full mirroring issue with galaxy s5 - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I did get arunchained reloaded, i spent more than 10 hours watching tutorials to be able to have full control of the app!
I will tell you what i did and the problem i still have!
1. I rooted my phone and get the superU, i have the MHL adapter installed, i removed the pioneer app radio, anyway! when i plug my phone to my appradio 3 i see conected (i have the first 5 litle hook when i do a diagnostic; bluetooth on, root access, virtual device exists, event injection, no app interference) and i am able to use the app and do everythin i need, exept that i don’t have the ‘’touch’’on my radio screen and can only use the screen of my phone!
I tried to set arunchained as system app with system app mover and when i did this i was not able to open arunchained anymore, it was closing right away!
I have a samsung galaxy S5 ,G900W8,
Please help me to find a way to have full mirror touch! i don’t have a lot of knowledge with phones and english is my second language so if possible try to use simple terms that i may understand and resolve this problem!
Thank you a lot for you time!

[Q]APPLICATION THAT CAN TRANSMIT THE AUDIO FROM OUR PC's TO OUR PHONE VIA WI-FI ?

Hello everyone,
I thought it would be most appropriate to post this in the general section as i think many people must b looking for such an application (Source-searched over web)
I would appreciate if someone could suggest me an application that can make our phone a wireless Audio receiver for our PC. I read a thread where we could suggest which apps we want but could no longer find it.
i read it somewhere that 'dlna/ALLSHARE' can do it but didn't quite figure out how..
if there's any other app it would b great to know..
TNX
You could also use gmote which for me is faster than allshare....their website has the instructions!
....This is an automated message......
Tnx everyone but tht's not what i need.... i need an app that can stream PC's audio to our phone ...making it more like a wireless headset (when the ear plugs are plugged in ) !!!
Also, I've the ALLSHARE server installed and running on my system...but still the app can't detect it
vlc direct. You play what you want to your pc vlc player and it streams it to the phone. Try it and if you have questions let me know.

Galaxy s3 usb connection issue for in car use.

Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Hello, struggling to find anything similar to the issue I am having, sure one of you more tech savvy folk could help.
My car a 10 plate golf has a built in media port through which I can charge and use my media devices, however since receiving my S3 I cannot get it to work. The in car system display states 'media device not recognised.'
To work around this I bought an aux jack to jack and plugged in to it that way and this works fine whilst the phone is disconnected. However when I connect the phone to the usb to charge, it automatically defaults to media device not recognised and disconnects the aux.
My old phone had the same issue (HTC desire) however this could be set to usb charge only which would prevent the car system from trying to use it as a media device simply providing charge.
However, I do not appear to have this option on my shiny S3.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I could work around this? I do not really want to charge the phone using the cigarette lighter socket as this has fried other devices in the past.
Many thanks.

Hi, just so you know this isnt the S3 forum, it is the galaxy 3 forum, however I know the problem you are referring to and it happens because "charge only" support was removed from ICS onwards unfortunately. There are apps out there designed to get around this, so far Ive not actually found one that works. I would suggest posting your question in the S3 Section and the general android section as you are more likely to get an answer as and when someone comes up with a fix. hope that answers your question, sorry I couldnt be more help.

Screencast HELP

Hello guys,
I am looking to get my phone to do screencast, I work either from home or in the office, and it is a pain to check IM's and SMS from the phone all day and night. I want to be able to just use the PC that I am working at.
I installed the SDK and attempted to get screencast to work on my rooted android 4.3 Note 3. However all I get is the picture of my phone, I can control the phone from the phone and the screencast updates, however it does not work in reverse whereby using the mouse and keyboard to control the phone.
I was just wondering if anyone has attempted this, has better solution, or knows that it will or will never work.
any help would be appreciated.
I think you would try teamviewer quicksupport with samsung addon

ARUnchained + Reloaded + Android Sticks

This will be a thread for ARUnchained users that are using Android Sticks instead of the traditional phone as their interface device. Any users that have info or tips, please feel free to post and lend a hand. I would like to see setups, tips, tricks, ROMs, kernels, etc. Basically anything that new or even experienced users would like to know or learn.
I will be getting my CX-919 soon and I will be posting my experience in getting everything setup and going. But don't wait for me, anybody that has already been through this, get things going. I may need the help!
Lets get rolling.......................

