[Q] Anyone used Swappa UK to sell? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've put up my Note 4 on Swappa UK, as I was advised to on here when selling other devices in the past. I thought I'd give it a try. Even paid extra to feature the listing.
I then noticed that there are a total of 5 devices for sale on Swappa UK. No need to pay for featuring the ad then.
Am I making a big mistake trying to sell my Note 4 on Swappa UK? Has anyone had any success in the past on there? I know it's far more popular in the US.
I want to know as I also have a Moto X 2014 to sell. I've recently moved house and need some spare moolah. I could've eBay'd it, I have done many times in the past, but they always take a massive chunk. I'm afraid I may now have to lower the price so much I may as well have put it up on eBay and just taken the hit on the fees.
It's £425 btw.

I can't see 4 for sale only 1 in Bolton £395

[Q] Price of Nexus S Flipkart Mystry!!

I am from India. The price here in retail stores is around 28,000 rupees..or sometimes even 30,000. This is the same I9023 which fits a S-LCD display.
But the price on flipkart.com is 19,999 rupees only. Why is it so? if it need to be less by a thousand or so i would not have been amazed.
I would like to know if these are 100% brand new or refurbished phones..
plz help me out i want to buy nexus s but am confused...
Ex customers of flipkart what do u say??...
Thanks in advance..
The price of the NS has fallen by quite a bit in the past couple of days. And it's not just Flipkart, a lot of 'reputed' online web sites have the same price, in some instances, a little less too.
Go right ahead !!

The drop in price was mainly due to the release of Samsung Galaxy S II and HTC Sensation for around 30K. Also, the price of Nexus S was around 25k less than a week ago.
I'd rather suggest letsbuy, they have listed the same at 19k, and you can get your hands on a brand new nexus s for ~17k (after applying discount coupons).

Only go for cash on delivery on letsbuy. Donot pay them in advance. Their customer care is non-existant, they do-not answer calls. Best way around this is COD.
On another note the price drop is surprising, I'd say the primary reason being lack of sales in India. Its a dev phone, most people go for the flashier looking Samsungs and HTCs.
Nexus S never had a chance here, NFC is pointless, there's barely 2% population using credit cards.
I'd bought mine for 27K a month ago. I never bought from flipkart.com but many people say they sell exactly as they on the website. I can vouch for Letsbuy.com, as I've bought two or three things from them.
Bought from Letsbuy.com. Ordered on 21st night, reached on 24th. Tracked the shipment through the 3 days on aramex.com... Cost me 18.8k.. How did u manage ~17k!!?

Swappa or eBay?

Okay so I see that Swappa has been linked with XDA... or at least the Nexus 4.
I was wondering what you guys think? Would you, personally, buy from Swappa or from eBay? The prices seem pretty similar. I just want to know which is more trustworthy.
I want to buy a Nexus 4 but I'm from India and Google stopped accepting Indian credit cards after the 15th of this month.
I don't know swappa, but I often end up buying stuff on ebay, basically looking at the % recommendations etc of the vendor. Keep over 99% and you should be OK
and if the price is unusually low, keep away...
good luck

[Q] buying used note 3 with swappa.com

Hello
There is a listing for unlocked/rooted galaxy note 3 phone on swappa.com, and I am very much enticed. I wanted to know if it is OK to buy from swappa.com, and if anyone here has experience with that. Also if the listing mentioned is good enough.
thanks
Swappa is great and the seller has sold nine phones there, so I think you're safe there. I have sold one there myself and it was a very smooth transaction.
The price might be a little high though. I paid $500 for a brand new in a sealed box Sprint Note 3 on Craigslist a few months ago.

Possible to order this tablet from US to India?

I am still interested in this tablet but the price in India is completely ridiculous, around 47000 (almost $800) for the 32 GB 3G version. I thought Samsung might lower it over time but the price hasn't budged in 9 months.
I am interested in the 16GB Wifi version which seems to be available for around $350 refurbished on Amazon. I was wondering if any Indian posters have ordered it through them and what the final price is after shipping, taxes etc.
Online / store price the best that I have seen is INR 45,500...
But I agree on both counts
1. Price has certainly proved resistant to lowering
2. Its expensive (currently picked up an ipad air 16 gb for 36k at amazon india)
Have not ordered this from US as I will prefer to buy it local because
1. Warranty and repair service - god forbid something goes wrong with the tablet, doubt samsung would honor the warranty of another country and am not confident on the situation of parts and all for a model not sold here locally...service in India stinks!
2. Custom duties - we have some crazy custom duties typicall plus add the cost of shipping and chances are whatever savings in the price you get will be nullified by the cost of having it delivered in your hands.
Me, even if I could accept the second.l, cannot accept the first as I don't want to end up with an expensive paper weight.
Purely my own thoughts, yours may of course vary.

I agree with your points which is why I wondered if anyone had any personal experience of ordering from India especially with respect to point 2. If the savings are sufficient I would be prepared to risk the lack of warranty.
Samsung has really missed the boat with pricing on this tablet. They could have easily launched the 16GB wifi version for 35. And it's baffling that they have refused to reduce the price. The Note 3 which was released at the same time is now 38 and the GS5 which was released 6 months later is 35. Hopefully once they launch the newer version, the price on the 2014 will drop sharply.
i just received mine yesterday. i bought it via amazon.
It was used( open box Like new). And really is just new unit. But there is little bump on back side near samsung logo.( I searched on google and many new unit also have same issue. and anyway its not noticable.)
Price was $387 (including fast shipping in 2-5 days). It converted into 24263 inr (always place order in USD).
It shipped via fedex. custom duty is little less than 15%.+ fedex fees and service tax. Totally i paid 4268 inr as duty.
Its super easy just make everything clear with seller.
I hope it helps you.
Thanks. So it works out to around 29000. I have to say that's quite tempting even given the warranty issues.
Yeah that's the reason i got one.

Market Price for Used?

Currently Google is selling the 128gb model 6p in the US for $649.00 (+tax + shipping). Is that a reduced price? I'm seeing multiple listings for used 128gb models, but all are for more than $649.00. Are these Swappa sellers hoping to find a sucker? Or has Google dropped the price for the holidays? I can't imagine why anyone would want to pay more for a used phone vs less for a new one with a warranty. Weird.
It would make a lot of sense in markets where the 6p is not available officially, but most likely these sellers are trying their luck and taking their time with selling them at a higher price to see what happens. Maybe the slight possibility that these phones might be out of stock in stores during the holidays in peek demand, might be something to look at.

Supply and demand my friend. Its relatively difficult for folks to get their hands on these phones.
That is the retail price, it hasn't been raised or lowered. The 5X on the other hand has gone down in price.
