain to install over apps from app store in case roms got different build or even android versions, besides restoring apps by titanium backup causes some problems in some cases when I tried to restore my apps. After a while using and searching in 1mobile application I saw a very interesting feature which let me backup my apps by creating a folder called "onemobile_backup" without their data or messing around and restoring apps quickly.
So you can follow my tips if you are interested:
How to Backup
1- open 1mobile app and go to settings
2- go to end of settings option and hit Auto install and give root permission
3- and again hit Auto install and check if it enabled successfully
4- go to "Backup" and check every apps you like to backup
you can also update backup of any app, on "Backed Up tab": lower version in front of apps indicates that you have newer version available so just hit on small "x" behind the app (this would delete backed up app) then switch to "Available" tab and see that newer version is there, again tick and make a backup of new version.
How to Restore
If you already gave root permission skip 1,2,3.
1- open 1mobile app and go to settings
2- go to end of settings option and hit Auto install and give root permission
3- and again hit Auto install and check if it enabled successfully
4- go to "Backed Up" tab
5- tick every app you are going to restore
6- finally hit blue install button
7- wait for a little while and let the app restore your applications one by one
There maybe also similar apps doing the same but I found this app more convenient and quicker besides it's free and can update itself.

[GUIDE] LG Stock App permission Manager

Hello mates.
Yesterday I read somewhere that LG has a built-in permission manager and how to set it... unfortunately that guide was incorrect (wrong activity to discover)
so I started to looking for this activity and finally I've found it...
everything it's easy to do and with no risk.
BTW everything you do it's on you
NO ROOT NEEDED
Let's start:
1- Download from the playstore QuickShortcutMaker and open it
2- Look for setting and tap on it
3- Look for the activity call "com.android.settings/com.android.settings.Settings$AccessLockSummaryActivity" and tap on it
4- Tap on TRY and you will see if it works
5- If you could open this HideSetting just go back and tap on "CREATE"
6- On your home you are able to find this shortcut and set your permission without using 3rd parts app
(you can also unistall QuickShortcutMaker )
Here some screenshots
Can't find "com.android.settings/com.android.settings.Settings$AccessLockSummaryAct ivity"
joooe said:

Click to collapse
write "Access Lock" in the search bar after set "normal search" instead of incremental search

Download from the playstore " App Ops " and open it, it's simpler !
It's not stock app I think... Personally I avoid to install another app if I have one already installed, second I think that the activity is already on so if you use it or not it will continue to drain battery (also 0,0002%) so why double my drain? Anyway it's true... There are apps that do it better, I chosen this one that also work with no root
Unfortunately I am unable to find this in shortcut creator. Could you please advise? I was looking for com.android.settings/com.android.settings.Settings$AccessLockSummaryActivity and for Access Lock both brings nothing
Edit: the only solution I found out is installing app ops and install required pack because LG somewhere messed with Access Lock or deleted it from firmware.

Tasker:-Apps for little bit of more advance user.Helps you to automate your device.Such as ,I want to silent my phone when I am school,it automatically does that.

If the stock kernel(coming with ur ROM) supports DT2W then there should be an option in kernel adiutor. If not then then there will be no option. If u want DT2W then u have to use another kernel which supports that.Look into your devices forum.

Which version of Android are you on?
The best way of flashing t.w.r.p is by fastboot.
1)Setup ADB and Fastboot on your PC.
2)Open a command window inside the folder where your TWRP recovery .img file is saved. To do that, “Shift + Right click” on any empty white space inside the folder and then select “Open command window here” from the context menu.
3)Connect your device to the PC, make sure USB debugging is enabled from Developer options.
4)Boot your Lenovo A6000 into Bootloader mode using the command below:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
5)Once your phone boots into bootloader mode, issue the following command to flash TWRP recovery image:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
6)Reboot your phone using the following command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
U can flash T.w.r.p.img by flashify or rashr app available on playstore. There should be an option like"flash/install recovery from SD card".Select the image file from there and flash it.

[Guide] Enable App Twin Feature on EMUI 5.0

Saw few users not having App Twin feature on various variant of EMUI 5.0. I found this trick on Honor 5C Facebook group shared by one of the user claiming this worked for him on rooted phone. I could not test this because I already have this feature on my phones so unable to verify but someone not having this feature on EMUI 5.0 can verify and report.
This needs a rooted phone with root enabled file explorer. (Root browser or ES file manager)
Go to this path:- system/emui/lite/prop/
backup this file - local.prop (copy and paste in internal storage or somewhere)
Now edit the original file under system/emui/lite/prop/ and make below changes.
fw.max_users=1 to 2
fw.show_multiuserui=0 to 1
ro.config.hw_support_clone_app=false to true.
Save the file and Reboot the phone.
Now check in settings option just below battery for app twin.
If it works, please share the feedback so that other users can get benefit of this and if doesn't work, we will explore more option to have this.
If you face any issue, just restore the original file from backup.
One of the user in 6X thread confirmed this is working. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74219357&postcount=2
Good luck.