Thanks! Are you able to use GPS? If so, how do you do it?

This is the one i bought:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KNPRJ10/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
its dual core - way more then enough to put in the car.
rooting the stick took me a while to find the right method for this specific model, but i got it and it worked like a charm. rooted in 1 minute. If u guys end up buying the same stick i will upload and write instructions.
i have the App Radio 3 with the pioneer original android cable kit which is perfect.
it give power to the stick and it is connected via HDMI.
there are other custom ROMS for this stick but i found them useless to my needs since all they do is claim that 1080P support is better improved, which is irrelevant to our case since we never gona stream 1080P in the car.
i set up my google account and it took me roughly 1 hour to get everything set up the way my phone is...
since its an android stick and im not afraid of battery drain i put a live wallpaper on it which was cool.
it get internet via my phone tethering, works like a charm.
the first initial set up needed a keyboard and a mice. after that i also purchased one as a backup:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AIHYHJA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
just to have it in the car, just in case...
also dont forget to buy this if u are using an HDMI cable coming out of ur App Radio:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PVW1DE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
other then that ARU-Reloaded worked perfectly on that model,
sometimes the stick BT get disconnected , u know like any other software they all got bugs, but after 10 seconds its reconnect and ARU - Reloaded recognize that and reconnect automatically.
ARUR is set to start on boot so all i need is to turn the car on and i measured 1.30 minutes till i get touches.
GPS always worked for me with zero issues when ARUR is connected.

I just ordered the stick that you linked on Amazon. Should be here Saturday. I'll definitely need to pick your brain on rooting this. Are you running constant power or is it shutting off every time you shut the car off?

@m.a.s.e
Did you install GPS Injector? Are you using Maps?
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk
to answer your questions:
1. i am using ARU reloaded hence the injector app is pre installed and no need for a separate app. i am using google maps, but any other GPS app will work. The stick get immediate GPS lock on my car with no issues.
With ARU-R (reloaded) you can configure some settings like auto start on boot etc... There are some recommended config for sticks and that works great for me.
2. ill gather the root files and write a txt with short instructions and upload to this forum for those who buy the mk809III and want to root it.... its simple and require 3 reboots of the stick... overall roughly 2 minutes work. after that u are rooted.
u will need a keyboard and a mice in ur car for the initial setup, after that ur good.. (connect to the car BT) .
3. I am connected to power with the AR3 android KIT, each time i turn off my car the stick loses power. From starting the car to full connection i measured 1.45 minutes. which is not bad.
i looked at connecting the stick directly to the car battery but honestly 1.30 minutes is not bad at all...
4. if you are using an HDMI cable from ur AR HU to ur stick dont forget to buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
that way u dont need to take the HU out to put the stick directly to the radio and u can leave the stick in the glove box for easy convenience.
what else do u guys need to know?
next thing i am looking at is see how i can get a SIM connected to the stick via USB... my only prob is how to get a sim from my carrier that wont cost me pewr month...
Hi All,
ok so i have zipped the files needed to root the MK809III and added additional files:
Instructions:
Use Windows 7.
*. Unrar the compressed file to a folder on ur computer.
*. Plug the stick power supply to the wall outlet.
*. Attach the supplied micro USB to the SIDE micro usb port on the stick.
*. Connect to your computer USB port.
*. Let windows "try" to find the drivers, it will fail.
*. Point to the "Driver" folder i provided for the appropriate driver (go to the subfolder per ur OS).
--- if this doesnt work for u, let me know i have additional files and i dont remember which one worked, ill supply if needed ---
*. After driver installed and u verified the device is recognized in device manager go to the folder u extracted and run "TPSparkyRoot.bat"
*. Follow the script instructions. If will ask u to connect --> it will say if it recognized and ask u to click the enter key to reboot the stick --> let it reboot, once it is again recognized in ur USB port and fully powered on --> click enter again on the script --> repeat this step according to the script output 3 times.
*. After the stick is rebooted 3 times (never take it out of the USB port) it will be rooted on the last reboot.
*. Configure to ur home WiFi.
*. Configure ur google account and everything as u want.
*. Run to ur car with a stupid smile on ur face and tell ur wife/child/dog "i did it, i did it".
*. Connect to ur car BT using keyboard and mice, configure everything.
*. Write on facebook this post "MK809III + AR3 = Pure awesomeness" and ignore all the replies and let ur friends freak out cause they dont know what they hell u r talking about.

