[REQ] Need help for LB root from people with SGP621 on unlocked BL and stock kernel - Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact General

I may have get giefroot working on the SGP621. But to find out if it will really work I need help from people with a SGP621 and unlocked bootloader who are already rooted on stock kernel. Please issue the following commands in the terminal emulator on the device and attach the results (kallsysm.txt and the kernel version the cat /proc/version command produces) here.
Code:
su
echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/kptr_restrict
cat /proc/kallsyms >/storage/sdcard1/kallsyms.txt
cat /proc/version

This is from my unlocked bootloader Z3C SGP621

Thank you very much. I will have a look at it as soon as I am back on my PC. Hopefully the exploit was not patched by Sony like most of the other ones...

work good luck with the kernel ☺

I just wanted to tell you what root has been found for the z3 d... At the bounty forum go there to check it out?

I know. I am working with the guy who did it to get root to our devices. But it involves more work and more risk than normal because the firmware of our devices is not exploitable. But I may have found a way nonetheless. I post as soon as I have an update.

I thank you for trying I just every one else that there is hope. http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-...-unlocking-bootloader-method-t2940539/page101

@gromoglasnik could you please contact me again, I would need you to execute
Code:
cat /proc/version
too, so I can combine those two infos.
For all others, I ask you again for the sake of all the people that have a SGP621 and want to backup their TA and root, please if you have a unlocked SGP621 supply the information requested in the opening thread, share them here or PM me with them. Thank you!

There is a thread in development where they might have and unlock rooted SGP621 post there too.

Linux version 3.4.0-perf-gd4d661a ([email protected]) (gcc version 4.7 (GCC) ) #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Sep 19 18:10:07 2014

@gromoglasnik thank you for your help! Its much appreciated.

This thread ought to be moved to a different subforum, Original Android Development perhaps.

So BPinard can you help him

I got everything I need. This Thread can be closed or locked. For now it seems our kernel can not be made compatible to giefroot, but I got a method to get root and backup the TA here. It is high risk and means loosing all your data in the process, but for me it worked and I am now running CM12 and have my TA Backed up.

Thread closed as per OP's request.

Yes of course, Samsung knows...
Is there any logical explanation why some members always start to ask [placeholder for expressions that shouldn't be written down] questions like this?

My reason of asking was that I thought stock firmware modders would know what were the changes. At least from what files had been changed. Guess I was wrong then.
which is better
based from samsung updates, LS6 is newer than LR1 but the later has higher changelist

Asia Galaxy Note N7000 build ZSLR1
Has anyone successfully rooted the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 build ZSLR1 with jelly bean? If so, please show this nooby which file to download and the exact steps to install the root file for the android phone? I know nothing about rooting and my phone is giving me a lot of trouble of running out of storage space or insufficient storage when there is a 32GB external micro SD card in it.
Please help!!
Thanks in advance!!!
If you do not know anything about this: start reading and learn. There are many excellent tutorials in all the sticky threads made by members exactly for this purpose.
If you do not want to do this (and by asking for "exaxt steps" it feels like this): do not root, stay on stock and be happy. Even here you can solve your problems by simply making a factory reset and remove apps if necessary.
Do not assume people did not read what is posted, when you assume you just showed that you are arrogant and disrespectful. And if you have nothing better to say other then show off your power in a web site, you can STFU.
Guess this site is not as helpful either!!
Thanks a bunch!

Hi,
I just read The Beginner's Guild to Root Galaxy Note, I am not sure which kernel I need to download for use with Method 2 to root my phone. My Galaxy Note 1 is running JB 4.1.2. Baseband Version is N7000XXLT3, Kernel Version is totally different than what was explained on the guide. My Kernel Version reads something like this: 3.0.31-1279458
[email protected] #3
SMP.PREEMPT Mon Jun24 19:41:50 KST 2013
No idea which kernel will match with this version for the root process; I looked in the link provided, seems like it's all letters for the kernel files and not numbers like mine, not sure what to look for there; if someone could kindly point me the right file to download, that would be much appreciated!!
Also, the Build number on my phone is: JZO54K.N7000ZSLR1. I found from your site that there is a file called "PhilZ-cwm6-ZSLR1-OZS-5.11.2-signed". Will this be the file I need to root my phone? And by following method 2 in the guide, will this file do the job then? Please confirm!
I am planning to use method 2 to root my phone, seems to be the easiest and safest way to do so. Just want to make sure I got the right file/kernel and the right way to do it, please advise!! Thanks a bunch!!