donate and get to the G+ group. when it will go to the playstore u already have a license.
I was just going to link to mase's guide, but I see he already posted it in both spots.
When someone finds a way to make Google Now voice stuff work with my phone contacts, and tethering phone calls and text messages from my phone to the Android stick, I'll buy one to try out. I have a remote start so I'm not too worried about startup time myself.
I am also curious if someone can hack Chromecast to work streaming the phone screen using the wi-fi tether from the phone...that would be even better than a USB stick and boot up times are in the seconds rather than a minute.

Mase thanks for posting that HDMI coupler. Was looking for this. I think I'm going to try mirror via Chromecast again now that it's officially supported on the Nexus 5. If that doesn't work well I'll go "stick" by route following your instructions.
Thanks again. And I'll keep y'all update on my Chromecast experiment.
Just received mine today , tried to connect the stick to my win 7 pc but the stick doesn't even register when I plug it into the usb , tried a different pc and get the same problem . Any ideas ?
I had to work with mine a lot to get into flash mode. You have to be sure about some USB settings. Go to freaktab.com and register, its FAR more info than xda. Look for Finless 2.0 for your stick and download it, the READ ME file is a great help!

in the stick settings dont forget to put it in USB mode, connect the cable to the side micro USB port and enable debugging as well.
and to install the drivers.
Cheers guy's I have it rooted now but have run into another couple of problems , firstly I cannot get touch working with reloaded no matter how many times I connect and disconnect Bluetooth and icons and text seem to be very small ,would I need to change something like dpi?

First, what stick did u get? second, u used a keyboard and mice for the initial setup with AR? also, did u verify in AR u have it set to other?
also, for DIP use an app called app settings to change app level DPI
OK so I got my stick (same one that m.a.s.e linked to) I got it rooted and got touch working on my appradio2. My issue is when I turn the car back on. Since it takes a little while for the stick to boot and for arunchained to start up I have to keep pressing yes so the AR will keep trying to connect to bluetooth. How are you guys dealing with it? I would really like to run constant power to avoid waiting for boot time, Anyone done this yet?

Samsung S7 mirrorlink support Appradio 4

Hope someone could help me with this. I have been using an iPhone for the last 5 years and in such I have a Pioneer Appradio 4. I am trying to see if I could make the android jump and purchase a S7 edge.
My Appradio supports mirrorlink as well as Appradio live which is garbage.
What I have been reading is there is no Mhl / hdmi support on an s7. However mirrorlink is available on the phone. Is anyone able to confirm that the S7 will connect via mirrorlink on my Appradio? I have been looking everywhere for an answer but most of the stuff is for the older galaxy phones. Sorry if I'm a bit ignorant to searching android stuff I've been chained to iOS and CarPlay for too long.
*Side question-- with Miracast do you lose all connectivity to cell data?
Thanks for all the help in advance
If your Pioneer Carplay head unit supports also Android Auto you can use this method for connecting.
Miracast doesn't interfere with the phone running data connections (wifi or mobile).
Unfortunately it doesn't support android auto. Which is pretty lame.
I dont't know about your head unit, but generally Mirrorlink should work also with the Samsung S7 Edge.
Thanks for the info now my only question is will it work with ARunchained reloaded once this is set I'll be ordering my Galaxy and getting off this iOS nonsense

For that app to work it's required to root the Galaxy S7Edge.
Anyway, if you're not used with Galaxy rooting, Knox and related possible Samsung warranty limitations, you can find these information on the forum. Moreover, to be able to root you need to buy the Exynos version, not the Qualcomm 820.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/index-samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-t3382679
Okay good I found it on the website it has the exynos processor. Once it's rooted and I change everything I should be able to run this app then? I messaged Area51 hopefully he will message back regarding it. Thanks again for all the info and help.

Yes it works
I can confirm you that Galaxy S7 works with mirrorlink and the AppRadio 4. The sound and video quality are simply perfect. I have been using MHL before with Sony Xperia and ARU, mirrorlink is better. The only issues are the restrictions that mirrorlink implements in the navigation, no recent apps none slide notifications, etc. Hope some friend could mod "Samsung Mirriorlink.app" to break freee these limitations but also in the current situation i recomend you to use mirrorlink with Galaxuy S7 because as I said, the stability and quality are just perfect.

so it will only work with rooting your s7 edge? if so how do I root my s7 edge? I to want to use mirrorlink with the sph-da120
I Just installed the SPH-120 and I can only get my Galaxy s7 to connect to blue tooth. Tried the developer mode with USB debugging, Switched to MTP configurations, and both USB ports along with multiple APPS. and I cannot get it to connect.
When I connect to the second USB port, Both the phone and radio attempt to connect but the phone screen shuts off and the radio says incompatible USB (original cable).
Hi how do you connect wich cables you use to get it working like you say?

I just created an account here so I can add a reply in case anyone struggles to get MirrorLink to work. I got an SPH-DA120 to work with my Samsung S7 Edge. I went through the same process of connecting the phone, seeing the connected message on the phone screen, and then the SPH-DA120 screen says "Incompatible USB." I thought it was an error but it was simply my failure to understand MirrorLink. You have to first get a certified MirrorLink app on your phone and then choose the home button (or whatever it is...looks like a Windows 7 start menu) and your certified MirrorLink apps will show up there. When you choose the USB/Ipod2 source the HU will always say "Incompatible USB." In my case I used RockScout, which then gives you access to everything on the phone by selecting a "Choose Source" option--that mirrors your phone's screen and provides a gateway to everything on your phone.
Maybe this process is common knowledge about MirrorLink but I spent way too much time googling this and trying random things to get the phone to connect. Something else worth noting is you need a high quality USB cable. The HU seems fine with USB extensions (even cheap ones) but it requires a high quality cable to connect to the phone. Some work, some don't. Not even all Samsung cables work.
One more thing...I actually contacted Pioneer's customer support to get assistance with this. To my surprise they replied to my initial email within an hour. That's impressive for customer support at a large company like that. Admittedly I figured out that the USB cable was the problem shortly after I sent the email but the quick response from them was nice.
Can somebody confirm if a non rooted Galaxy S7 can MirrorLink using rockscout while in motion using the 7000nex soft touch bypass? Trying to mirror every app and function while in motion using the nex. This includes YouTube, Google maps, chrome etc
Great information here. I just started driving a Jeep with appradio 4 in it . I have a galaxy s8 plus. Any advice what to do?
Still stuck with my note 8. Stock android Mirrorlink works but very limited. I tried with rockscout, button savior, LG mirrordrive app etc to screen mirror my phone but n way. The only fault is with Messenger pop-up showing nicely on my car screen. So I tried rooting my phone with magisk and hide my root but the Mirrorlink app is not working anymore. When connected to my phone it says authentification not valid... and the database is no more the same when I want to add some apps in pkgnames...
Hi,
I have problem with mirrorlink pioneer sph-da110 with galaxy s7 edge when I connet via usb I see mirrorlink in appradio. I click in mirrorlink then I see Lg Mirrordrive an I choose this after that I have dark screen and nothing else happens. Somebody can help my where is problem?