Request Rooted Droid Ultra/Maxx SU4-21 System Partition

Creating a new thread from here to request system.mbm (system partition) that we can use to gain root.
Who is this for?
-People with SU 4.21, who upgraded to the initial Verizon Droid Maxx/Ultra 4.4.4 and held off on future updates (probably like me hoping an exploit would be found)
Phone Info:
Android Version: 4.4.4
Build Number: SU4.21
System Version: 21.11.21
Kernal Version: 3.4.42
(Let me know if you have SU4.21 and a different system version and I will update)
What will we achieve?
Once we get system.mbm we can use This Method to achieve root and can then use Sunshine to unlock bootloader.
Commands to run for anyone willing to help from this thread, thanks little2slo
Code:
set sBD="%date%-%time:~0,2%.%time:~3,2%"
adb wait-for-device
adb shell su -c "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p38 of=/sdcard/system.mbn"
adb pull /sdcard/system.mbn ./%sBD%/system.mbn
pause

Want a LBL Lollipop root method for the Xperia Z1? Keep reading.

Hi all!
I'm happy to say that, thanks to iovyroot, and with a lot of help from zxz0O0, we managed to create a new root tool for the Xperia M2, EagleRootTool, meaning we don't actually need to use Kingroot anymore to root LBL devices under latest Lollipop firmware :victory:
However, since this root binary is compatible with (probably) any kernel built before December 2015, I thought of making the tool compatible with some other devices, like your Z1, since it's actually very similar to my device.
Unfortunately, since this tool's based on some kernel-specific addresses, to make it compatible with other devices like the Z1, I need them from every single variant.
I'm going to take for reference all models and firmware build numbers from XperiFirm.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- An already rooted device in 14.6.A.1.236 (it doesn't matter if it was rooted by Kingroot, or via UBL methods).
- A little of Android general knowledge: Usage of ADB (mainly).
- Patience.
DEVICES:
- C6902
- C6903 ✓
- C6906
- C6943
HOW TO DO IT?:
Just open an ADB prompt and run a shell in it. Then, run the following commands, replacing the *location with storage/sdcard1 if you want to use your SD Card, or with data/media/0 if you want to use the internal memory.
Code:
su
cat /proc/version > /[COLOR="Purple"]*[/COLOR][COLOR="red"]location[/COLOR]/version.txt
echo 1 > /proc/sys/kernel/kptr_restrict
cat /proc/kallsyms > /[COLOR="Purple"]*[/COLOR][COLOR="red"]location[/COLOR]/kallsyms.txt
(remember to hit enter after each line of the above :silly
Now upload those two files (version.txt & kallsyms.txt) wherever you want, or attach them in your comment, saying which model they're from, and I'll add the required offsets to support your device manually!

DISCLAIMER: This is NOT a placeholder NOR Spam thread. I just want to help this device users to get them supported in a common Lollipop Xperia rooting toolkit, since this device won't get Marshmallow, and has a compatible kernel. If you, moderator or user, decide to close/report this thread, I may understand it, but think it twice before doing it.

Okay, the device C6903 has been added, you can check it here: https://github.com/sergiocastell/iovyroot/blob/patch-1/jni/offsets.c#L281
Thank you! ^_^
can i root my Z1 SO-01f (Docomo) running latest lollipop and the model detected is C6903, with this?

2 new OTA updates brought DPK1 to PDL1 to PQA1. Feb 7th 17.

I didn't have root before taking the updates so i'm not sure one could lose root or not. however, I did forfeit my chance to root (at least for the time being) by updating.
Everything (software version, baseband, build #) is updated to DQA1.
Odin (3.12.5) still runs and flashes twrp (3.0.2) but stock recovery is still there.
That's all that I know. Hopefully someone will come along with a quick root solution.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Mods can feel free to close or merge this because someone already posted here so i'm gonna go ahead and join those guys. Thanks.
Please continue here as per the post above.

Is it possible to unlock the bootloader on Verizon with CID 11

I have stock lollipop rooted with safestrap, but am wondering if it's possible to unlock the bootloader on my CID 11 to put a custom ROM on this. This thread from Mar 2016 was only for CID 15, but maybe there's been a breakthrough since then. Thanks!

There is talk on a few other forums regarding this question for Unlocking the Bootloader on a G900V with CID 11 also with KitKat installed but, there's no Guides/Tutorials on how to do this.
The following thread is one of the more prominent threads i, personally, monitor from time to time.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3561529
Based upon what I've seen within the XDA Forum, as well as a few other Forums, the final verdict is (basically the bottom line)...
It's a work in progress with some promising chatter and ideas but, nothing solid has been announced or mentioned.
Those with the G900V and CID 11 are still only able to Root the device and unable to unlock it yet.
Keep in mind that this looks like it's still something that is continuing to be discussed and as long as there's still a want/need for it, only time will tell.
I hope i had explained this okay...
Good Luck!
